Hilda did well.
Some ladies aren't lucky with this period ish: irregularities, no signs, too heavy, etc.

Prayers needed pls.Dear daughter has been sick off n on for over 3weeks and we have gone to 3 different hospitals in Abuja yet...she got worse last week Thursday and we had to make an emergency trip to UK for better treatment...thank God she's responding to treatment now.
The problem now is that I started bleeding few hrs ago...red blood. So was rushed to A&E where I was knocked off immediately. I just woke up now and waiting for them to come in and tell me what's going on.i feel cramps and I'm dizzy.i don't even know how my daughter is doing. I feel very horrible and sad. But I know God is on the throne.
It is well with you and your baby dear, just as you've said 'the Lord is on the throne!'.
Please be strong and recover fast, you will have a testimony by God's grace.

Hello mommas and mommas to-be. I've been following this thread as often as I can, decided to pop in and say hi today.
I'm a first timer, getting to 6 months, haven't had much issues all along. Hoping it keeps getting smooth until delivery and beyond.
Hmmm, what do I expect? Can't even describe how I feel?

I saw some FINsters up here:

What do you call knife/cutlass in Igbo huh
Knife/cutlass is still 'MMA' the same spelling as I mentioned above, but different intonations while pronouncing.
Just like egg, bridge, wrapper are all spelt 'akwa' but with different intonations while pronouncing.
CultureRe: Chidinma Or Chidimma? by DocAdray(f): 3:21pm On Oct 29, 2017
To my own understanding of Igbo language and grammar, it's CHIDIMMA.

MMA = good, fine, pleasant
NMA is grammatically incorrect in Igbo language, it's a form of anglicising 'MMA'

CultureRe: What Is The Biggest Culture Shock You Have Had? by DocAdray(f): 7:07pm On Sep 22, 2017
I learnt from an Idoma friend of mine that their culture don't permit the use of family planning and birth control. Also, their women are traditionally and spiritually tied to their husbands via a special kolanut eaten during their traditional wedding ceremony.

I'm currently dating an Imolite who I'd like to marry.
I'd like to know, is this bride price standard or based on the family's discretion?
It's based on the family's discretion.
The father is the main influencing factor, then uncles (extended family). Don't show off to your in -laws to be, if not they are likely to 'loot'.
Just be calm, diplomatic and prepared.

All those asking whether he makes his own decisions? Well he consults his mum most times before his decision.. Though i dont confront him abt that.. My only concern is that his statement abt him dying along with his mum..
Hello dear, please run away before it will be too late. The way it seems, he's closeness to his mum is scary and true to his words, he don't mind dying for/with his mum if need be. There ll be a lot of interference in your marriage. Break up with him else you'll regret it.
FashionRe: Embracing The Beauty Of Your Natural Hair by DocAdray(f): 9:11pm On Jun 13, 2017
Lovelygurl, great job you're doing here. I've learnt a lot. Thanks
I began the transitioning process 13 months ago (precisely May 2016), and now about 80% of my relaxed hair is off. I like the new one growing out, though it's high-porosity hair and 4b I think. But I have serious issues with my edges (part of the reasons why I decided to go natural). My front/edges are really bad, scanty and falls off easily, I can't even pack my hair all back, it kinda gives me a bald woman's look, I keep packing or making side parts. I've tried pure Indian hemp powder and also Jamaican black castor oil, but no meaningful results yet. I need advice on what to do, I want to be more confident with my natural hair, I want full hair on every part of my head. thanks.

PetsRe: Ear Cropping And Tail Docking, What Is Your View by DocAdray(f): 9:31pm On Mar 22, 2017
I personally as a practicing veterinarian rarely carry out ear-cropping or worse off, tail-docking on dogs. I consider it cruel and often times attempt talking the client out of it or I refer the client to other colleagues who don't have a problem carrying out those procedures on pets.

AfroMighty:
There are some fucking whack doctors in hospitals here in Nigeria that will tell you to keep pushing till you push your last breath talkless of performing CS on cow by a Vet
Veterinarians in Nigeria also perform C.S. in ruminants. We were taught to do it in vet school. Its a common thing that we do even on the field, especially in the north during ambulatory to Fulani settlements.
PetsRe: Dog Chronicles by DocAdray(f): 7:14pm On Feb 10, 2017
ThatIgboBoy:
So far so gud,you have been discussing mostly on dogs.
Are those the only animals vets in Nigeria attend to? There is this vet that has a programme on Nat-geo wild,Dr Pol and i see him attending to different animals. He delivers cows and horses finding it difficult to deliver. He attends to dogs, cats, just name it.
But it seems most vets in Nigeria just handle dogs and many eventually become dog breeders and sellers
Veterinarians in Nigeria are trained to handle virtually all domestic animals and some wild/exotic animals too. Though, many times, practicing veterinarians attend to some particular group of animals based on their interests, location, job description, etc.
When I served Nigeria (NYSC), i worked in an integrated farm where I attended to Food Animals (livestock): cattle, sheep, goat, pigs, poultry, rabbits and fish.
Presently, I practice somewhere in the north and I handle mainly livestock, horses and other pet animals too.

My dear if you are a lover of animals or you rare them, you are bound to see strange things... I had a particular cat who always quenched her thirst throat by sucking my dog's breast.
These two creatures were always together curddling themselves as if there were of the same specie.

At a time i couldnt tolerate their excesses, I had to kill them both.. Of course, not in my time will i see Sodom and Gomora....Lol

I love pets alot, because by having them around you can never be bored...
Wow! You killed your pets, for getting very used to each other?! And here you are claiming pet-lover. Shame on you!
You are obviously worse off than the people of Sodom and Gomorrah.
