PoliticsRe: Labaran Maku Quotes The Nairaland Critics Of GEJ #team-clueless! by Dollarman101: 7:02pm On Oct 28, 2013
GEJ is working. Those who abuse don't know any better.
He is going to end up as the best president ever with the what he is doing in the electricity sector. He is very intelligent. FDI's are now flowing into the power sector. Mikano is coming to Set up manufacturing plant to build spare parts and transformers for new distribution companies in Nigeria. Siemens has started building in calabar. GE is partnering with Transcorp for the recently commissioned GEREGU.

Things can only get better under GEJ

Add clueless, retardeeen, weak, and everything to it. It doesn't change the transformation agenda.
It doesn't stop me from voting him either in 2015.

It's all envy and jealously for a president who defeated their paymasters at the polls in 2015 and will repeat same in 2011. grin

You keep abusing him, he keeps making progress and succeeding. So what's the essence? People like me and millions of Nigerians love him to continue. Kini big deal? grin

ASUU is gradually killing the very educational system which they pretend to protect.
Right inside the inner recesses of their mind,They know that FG cannot meet all their demands. It's totally impossible. But yet they insist on keeping innocent students at home even after the govt has committed 100 billion to infrastructure and 30 billion for their allowances.
Well meaning Nigerians should appeal to ASUU to heed to common sense.

I voted for GEJ in 2011 and will still vote him again in 2015.
He has delivered on his key promises like power reforms. I'm proud of him.
So many Power plants are coming up.
PoliticsRe: President Jonathan Commissions 500MW Omotosho Power Plant by Dollarman101:
grin bad belle people don start to wonder. I don't know why some fellows have repeatedly vowed to oppose anything Jonathan.
If this thread was about Fashola commissioning a project, our ear drums could have been filled with noise and sloganeering of "Eko ONI baje ooo". But since it's GEJ, it must be criticised.

Be that as it may, the transformation agenda of mr president is seriously on track and catapulting Nigeria to that enviable height where other developed nations thread. We have a president who is able to work on 10 power plants in less than 3 years thereby surpassing the number of plants delivered by all his predecessors combined.

Not done, GEJ has gone ahead to take the gigantic step of Privatising PHCN which has used bureaucracy to plunge the nation into age long darkness. It is indeed remarkable and represents a milestone in our quest for development.

For his reforms in power alone, Jonathan already has my vote for 2015.

Naijagunner83: Who is this whiz kid? Look at how you just assembled your ignorance and chose Nairaland as a platform to advertise it.
Are you for real? So in your empty skull, you don't know that ETF has been specialized as TETFUNDS since 2011?

When I saw this topic, i was shocked and rushed to see the newspaper that is so d.umb to generate this ignorant story. I felt a bit relieved that it was not a newspaper publication but the figment of imaginations of an ignorant fellow.

In your desperation to label GEJ as clueless, you have exposed how ignorant and dumb you are actually.
Next time, learn to ask questions and make proper verification of your facts before posting topics.
Thank you.

PoliticsRe: GEJ The Play Maker. Our Number 10! by Dollarman101: 2:54am On Oct 14, 2013
We are in the path to solid transformation in all areas of national development.
Sports will not be left behind. GEJ is doing all he can to make sure that Nigeria succeeds in all sporting activities.
He paid an unscheduled visit to National Stadium Abuja and discovered how bad the turf had degenerated and he ordered the immediate regrassing of the entire stadium.
He is the first president to pay unsheduled visits to camp to encourage eagles to work hard.
He did it before the nations cup.
He did it in Ethiopia.
He is just our number 10.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Administration: What Went Wrong? by Dollarman101: 10:11am On Oct 11, 2013
grin grin what went wrong is that some Abokis see power as their birthright. Therefore they are not happy that GEJ, a minority, is president.
For this set of people, everything GEJ does is bad. Nothing is good for them. Meanwhile, the man is working seriously.

In power, the man has completed 10 NIPP Power plants in less than 3 years and is privatizing
PHCN-GENCOS/DISCOS

in Rail, the man has refurbished Lagos-Kano, itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri, Eastern Line, Enugu-PH. Etc

In Roads, the man has completed owerri-Onitsha, Zaria-Funtua-Gusau and is rehabilitating Enugu-PH(Aba-Umauhia) Ibadan-Ilorin, Benin-ore, Kano-Maidugri, East-west Abj-Lokoja and flagged off Lagos-Ibadan.

In aviation, the man has built a new general Aviation Terminal in Lagos, upgraded Enugu Airport to host international flights, remodeled Abuja, Kano, Benin, Owerri, PH Airports etc

In Agriculture, the man is spearheading the cassava bread revolution, new rice mills, fertilizer distribution reforms etc

In finance, the man has cut down on domestic borrowing from $800m in 2011 to $500m in 2013, built back ECA to 9B, foriegn reserves now stand at over 48B and SWF established with a seed capital of $1B

PoliticsRe: Nasarawa Crisis: We Were Left At Mercy Of Ombatse - Survivors by Dollarman101: 1:39am On Sep 17, 2013
grin grin E be like say this HURILAW peeps get special interest for APC or Governor Tanko Al Makura Otherwise I no see the reason why they will avoid the real issues and question Maku's additional defence Portfolio.

Ombatse has been operating with or without Maku as defence Minister. Maku was not defence Minister when they unleashed mayhem on policemen and SSS. Maku was not defence Minister when the director of SSS and the Police boss executed an unprofessional operation that exposed our young officers to gruesome murder in the hands of the militia. Maku was not defence Minister when Gov Al Makura mobilized the ill fated operation.
Our problem in this country is that we play politics with almost everything. Rather than trace the root of this crisis(which obviously borders on a pact with the so called militia and Al Makura for 2011 Elections) they are busy trying to shift attention.
PoliticsRe: All 36 Governors Agreed To Participate In The Good Governance Tour-Gov.Uduaghan by Dollarman101: 1:02am On Feb 22, 2013
Vogue50: The Governor of Delta State , Dr Emmanuel uduaghan , has reiterated That all the governors approved the Good Governance Tour Exercise before its commencement and also applauded the minister for Information , Labaran Maku , for his initiative and progress so far.
The essence of the Tour isn't to undermine the efforts and achievements of any Governor , especially non- PDP Governors but to enlighten the public about giant strides so far taken by Government , showcasing justifiable achievements made by the States and federal Government Respectively.
The Good Governance Team were in States - nassarawa , Imo and anambra - that are non-PDP , the Governors of these states acknowledged and commended the Team. I see no reason why oshiomole would resolve to cheap blackmail all of a sudden to berate their well deserved commendations !
I am well convinced that all these blackmail ,ranting and dissatisfaction by Gov.Adams and Lia Mohammed is just the beginning of a new political Ploy to create cheap popularity for their new Party- CPC and redicule all the achievements shown so far by Labaran Maku led Team.
I won't be surprised if the South -West Governors ,excluding Gov. Mimiko Should behave likewise.
GBAM! END OF DISCUSSION!
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Wont Use State Resources For Good Governance Tour by Dollarman101: 1:53pm On Feb 20, 2013
A-ZeD:
The GGT is pure rubbish. Do people of edo state need Maku to tell them if the road they are driving on is Good?
The problem here is that you have not even followed the tour to know what it is all about,so I don't think you should even comment on this thread. Atleast people are seeing the importance of this tour and it's town hall meetings. Governors that are under rated have even proven that they are working through this tour.
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Wont Use State Resources For Good Governance Tour by Dollarman101: 1:45pm On Feb 20, 2013
The fact still remains that oshomohle has not worked as a governor, and therefore has nothing to show the team, so therefore he chose to dodge the team by saying he is not participating in the tour. We would wait to see the end of this and if I may ask why didn't he object from the beginning when the Governors forum sat together?
PoliticsRe: Oshiomhole Wont Use State Resources For Good Governance Tour by Dollarman101: 1:04pm On Feb 20, 2013
Another escapist strategy by Oshiomhole to dodge accountability to the people. The money that Oshiomhole spends on his girlfriends alone is enough to host 500 people for 1 year.
Everybody in Edo state knows his penchant for pleasures of the lower region. So who does he want to fool by this hypocrisy?
Maku should go ahead and inspect federal govt projects in the state. I believe the FG has the resources to take care of the logistics.
PoliticsRe: Is GEJ Your Dream President Or nightmares? by Dollarman101:
don33310: Jonathan is a complete FAILURE,the worst president in Nigeria history.
Keep quiet! What do you know about Nigeria's history. Who do you wish to compare with GEJ? Babangida who inaugrated Corruption in Nigeria? Or Abacha who was a maximum military dictator stashing our billions away to Swiss accounts or Obasanjo abi Yaradua who abandoned power plants,,airports railways, etc?
Let's be truthful to ourselves. Jonathan far out performs all his predecessors. Which major Airport in Nigeria has not been remodelled since GEJ was elected in 2011? On December 21st, Lagos-Kano railway lines started running again after many years of neglect and abandonment. Cargo trains now run from Ogun to Minna, Enugu-Msidugri is under serious rehabilitation.

What about the decongestion of sea ports and the commissioning of new ones in Onistha? Or do we need to talk about the reopening of moribund depots in Aba, Benin, Mossimi and calabar that has brought back commercial activities to those areas. Do i need to remind you that the original builders of our refineries were contracted by GEJ to start repairs or you forget the new PIB?.

Or do we need to talk about road rehabilitations and construction? After so many years, Benin-Ore-Sagamu is being done by this govt. Onitsha -Owerri has been completed by this govt likewise zaria-Funtua-Gusau. Enugu-PH which has been neglected by successive administrations is now under rehabilitation by GEJ.
Lafia-Obi-Awe nko? Abi na Kano-Maidugri or the Apapa-Oshodi which is about to commence phase 2 ?

Do you wish to feign ignorance to the completion of NIPP power projects by this administration? Or you are not aware of the ongoing privatisation exercise in PHCN which promises to usher in a new era of power distribution in Nigeria? Which other Agric Minister in history has come out with bright ideas and long term reforms like the present minister of Agric, Dr Adeshina.
PoliticsRe: Melaye, NTA, ribadu, Top 10 People In Politics To ABSOLUTELY Ignore In 201 by Dollarman101: 5:29pm On Feb 18, 2013
Melaye. Yes. El Rufai yes. In fact, El rufai should rank first in that list and not Maku. Personally, I believe that the Op was unfair in adding Maku to this ignoble list.
I have my reasons. Labaran Maku saw to the passage and signing of FOI by President Jonathan. This singular achievement is worthy of commendation and distinguishes him in the comity of Ministers of Information Nigeria

Secondly, he is expanding the frontiers of information management through the Good Governance Tour initiative. Nothwitstanding all the criticisms, the tour has given Nigetians a window into the world of most state Governors. It offers me a basis for an objective assessment of each state governor through their poster projects. I always follow the tour on the Ministry's facebook wall and Town hall meeting on NTA. it's a good initiative.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Can't Sack Maina – Presidency by Dollarman101: 12:31pm On Feb 15, 2013
Frank-C:
A very powerful man once said that power is deemed more powerful when sparingly used.

The Senate only have powers to summon and issue arrest warrant, not to convict. If Maina is arrested and dragged to the Senate house today, the question is what next. There are far more intelligent ways to handle certain things. Does it mean that Maina's present office is shielding him from prosecution that he must be sacked before being prosecuted or is sacking the punishment ad-JUDGED adequate by the senate as the right price for his offense?

The Presidency is very correct, at least on paper. Every right thinking person knows that the civil service is one of the toughest places to sack a confirmed employee, not even a cleaner. This was built in by the same Senate to shield civil servants from political victimization. If Maina is sacked today, he will go to court and will easily win his case unless he is disciplined by the civil service following the established procedure.

I've got no love for Maina but our Senators should stop behaving like the lower house. They are meant to be more mature and less exuberant. First, refer their case to EFCC/ICPC, mount political pressure on these executive agencies to get quick results. These agencies will then charge the man to court and possibly convict him if found guilty. But no!, they want their ego
massaged...and immediately!!!

But more importantly is the way the Senate is going about this whole issue. They are being unnecessarily emotional and taking it very personal. They have now opened themselves up to more
loopholes. One civil servant- Maina- has held a 109 member Senate captive and they are crying like babies to the President to help them save face by pushing the police and sacking the man
as if we are in the military era. Next time they want to use their powers of summon, they should first seek better and more mature ways of handling the issue. Again, power is deemed more
powerful when sparingly used.
Please help me tell these rogues, that think they are deceiving Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: Maku Lied About Missing Crashed Helicopter In Bayelsa - SaharaReporters by Dollarman101: 9:31am On Dec 22, 2012
Gbawe: My brother, 'whistle-blowers' are revered worldwide. It is only only Nigerians, deranged by 'Stockholm-Syndrome', who prefer to hold brief for those destroying them with lies, misrule and corruption. If Maku is lying, should he not be exposed? Is he a private individual or an important government appointee? I don't get Nigerians at all.

In the UK, a very well run Nation, whistle blowers actually have more credibility and audience than politicians. Yet in Nigeria that has been destroyed by politicians, you find the poverty-ridden people cursing Saharareporters et al while vehemently defending their oppressors masquerading as political leaders. Fela was right with his "suffering and smiling" observation. The mentality of Nigerians has been bastardized by years of misrule. That is why it is common to see Nigerians talking and behaving abnormally today in comparison to citizens of other Nations.
There is a big difference between whistle blowing and rumor blowing. The distinction lies in the fact that the former is facts based while the latter is rumor inspired.
There is nothing like whistle blowing in what Sahara is doing. What they re doing is complete rumor blowing with impunity.
You don't come up with fictitious reports and call it whistle blowing.

Maduale: Going by the "success" recorded so far by Sahara reporters in deceiving people with fabricated stories form ghost sources, I think I may have to open my own online news site too.
All it takes is just to sit down in my bedroom and write that SOURCES told me this and that.
I will come up with catchy headlines that will catch the fancy of the gullible and denigrate my enemies.

I could just write " Minister of Foriegn Affairs in 150 billion dollars scandal"

I will proceed as follows: Sources have revealed to Mango reporters that the Minister of Foriegn Affairs, Mr Balla Briggs, is enmeshed in a 150 billion dlollar scandal" sources say the monies were withdrawn on a first line charge basis from an escrow account domicilled with chase Mahhatan bank in South Carolina USA with account number CH 234742789"

ballabriggs: This Maku's CV that I am being shown is because I said Jona should fire the m0r0n. grin grin grin grin

Abacha don die now, everybody was a "part of the struggle". Even Maku wey dey village dey drink 'fura de nunu' was a "part of the struggle". grin grin grin When Abacha dey we did not see any of them.

But why not fire Maku? Maku has spent billions on a useless "Good Governance Tour", going around the country to tell lies and drink 'fura de nunu' but has barely had 1% of the impact of a Sahara Reporters reporting all the way from New York. Now he did not end there, because of the seeming low impact of this fradulent tour, he has decided to be condescending and call the good people of Nigeria names as they refused to believe his lies but will rather believe what they see on ground.

Can you now see how dull he is? The money Maku has spent on that fraudulent tour will have been better used in providing water for those people suffering from poor sanitary conditions in Nasarrawa, those suffering from guinea worm in the northern part of Nigeria.

This is what Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has called for but m0r0ns like Maku and the dolts he has employed to troll the internet have decided to crucify him. How can a leadership be so wasteful and fraudulent yet we expect development? You do not need a "Good Governance Tour" to show people what is on ground, when they feel the impact of good governance, they will tell you.

Jona fire Maku now!!! This should be a starting point to reforming the public sector by removing a redundant 'Minister of disinformation'. When you fire him, these other m0r0ns who are wasting what should be used in providing development needs for the vulnerable in the society will go with him.
Just returned from the office and saw that this Sahara resident liar has been around advertising his foolishness on Nairaland.
The problem with joining issues with a resident clown like you is that one risks dignifying the tantrums of a mad man.

However, I am constrained by an overwhelming sense of social responsibility to respond to your allegations of financial impropriety against Maku. I do this with all decency and proof so as to show conclusively that you are a mad man on the loose.

FACTS
The NGGT is funded from the Ministry of Information’s 2012 capital budget. Costs are incurred mainly on payment of duty tour allowances of participants, security personnel, publicity and logistics.  So far the Federal Ministry of Information has not spent more than N5 million in each State visited.  The N5 million comprises DTA based on government approved rates for about 100 participants for a minimum of 3 days per State; transportation; security; medicals, secretariat facilities, etc. The participants are paid Duty Tour Allowance only and strictly for exactly the number of days they participate in the project.  I make bold to say that there has been no other known source of funding or expenditure for the project. The costs are managed by a Project Accountant in strict conformity to government financial regulations.  The NGGT is one of the most prudent and austere projects ever managed by the Federal Ministry of Information.
