The Obidients will fund it. helinues: Peter Obi as the presidential candidate for ADC, who will fund the election campaign. Atiku had him reasons for not pairing with Peter Obi in 2023 most especially when it comes to election funds. Atiku/Obi ticket, Peter Hardly dropped funds while the party money given to him couldn't be accounted for.
Atiku, Amaechi out of the ADC presidential race means they might not fund the candidacy of whoever emerge.
And please before talking about the donations from the supporters, that would be a token of all the funds needed for the main election as Nigeria election is expensive |

Politics › Re: Why Are They Not Declaring Abuja "No Man's Land"? by DMerciful(m): 9:15pm On Jul 28, 2025 |
Anytime there's about to be a major election, some Yorubas will start shouting they're saying Lagos is no man's land to wipe up sentiments. Works all the time. 2027 when Nigerians ought to unite to send the abysmal failure Tinubu packing, all of a sudden, we started hearing Lagos is no man's land narrative. I have not seen anybody of influence made this comment for over 20yrs! DomPerignon: 95% of Lagos state was not part of the federal capital . Most of Lagos was under the administration of Western Nigeria .
Abuja on the other hand was declared FCT and every inch of it belongs to the FG.
Lagos is no longer FCT since IBB moved the capital to Abuja.
Since then, the FG has not in anywhere treated Lagos as a federal capital
The only time Lagos ever was treated fully as a federal capital was during Obasanjo's military junta.
After the return to civilian rule, most of Lagos reverted back to indigenous rule and had an elected civilian governor in the form of Jakande.
So the only time the entirety of Lagos was treated as a federal territory was during the very brief military junta of Olusegun Obasanjo and that was between 1976-1979.
On December 1983, the military struck and truncated our democracy. During this period, late Buhari did all he could to rubbish Lagos by halting the proposed Lagos rail line. No meaniful development was witnessed under Buhari and later IBB and Abacha other than the construction of the Lagos Third mainland bridge and central mosque in downtown Isale Eko.
Abacha came in and totally neglected Lagos and concentrated on developing Abuja.
It was IBB who ordered all heads of MDAs and their appointed ministers to relocate to Abuja and Abacha effectively ordered the entire Civil Service located in the defunct ikoyi secretariat to relocate to the newly constructed Federal Secretariat located in Central Area , Abuja.
The infrastructure investment made by the FG in Lagos pales in comparison to Abuja.
If you are confused were your federal capital is, pls note that it is Abuja and not Lagos.
I wonder why they will now leave Abuja that has "Unity" as it's slogan and be dragging Lagos ?
Paraventure Nigeria is to breakup or rather you are to be granted your exit out of Nigeria with your five states, will you still remain in Lagos and be dragging it with the real owners? |

Obi remains the only person since 1999 that has defeated Tinubu in Lagos since 1999 so what are you talking about? Peter Obi as the concensus presidential candidate of the coalition is non-negotiable 1nigeriamyfoot: Peter Obi can never defeat Tinubu
Tinubu will rig south west & South South in his own favour
Northerners will vote for Tinubu instead of Obi with the hope of another taking over after 8yrs of Tinubu
Let me be honest, Atiku Vs Obi ticket still remains the best
Let the likes of Amaechi & El Rufai contest for senate, kwankwaso for Ministerial appointment
Elrufai, Kwankwaso, & Atiku will guide the north vote and ensure it's in their favour
Obi will win south east landslide, some votes in south west
Lots of people from South West will vote for ADC as well due to APC maladministration
Emotion can never win an election but calculation
If Atiku & Obi should be on a separate ticket, it's a done deal for Tinubu because Atiku will never win alone and Peter Obi can never win all alone
In conclusion, I want other party to take over from APC wicked administration because they've destroyed this country. There's no rule of law again because the presidency now dictate to the judiciary. Under APC we have IGP who's due for retirement still occupying the seat which is against the law, if law enforcement agents are the one saying the law is rubbish, what do you expect from the common man?
Nigeria is becoming crime zone which is a very big bad omen for Nigerians

Read what I wrote and know how it is different from GEJ's agreement. If I asked you to privide the evidence that GEJ made that statement, you wouldn't be able to stuffs2002: GEJ had a gentleman agreement with the northerners andit could not be written down on paper because it is unconstitutional. GEJ betrayed that agreement because it is not tenable in court since it was not even constitutional and the excuse GEJ gave was that many people were demanding that he should contest again. That was why GEJ in his announcement of his second tenor candidacy said he had agreed to recontest again due to pressure from different political groups
That singular act of betrayal by the northerners will never make anyone to trust Obi who everyone knows is a liar. Even if Obi announced on BBC and VOA that he wouldn't recontest it can not be enforced because it is not constitutional |

Peter Obi made the statement publicly unlike the agreement they said they made with GEJ but when GEJ asked them to provide the evidence, non could provide it. Its not the same thing. If the North allows Tinubu to win 2027, Tinubu will retire all on them Atiku, El Rufai, Kwankwaso, Tambuwal, Bala Mohammed, Sanusi etc and pick his successor even from Kwara. They wouldn't be that foolish, would they? Globad: Well, the north won't be interested as they would have to it wait for 8 years instead of 4 years under the present president
The north won't make the mistake of relying on a single term agreement as it would be unreasonable to be fighting a sitting president over an agreement. The sitting president will most ikely win.
So, why not try and take it now or wait for only 4 years? |

Politics › Re: PDP Using Obi Like A Football - First Labour, Then ADC, Now PDP by DMerciful(m): 2:04am On Jul 27, 2025 |
Jealousy! LordviccoDaGuru: “PDP Using Obi Like a Football – First Labour, Then ADC, Now PDP?”
— As Atiku Quits, Party Courts Obi; Will 2027 Be Yet Another Stage in His Political Carousel?
LAGOS, July 26, 2025 — Major political turbulence is brewing as Peter Obi, once the standard-bearer of the Labour Party and briefly ADC candidate, finds himself once again in PDP’s crosshairs just as Atiku Abubakar formally resigns from the party to join the ADC-led coalition. Critics are calling it the same old political game: use Strategic Obi, then discard him like a football when convenient.
From PDP to Labour, ADC and Now Back?
Peter Obi originally joined PDP and declared for the 2023 presidential nomination in March 2022. However, citing delegate bribery and factionalism within the party, he withdrew and resigned from PDP on May 25, 2022, just days before its primary slated for May 28. He then shifted to Labour Party where he emerged as the presidential candidate.
PDP Reaches Out as Atiku Exits
In a dramatic turn, Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 PDP presidential candidate and a founding father of the party, tendered his resignation letter dated July 14, 2025, officially quitting PDP to join the ADC coalition for the 2027 elections .
Shortly thereafter, Jerry Gana, a founding PDP elder, publicly confirmed that PDP has begun “courting” Obi to return. He leads what the party describes as “a delegation to former members in the South”—seeing Obi as valuable political capital . Gana hinted, “Yes, why not?” when asked if Obi is welcome back, saying further talks are in progress but not yet formalised .
“Football Politics”?
Critics argue this cycle is emblematic of the Nigerian political carousel, where Obi is treated as a tool to wield influence:
Labour Party gave Obi significant momentum in 2023, only to fade when the post-election heat died.
ADC swooped in briefly as another vessel for his ambitions, but offered limited infrastructure or grassroots support.
Now PDP, after shedding Atiku and facing internal turmoil, sees Obi as a potential booster to revamp the party’s image.
Many Obi supporters worry he’s being used: “once PDP finishes using Peter Obi, they will kick him out like football the way Labour Party did” — a sentiment circulating among sceptical commentators.
What Could 2027 Look Like?
With Tinubu rejoining APC and Atiku leading a rival coalition under ADC, the political landscape ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections may crystallise into a three‑way contest:
Candidate Likely Platform Strength Weakness
Peter Obi Possibly PDP, ADC, or own platform Strong grassroots in the South; appeal to youth Risk of being sidelined again Atiku Abubakar ADC coalition Financial backing, party machinery Fragmented base; PDP departure could alienate loyalists Tinubu APC (incumbent alignment) Incumbency advantage; party structure Economic dissatisfaction; internal divisions
Despite PDP branding itself a “solid platform” for 2027, critics like Ayodele Fayose have forecasted its decline, even warning the party may struggle to finish in the top three, trailing Obi and ADC ahead of it.
A Cautionary Tale for Obi Supporters
This unfolding drama begs a sharp question: is Peter Obi still charting his own path—or merely being bounced between parties that see him as a convenient asset? For supporters, the risk remains clear:
Will he be abandoned again if the alliance fails or party convenience dictates?
Can he realistically command influence within PDP structures after criticisms of its past?
Is remaining independent—or sticking with LP—his best move, away from this “political football”?
Conclusion
As 2027 nears, what’s unfolding isn’t just political realignment—it’s a spectacle. PDP forlornly chasing Obi after losing Atiku; ADC building around a former PDP founder; Tinubu’s APC consolidating power. Peter Obi sits at the fulcrum of this tension. Whether he resurfaces as the decisive kingmaker or the pawn discarded again, the stakes could hardly be higher.
Let the political football begin.
End of Analysis. |
