CityNG: Sorry it's in Ibadan (the Ring Road location but I would assume that they all carry the same inventory though). I am almost certain as I went in there to specifically look at what they have for cars and babies so I know what I don't need to bring on my trips home. Thanks will check the lagos outlet out but first let me find out about the Revo penetrating lube spray that timsobj mentioned earlier |
CityNG: I think I saw it at Shoprite.which of the shop rite, Ikeja, Lekki, Surulere or outside Lagos. Also if in Lekki, is it in shoprite or games because most people refer to all shops in there as shop rite. |
Do any body know where I can get this item or its equivalent Where can I WD-40 SPECIALIST RUST RELEASE PENETRANT SPRAY by Blu Torch Technology Thanks |
sultaan: The warning with my post is you will need a more frequent transmission service with the newer fluid DW***.Thanks Bro, I will certainly check this out, though have not change my ATF since the car arrive, I only did the normal Naija servicing. The last Bumper to Bumper check I did shows that my ATF is still in good condition. |
seemsnice: Stop deceiving ursef, A boss of mine bought dis Acura MDX, the car hardly spent 2yrs before developing transmission problem, he has to order for complete gear abroad and fix before selling it. I `ll advice u guys to get something better, thou all are used cars, it`s by luck you can get a better car, naiaja mechanics luv toyota, buh i can never agree as d best car, buy the one of your mind and maintain it very well.Have a friend who uses Mazda millennia as well and recently his Mechanic told him the transmission is gone, five different transmission where replace and yet the hold light still come and the car driving was not smooth. Only to call another person and was told there was nothing wrong with his initial transmission except that everything is wrong with the Mechanic. Most recent car transmission are design to go on save move to protect the package if anything is wrong with the car that could damage the transmission. for your boss to go aside Nigeria to get the transmission package shows he was not connecting with the right people when he can get the part in Naija. Very sure he will never near MDX again, shipping Transmission package from abroad would have cost him a fortune |
pasino26: I really appreciate your lectures and am following keenly this series on MDX. My colleague in the office said his cousin keeps complaining bout the parts and all that stuffs with suspension. A close friend who deal cars just advised against it and he couldn't give a reason to his maybe his guts I think. But from a user like you am 70% convinced on the car been aware that maintenance is key here.. Once more am following you and will move to acquire the car this week after a relative carries out inspection on it.I usually do a PM (Preventive maintenance) not a break down maintenance, I don't know the problem with you friends ride but I know all car has its own problem especially if not will maintained. Giving you car to a wrong mechanical can complicate things for you, I have learnt my lesson the hard way now I do my personal research and with Nairaland and forums for all type of cars you will certainly see people with similar problem and how they resolved it. Ensure the car is okay before buying and hope the seller has a good maintenance record, you can as well check the VIN record to know more about the car history this is very important. Sometimes people tamper with the Millage. |
sultaan: Google 2004 Honda accord, pilot, odyssey and Acura MDX transmission so you know what you are buying Victoriousvic: I think the main problem it has is its transmission issues. There have been many complaints about the transmission, but besides that, I believe it's a great ride. sultaan: Google 2004 Honda accord, pilot, odyssey and Acura MDX transmission so you know what you are buyingI have to disagree with both of you, MDX don't have transmission issue, infact if you googlle transmission problem for any type of car be it TOYOTA, Mazda, Kia, Honda, just name it you will see lots of result but i will tell you that Transmission issue is not peculiar to MDX 04 model, i have colleagues in office that are using the 02 and 04 model and also have a neighbour that uses the 03 model, none ever complain about the transmission to me. I heard the same thing about honda cars concerning shaft and transmission, i did my research thoroughly to the extend of talking to MDX parts dealer in Ladipo and Oyigbo market in Lagos before buying the SUV, what i could say is maintenance is the key here, for you to use this type of car you must be ready to buy high level quality oil and go to reliable mechanic, understand car part and do little diagnosing by using ELM327 to understand your vehicle performance. |
kingschild123: It's a great car with little or no maintenance at all just minor works on the brake oil and pads that's all. My verdict- go for it, it's a nice car.For a 2004 model, I will say the interior is not that bad, though you get to see better interiors nowadays but this is an 04 model, very few 04 like Lexus RX330 can beat the interior but the SUV has the best exterior design for that year range |
pasino26: Stumbled on a clean and a good deal Acura MDX 04 here on NL Nigerian used. I am fixated on having the car someday but with the advice from two close friends am a bit confused. Is there any real issue peculiar to the model yr and brand? Also I based in Port Harcourt can I have the location of a good service workshop should I take on the deal. It is to be my first SUV so I sure do need this adviceI use MDX 04 personally myself (Touring with RES), am presently based in Lagos. You have to understand that the car is a luxury SUV that is equipped with all necessity. MDX 04 is a 3.5 litre capacity engine so you can't compare the fuel consumption with other basic SUV like Highlander, Pilot, CRV, etc. MDX is in Toyota lexus category I bought mine early this year and I have been using it for six month now with no issue, you get the best fuel efficiency on highways not really good with city with lots of traffic, this is true for all high capacity litre engine. I spend an average of 5k on weekly basis including weekends and I believe this works for me because my office route is against Lagos traffic. My previous car is a V6 Mazda with 2.4 litre engine capacity and then I spend like N3,500 weekly. The car is a very good one but you need to inspect well to ensure you are not buying liability, I mean a faulty one. And also never allow any how mechanic to touch the vehicle, I usually do my home work myself before going to the Mech, you can learn a lot here on Nairaland. let me know if you still want to know more |
nurey: First of all, YOrubas don't vote for party, they vote for personality what this or that person can do for US.Well said nurey, I understand the op that the Fashola led govt need to do more for the less privilege as Imo stat governor is doing and I agree with him but looking at it from other angle the situation in Imo is not the same with Lagos, Lagos is a private sector driven state while most state in Nigeria including Imo state is public (Govt agency and parastatas) sector driven state. The challenge of Lagos population is road connectivity and housing which I believe is what the state govt is trying to tackle, imo and others don't have that challenge so no, so their focus is to first empower their people. |
kingk: Well said bro.....am not just being sentimental, firstly.....kudos to my state Governor his excellence gov Rochas Okorocha.......a man of words and works.......Good to know Rochas Okoracha is doing well from your testimony and you can not blame Rochas for the behaviors of the Civil servant and Police officers in Imo state. My question is do you think PDP will do better than APC led government in Lagos and Why? For me I never trust anything that come out of People Destruction Party (PDP). Am ready to vote for GEJ if he decamp to other party apart from PDP. If anybody wins PDP ticket for Governor or president, it means the person is ready to play by the corruption rules of the party. PDP for me has no plan, no party ideology, lack continuity in their program and fill with lots of retired military personnel with dictatorship ability and believes |
kingk: Greetings to everyone.....please my fellow citizen of nigeria living in lagos at large, this questions are for you. Let us give/ cast our votes here before 2015 to come.I guess you won't vote for PDP because of Nigeria police harassment too, Last time I travelled to Minna, the FRSC at jebba booked the commercial vehicle driver that I entered N3000 because the man refused to give them bribe. I believe you won't vote for PDP because FG increase the price of fuel in 2012 in the name of removing subsidy, New plate number were issued with no concrete justification, corrupt politicians were given presidential pardon (this is enough not to vote for PDP, is a stamp to corruption). I can go on and on, my point is we are all Nigeria and I will tell you that what you encounter with LASTMA is not authorized by Fashola or is APC led government is just Nigerian attitude to miss-use power when we are in position. Several LASTMA officers were been sack when there are concrete evidence that expose them likewise police men too. I BELIEVE there is a sentimental reason while you do not want APC because the reason you gave, the lapse can been found in all states and is not a party thing but Nigerian behavioral identity. Please let put sentiment apart and look for constructive criticism in our argument. |
Still available and negotiable |
I absolutely agree with all your point but I think you need to add more like 4. People that wanted Jonathan to be in power by all means can act on their self fish interest without GEJ knowing.(Diezani, Asari, Tompolo, Akpabio, etc) 5. Military may be using this to destabilized the country so that their will be a reason to take over. 6. PDP trying to destabilized Northern Nigeria, just like what happen in 2011 where you have low turn out of voters and makes it easy to rig. No body is innocent in this game call politics, every body that are expected to be involve in solving this problem have their hands dirty and are suspect. GEJ need to step up is game and face the challenges, I believe his not clueless but need to work on the speed of his action. |
@op The car didn't rammed into Buhari's SUV, if you listen to Channels TV and Buhari story, the vehicle was blocked by his convoy, the car rammed into one of the convoy far behind. All these news are all over the media and internet, we need to put sentiment aside, I pray we don't realize when its too late. I believe Jonathan is not involve in all these, some people are trying to cause wahala for Nigeria. We need to put on our thinking cap and leave behind our differences, its North today, who know where the next target is. |

gsalvatore: The Problem with the North nobody wants to mention and deep down the OP doesn't want to acknowledge is the RELIGION.I don't believe that religion is the problem of the North, No religion is BAD, we only have BAD people. The south west also have Muslim but their economic condition is not as bad as that of the north. I want to believe that they love their religion that they easily get deceive by people who they believe are righteous people. |
In your opinion what do you think is the way forward for northerner in term of development |

obohgl: Domac99, thanks for your so far. I will like you to help me on this: 4TBE32K34U927532.The VIN you provided is incorrect. A VIN # contains 17-character, which does not include the letters I (i), O (o), or Q (q) (to avoid confusion with numerals 1 and 0). |
Can someone please explain this, what exactly is the difference between levy and duty, what part of the purchasing process is affected, is it clearing fee or the actual purchased value of the car from abroad. There was a mail that was sent by diamond, a friend show me this morning seems the policy will be effective tomorrow |
My Mazda Millenia 02 model behave this way sometimes ago and after research on mazda forum, i found out that it was the air filter that was plug so have to change it. If you change the air filter, you also have to simultanously service you plugs or change them to original one. |
