You see, African atheists are very funny. They claim they don't have a religion yet they practise a funny religion well-thought out by white men masquerading as rationalists. They are made to believe that they reason with their head, and therefore are not brainwashed. To confuse and keep them spell-bound, Charles Darwin, their prophet, came up with a fable called Evolution. They were then taught that their ancestors were formerly worms; then they became toads, lizards, monkeys, apes and finally they are here. But what man who thinks with his head would accept and hold as truth a laughable fable such as evolution? That not only makes its believers very credulous, but degrades their very existence? That teaches them that there is no difference between them and a goat? That removes all sorts of purpose from their existence and then ascribes the name "higher animal" to them? To sum up the whole joke, Charles Darwin explicitly said that his fable, evolution, has no proof, not even of fossil records. |
ValentineMary:Prithee, tell us about pre-biotic chemistry and how life came to be. |
donnffd:It's very funny because fossil records are the greatest undoing of your fairytale called "evolution." Evolution has it that everything is in the process of changing into another thing. This means that fossil records should reveal an utter absence of precise family boundaries: millions of half-developed fish trying to morph into amphibians, with reptiles half-way transformed into birds and so on. Now, what have the scientists found? Exactly the opposite. Not one single studied fossil ever shows any sign of trying to change into something else. Everything stays within well defined boundaries, contrary to evolutionist ideas. Google "the mystery of the empty strata" and see your scientists agree that their evolution is a laughable fable. |
donnffd:Oh really? Were you there 15 000 years ago? Or was the person that told you there? You know, in a bid to make their fables a bit credible, these "scientists" only mention astronomical periods of time. Who was alive 3.5 billion years ago to record evolution? |
donnffd:I believe you are talking about mutation. Scientific evidence shows that mutation is rare and when it occurs, has negative effects on organisms that mutate i.e. it is detrimental and destructive to the organisms. Therefore, mutation leads to destruction rather than evolution. Darwin himself conceded that most mutants are recessive and degenerative. How then could mutation drive the process of Natural Selection which supposedly produces better species? |
donnffd:Who or what has proved evolution? What concrete, undeniable proofs exist of evolution? |
donnffd:You are preaching evolution, aren't you? What was the first living thing on earth and how did it evolve into all the forms of life on earth today? |
donnffd:Have you concluded I won't believe your story when I haven't even heard it? Is it that the story doesn't make sense or what? Can you introduce me to evolution? How did life begin? |
Can you tell us where dolphins came from? |
Donnffd, Pray, tell us how the different forms of life on earth came to be. |
ValentineMary:Tell us how evolution produced all the different forms of life and how everything that is alive now came from a single cell in the ocean. |
raphieMontella:This is just like asking me to provide a verse in the Bible where GOD says we should not masturbate or smoke cocaine. But We know that GOD is not in support of these things. However, consider this: "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach..." 1 Tim. 3:2 Do you see that monogamy is one of the qualifications of a bishop in GOD's church? Do you see that a polygamous man is not allowed to lead GOD's church? Does this show that GOD supports polygamy? A careful and unbiased study of the Bible will reveal that polygamy was never and will never be GOD's plan for man. |
raphieMontella:Okay. Can you give me a single verse in the whole of the Bible that shows GOD is in full support of polygamy? |
raphieMontella:You're getting yourself confused: are we talking about a man whose wife is dead, or a woman whose husband is dead? I said explicitly that although GOD allowed men to marry many wives, He was never in support of it. It wasn't His original plan for man. And check the whole Bible; nothing good -- absolutely nothing good is ever spoken about polygamy. In Exod. 21:10, GOD was simply giving guideline on how a man is to treat his first wife if he marries another to avoid mistreating the first wife. Read carefully. This in itself is another problem of polygamy; assuming a man had only one wife, will there be another woman to mistreat? or to love less? |
Come to think of it: if, at any time, any man ever needed more than one wife, it would be Adam. Amid the vast forms of life which swarmed the earth: beasts and birds and fishes, Adam was the only one of His kind. Surely he needed many people to keep him company and ease boredom, no? Yet GOD in His infinite Wisdom gave Adam just one wife. Do you think He ever had polygamy in mind for man? |
EyeHateGod:There is nothing wrong with my logic. However, there is everything wrong with yours: GOD chose to create a man. And for that man, he created only one woman. (1 Cor. 11:9) Why GOD didn't make more than one man? It pleased Him not to do so. Procreation rested on the one man He created. |
hopefulLandlord:First of all, GOD saw that Adam was lonely. He made Adam fall asleep and he took a rib from his side and made Eve, a woman. Now, we believe GOD knows what is best for us. If Adam needed more than one wife, why did GOD not take two or more ribs from his side and make many wives for him? Doesn't this show GOD had monogamy in mind for man? Gen. 2:24 "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." GOD did not say "cleave unto his wives." In Matt. 19:3-9, Jesus says the two shall become one flesh. He did not say the three or four or five shall become one flesh. Moreover, Christ Himself has set us a good example: He is betrothed to only one virgin: one church. And He will get married to only her in Heaven. |
raphieMontella:NO! Exodus 21:10 doesn't say you can take a man's wife while the man is alive, and so GOD was speaking through Paul. I quoted 1 Cor.7:39 because I was adressing the fact that David took over Saul's house and wives. |
raphieMontella:Deut. 21:15 doesn't say "thou shalt take unto thee more than one wife" does it? As a matter of fact, the verse begins with "if" -- "if it happens that a man takes two wives..." GOD was giving guidelines in that verse as to how a man is to treat the offspring of his wives. Now, a man can never take another man's wive as long as that man is alive, because a woman is not free as long as her husband is alive. However, she is free if her husband is dead. (1 Cor. 7:39) Notice that GOD handed over Saul's household and his wives to David after Saul's death? Notice also that David took Bathsheba only after Uriah's death. |
EyeHateGod:Any country in this world has a ruler, and a law/constitution, and a set of penalties for breaking its law/constitution. Ancient Israel practised Theocracy: GOD was King over them. And so they had no physical king. GOD's constitution by which He ruled Israel was the 10 Commandments. Now, we are talking about GOD and not man. A GOD who hates sin with a hatred that cannot be uttered. And what is sin? Breaking GOD's law. (1 Jn 3:4) Now, transgressing the commandments attracted varying degrees of penalties which GOD himself as King over them set. Stealing involved restituting (in many cases, more than twofolds). Breaking the Sabbath involved death. However, theocracy ended with ancient Israel and nobody has the right to take another man's life for any reason whatsoever again. |
EyeHateGod:Yes, just as He loved the woman caught in adultery. Now, polygamy is not according to GOD's plan, though GOD allowed it. Israel asked for a king over them. This wasn't GOD's plan for them, but he allowed it and gave them Saul as king. Did you know meat-eating was not part of GOD's plan for man? GOD created Adam a vegetarian. (Gen. 1:29). But after the flood, GOD permitted meat. So, GOD allowed polygamy, but He doesn't support it. |
EyeHateGod:Yes, and a careful study of the Bible reveals that stoning non-virgins to death is not part of what GOD wants His church to do. |
Moreover, polygamy only brought trouble and problems to the men who practised it. Abraham through the bondwoman gave birth to Ishmael which was to strive with Israel. Solomon's many wives led him astray from GOD and caused him to go a whoring after other gods. David had to shut up his concubines and never knew them again till his death because Absalom went in to them. Surely GOD didn't plan these things for these people, did He? No! |
raphieMontella:The bolded part: How? 2 Sam 12:8 "I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom..." It simply means GOD gave David control over everything that belonged to Saul. Polygamy was already in practice, and David took Bethsheba, Uriah's wife too. Was that GOD's plan for him? No. |
raphieMontella:GOD was never, is never, and will never be in support of polygamy. True, many of GOD's people were polygamists, but it doesn't mean that was GOD's plan for them. First, GOD knows one woman is enough for a man, and so He created only Eve for Adam. He knows what is best for us. And to show his disapproval of polygamy, GOD says that the position of a bishop in the church must never be occupied by a polygamist. (1 Tim. 3:2) |
EyeHateGod:We don't stone non-virgins to death. Jesus never passed a death sentence on the woman caught in the act of adultery. Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost. |
raphieMontella:Well, Sunday is not and has never been the right day of worship according to the Bible. Saturday is. |
raphieMontella:Yes, by the grace of GOD. |
raphieMontella:The Seventh-day Adventist Church. |
The fact that many factions exist within Christianity was clearly prophesied by the Bible. Among all those churches you listed, there is only one that abides strictly by the Bible. |
goodnews201668, Prov. 8:22 says: "The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old." It is clear that Whoever the verse is talking about, GOD possessed/had that Person with Him ever since He Himself existed. Verse 23 says "I was set up from everlasting..." You JWs say Prov. 8:22 is talking about Jesus Christ. You also say Jesus Christ was created. If Jesus Christ was created, then GOD didn't possess/have Him in "the beginning of His ways." It means He came into the picture later on. How can Jesus Christ be with GOD since "the beginning of His ways" and still be created? And how can Jesus be set up from everlasting if He had a beginning i.e was created? |
Mockinbird:You're welcome. |
