PoliticsRe: ADC Speaks On How Its Presidential Candidate Would Emerge by DMerciful(m): 10:34am On Jul 21, 2025
Seems you guys prefer Atiku to face Tinubu
zero8zero:
grin grin grin grin
The problem here is Obi himself, Obidients are only noisemakers and keyboard warriors. Obi's dishonesty is the cause of the confusion among the coalition. We all know that there were series of meetings among these people before finally agreeing to adopt ADC. You can't join a coalition without an agreement. Obi must have agreed with the terms of the coalition before announcing he has joined them but his dishonesty, lack of integrity is pulling him back from being transparent to his supporters and inform them about what he had agreed with the coalition. Yesterday he would say he has joined the coalition, Today he would say he remains in LP, Tomorrow he would say with or without the coalition, he will contest for the Presidency... doing blablablu and jamming the heads of his supporters together in confusion. The question they are not asking him is , what was your agreement with the coalition?.
PoliticsRe: ADC Speaks On How Its Presidential Candidate Would Emerge by DMerciful(m): 10:34am On Jul 21, 2025
Is it that you guys fear Obi more than Atiku? Because its between Obi and Atiku so if you're mocking Obidients, that means you want Atiku to contest against Tinubu
TimeManager:
Reality keeps staring Obidients in the face day after day. You may stay on your keyboard and be forming Voltron, Putin and Kim Jong Un combined, intimidating and issuing threats but as soon as you logged off from your internet, you will come and face the reality waiting for you. The message of the coalition is clear, you're in the minority, you may have your say but we will have our way.

PoliticsRe: What Three Things Will You Do To Make Nigeria A Better If You Are A President by DMerciful(m): 7:57pm On Jul 20, 2025
I will do only one thing....make sure elections are free, fair and credible 100%.
If that is done, competent people with integrity will be able to win elections and once that begins to happen sustainably, all other things will fall in place
obembet:
If YOU become president of Nigeria today, what 3 things will you do to make Nigeria a better place?

If am privilege to become Nigeria president today, this are the three issues I would personally tackle

1. I would solve the electricity problem permanently, stable power inevitably boosts the economy.

2. I would reduce the cost of food and living, subsidize and heavily invest in agriculture, local manufacturing of essentials and cut excess waste.

3. I would end insurgency and insecurity, there would be a complete force reform and overhaul.

PoliticsRe: 2027: Atiku May Not Win But He Must Contest. by DMerciful(m): 3:38pm On Jul 20, 2025
Why should Atiku run after 8yrs of Buhari when its the turn of the South?

Are we second class citizens?
chrisxxx:
Atiku wanted a favour from Obi in 2023 to support his ambition. That ambition was for Obi to run with him. It was obvious that none of them would win if they run on a different tickets. Obi was defiant and ran separately. This led to a division of votes among them in what would have been a roller coaster victory for them

Trust a typical Fulani man. They don't believe in too much talk. They suffer their pains stoically and wait for the appropriate time to revenge. The only person who can throw the spanner for Obi in 2027 is Atiku. If Atiku decides to back Obi it is game over for Tinubu. Will Atiku back Obi? Your guess is as good as mine.
Atiku will run like Obi did in 2023 to divide the vote this time for Obi.
Behold! Tinubu wins again.
PoliticsRe: Why Peter Won Lagos State In 2023 Election by DMerciful(m): 3:35pm On Jul 20, 2025
Obi will defeat Tinubu in Lagos with a bigger margin in 2027.

Tinubu is not popular in Lagos
helinues:
I deliberately not talk about it all this while because it's annoying. I created a thread about it 2 years before the election but it was ignored

In every state there is a measure to check and balance the number of non indigenes during voters registration. SanwoOlu neglected that hence being blamed, but it wasn't deliberate.

Such kind of mistake can't be allowed in 2027

PoliticsRe: 2027: Between 2013 Merger And 2025 Coalition by DMerciful(m): 3:33pm On Jul 20, 2025
Unless they choose Peter Obi as the concensus presidential candidate
TonyeBarcanista:
In 2013, a true merger occurred, driven by political heavyweights who controlled their respective parties and had a history of winning elections, including defeating incumbent governors. This group included serving and former National Assembly members involved in the merger process. Most importantly, they had a skilled political strategist from Lagos State, who consistently kept the powerful ruling PDP at bay in Lagos and orchestrated their defeat in other southwest states during the previous election. This group became the envy of many, including elected governors of the then-ruling party, some of whom joined their camp. That was the APC.

In 2025, there is now another group that calls itself a coalition. Its leaders are a collection of candidates with a history of electoral losses in their constituencies. They control no political structures, as most were effectively forced out of their parties. They lack influence among governors, and their ranks include individuals frustrated by their inability to secure appointments in the current administration. More importantly, they lack strategists and do not trust each other. This 'coalition' believes it can replicate the APC’s historic 2015 feat.

My prediction remains unchanged. The so-called coalition will not come close to winning in 2027 presidential and other elections.

PoliticsRe: Who Will Inherit CPC Politicians? by DMerciful(m): 12:46pm On Jul 20, 2025
Neither Atiku nor Tinubu will inherit them. Some will remain in APC, some will go with El Rufai, some will stand alone.
helinues:
Late president Buhari had been the one leading the CPC political group which formed margin with AD to make APC.

The question now is who will Inherit the CPC members between Atiku and President Tinubu?

I am reserving my opinion about this. Want to read from others who truly know about the political and religious Ideology working in Northern part of Nigeria

In a free and fair election, Obi will defeat Atiku in the North
VeryWickedMan:
Read my last thread to understand this fully...

Believe it or not, Peter Obi is trapped.
The man is conflicted.

Let me highlight his current status before I delve in deeper.

Point #6 is non-negotiable. It is why Obi will agree to Point #3.

If Peter Obi does not run in 2027 his supporters will leave him but if Atiku does not run in 2027 nothing will happen when he returns to run.

IF, and a very big IF, Atiku agrees to allow Peter Obi to run under ADC in 2027, Tinubu is gone.

If Atiku signs a handover deal with Tinubu for 2031 like Buhari/Tinubu did then it is over for Peter Obi (and Wike) grin

Atiku holds all the aces after his defection + Buhari's demise and this is why it will be extremely difficult to make him step down. To be honest, this is Atiku's best ever chance to be President and Peter Obi knows it.

PoliticsRe: 3 Things That Should Be Named After Muhammadu Buhari - By Naptu2 by DMerciful(m): 9:13am On Jul 18, 2025
GEJ started the bridge else Buhari wouldn't have touched it.

It is 2nd Niger Bridge and thats how it will remain. 3rd mainland bridge is officially Ibrahim Babangida bridge but nobody calls it that.
naptu2:
Well, there's nothing wrong with naming the University of Maiduguri after Buhari, but if it were me, there are 3 things that I would have named after him.

1) The Second Niger Bridge: So many governments have promised to build it (Shagari, Obasanjo and Jonathan for example) and failed, it should be named after him to acknowledge the fact that he actually built it.

2) Katsina Train Station:

The Kano-Maradi rail line had been proposed by previous governments, but it was his government that actually started construction. Buhari was also from Katsina State and it would be perfect if the Katsina Train Station is named after him.

3) The NDDC Headquarters building in Port-Harcourt:

The land was acquired in 1996 (when the agency was known as OMPADEC), but nothing was built on it. The agency continued to operate from rented quarters. In fact, rather than connect the old headquarters to the national grid, they kept buying diesel for its generators. It was Buhari's government that built the new headquarters and he commissioned it in 2021 (25 years after the land was bought), so it should be named after him.

Photos 2 and 3) NDDC Headquarters.

In all your arguments, you have spoken about Buhari honor, Nnamdi Kanu release but you never mention what benefits the Northerners like pulling them out of poverty, ending insecurity, reducing out of school children.

You guys don't know what democracy and governance are all about

Watianoengineer:
We shall meet at the polls. So you expect northerners to vote for a pro - IPOB Obi who will do anything to gain power in order to release nnamdi Kanu?
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Honoured Buhari In Death, But Buhari Snubbed Shagari When He Died —G/Son by DMerciful(m): 4:01pm On Jul 17, 2025
So you expect northerners to ignore 3.5yrs of terrible performance but vote for him because he honored a human that had expired? Really? That would be the worst form of self hate from northerners
Watianoengineer:
Buhari toppled shagari's government if I may recall. Fulani's hardly forgive grievances. Whatever reason buhari had to sack shagari's government was still fresh in Buhari's mind. Kudos to president Tinubu for leading the state burial from the front. He's leadership has soften the heart of some northerners and may win him more votes from Buhari's cult followers in 2027

Don't vote for serial decampees like Obi and Atiku. Asiwaju till 2031
PoliticsRe: One Of Atiku Or Obi May Have To Step Down To Ensure That APC Is Kicked Out 2027 by DMerciful(m): 9:21pm On Jul 16, 2025
Atiku will be 81yrs, too old and esp after Yaradua and Buhari's demise, we cannot take that risk
brain54:
Both of them are desperate and won't step down for the other...

Obi is already showing signs by leaving one leg in labour party.

But if I was to be neutral then obi should deputize for Atiku. Because Atiku has served as a vice to obj before so he has a more robust cv, obi has been his running mate before so it will be difficult for him to come be a running mate to obi, age is no more on Atiku's side and this obviously would be his last chance.

Obi is younger and If the alliance works and they are able to take power from APC which would be a long shot looking at tinubu's antecedence, then he might have a better chance of being president when Atiku completes his term.

This is a long shot though as I don't see either of them dropping their ambition for the other!
PoliticsRe: One Of Atiku Or Obi May Have To Step Down To Ensure That APC Is Kicked Out 2027 by DMerciful(m): 9:20pm On Jul 16, 2025
Atiku will be 81yrs in 2027. Too old for the presidency at a time like this esp after what happened to Buhari.

Peter Obi as the concensus presidential candidate of the coalition is non-negotiable.

Ticket is Obi-El Rufai
gidgiddy:
I used to think that in 2027, Tinubu, Atiku and Obi would all run again to see who would be the ultimate choice. However, it doesn't seem it will be that easy. Unfortunately, Nigeria is not yet at the point of conducting credible elections, and only a formidable coalition can prevent the ruling party from hijacking the electoral process

Ultimately, for the coalition to survive, either Obi or Atiku, must step down and back the other. There's no point Obi and Atiku running individually only for APC to be the beneficiary.

Some time next year, Obi and Atiku must gauge the political temperature and decide who between them has the best chance of beating APC. The one with the least chance should step down and back the other

APC will be gone
PoliticsRe: It Appears Peter Obi Has Dribbled Himself Out Of The 2027 Elections by DMerciful(m): 9:13pm On Jul 16, 2025

HEAVEN4444:
In his strategic moves it appears he has dribbled himself out of the competition. Like that striker that dribbles everybody out of touch. His hecky jerky movements of non commitment so as to last minute jump into the favorable position has cost him. The ADC guys are not going to give him the ticket. He will have to pry that ticket out of the dead cold hands of sai Dubai and might I add sai Dubai is looking very fit these days. That man not planning to be an ancestor any time soon. The LP guys have taken their party back. He can't join APC . PDP he can't return to. It appears Peter obi has dribbled himself out of the contest. Lord have mercy upon us
