Nigeria is not safe for expatriates. In the north, there is risk of being killed by boko haram while in the south, you might end up being kidnapped. An expatriates cant live his life in peace and must always have police security.

AreaFada2:
Considering the huge increase in number of graduates now and the fact OBJ took over from a military regime, the need to hire staff was higher then.

Then came the world economic crisis just as OBJ left power. Then came the banking sector crisis in Nigeria with thousands sacked.

The room to create jobs has been far less in GEJ's time. The sectors creating jobs like Agric is not popular with many graduates.
GEJ has not done bad at all.

one of the few sensible posts in this thread
Car Talk / Re: Nissan Rolls Out First 'Made-In-Nigeria' Cars (Photos) by DoctorMcgruff: 5:11am On Feb 21, 2015

My question is how much Is the car in question, does the price commensurate with the actual and normal economy of common man on the street. If not then we re yet to reach our standard cos the government should find a ways to make life better for common man and not the other way.

is it not the common man that is working there?

OtunbaJega: My opinion:

1) The figure was inflated
2) Manufacturing jobs = Factory workers... Chinese, indian and lebanese companies come to mind.. Unskilled labour, No workers compensation, No job security, long working hours (including night shift and overtime), low wages, hazardous workplace conditions.... That one na job?
3) Can they also tell us how many jobs were lost due to epileptic power supply, corruption and poor economic policies

yeye dey smell....

Keep Keshi, I have to say that for the first time in a while this team needs continuity. Keshi given more time can make this team a formidable force. remember keshi had a goal to build a team for russia 2018 either way... but new blood needs to be brought in to mix with the new and looking at the movements of several U-17 Players like Yahaya, Kelechi and Chidi along with others like imoh ezekiel, olaitan....the hope is all these players along with the onazi's emenikes, uchebos, juwons, eldersons, omeruos and more, find solid playing time in their clubs...i have no doubt nigeria will turn heads even more in the next world cup

Culture / Nigerians Carrying Certain European Names by DoctorMcgruff: 2:12pm On Nov 01, 2012
Ive always wondered why some nigerians carry certain distinct European Names, and it is very common. For instance the name Haastrup, although its German i find that many Nigerians carry that name. Henshaw from the calabar area is also very common there. Bassey seems like a European name that many people carry. Then in the Lagos Area names like Macaulay and Crowther. Now mind you i dont mean common English Surnames, but certain distinct ones that are popular ..How come?

cheddarking:

It is obvious you know absolutely NOTHING about the bible.
Jesus is not/has never been a pushover.
Rev 19:11-21 describes Jesus as being "clothed in a robe dipped in blood" and commanding "the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, following him on white horses"

Verse 15 goes on to say "From his mouth comes a sharp sword vwith which to strike down the nations, and whe will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress with the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty"

Does he sound like a Pacifist to you?

Why will the God who has good plans for you ask you to submit yourself to your oppressors?

I repeat...Any Christian that prays for his enemies...or professes to 'love them' is a F00l. Just as you are!

a very irrelevant use of the word to backup your arguement.

The answer is no,why pray for them to die when you can pray for them to be saved Why not pray that God reveal himself to them.

Politics / Re: Say Something Positive About Nigeria by DoctorMcgruff: 1:05pm On Jul 02, 2012
What can i say, when you push all the negatives aside, Nigeria is one of the best places to live on earth. All kinds of weather and no snow. The culture is amazing and very hospitable. the types of food you can get, the types of beer the types of music makes nigeria a very dynamic country. Nigerians are easily one of the funniest people aswell and very entertaining. Imagine sitting infront of the screen at a bar with nigerians watching the super eagles. Nigerians are family oriented, where else do you see people building homes in their villages to be close to their famillies. One can only imagine that if the country had developed as it should have, it truly would have brought out the best of us. Our time is coming though
