Studienkolleg doesn't teach you the German language from scratch and your accent doesn't change too except you were born here or came here as a kid. Every other person has an accent..

Studienkolleg doesn't make applying for scholarship easier. Scholarships are mostly given to smart students.

Ps: I'm currently in Studienkolleg so....

You shouldn't just close your eyes and apply for Studienkolleg, it's not easy plus it's stressful. If there's a chance to do first year before coming here, please do!.

There's also an extrance exam which is hard to pass. It's very likely you will fail the exam if you apply from Nigeria.

Why? Because most people in my Studienkolleg including me all did their language course in Germany which is an advantage over those applying from other countries.

I'm not discouraging anyone from applying to Studienkolleg but if you have the chance to do first year in Nigeria, kindly do..

Well said.. I know a dude here who´s currently studying in NRW. He attempted up to 5 different studienkolleg exams and failed all except his current school in NRW. he actually got pre-admission on the condition of passing mathematics in deutsch. This guy is presently on C1/C2. he always complain about the technicality involved in solving mathematical questions in German.. its freaking tough.

I´ll advice anyone coming to study in Germany to come with university transcript i.e 100L and apply for an english taught Bsc.

and if you´re coming to Germany to survive.. PLEASE LEARN GERMAN !!!
Its the meal ticket here.

Hi guys,

I am planning to apply for Msc in a course different from what I studied in school.

Will this affect my visa interview or my chances of getting a visa?

Thanks in advance.

No, it wont affect.

Just state your reason why you´re changing career during your interview.

All the best !

Just chill till tomorrow evening. If not send another mail.

Until then, i didn't do anything different from what you've stated.

You´re advising him to send 4 emails in the space of 1 day ? That´s interesting cheesy cheesy

He may not like the outcome.. he should just be PATIENT. All emails are/will be attended to.

Since you´re going for winter, there´s still more time. If I were him/her, I´ll channel my energy on learning the German language. Its the meal ticket here..

Thanks
Stop bugging the consulate with emails. They receive every emails and mostly treat as first come, first serve. please, learn to be patient. Today is a public holiday in Germany which means all German organizations in and out of Germany are on holidays till tomorrow.

By bugging the consulate most times shows desperation and this would not be a good thing..

Patience is the key bro. !

Good afternoon everyone, pls can I apply to different courses at the same university on uni-assist without having to pay another handling fee?, if so, please how ?

Yes, just add the course.. the system will automatically route the course under the same school and mark it as paid.

The systems might have changed though but try that option..

Hi people,

I am going for a 2 years program in Germany and the tuition is 9000euro per year. Does any know how much I need to have in my german block account for the visa application. Is it just the

1. 8,640 euros for the first year living cost or
2. 8,640 + 9000 euros for the first year living cost and tuition.

Thanks.

Hi,

My first question to you this:

Why did you decide to study for a course in Germany that pays such high amount of money? Unless you are strongly dependant on funds from your family, I think it´ll be tough and challenging.

and yes, you´ll have to pay a certain amount of the money before start of studies and at the same time, you´ll show 8640 euros as means of sustenance. hence, number 2 will surface.

What course do you wanna study actually ?

Hello everyone..Good evening.. My Nephew recently graduated(few months ago) and he intends to go for Msc in Germany..

Unfortunately,he had a carry over in a core couse in his final year(second semester)..However,his total cgpa from year 1-4 is already above 3.0 (the minimum requirement in germany)...He intends writing TOEFL early next year...

MY QUESTIONS ARE:
1.Can he still apply for masters even before writing the carry over course next year..??

2.Since his total cgpa is already above 3.0,is there any way of applying for transcript even as a spill over student.. ??

CC:neccki, eke40seven, etc

Thanks in anticipation...

Since you said he graduated.. It means he has been issued an awarding certificate to this effect. (B.Sc blah blah blah)

If he has been issued one, then he should apply for his transcript and apply to as many schools as he/she wishes. Also, wht did he/she studied ?

Abeg, Make una no vex.. Work and studies not gree me.

Part 2

Continued from here: https://www.nairaland.com/3052025/general-german-visa-enquiries-part/358

So, the hustle continued and we left off from where we started. It was in the early month of January when the German company which I worked with hosted an event which Involved all the German Visa officer. I was opportuned to meet with the officer who treated my aplication. She asked why I could'nt go and I told her I had a project to finish with the new company, hence the reason why I decided to withdraw and extend till the next admission period. She nod in support of my claim after extensively discussing the goals of the project to her. She later told me to file a new application as soon as I get another admission letter. During this Period, Mr Sebastian walked into the discussion and I quick to introduce myself to him. The months runs by and as a real hustler, I knew this was another chance to actualize the dream. Fast-forward to June, Admission letters started rolling in and I went through the normal route of visa application. I was given a certain date in August and I was quick to involve God to make it happen this time. The days keeps counting and I could feel the emotion of facing another visa interview. The real date came and I was so prepared. At the gate, we were ushered in by the securities in order to face another life "changing" Interview.

At first, we were asked to write and submit a "letter of Motivation" placing more emphasis on your desired course and why Germany. I did my best by writing an amazing Motivation letter and why I felt it'll be necessary for me to study my course in Germany. After this, we submitted our letter and few mins later, we were called in for the Interview. We submitted all our originals and two photocopies each. The only difference from the previous interview was the fact that I added a "Reference Letter" also known as "Arbeitzeugnise" from the German company here in lagos. The normal questions were asked and I cleared them without fidgeting. At some point, I even asked the Interviewer some questions about the German anthem and he painstakingly replied with a satisfactory answer. The interview ended 35 mins later and I went away putting the rest into God's hand.

Six days later, I decided to enquire from all the major banks about "Form A transaction". This time, I went straight to all the Banks head offices in VI and Marina. The first was Stanbic, followed by Zenith (I even initiated with these two banks). First Bank was the last bank I visited and I was told they can't transfer into a personal account except school account. I thanked the lady and walked away to visit other banks. Some few meteres after leaving First Bank, I received a call from Dayo Fedex (According to True Caller). He was like "Hello, are you Mr ......, I said yes I am the one. He said I have a package from the German embassy". My heart and mind raced. Right in the middle of Eko Idumota market, I was standing with two hands on my head, I was speechless. All I could hear was a faint "Hello, are you still there.. Please, where and how do I drop the package." I summoned the courage and continued with the call. He said "Sir, you've waste my airtime. Na good news be this oo, Abeg just send recharge card to this line when you get home. Immediately, I blatantly told him that "Oga, na Visa rejection you just bring so." Just drop the documents with the petit trader living beside my house, I'll pick it when I'm home. he felt sorry for me and prayed for more luck next time. I ended the call and my heart was palpitating. I cancelled every appointment and rushed home. Collected my documents and I saw the big rejection. Out of all the documents sent back by the embassy, They witheld the "Arbeitzeugnis" given to me by my employer who happens to be a German company. I started thinking, researching about appeal, amongst others. At times, I'll wake up in the middle of the night reflecting on the Interview day and asking myself series of questions on what could have went wrong. I barely sleep, I turned off my phone and I was restless !.

Finally, I Manned up and decided to appeal. First, I wrote and sent an appeal letter via email, signed it and attached every documents from the previous year stating the reason for my withdrawal. The embassy replied me stating that the appeal could not be accepted in the format I used. I decided to go formal by hand-writing an appeal letter, added some documets, at this Point, the German company also wrote another letter, STRONGLY indicating my desire to study. I compiled all these documents and took them personally to the embassy. This time, I had some chat with Mr Paulinus and he assured me it'll be settled. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks.. No show/response from the consulate and I began to worry because the enrolment period was also drawing nearer. Finally, I heard of an event hosted by DAAD in conjuction with the German embassy and Goethe. I quickly saved the date and vowed to attend. Fast forward to this day, I was there and was glad to see One of the Visa officer whom I've met earlier at the Event. I asked some question relating to issues which my friend faced and also my own scenerio. He was able to answer to some extent and after the event, he was quick to recognize me. He called me to know If I was the one directly affetced by the question which i asked, I said No, it actually happened to a friend. he took his reference number and we continued chatting. I now reminded him about the event which was held at Eko hotel. He was able to remember our meet-up and he asked about other staffs. I was quick to reply with a fine. Finally, he asked about my visa application and I told him I got a rejetcion. He was surprised to know who rejected me and I told him it was "Kim Mar... Eise...." (German visa applicant should know this name in full). He asked If I have appealed and I said yes I have appealled for over 4 weeks. He took my visa application number with my friend's visa application number, tucked it into his pocket and dispersed every other person willing to see him. He appealed to them to visit the German embassy's website to learn more. At this Jucture, I knew God has smiled on me.

Two days Later, I got an email that my appeal was successful and It has been sent to my city's Auslander for final clearance. I was so happy and I decided to continue with the Form A funding. 3 days later, I got all my documents and Guess what again......The recommendation letter sent by the German company was still witheld.

To be continued......

Part 1

Hi Guys,

As promised and according to the tradition which I've gained so much from, This story may be lengthy, hence I'll be writing in part because of the little time I have. Nevertheless, I'll try my best to finish it in order to motivate someone out there who's about to give up about the German movement.

It all started in 2012 when I visited the Austrian thread. Austria being a tuition free country, I decided to scoop some schools and at the end, a certain University gave me per-admission for Msc Communication networks but on the condition of coming to Austria to write a test and also attend an Interview. I started inquiries into the process about going to Austria, but I was quickly informed about Legalization.. I thought about the money, stress of going to Abuja to certify all my documents, and also the horrible stories about "Bribing" at the Ministry of Education. All these really got me pissed up. At this juncture, I just "Trolled" into the German student thread and I decided to read from Part 1 on a certain weekend. It was during this read up I encountered post from many Ogas them.. Like TopeAjis, Godson, suxes2005, Futurewise, Justwise, Kelly4top and a host of others. I remembered seeing Honorouble Seyi Post on a constant basis and I thought he was an Honourable in the house... lol smiley

Fastforward to 2014, the real process got started and I applied for IELTS, made up my mind to attend Goethe and attain at least A2 in order to settle in well and faster with the new environment. 2015 started and we got down into business. First, I did the IELTS exam and had a very good score. Attended Goethe at Lagos Island up to A2. I also met some wonderful guys and girls during this language course. It was during this period I met Kennysogun, Fapper, Promise and host of others. The application window opened and I applied to as many schools as I wanted. and on the 30th June, I got the first real denial from Hochschule Mannheim and I was like.. "What the F***". Infact, almost all the Nigerian student that applied to that same course were deinied and we were like "This one na Gobe oo". We never relent and we kept firing in more schools and at the end, the admission letter came rolling in.

At this juncture, I knew the real work has started. from blocked account opening, to raising money for the blocked account. and this was during President Jonathan Era when Euros was 215 and the maximum was 235 naira/Euros by Union Bank. I hurriedly applied for account opening, and afterwards a Visa Interview. I was scheduled for August 12th, 2015. Prior to the day, I have read so much about the interview and was well prepared. The great day came, Mr paulinus was always at his duty scrutinizing and scolding people. I just observed all protocols and respectfully went in for the interview. I was interviewed by the Chinese looking woman who asked me series of questions. At some point, she was curious to know how I've learnt so much about the German system. I was feeling like an Hero and was I like...I don catch you today... lol. Just send me the necessary email and we'll be fine. The next day, I got the email:

Dear Sir,

your visa application has been received.
Please note that, in order to complete your application, we are still in need of a confirmation by Deutsche Bank stating that the required amount has been credited to your blocked account. Kindly submit this confirmation as soon as you have it.
You are welcome to send the document as an e-mail attachment (.pdf)!.

Much to my relief, I felt the first stage was done and the ball lies in my court. I hustled hard, struggled harder for the money to come but no way. Lots of promise and fail from people whom I've placed so much trust in. Despite getting consecutive emails reminder from the embassy asking for blocked account confirmation in order to pick my visa. The most painful aspect was the fact that I needed just 350k to balance the remaining blocked account that year. At the end, I felt so pained, couple of tears dropped to my cheecks knowing fully well that some people out there will be in the club spending this same amount.. But them no send me message nah.... ehehe. Finally, I picked myself up and decided to withdraw the visa Application. took up a job with a German firm in Lagos where I fortunately met all the Visa officers..... To be continued !
