What a joke of a country where certain people are released for killing thousands while someone is condemned to hanging for beer money. Is the auditor general that stole over 90 billion sentenced? Go and do a scan to ensure you've no fracture HeRulesMen: I don't know if this is the right section to post this, if not, mod please take it to the right section.
My online brothers and sisters, help me thank God for preserving my life as I almost left this wicked world last Friday, 13th January, 2023. 13th January has become a day I will never forget in life. Since I graduated from the university, I am yet to get a job that is well-deserving of my status. I'm not talking about big jobs with heavy remuneration (not as though I won't grab it if I see one of such) but just something to earn a living from. The last salaried job I did was a contract job which lasted only 6 months. Since then, despite my efforts, applying to every nook and cranny to land a job, I have been unlucky. However, I still keep hope alive.
However, it makes me think Nigeria really need to redefine and re-axamine the value of education in the country and what it stands for. Does it stand for nation building or for frustration? That is something for another day BTW.
Back to the topic, so with a woman and two kids to take care of, I had to go do labourer job at a construction site to earn something. That Friday was my second day in the place. I never thought it would end in disaster but I thank God that even after falling from such a distance, I didn't die, neither the mason man that was on the scaffold.
The thing is that I was carrying mortar and blocks to the mason, climbing using ladder. You know this local scaffold builders use. That thing they nailed together as V 'abi' L, place them on the wall and put planks on top to stand on. I don't know what happened that the blocks put at one end to weigh its balance failed while I was already up there. Long story short, everything collapsed and that was how we landed on the ground from the finishing end of the building. It should be a distance of 12 feet or more.
What worsened the case was the mason. As the scaffold collapsed, he immediately and unconsciously grabbed the newly laid blocks in safety attempt, not remembering he just laid those blocks. You know that kind thing. Landing on ground, that was how those blocks came upon us in their number like some sort of blast. To top it all, I didn't earn a penny that day. The man is even blaming us for the collapse.
I sustained injuries but my waist especially seems to have dislocated as a result of hitting it on ground while landin. I have been feeling sharp pains from the inside since then.
Since that Friday, I have been down physically and psychologically. As I am reflecting on it today, I decided to write it down.
No matter how it has affected me, physically, psychologically, economically and health-wise, I still thank God for sparing my life and I want you to join me in thanking him.
Thank you for reading also. |

Politics › Re: If Igbos Can Claim NOI, Why Not Nzeogu? by DMerciful(m): 6:20am On Jan 17, 2023 |
I'm an Igbo man from Delta State. Should I be held responsible for what Nzeogwu did? JAMO84: Perhaps, the most talked about issue in Nigeria since yesterday the 15th of January 2023 was the January 1967 coup, largely planned and executed by mostly Young officers of Igbo extraction. This year's anniversary of that bloody coup is different and more significant, because election is approaching, and for the first time since 1983, an Igbo person is one of the top 3 candidates with a good chance of emerging the president of the federal republic of Nigeria. The coup is always being remembered by the Northerners who suffered the most casualties.
Now back to the topic of this article, since the discussion broke out yesterday, the Igbos on social media have been trying very hard (obviously in vain), to change the long standing narrative that the insurrection was Igbo project. Some went as far as saying that Kaduna Nzeogu, the main character and leading Mastermind of the dastardly act was not Igbo, that he was an indegine of Opanam in the present day Delta State. Others say he was born and bred in Kaduna, that he was more of a Northerners than a Igbo. My questions are:
1) Why do Igbos always run away from taking responsibilities?
2) If Igbos can claim Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and always boasting with her many success, why is Nzeogu being rejected, despite they both hail from Delta State?
3) Why do Igbos always paint the picture of self perfection? As far as I can remember, none of their bad time leaders ever get blamed for anything:
a) Their sons did the First ever coup in Nigeria, it's every tribe's fault
b) Ojukwu fled to ivory Coast after leading thousands to death, it's Awolowo's fault.
a) Azikiwe refused to be prime Minister because he wanted to punish Yoruba for rejecting him in 1954, it's Awolowo's fault.
d) Nnamdi Kanu is running a terror group that is killing Igbos almost on daily basis, it's Buhari's fault
e) Simon Ekpa is declaring all sorts of sit at home, and leaving dead bodies along the way, it's Tinubu sponsoring him.....
Every single bad issue they have, someone else is responsible. If you don't acknowledge your problem and work on it, you might never find solutions. The Northerners formed civilian JTF to deal with bh and bandits. Yoruba formed Amotekun to deal with headsmen and ritualists. Both tribes accepted the initiatives and give their full supports and commitments. When Igbo governors formed Ebubeagu to tackle Insecurity in the South East region, the Igbo populace tagged them enemies of ndigbo.
Some people might ask me why I am concerned, Yoruba have an adage that says: when your next door neighbor is eating cockroach in day time, and you refused to warn or stop him, he might cough endlessly at night and deny you your sleep.

This propaganda is dead on arrival drlateef: The message is clear. Peter Obi is clearly in support of IPOB terrorists. I don’t know why INEC approves a terrorist sympathiser to be contesting presidential election. Its only in banana republic like Nigeria this can happen. In his tweet, Peter Obi condemned Boko Haram and ISWAP, but kept quiet on IPOB terrorists. It is obvious that a vote for Peter Obi is a vote to invite IPOB to invade the whole of Nigeria under the cover of peter Obi as president. My people, a stitch in time saves nine. Our biggest problem is terrorism in Nigeria right not. We have seen all the signs that the future is bleak if Obi wins this election. His supporters keep saying vote wisely. Is it wise to support a terrorists sympathiser? Have we not had enough of terrorism in Nigeria. Please my people, don’t ever make a mistake of voting Peter Obi. Otherwise, the whole of Nigeria will suffer for it. It can create civil war in Nigeria. If you dont want your family and yourself to perish under terrorism and civil war, avoid voting Peter Obi. If we are hungry and are still alive, there’s hope. Peter Obi will destroy the little hope we have by pussy-footing with terrorists. The only wise vote is for Tinubu my people. May God bless Nigeria. |

The reason Nigeria is still suffering is because they put policies of Igbo subjugation rather than policies of growth forgetting that to hold someone down, you've to be down! tinsel: Something started something. However, both coup were wrong. The first coup was what we are suffering till today in Nigeria. |

Why was the counter coup targetted at all Igbo officers instead of Nzeogwu and his boys? OkutaNla: Yes, a revolution that culminated in the mass slaughter of millions of Igbos in a needlessly war.
Akuko. Why do you Igbos love self-deceit for goodness sake If Nzeogwu coup had not happened, there would have been no counter coup which was in response to the Nzeogwu coup and targeted majorly at both Igbo officers, Aguiyi Ironsi and Igbo civilians all across Nigeria by officers of Northern extraction. Only a fool would say what you just said coz it's obvious to the blind that the counter coup was the major precursor to the Civil war due to its macabre slaughter of Igbos in Northern Nigeria as a direct reprisal against the sectional killing of Northern leaders by Nzeogwu and his boys. There would've been nothing like Aburi accord without those preceding events. Endeavor to tell yourself the truth once in a while. |
