Godoverevery: Doing the same how? The last time I checked Abia is a PDP state and OUK is APCs bride in the east. Check again oga, there are no godfathers in the whole of igboland. When you finish your term, you try to put someone who won't disturb you, and you find your way 7 Likes |

Pimpmaride: Leave story. We are not untruthful to ourselves. We know the states in the South East that has been unfortunate with governance since the return to democracy (Abia and Imo), and the citizens of those states as well as ndigbo are quite straight forward about it. The other states have enjoyed good enough leadership using the nigerian mediocre standard of leadership as a measuring tool. The reason why Tinubu is always on the mouth of every truthful and sincere nigerian is that he has been robbing Lagos (and by extension all who live and do business in lagos) legally for the past 21 years and instead of some of you to admit it, you want to rob it on our faces that he is a saint in the category of John the Baptist. It is annoying. Tinubu is a very intelligent rogue. Kiss the truth. 4 Likes |

Exponential101: There isn't any Godfather there at the moment. OUK ( a failure of a governor) handed over to T. Orji ( a worse failure) who has now handed over to this one. All the governors have been in full charge of their states, yet they've hardly seen any dividend. Abia's (and Imo) people matter need divine intervention. The presence or absence of godfatherism isn't their problem. |

fykes: How youths who should be bothered about their future and the future of their children would be supporting godfatherism and election rigging baffles me beyond measure. Me I don't understand. The truth is that Tinubu has made a mess of some Yoruba guys mentality. Every 1999 governor installed their choice of governors after their tenure, wanting to be godfathers. The strong guys immediately dealt with their godfathers and ended godfatherism in their respective states till date. I blame Fashola for all these rubbish, he started fighting Tinubu too late in his first term. And it was that first 4 years of Fashola's reign that made jagaban what he is today. The political structure of Chimaroke Nnamani in Enugu state was much stronger than what Tinubu had built as at 2007. If you are from Enugu, you would understand what i'm saying. The structure was not just strong, it was also deadly, they killed at will. Yet Sullivan Chime dismantled that structure on the day of his swearing in as Governor. Chimaroke's political structure was known as Ebeano. The moment Sullivan was sworn in at Okpara Square, the teaming crowd started screaming "Ebeano, Ebeano". To everyone's surprise, Sullivan told the people there and then that Ebeano had come to an end. That was the end of the Ebeano political structure and godfatherism in Enugu state till date. Chimaroke tried to hold ground, but the governor hit the ground running and within one year, he had ensured that Chimaroke was quarantined to his senate position in Abuja. And after 4 years, Chimaroke couldn't as much as win a reelection ticket to the senate. When Chime handed over to Gburus in 2015, he didn't even as much as send nominees for commissioner. He simply moved to APC so that nobody would disturb his life for him. He has since moved on. I agree with you, Obaseki started fighting quite late. I hope they can withstand the APC rigging machine. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Tinubu is Nigeria's symbol of godfatherism, as such he shouldn't get himself publicly involved in any political battle that is hinged on godfatherism. He should have just continued working in the backgrounds. Having related with lots of Edo guys over the years, if not for APCs dependence on rigging the elections with federal might, they can't get 10% of votes cast under the present circumstance. Edo people no dey like make person dey ride them. On a good day, POI would have done much better as a lone ranger than with these slave drivers supporting him. 1 Like |

chukwuibuipob: Kindly state his options chief. At least he still has a chance to remain governor. And if not for APCs complete dependence on rigging and vote buying, he is sure to win. Where is Ambode at the moment? You have a defeatist/slave mentality. Work on it before it ruins you. God made men to be dugged. 1 Like |

Lipscomb: Deep down inside you, if both men were closely related to you, who would you be more proud of? Remember, Ambode has still not gotten anything for stooping, and he is very unlikely to get after missing the senate. Win or loose, Obaseki has made a name for himself as the man who wouldn't bow out without a fight. If he is eventually rigged out, he will enjoy his loot with a greater sense of dignity, telling himself " I fought like a man". But i tell you bro, somewhere in Ambode's mind, he would be telling himself " I should have fought like a man. Maybe, Just maybe things wouldn't be this way". In life, don't allow fear stop you from fighting just battles. Especially battles that you have nothing to loose even when you dont win. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Yet they don't have the moral rectitude to call out Buhari. If you ask them what the problem is, they will tell you that the security forces are not doing their job well, that the president has given them everything they need. For the northerners especially the elites, Buhari is infallible. Let them continue running, when the bandits have completely taken over their states, they will head for Abuja. Maybe they will consider moving from Abuja to Nsukka at that point. Ndi Nzuzu, umu ekwensu. 4 Likes |

We have been saying for ever: we need to rejig this shithole of a country as anything else is a waste of time. The north has been in power for a better part of the nations independence, but is still the most poverty, illiteracy and insecurity stricken region in the country. What else do we need to know that zoning is useless? I'm supposed to be supporting Orji Uzor Kalu who wants to be president as an igbo man; but i ask myself: to what end? Orji was useless as a governor. he couldn't do shit for Abians for 8 years, but he is supposed to now make igbo land paradise as president? Rubbish. To hell with Igbo presidency or any presidency. Just restructure this thing or better still let all of us go our separate ways and just maybe we may see genuine progress for our various nations in our lifetime. Ezennwa: God pass them how exactly? weather he is saying it for selfish reasons or not, what he is saying is the truth. Lets say OUK or Rochas become president tomorrow, how exactly will it favor your children and grandchildren? or you are looking for bragging rights on nairaland? The igbo man that will become president will only benefit his family and close allies from the east, west, north and south. If you do not know, there are many igbo men making a kill from this government while many people from daura are dying of hunger. There are igbos doing big contracts in lagos and many from iragbiji or wherever Tinubu is from that have died of penury. The present political system is Paddy Paddy. AntiWailer: Weaken the center, empower the regions, stop the sharing of oil money, let every region fend for themselves, get the charlattans out of government (since free money wont be available anymore) and no one will talk about Biafra again. 15 Likes 1 Share |

This guy wants Burutai out by all means. While i admire his courage and supposed good intent, its very wrong for him to accuse the military falsely, while exonerating the commander in chief of the military (President). On what basis will the military be attacking a governor? It is this infallible status that these northerners continue to bestow on buhari that sustains his cataclysmic incompetence. |
