@Bmark: Is somebody hiding anonimi recent posts because I can't find them here? |
Obiagelli:If God Almighty refused to give up on us who are we, mortals, to give up on anonimi. Salvation is still possible with him. |
anonimi:You thrill me my brother with your graphics. Even though they may not depict the truth, they lighten the mood in such perilous time as we have in the country. |
joseph1832:Leave barcanista alone. Everybody has his heritage which he cannot divorce himself from. Same goes for women. |
anonimi:Your first comment is very true and should be regarded as a valid 'vote'. The second has no bearing to the issue raised. So it should be regarded as an invalid 'vote' and as rightly portrayed by you it belongs to the trash bin. |
The day politics in Nigeria will be completely separated from religion I will be the happiest man. We almost got it right with Abiola/Kingibe, both Moslems. Political opportunist/harlots will always use religion as a selfish tool to deprive us of the best brains in governance. GMB/Fashola is a match made in heaven. But will the demons in politics allow it? |
anonimi:Progressive logic starts from your immediate environment. Or do you prefer Atiku's syndrome? |
soroptimist:For the first time after a very long while Nigerians generally have started having a rethink of their very existence. If only this level of awareness was there, at least, four years ago. Well, as the saying goes it is better to be late than never. |
barcanista:Am 100% in agreement with you on this. It will surprise you to know the intensity of debates involving Jona and Buhari here in Warri . Many are fixated on account of ethno religious inclination. But many more have started asking question of whether things could have been better. Jona's case is compounded by Uduaghan's incompetence. In our small environment the enenlightment is on. |
barcanista:Keep the flag flying. When GMB is the issue I don't say much because words cannot convey the respect I have for him. I lived the Buhari era of the 80's fully. It was unfortunately cut short. My grouse with him is that he allowed his detractors to write his history and thus the near-success at dehumanising him especially in the eyes of this present generation. |
barcanista:I don't know where u dey now but na old NPA for Warri I port since last night watching this transformation. Wine can't keep me awake. |
barcanista:Ijaw man drink wine? Since when? You wan run belle be that. |
Why would Putin have a car with an insignia 'PRESIDENT' in english on it? |
The loss of a loved one especially a child or a spouse is the most painful experience there is. The trauma is indescribable. Half of you just seem to disappear while the other becomes numb. At this point soothing words from well wishers become invaluable. The greatest moment of grief is the lonely deep nights. Getting the child(ren) or a close relative to stay/share bed with you is very paramount. Madam, take solace in God and those around you. God bless. |
We already know what BH is, what they are capable of and what their stated objectives are. What we don't know is the stated objectives of our government led by GEJ on whose shoulder our security hinges. |
This is the hallmark of a failed system. No regulations and no regulators. |
PapiWata:Your post indicates that you were either not yet born or a minor during GMB era. But then a glance at history or better still reading to understand the topic will do you a lot of good. Just as the topic rightly pointed out the suitcases where in-bound not outbound. Is it clear? |
viczing:I get your drift. But I wonder why always the supporters of these politicians that end up loosing their lives. Either in APC, PDP, Accords, LP.. the story is always the same. In the 3rd republic, the followership was more in number, more intelligent, more coordinated and more ideological. There was cross party fraternity then. We drank together while recounting events in our various parties. But, nowadays, thuggery has become the currency by which politicians obtain leverage either intra- or interparty. |
viczing:My friend, why must you pursue your objective until you fall off the cliff? Despite Barcanista political leaning, which we all know, his comment was fair and square. But then the successful candidates are enfranchised to pursue their interests as they wish lawfully. Or should they be ensconced in 'Siberia' because of their filial background? |
[quote author=OrlandoOwoh post=28534916]Jonathan may have given you freedom, Soyinka got his from the Constitution.[/q ] Bulls eye! |
texazzpete:I have never seen a country so disengaged from reality like Nigeria. |
BrokenTV:Don't mind him. His Tv is broken. |
In moments of crisis the physical appearance of the president speaks much about the energy and time he spend to find solutions to teething problems facing his regime. The Nigeria of today is faced with myriads of problems chief among which is the BH insurgency. If it were only this challenge that we have we would have been better placed to tackle it. But then there are other security challenges like kidnapping, armed robbery, political killings, general lawlessness, as well as economic downturn, persistent decay of infrastructure, religious intolerance, tribal bigotry and political gangsterism. These ills, one might say, and fairly so, have been there before now but what one cannot deny is their present frightening level. They are enough challenges for a serious minded regime. Unfortunately, we have gone further to deliberatly create bigger monsters especially at the federal level. Firstly, is the shift by the FG to rule rather than to lead. I see Aso rock as the seat of the FGN (and not a seat of the PDP) whose occupant should uphold all and not some of the provisions of the constitution at all times. We expect to be treated equally and fairly by the presidency irrespective of our religious, political or tribal differences. He is our president not PDP's. But the presidency seems to be more concern with rambling with the opposition parties and waging ethno religious campaign than providing true leadership. You cannot lead when you do not deal your opponent a fair hand. Leadership includes taking shit and even bullet. A leader cares less about praise singers but more about his critics. Also of great concern is the president's re-classification of corruption. Much has been said about this. The fallout of this new 'policy' is the deafening inaction that we now see amongst the various anti corruption agencies. I ask: can the president be investigated for any crime in this country? NO! Yet Jacob Zuma is under investigation by the police in SA. Can the police lock out paliamentarians in SA. NO! A saner clime. Why can't we copy, paste and follow the good we see in others. Rather we tend to revel in the absurd. I get irritated whenever I read comments of those praising the president's handsome fresh facial looks. It is a tell tale sign of lack of serious brainstorming. Looking fresh and handsome is a luxury in stressful times. Re-evaluate the features ot IBB during June 12 saga, Ngige as a governor, Obasanjo during his impeachment saga, Uduaghan when he lost at the court, George Bush during Iraq war, Bill Clinton during Monicagate, the presidents of the countries affected by the orange revolution, and of course, the Syrian president. What you will see are features of leaders in battle. The same opposition that is being maligned today championed the implementation of the "doctrine of necessity'. Many of those in GEJ kitchen cabinet today professing unconditional love for him overtly or covertly oppossed his being sworn in as President. Or has the administration forgotten that the opposition party is part of the foundation that GEJ election was based. Many of those parading Aso rock as the MC of the president didn't support him. To whom much is given much is expected. The presidency has been brought to disrepute by the odious press releases emanating from there. Why would president's aides insult elder statement, past presidents/heads of state, world acclaimed lettered men, state governors, legislators etc. What do u expect in return. A salute? Bottom line: the presidency should act presidential. |
In saner climes GEJ regime would have been in a free fall into the dustbin of history as in the Watergate scandal. But, of course, ours is an insane clime. |
jazzydee:Why not oblige him what he has been asking for - a single classroom!!! It should not be that difficult. |
Despite the degree of decadence in Nigeria I have never heard of such commando operation against an opposition party. I hope we are not entering another crisis. |
Dannyset:That's not Okotie's wife. She is not in the photo. |
abes:Simple |
abes:I doff my hat! |
chukwudi44:Are you confused? I find your logic incomprehensible as a neutral. |
Schematics:If you were not yet begotten or of age in the second republic at least endeavour to read history. In that dispensation, the Rt Hon. Ume-Ezeoke of the NPP was the speaker of the then NPN dominated HOR. |
Very very interesting thread where there are cooks of many colors. |
