Kenai: The shameless, hypocritical coward of a woman is scared to death of Buhari. It is very clear she's still holding on to a small glimmer of hope that she'd still be given an appointment under this administration, even if it's as a town-crier.
At the very core, this woman is simply a hustler with no scruples. But she's stuck now. The BBOG outfit has been exposed as a politically-packaged scam. It has blown up on her face. She can't back out, because that would expose her as a fraud. At the same time, she can't intensify her criticism because that would kill her chances of ever gaining an appointment under this dispensation (that's what she truly wants). So now, we're left with a frustrated and emotionally unbalanced marketwoman, blowing hot and cold at every turn.
Vanguard, abeg, make una no spoil market for the woman ooo. Kenai! I thought your bigotry ended with the election but then I was mistaken. Obviously it is in your DNA to hate, even, someone with no filial nexus to a personality you've sworn to hate. Channel your energy positively. Hatred is a sin. |

Politics › Re: Buhari Must Go (#buharimustgo ) by docadams: 8:04pm On Sep 09, 2016 |
fratermathy: Buhari is not our problem. We are our own problem.
Granted, Buhari has not shown commitment in resolving some salient issues that bother on bias, nepotism, and transparency. However, he has proven himself to be honest and upright. Let's see where his ship sails to before we conclude.
The cost of fuel and the dollar exchange rate were both caused by the fall in crude oil prices and the bombing of pipes by wanton jobless boys in the creeks.
Boko Haram has been defeated. Let's not politicize this issue. Boko Haram holds no territory in Nigeria. Terrorism, however, cannot be completely eradicated. It's a gradual process and so we will still hear minor issues here and there. But we will overcome. Edo State election's postponement has nothing to do with bokoharam. It is due to security Intel. I support this because it is better to save lives and lose, as GEJ demonstrated, than to win at the cost of human lives.
Nigerians must change first before real change can occur. I have already written an article on this before. If we don't change the way we behave, our public order, our lifestyles, etc, no government policy will work for us. Buhari is 100% right on this.
The other issues you raised are senseless and petty. The budget issue was a miscalculated attempt to soil PMB's reputation but it failed. Arms deal and corruption are being fought heads on, however we perceive it. Gen. Buratai is a rich man who can get his house however he wants as long as public fund is not stolen. If there is any suspicion of corruption, I trust that we have a body that'll investigate it. Let's stop doing eye and mouth service investigation. Many people in my community have mansions and they are not politicians. Will I say they stole money to build them? Banning BBOG campaign was a police decision. Not everything must have PMB's footprint on it. The police knows why this was done. If you are looking for who to blame, blame the IG or petition the president to query the IG's decision. Finally, Buhari didn't lead us into recession. We were already heading for it the moment the price of crude started dropping. Nigeria relies solely on crude oil and that is why we are in deep sh*t now. I hope Buhari finds another alternative and lead us out from this. Also take note that a country's president is not easily removed except the president resigns which I don't see happening in Nigeria. So this campaign is dead on arrival.
As a nation, we didn't get our priorities right from the start. We've been plagued by bad and laissez-faire rulers. We need someone else to steer the boat and let's see where it leads. But for change to occur, we must make sacrifices. Gone are the days of free money. Gone are the days of mediocrity. Let us stand and build this nation. Let us stop the blame game and take responsibility. GEJ has come and gone. PMB will come and go. What remains is our collective effort.
Before you call me a zombie or another other thing you kids use nowadays, take note that I am an Urhobo from the South South and I am fully in support of the Nigeria of our dreams. If Buhari makes any bad decision, it is our duty to point it out. So far, his decisions may have been harsh but they are not bad. Nigerians are just too blind to see.
#IStandWithNigeria May that Urhobo blood continue to flow in you till old age decides otherwise. You said it the way a patriotic soul should. We condemn but never proffer solutions to teething problems nor inculcate the spirit of a people who desired redemption from backwardness. Suprising enough a few, whom I thought have a will for change cast in iron, have become turncoats within a few months of a change from the old corrupted ways of doing things. There is no easy route to greatness. Ask the Ghanaians, ask the Germans, ask the Japanese, and ask the Chinese. These are people who, when faced with survival challenge, they coalesced their varying desires into a common will... the will to succeed. |

Quakertellicus1: No, the parts were made abroad...and then assembled in Nigeria.
It is what companies like PAN, Volkswagen of Nigeria, Steyr, Leyland, and company used to do in Nigeria in the 1970's...they would import CKD (Completely knocked down ) parts into Nigeria and assemble them here into cars.
Solong as oil prices were high back then, and we could spend the dollars back then, we could do that with ease.
But back in 1973....construction work began on Ajaokuta Steel Complex...the idea being that all those car assembly plants would eventually make their cars in Nigeria...and end the imports of CKD parts. That unfortunately did not happen.
When oil crashed in 1982...the parts became too expensive to import , and eventually a new car became expensive in Nigeria...which is when the tokunbo industry began to grow....from the late 1980's on wards.(In 1975...you could get a new car for less than N6000. By 1990..that new car set you back N1million. By 1993....it was basically the government and the very rich that were buying new cars.)
What Innoson was doing was importing CKD parts from China and assembling them under the INNOSON marque. So long as the dollars were flowing in thanks to high oil prices....he could do that easily. But...once oil prices crashed, and the FG was forced to bring in restrictions on forex...that became difficult.
You see why GEJ's automotive miracle was a false mirage? We were just doing what we did in the 1970's....live on a false lie. You cannot have a good domestic car manufacturing industry without sufficient local content.
Innoson is a great man....where his problem was....his Achilles heel if you will ...was in the area of local content. You're abreast with history laden with facts. The only omission is that, unlike Innoson, the assembly plants we had then had 30% local content, viz: tyres, upholstery, lightening, wiring, nuts and bolts, floor mats, paint work and battery |

I don't know why the IBO nation, as large as it is, always fail in most collective political struggle. The great dynamic individualism that should make them stronger as a group like a bunch of broom, unfortunately, becomes their Achilles.
More surprising is the tendency to deflect attention from inherent weaknesses but rather blame imaginary enemies whenever the foundation gives in to self induced rancour and greed.
A great deal can be achieved if monetary pursuit is divorced from germane political agitation.
Painfully, the SS has also become complicit but with grand scale criminality to butt. |

I know this place too well for similar demonic reason. My kidnappers released me in the same area in Oct 2013 and was asked to jump down from the bridge. Time was 2.30am, in complete darkness. Under the bridge, there was unmistakable signs of human activity. Suddenly, the enveloping darkness was pierced by the glare of on coming traffic. Thus a delay and momentary shift of my drop zone. When, eventually, I was forced to jump it was at a lesser depth. I had to run hard and fast in the dark along the edge of the bridge until I was able to get a hold and lifted myself onto it. It was in the daytime I started hearing about the evil that was going on there.

Sanchez01: Just last year, I joined the many Nigerians who actually thought a dogged fourth time contestants woild be the best thing to happen should Jonathan be kicked. A year after, I have lost my voice around friends and family each time a political discourse comes up, most especially about the state of the economy.
Problems bothering on insecurity, power, state of the economy and corruption have all grown worse than it was under Goodluck Jonathan. Not like Jonathan would have been able to redeem the nation a second time though, and I would have still clearly voted against him if I had caught a glimpse of the anomalies ongoing before hand, but this time, I would have just given my vote to Kowa or Hope.
Without mincing words, Nigeria is presently on autopilot; President Buhari clearly has no idea on what should be done. The BBOG Buhari used as a tool during his campaign have been forgotten, more than ever Fulani herdsmen have been armed and fortified as they impact roads and streets with cow dung and horrible flies. The budget padding saga is still an issue to watch while daily corruption charges hover around the president and his minions.
Just a handful of the many APC faithfuls who are fast realizing that the Change we have is in reverse, it is worthy of note to clearly state that I have lost faith in the Buhari-led administration.
I sincerely hope Kowa would come out stronger with young, vibrant, intelligent and dynamic candidates in 2019. Hmmmmmmm Life is a marathon run by participants with varied endurance. Only the fittest reach the end. You are right to dropout whenever your strength fails you. |

But the Anu 'mpama from Daura came and removed everything in the name of 'new sheriff in-town', and people were busy hailing him.
