PoliticsRe: Mass Media Is Responsible For My Government's Failure. JONATHAN by Dollarman101: 10:48am On Aug 23, 2012
Another bad tactics to twist Mr. president's message to score cheap political points. But I'm happy we are all educated and can read in between lines.
What the president means clearly is that a section of the mass media controlled by opposition forces are responsible for giving a false impression about his performance in office so far.
It is not in doubt that some Nigerians have been misled into the thinking that the president is not performing by the media owned by notable leaders of the opposition.
While Tinubu is working hard through the Nationnewspapers to discredit Jonathan, Buhari's CPC has engaged the services of Mallam El Rufai to paint the govt back on twitter.

However, most Nigerians are aware of the antics of the opposition and acknowledge genuine efforts of this administration at reforming every sector in the country.
It is to this caliber of Nigerians that the president has deemed it fit to evaluate the performance of his ministers one by one.
PoliticsRe: Salaries Of Niger-delta Militant Warlords Revealed by Dollarman101: 10:24am On Aug 23, 2012
The last time I checked, Andrew YAKUBU, the NNPC MD said oil production and export had hit an all time high of over 2 million barrels per day.
There are no more cuts in production nor blowing up of pipelines resulting in shutting down of production by oil companies.
SPDC has not declared force majure for a long time now.
Oil revenue from exports has peaked enabling proper funding for the budget.
If these payments to the very sons of the soil which lays these golden oil is what is required to achieve this feat then so be it.
It doesnt come close to the amount embezzled daily by the oil cabal.

hillsate: Prayers?!!!
Mr president sir, is it the same prayers you refused to say "amen" to or the ones that restricts the number of "amens" you say?
Mr President sir, why did you choose to go round the country campaigning to be elected rather than stay at Aso Rock and pray that you win the election.?
Mr president sir, why did you have to employ Okupe to do some dirty work for you rather than pray that people would stop insulting you?
Mr president sir, why do you move around with retinue of security agents rather than pray that God protects you?
Mr president sir, why did you have to budget about 1 billion naira to feed rather than pray that God would fill your stomach?
Mr president sir, as far as security is concerned Nigerians have prayed
but you haven't; because if you have prayed God would have reminded you that you are the president and commander-in-chief of the Nigerian Armed forces.
The knife and the meat is in your hands!
MR FOOL, mr president never said he was not going to put up any human effort in support of his prayers.
He only said that prayers will help him as always to overcome these challenges. And unless you re Satan sent, you will agree with him.

dedeike: It's so funny how we make a mountain out of every mole hill erected by the president. This shows how confused and jobless some folks can be.
Until now, I didn't know we have these number of pagans in Nigeria.
Simply because the president asked, in a Muslim festive season, that we should keep praying hence this hairsplitting. Tufaikwa!

I beg to ask some few questions.
Did the president say he was going to abdicate his constitutional duties for prayers?
Did the president say he has asked all ministers to stop working and proceed to a praying and fasting session?
Has the president withdrawn JTF from Maidugri and asked them to go and pray?
Has the president directed Okonjo Iweala to stop implementing the budget for prayers?
Has the president directed Barth Nnaji to stop improving on power supply and proceed to mountain of fire for prayers?
Has Maku come to tell us that the Federal Executive Council resolved to go and pray?

Please let's stop this rubbish and be wise for once

PoliticsRe: We Will Negotiate With Subsidy Cabal - Okonjo-iweala by Dollarman101: 2:12pm On Aug 17, 2012
Which kind people be dis? The way you guys construe a story makes me shiver. I'm tempted to believe that some of us think through the anus.
Before our very eyes, the govt is hitting the oil cabal hard with probes, trials and attempts to withdraw subsidy. The finance minister is working hard daily to make sure that monies are not stolen again through subsidy management. Before payments are made, there must have been serious verifications and due process causing delays in payment. Again, there is a need to implement the AIG committee report.

The cabal is not happy with these rigorous processes and the move to enorce AIG. They want to throw us back to the old order of over invoicing and embezzlement of subsidy claims. They started this strike with a view to causing pressure on govt to release their claims immediately without adherence to due process and the implementation of the probe report. The end result is the conspiracy that has led to the resurfacing of long queues.

What then will a responsive govt do? Shut its eyes to the long queues and continue on their sanctions on oil marketers? No.
Okonjo Iweala,, God bless her, has singled out some oil marketers with little infractions on the subsidy regime for negotiation. these marketers are those whoose sins are not much in the subsidy scandal. The negotiation wil take the form of plea bargaining. Refund us so and so while we pay you so and so inorder for the masses to have fuel.
The major looters, especially those who collected money without importing fuel, will still continue to face the full wrath of the law.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigerians Ridicule Nigeria by Dollarman101: 4:17pm On Aug 15, 2012
Player01: Nice piece, beautifully written. Nigeria has done nothing for most of us - except for the the 'lucky' ones whose progenitors found themselves in governments.
Shut up! Nigeria has not done anything for you but I'm sure you were born in our general hospitals, where almost everything is subsidised including ante natal. Inspite of all the criticism, teaching hospitals and federal medical centres remain the number one destination for health care delivery for a vast majority of Nigerians.
You must also have passed through our unity schools or graduated from any of our federal or state universities which is the most subsidized in the world. Make you take time to ask your friends schooling abroad, how much they pay as school fees. You use our airports including MMAI which is ranked top 10. You ply some good roads in Nigeria without paying taxes or tolls.

Govt subsidizes your electricity bills so that you can pay as low as N7.00 per Kwh. Google electricity tariffs in Uk or other advanced countries and see what Nigerian govts subsidies for you.
If you re from Niger Delta, you collect bursary from your state govts. While you grew up, your only window to knowledge and the world may have been NTA. Recall the educative programmes like sesame street, kiddies vision 101, tales by the moonlight. Is NTA a private Ghanian company?
Make una dey think before talking. We know say things never better but that one no suppose make us dey misyarn.

Don't say what you don't know. What do you mean by GEJ is not doing anything for northern christains? You know how many northern christains that have been elevated to positions of authority since JONA came in? You know how many road projects that he is undergoing in areas dominated by Northern christains? In Kaduna alone, there is the Kaduna Eastern bye pass road being done by Gej . Lafia-Obi-Awe roads. Are the northern christains not beneficiaries to the ongoing power reforms and improvement in power. The Abuja-Kaduna rail way is in progress.

On security, the Fg is not resting on his oars. There is the JTF operations. Soldiers are dominant in the streets of Kaduna. When Zaria was attacked, the president rose to the occasion and deployed more soldiers to curtail it. He met With service chiefs alongside the Governor to impose curfew on the state. When the security forces came ontop of the situation, the president had to travel in honour of an international obligation.
There is nothing to suggest that the security situation relapsed due to the president's absence. It was even around that period that Bama was killed by JTF. Abeg make we dey talk reasonably.

Look, if you see the billions wey these northern corrupt civil servants in NNPC and PPPRA they make through subsidy, you go shock.

It's difficult to read through your garbage without paragraphs. But I go try. The problem with so many of you guys is that you don't know anything about governance and cannot even make an objective assessment of one.
For your mind, the removal of subsidy was done to exploit you. So despite all the economic reasons behind the policy, you still hold strongly to this layman view. SMH.
I don't know how else to explain this to you. But I go try. Govt removed subsidy so that they go deregulate the market. The advantage of deregulation be say private individuals will be attracted to operate refineries in Nigeria. The voodoo be say govt is not a good businessman everywhere. They suppose comot hand so that private sector will take over,
When private people take over, importation will stop. When importation stops, prices go drop because no more shipping money ontop our fuel.
Employment go full. Competition go dey. When competition dey, customer is king. When customer is king, prices go fall.

PoliticsRe: Beware Of Okonji-Iweala`s Advice : Reps To Jonathan by Dollarman101: 11:31am On Jul 30, 2012
dedeike: Profile in excellence which haters and ignorance cannot wish away.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala
The undisputable power-house in the Jonathan administration, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who doubles as the Coordinating Minister for Economy and Minister of Finance, no doubt, added credibility to the cabinet based on her formidable credentials locally and internationally.

A stickler for probity and excellence, Okonjo-Iweala’s persistent campaign for the effective management of the nation’s resources informed the government’s decision to adopt fiscal discipline, cut down on waste, and rein in debt and the budget deficit, especially in the 2012 budget.

This resulted in slight reduction of recurrent expenditure this year. Her target, however, is to cut recurrent spending to about 65 per cent of the total budget by 2015 so that more resources can be deployed on capital projects.

The minister, who narrowly lost her bid for the presidency of World Bank, has worked on rebuilding the nation’s decimated savings in the Excess Crude Account (ECA), which currently stands at $4.3 billion, and this is despite the monthly withdrawals by the three tiers of government. She has also been in negotiations with the 36 states of the federation to start up the Sovereign Wealth Fund as a replacement for the ECA.

Under her watch, the government established the Subsidy Re-investment Programme, through which savings accruing to the three tiers of government from the partial removal of the subsidy on petrol, can be deployed to projects. In her bid to keep the public informed on the savings, her ministry each month publishes the figures accruing to the federal, states and local governments under SURE-P.

The finance minister is carrying out bio metric evaluation of federal civil servants  to reduce waste. The exercise is yoelding fruits as it uncovered the pension scam of over 32 billion. The scam involved Abubakar Kigo, a former perm sec at the office of the head of civil service of the federation and 5 others. There is the new integrated online payment system which helps the minister monitor transfer of public funds from CBN.
This system also ensures that suspicious allocations in the budget are blocked.
Corrupt minds are not happy with these stringent measures hence the outcry
Whenever you see these corrupt politicians and civil servants crying for somebody's sack, just take it that the publi official in question constitutes a hindrance to their corruption moves.
I'm sure of this.

Just take some moments to listen to yourself. "Govt obtained 80 units of BMW from coscharis and 120 EXOCTIC CARS like HONDA, JAGUAR AND OTHERS" and you believe this trash?
Even a toddler agrees that Coscharis is the authorized dealer of BMW and German cars. But to say that govt decided to go to coscharis for " other exotic cars" is an insult on our intelligence.
If govt wants to buy Honda cars, the destination will be at Honda place. I don't know what you mean by exotic cars? Aren't the BMW cars exotic? This is how to know a sensational report. They always lack specificity.
