See the useless Tweetnator that could nor run a company
successfully inspecting "GEjs" project too.

These people are the greatest clowns i have ever seen in my life. See them quoting me and spilling thrash.
Someone claimed he was going to go on exile in 2012, if he didn't construct the bridge then went to sleep, only to wake up when 2015 elections was around the corner to organise a jamboree and award a contract, not even to be built with "oyel money" o yet they are jumping unclad on this thread.

Chairman!! When was the contract awarded and you expect GEJ to complete it while out government?

Wow! "bad" and "miles ahead" in the same sentence. This OBJ lead the country under PDP, the same PDP that I hear destroyed Nigeria.

This is the cowardly attitude of THIEVES when the punishment is impending they start bringing issues to confuse the process. Nepotism is actually permitted within bounds. There is Nepotism in the oil industry, PTF et.c. the entire Amnesty program is Nepotism. I get 20 CVs from young Nigerians looking for jobs and I will do all I can to fix them up. When I do it will appear to be Nepotism but I won't give a job to anyone if them not qualified.

This is different from large scale LOOTING as perpetrated under Jonathan. Stealing from future generations is not on the same level as helping a few from the current young generations.

What are you saying?

They are likely not really militants. Smart and desperate from the ND guys who had never held scissors in their life put their names down when the government was collating names then. At least I am sure of this.
Goodluck to them and congrats. smiley

Why this assertion? Is it because they graduated with 1st Class or because they look handsome?

Reading this news keeps bringing tears to my eyes. Someone's Father and husband has been murdered without given a fair hearing. I don't think anyone should take a life he didn't create, but God knows all. TheGood Joe, keep it up but I just hope you would do this for other tribes and not condemn like some chaps here do. These are our brothers and sisters from another mother but some folks don't see it that way. Keep up the good job but remember not to be sentimental.

Let me add this, to y'all nairalanders, let him who is without sin be the first to cast the stone. Seun and his crew need to do something to curb this tribal war going on here, I could remember as far back as 2011-2013 when crimes like this were reported, everyone ( I mean the old members) commented as a Nigerian not as a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa man. That was the old nairaland I took interest in. What is wrong with nairaland now? Do I say it's filled up with kids or adults who have refused to grow up. Gosh the hatred here is terrible, it's choking and it's blinding us from seeking from the truth. I am Nigerian.

My sister I feel your pain. I agree with you about the sanity on Nairaland back then when I started following this Forum. I remember how I joined back in 2010/2011. Now there are some posts that I don't bother to open nor read because I already know what the comments would look like.

Politics / Re: Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi Speaks On The 50th Year Of Aguiyi Ironsi's Death by DobleO7: 5:44pm On Jul 29, 2016
oglalasioux:
Faguyi was part of the first coup. Though Ironsi wasn't, his apparent shielding of the coup plotters was his waterloo. Those who participated in subsequent coups in Nigeria were summarily shot according to military tradition no matter which part of the country they came from. If anyone can understand Chimamanda Adichie, it's obvious that the problems of Nigeria started when the Igbos wanted everything.

Truly, the northerners were fostering corruption at the time but who taught them corruption? Okotie Eboh remains the architect of all corrupt practices in the Nigerian system. The only thing the northerners wanted was power. Southerners were making all the money and amassing industries. The January 1966 coup was one mistake too many.

I don't think that wound healed with Ironsi's death. I don't think it will ever heal. Nigeria will continue to thrive in corruption and suspicion until it's peoples divide and form their separate nations.

Nigeria and Nigerian's have continued to live in denial. There have been so much distrust among the diverse ethnic groups and I don't think that end is in sight anytime soon.

There was enough reason for suspicion going by the pattern of the murders. If he hadn't taken over, he may well be still alive today. Danjuma learned a very important lesson from this.

I don't blame the North for the counter coup because everything had Igbo written all over it. They had to stand for something.

Aha. Does that then mean the coup didn't fail after all? If the Acting President can be taking orders from coup plotters, can you call it a failed coup? Historians on this matter have pointed out that it was more or less a coup within a coup. Ironsi had NO reason to take over.

Well from the very little that I have read the Northern military officers were not aggrieved by Ironsi's take over.

Ogbeni this is not history but commonsense. There is always a hierarchy in a democratic government. Now if the president is killed, who takes over? The most senior military man or Vice President? How about if both are killed? Isn't it the Senate Chairman who then succeeds?

Sure, the vice president is to take over in event the president was unavailable. During that time Nwafor Orizu acted as president while Zik was out the country. On the instruction of the coup plotters he handed over to Ironsi who ranked higher than other officers.

Where is the military book that you read that the most senior military person MUST take over power from Civilians in the event of a failed military coup. It is the same asswipe thinking that got Ironsi into that deep shytee .

So tell me who was suppose to take over since you have Phd in Hsitory.

Knowing the undercurrents of the coup and all the sentiments, Aguiyi Ironsi should NOT have taken over leadership at that moment in time, it only fueled speculations and the resultant commotions from Jan 1967.

He was the highest ranking military officer at the time and the right person to take over. Even the Northern military officers knew that and had little or no qualms with his ascension to power. The problem was his decision not to deal with the proponents of the coup which bred suspicion and the unquenchable desire to revenge what they believed was an Igbo coup.

I live in Lagos and go to the Arepo area, a 10 minute drive, regularly. For work and play. These facts about the militants are common knowledge there. I've even had cause to visit their camps when they were in business, believe it or not.

Ok. But the security organs saddled with the responsibility of giving out official statements are yet to categorically say they are who you say they are.

Each set of militant vandals have their target market close to them. The ones in the Niger-delta area supply ocean vessels and are the big players. The smaller fry are left to supply the local markets in busy Lagos and the South West. They are ALL ijaw/niger-deltan.

Please can you substantiate your claim that they are Ijaw/Niger Deltan?

What do you intend to achieve with this sort of submission? There are whole lot of things(factors) both historical, environmental and otherwise that you need to consider before comparing Lagos with any other state in Nigeria including Abuja.

The war in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya have been won by the united states, but we sometimes hear about surprise or suicide attacks.
I hope u won't cry ethnic cleansing, when "OPERATION EX-CROCODILE SMILE" is in full force in ND. Cos you ipod yoots seems to always cry more than we from the ND, just to force an attachment. NDA is just using u guys, and u will get dumped as usual. Have u ever wondered why the scavengers are talking about having Niger Delta Republic? Biafra will be used and dumped again cheesy

Great progress you said which better describes the states of things, but when you use the word "defeat" it means a different thing entirely.

The Ijaws should restrict their militancy/vandalism to their Niger Delta homeland.

How did you come to the conclusion that the said "gun men" are Ijaw by tribe or Niger Delta militants? No military force or any other security operatives have told Nigerians who these gun men are. Don't jump into irrational conclusion, it seems you are saying this out of hate. Hate like smoking kills gradually.

before oil, when the north was the one feeding the whole country ( remember the groundnut pyramids in kano ? ) they didnt secede, i dont see why they will start now. they are bound by higher morals in the north. it is ugandans who discover oil and all of a sudden want to secede lolzzz

Do you know that the first region that did not want one Nigeria, who said they wanted to develop in their own pace was Northern Nigeria? Do you know that the 1966 counter coup lead my Murtala Mohammed was to pull the North out of Nigeria? and were persuaded by the British not to?

The problem we are facing today in Nigeria is not because GEJ ruled for 5 years and did "NOTHING". It is because a certain clique of people who have been ruling the country since independence and have refused to leave the stage. This same people have seen Nigerians to only shout, scream after a while everyone keeps quiet and the circle of injustice, disrespect for the rule of law, thieving continues.

God bless you. It's easy to dismiss your point only if the person has lost his or her soul.

Jimi Disu said this on radio this morning and some persons were quick to peddle falsehood. I came to nairaland and same thing. These are things that brings bad blood.

Again, God bless you.

God bless you. I heard Jimi Disu too this morning say that the credit should go to Jonathan. Someone then called to say it conceived by Obasanjo, continued by Yar' Adua before Jonathan now completed it. I don't just know why some people feel GEJ should not and does not deserve any form of commendation. Why I am making this point is because we have had hues and cries of how GEJ did not do anything 6 years and how PDP destroyed Nigeria in thier 16 year rule. It is so pathetic. I am not holding brief for anybody.

Commendable. I salute GEJ for this project.
However, what I hate in all this drama is the unnecessary drama associated with it.somebody initiated/completed the Lagos-Kano rail project. Built Abuja city, built our stadiums, federal roads, universities, even state house Abuja.etc..... so what is so special about the Abuja-Kaduna rail line? Government come and go but institutions /system still remains. God bless Nigeria.

My brother, APC folks said GEJ did not achieve anything in office. Some said PDP destroyed Nigeria for 16 years as if Nigeria got independence in 1999 when PDP came to power. It is either they don't have any sense of history or they simply being mischievous because APC as government is riding on the foundations that has been laid by PDP.
