Take it to the Supreme Fraud?

We're the ones contesting for the president through Obi
helinues:
Nigerians, don't be used by politicians to start another form of protest. The protest would be hijacked just like end sars. Allow the politicians to settle their scores without infringing on the right of other Nigerians.

The politicians have the option of going to Tribunal and Supreme court to present their case. Nigerians are yet to get over the hardship caused by naira redesign, please don't add to their woes with another protest.

Life must go on after the election, we should never allow the politicians to continue using us as a bait.

The army that were deployed across Nigeria before the election are for mostly post election crises. So many new recruits who have never been overwhelmed with dicey situation before, dont be used as shooting practice, let the politicians go to court and avoid any means of protest which could lead to chaos and confusion.

We all want the best for the country , say no to any form of election protest

Sometimes, God's victory over Satan doesn't always appear as a victory to us. This is because we often fail to see the bigger picture. Situations we think are setbacks may turn out to be the very foundation for better days. If Satan knew, he would've left Jesus untouched because it was on the cross that Christ said, "IT IS FINISHED".

Believe it or not, Obi and Datti have succeeded in showing Nigerians what "ordinary citizens" can do when motivated. Many devils have been retired due to this. More to be retired. Just watch how Nigerians will give INEC close marking during gubernatorial election. Results MUST be pasted in polling units and electorates must see it before any INEC staff moves an inch.

Also, the incoming government will have very impatient Nigerians to deal with. Not really a win for thieves, if you ask me.

Look at the bright side and keep the fire alive. Las las, we go dey okay.

Fools can come and jack off with the usual rhetorics.

The guidelines must be made kniwn before the election
Obaofaba:
Jagaban is the president elect...

INEC violated no law most especially the electoral Act in this election.

INEC has the right to follow whichever guidelines it chose to so long it's in consonance with the Constitution.

That's why Melaye walked out, they have agents in all the polling unit Nationwide and must have seen that they've lost the election, instead of accepting the people's wish, they want to burn down the country.

Pastor Paul Enenche and Melaye should be arrested immediately by the DSS.

Asiwaju has won this.

In any case, no result outside BVAS will be accepted
JuicyStar:
The interpretation of any section of the constitution lies with the courts and not with even the INEC section to interpret. Mike was giving his own personal interpretation and not speaking for INEC. The said Section 134 (2) of the constitution doesn’t form part of any policy or election guideline to be interpreted by INEC.

At the end of the day, I guess it’s the court that will settle the matter.
Politics › Re: A Candidate won't Be Declared Winner If He Doesn't Get 25% In FCT : INEC by DMerciful(m): 2:56pm On Feb 28, 2023
He said it before election so couldn't have change in the middle of the game
JuicyStar:
Mike Igini interpretation must be in line with the intent of the drafters of the section of the constitution. And I think that the section should be amended so as to clear what people might call ambiguous.

However as it stand now the right interpretation should be that the FCT must be included as a State in the Federation for the calculation of the two-thirds. That’s the only way the conjunction of “and” can make sense. The two-thirds of the Federation should stand at 24.7 States of the “36 + 1” States” in consideration. Going by the mathematical rule of approximation when a figure is higher than 5, it then means that for a candidate to be declared the President, the candidate must have the majority of votes cast at the election; and also has not less than one-quarter of the votes cast at the election in at least 25 of all the States in the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

That's why Nigeria keeps going down. We accept their bullshit in the name of peace
Oloogunebi3:
My fellow Nigerians, especially the youths. Please for the sake of our collective peaceful existence, let us give peace a chance in this country.
As youths, with vibrant energy and youthful tendencies, please don't let us allow ourselves to be used to scuttle our future and the peaceful existence of the only country on the whole planet earth we can lay claims to as ours. Most of these politicians we are routing for have most if not all their families and processions based outside this country. And in the eventuality of any breakdown of law and order, they will take the next available flight and leave us to our fate. The questions arising from all these are;
1. Are these politicians/people worth dying for?
2. Is there anything we stand to gain individually that is worth sacrificing our peaceful existence for.
3. Is there any substitute for peace in our country.
4. Are we ready to experience the unpalatable happenings in Ukraine or turn our God given country to another Syria, Yemen or Afghanistan? (God forbid)
Fellow NAIRALANDERS please let us turn ourselves to peace volunteers and agents of positive change and exert our influences to maintain law and order in our immediate environment. God be with us all.
Long live the federal republic of Nigeria.

Mike Igini of INEC already cleared this before election
JuicyStar:
Falana got it right. What the law says is “….36 stars and the FCT” meaning all put together. There’s no way u would expect the drafters of the constitution to say “37 states”. The section isn’t isolating Abuja as a separate unit.

Shut up! Obi is the next president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Nobody will accept rigged results
EdoBoy90:
In an election, there is always a winner and loser. If there are irregularities in an election, the court is where such can be determined. Anyone who is not satisfied, he or she should go to the Court to challenge the authenticity of the results announced. Com. Adams Oshiomhole went to the court in 2007 when he was rigged out during the election and he won his case at the Court of Appeal.

There is no election is that 100% free, fair and credible in the world not even the United States of American Elections. But this Nigerian Presidential Election held on February 25, 2023, when compared to previous elections, I think we have improved. Although, more work needs to be done to ensure Nigerians can implement electronic voting across board even at your home, you can still cast your vote. For us to get it right and choose the right leaders to govern Nigeria, 80% of Nigerians need education. When you educate the people, you reduce electoral malpractices. Poverty and hunger are one of the causes of vote buying. This can be reduced when we have an industrialized economy mainly on production, mechanized agriculture and manufacturing.

I will highlight reasons why Mr. Peter Obi loses the election. He has the character, competence and integrity to lead us but these aforementioned are not enough to coast home to victory. There were lapses some of us saw from afar but when we raised them, we were knocked off and said it doesn't matter. Everyone is not like you and they can't think same way like you. Tribalism, religion, money and formidable team determined elections in Nigeria.

Reasons why he lose the election.

1. Running Mate: His running mate, the Vice Presidential Candidate, Mr. Datti Baba-Ahmed has zero electoral value in the North. Elections in Nigeria isn't by how eloquent or educated you are but how valuable you are electorally. It requires some level of ruggedity.

2. Low Penetration in the North: He couldn't penetrate the Northern part of Nigeria deeply. His foot soldiers couldn't do a lot of job for him in the North. Obidients would have started massive campaigns from the North not even from the South.

3. No structures and Alliances: Structures aren't stones but humans. Some people call it team or foot soldiers. Sometimes, having house of rep members, senators and Governors matter a lot. You need them especially in places you can't reach. They will help you to constantly speak with the people. Allover the world, you need alliances and structures to achieve your goals in life. The US and Israel build Alliances and Structures for the future. In our places of work, we build a formidable team. This brings unity and rebirth new ideas on how to overcome hurdles.

4. Not Enough Agents across the 176,974 polling units in Nigeria. You need your party agents. Some of these agents from other political parties might not work for you. After having the required agents, if other party agents want to work with you, then it is fine.

I must commend the Presidential Candidate of LP, Mr. Peter Obi, he has set a new precedent. I think this should be improved upon subsequently.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE INCOMING PRESIDENT AFTER THE SUPREME COURT FINAL VERDICT.

Childish argument. INEC said they're ready
gbengaeed:
INEC complained few month ago that there server are been attack by hackers and yet a Nigerian who didn't want his or her vote stolen want INEC to upload the result for hackers to manipulate, their are party agent at every pooling unit across the country with the copy of the election result of there pooling boot if what is announced on Tv is different from what your party have they can go to the tribunal to reclaim the vote. Nigerians don't like fairness, its fair when it favors them and its rigged when it doesn't.
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Exceeded All Expectations. by DMerciful(m): 2:08pm On Feb 28, 2023
We are not here for little wins. We need INEC
to follow her own guidelines and electoral law period. We're not incrementalists, we want the presidency we got mandate of from the Nigerian people
David160:
Peter obi joined Labour party only a few months ago but he was able to put up a very impressive fight. His party had zero structure and no money but he won a lot of states.. Am obidient but I wasn't even sure we would win Anambra because PDP was solid dere.. Yet obidients delivered for him. Even if we don't win the election what obi started will not die. Youths will keep voting against bad leaders till we get it right.. Our only mistakes was that we put too much confidence in inec and we trusted people like WIKE to at least play fair.

Obidients hold your head high... No politician in Nigeria today.. Not even Tinubu can do what obi did with LP in less than 9 months.. Quote me anywhere. If Tinubu leaves Apc today his career as a politician would be over.. The only reason they're leading is because they have spread and a lot of money. Thats all.

In any case, the acceptable results must come from uploaded results immediately after polling units closed
madridguy:
PMB and Masari lost Katsina. That is ok.BAT and Sanwo Olu lost Lagos that is perfect. Adamu and Sule lost Nassarawa that is good. El Rufai lost Kaduna, Ganduje lost Kano, Badaru lost Kebbi, Mala Buni lost Yobe, Inuwa lost Gombe, Lalong lost Plateau, Ayade lost Cross River.

Politics › Re: The Implication Of 25% Percent Votes In FCT. by DMerciful(m): 11:54am On Feb 28, 2023
Obi will come 1st or 2nd inspite of rigging
Tk4all:
Now that both APC and PDP failed to secure 25% votes in fct leaving only LP to get the said requirement. What will happen next?

To those saying a rerun will take place, which party will be considered?

Does it means that if a particular candidate wins the whole nigeria but failed to secure 25% in fct will not be declared winner?

Now lets say obi come a distant third behind Tinubu(1st) and Atiku(2nd) but wins fct 100%

Will he be paired with the first position for the rerun leaving out the 2nd person that scored the highest votes?

If we are to consider the first and second position for the rerun, both did not get the said 25% in fct, so what will happen in such situation.

That law can be argued but the implication of it will be too much for the courts to explain in my honest opinion

Rerun how? Constitutionally, to be declared winner, a candidate has to secure 1/3 (25%) of valid votes cast in 2/3 (24) states of the federation.
