Hi friend,

I'm sorry, I'm currently in the middle of 2 professional exams and I'm unable to review LOE at this time. I'm not sure how soon you plan to apply but I will be available sometime in mid-July. I'm sure there are people here that would be able to help as well.

cheers

Crystalheart:
Good day brother
Please check your DM
I would appreciate if you could help review my LOE.
I look forward to your reply.. Thanks

Whatever you do, I encourage you to include a copy of all pages of your old passport, including all visas and data page. If you can't do that, make sure to include the data page, all visas and stamps in your old passport.

I think your new application would be assessed based on your current profile. But it won't hurt to refer to your old visa and explain why you could not make that trip. Just make sure your reasons are positive. Maybe you got a job or other study opportunities. Include proof if you have it. Meanwhile, if your reasons are not positive, maybe family emergencies, lack of funds, health etc, you can make it positive as well. You just need to be creative and be smart about it.

Good luck

Is your student visa still valid?

Ymc007:
Hi guys,
My case is quite peculiar. To think i gave my testimony in part 11 but i couldn't travel to school anymore because of a major issue. Now i am starting the process all over again. Please i need your valuable advice on these.
1. I was granted a student study visa in 2016 but i couldn't go, i also did not know that i was supposed to inform IRCC that i will not be able to make it. will this affect my new student visa application since they most likely will have all this info on record?
2. Should i mention it in my LOP during my new study visa application, that i was once granted a study visa and explain the reason i couldn't go?
3. can i send a message to IRCC now to explain before i begin the whole process of applying for a visa?
i will appreciate your response(s). Thank you

You need to put in the work. success is not a straight forward thing my guy.

Masters in Finance is probably expensive.
But if you want, you can check the Memorial University of Newfoundland and the University of PEI for cheap tuition. I will still encourage you to apply for a master's in Finance if you are determined. Maybe you can get a scholarship but you might need GRE or GMAT. Good luck

majeobaje:
Hello everyone
I will like to make an enquiry about getting a masters degree admission in any university in Canada with a 3 years Bsc with 2.1 (Masters in Finance will be preferable) that doesn’t require GMAT or GRE, also the tuition fee range between 3k to 5k.
Thank you.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Re: Immigrate To Canada Through AIPP Part 1 by dommakavelli: 6:47pm On Jun 20, 2020
Just to let you know I read this. I think you're gonna do so well in Canada. You're very resilient. You tested the waters, put all your thoughts into action and broke barriers. Please don't stop even after you get to Canada. Congrats bro.
BTW Yes, we are very jovial in NL lol smiley

Frankrobbn1:
Thanks for the best wishes.

It took me solid 4 months of persistence reading and exploring of different companies websites using the approved list of designated employers under the AIPP stream. At some point, I got discouraged as most of the companies I contacted vehemently said they weren't aware of the immigration program called - AIPP.... This kept me puzzling and wondering how will they not know about the Atlantic program. Meanwhile, their companies names were boldly published among the designated employers on the list of the Atlantic program to hire foreign employees. I knew what I wanted so I relentlessly kept on pushing without hesitation. I sought advices from some of the experienced Indians guys on the WhatsApp group I belonged to as of then, they gave me tips on how to contact employers in the Altantic region and shared me some of their cover letters during their hunt for job offers. Having implemented all the tips and tricks as advised, all attempts proved abortive as majority of the employers I contacted were looking for employees with work permit within Canada. cry

The quest for job offer continued, afterwhich I decided to build up my LinkedIn account and subscribing to the premium package which will give me visibility for any job vacancies within my qualifying NOC. It was very quite fortunate for me to see one of the approved companies under AIPP and their advertisement for Vacancy for over two months. shocked A thought came to my mind and i resolved to give it a shot and see if things turns out fine for me.... To be honest, its was a mere trial!. I didn't even invest so much hope that I'll secure the job. After all, I have been getting several rejection response/mails from companies in Canada all this while, therefore it's no longer a new thing to me. I braced up and contacted the company via their LinkedIn page as well as explaining to them about my sincere interest in working for the company and filling up their labour shortage. Luckily, the company replied my message after a week and requested that I should email them a copy of my resume and a cover letter which will detail about my vast working experiences in my qualifying NOC and why I am a good fit for the job/position in their company as well as the possible contributions I'll bring to the team that will yield high productivity for the company etc...

Fast forward, I did as the company requested and forwarded them my details. I got assistance from an indian guy who carefully took his time to review my resume, cover letter and reconstructed the mail I used. Within 3 business days, the company acknowledged the receipt of my documents, reviewed them and sent me an email regarding an interview.

My interview was conducted via Skype on the 21st of December, 2018. The manager of the company asked me questions about my experience and how long I have worked in that field and what is my current employment in my country of residence. Do I have my IELTS and ECA ready? Of which I sincerely told him that I don't have any yet but will get it done as soon as I have successfully secured the job offer. The manager is a jovial and very nice person. I must say he is very understandable and he said "That's okay, but you must have it so we can file for your Permanent Residence Application".... I replied with a calm voice "Sure I will".

At the end of the interview, the manager congratulated me with a smile on his face that I'm now a member/employee of the organization, that i should expect further correspondence from them which entails a signed job contract and supporting documentation regarding my employment via email. That I should endeavor to sign those forms and send it back to them ASAP, so they could begin my application for settlement plan, after which they will proceed with my provincial Endorsement and subsequently my Permanent Residence application to Canada. shocked shocked. My whole body was shivering... then I began to ask myself, could this be true or am i dreaming?. grin. This was one of the happiest day of my life meanwhile my PR will be the best of all. grin..... The waiting is not an easy one but I believe everything will work out in due time and I'll receive a PPR in few months to come grin

I hope my story stands to inspire and motive you all. My advice is that you should keep on pushing and never relent. Someday you will definitely find your dream employer and they will accept your application with open arms.

Keep faith, trust the process and always be optimistic.

I wish you all the very best.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 6:34pm On Jun 20, 2020
It would end in praise for sure. Feel free to hit me up if you need anything re: settling down in NL.
Good luck brother!

Frankrobbn1:
Thank boss for the compliments and best wishes. It was indeed a herculean task to find a designated employer that will be ready to sponsor a foreign National through the AIPP route. Almost all the employers I contacted turned down my request. However, my persistence and resilience towards achieving my goal was a no-brainer for me. I thank God it worked and I was able to land a job offer in the Atlantic Province of Newfoundland, Canada. All things being equal, I hope to celebrate soonest.

It will surely end in praise.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 9:12pm On Jun 19, 2020
Wow, that's really good. You should be proud of yourself considering that you competed with many people from around the world and within Canada for that position. People living in the Atlantic provinces struggle to get those AIPP jobs. I lived in NL for years and I don't even know how to help people from Nigeria and other provinces, except NL residents.
Good job man!

Frankrobbn1:
As earlier mentioned, I'm waiting for the approval of my permanent resident application under the AIPP stream and presently in the southwestern geopolitical zone of this country. I provide relevant answers to questions on this thread because I have first-hand experience about several immigration pathways/programs to Canada which is not only restricted to the study visa route. So, don't be baffled about how I acquired my enviable experiences on how I answer questions, albeit rather be more concerned about making the most of the advices given in your application.

It will end in praise
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 7:32pm On Jun 06, 2020
For the bolded, I understand your point but in that case, the sponsor would not be a person. The company would be the sponsor and good luck to whoever thinks that would convince a VO. Might work 15 years ago tho.

JustMellow:
Hello Justwise,

There are so many content to a board resolution letter. By law, any small scale liability business/company can have a constituted board members or board of directors. The article of association also says a lot. Two people can run a small scale business and still constitute a board if need be.

No matter how small a business/company is, a CEO is a CEO as long as there is a steady and reliable flow of funds in its own capacity sufficiently enough to cater for any positive satisfaction. By using a company account which "some" say its pungent and gets the VO not smiling, and if using the company's account pose to be the sole choice, and no matter how small or average that business though there are few exceptions; the board resolution letter is one easily and legal document to demonstrate financial approval et al.

Just like in actual sense that a Deed of Gift for cash seems baseless or off in more similar understanding as the Board Resolution Letter. The truth is if you claim the other person is wrong then you might likely be wrong too because these facts in contention are not on the official website or immigration rule book of IRCC.

I don't think personally that relevant documents in its numerous numbers pass a wrong message especially when its directly involves the application and personal or certain circumstances. It is bad when it becomes confusing and unorganized. Every situation isn't the same and there might be need for more relevant documents to back a claim of a claim and/or convoluting events.

I believe its an open forum and what is necessary is to either contribute your own viewpoints or respectfully pass your message, afterall, you also do not have substantial proof that what has been said was not in light of either IRCC or the VO's discretion. We all have to acknowledge and understand the actual truth in practical experiences based on that of others or ourselves. There are many advices and perspectives in expressing, narrating and sharing past experiences with interested others. This "mouth" has a reliable proverbs that helps the listening ears think through their minds to find actual solace.

This is just me trying to air my opinion and contribution to this dragging issue that is about to derail the thread. We should always look for better ways to express ideas without castigating. This should be considered as my only "contribution" on this topic.

Know that I hold you in high esteem. One love!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 7:26pm On Jun 06, 2020
Yes, company account is a bad idea. You might be able to use a company account as "proof of source of funds" but it is definitely not a proof of funds. That is why the VO was not satisfied that the money in that account would be available to the applicant. Who would take money from their business to sponsor someone else's education? I will understand if the applicant was a child, but it still doesn't make any logical sense.
"Proof of source of funds" and "proof of funds" are two different things. BTW, You must show both in your application.

Also, think about this, why would someone give a third party and fourth party their company's financial statement. It does not make any sense. If the applicant is the owner or partner in the company, then maybe it makes little sense. But still, there are better documents like tax documents, registration paper etc.

justwise:
You are missing the point, this is not about what board resolution letter is, its about whether its necessary to submit it in this occasion.

Again its a bad idea to submit company's account as the source of fund for foreign studies no matter the amount in that account, you use the profit from that company which will be supported by tax documents showing the gross and net profit.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 5:51pm On May 20, 2020
This means you need to get an invigilator to invigilate your exam. Usually, such a person would be a lecturer, teacher or anyone in the academic field. The person must have a school email address. something like ojo@unilag.com.
If you are unable to find an invigilator or if your invigilator does not have a school email, send an email to your school and explain your situation. Also, let them know schools are closed and physical distancing could be a hindrance. Ask them if you can do your exam online.
Goodluck

Ifesinachi22:
Please someone should attend to this question. I'm supposed to resume by November. This exam is what is holding my admission. I don't what to ask them stupid questions like, can i come to Canada and write it there?

If you don't attend to this question this last time I'm sending it, I'll be very angry with all of you grin grin grin

My School just sent me an email that i will have to write an entrance exam in Nigeria. I will do that in any university or college or organisation that supports such exam.

The Below is the email he sent. I copied the confusing part

Step 2: Write the pre-admissions entrance exam. We are available Monday-Thursday from 9AM-5:30PM and Friday 8:30AM-2:30PM.

For applicants that are located in another city, province or country they may write the pre-admission examination at a local University or College that is equipped to proctor exams from other institutions.

How to find a proctor:

If you wish to write the exam closer to home, please provide us with the name of the Institution, the name of the proctor, professional e-mail address and business contact number that is equipped to do so. We will then contact the proctor and arrange for them to have access to the pre-admission examination online.
Mandatory Pre-Admissions Entrance Exam:

1. Who has written any such exam?

2. And where will i find the university doing it?

Please i await your response

Go through the GCMS note and deal with the VO's concern. Also, get your siblings to sign an affidavit on your behalf, stating your application for a study permit is solely for studying. You do not intend to immigrate to Canada. You will return to Nigeria after you complete your studies or before your status expires. That you will not rely on Canadian public funds or social assistance.
Goodluck

First refusal reasons: Family ties and employment situation

I didn't include any proof family ties, meanwhile advisory says Family members birth cert, even if they're not accompanying you. I didn't also include any employment info, advisory stated otherwise

2nd refusal: the whole 5 generic reasons(Fam ties, employment, travel history, purpose, Finance status)

I retified the reasons for the first refusal, Only for me to include my POF which was 2-3months prior to my submission
Advisory says Up to date or at best 1month prior

You can explain in your SOP. Did you transfer the money from savings? was it a loan? did you sell something? Did someone pay back a debt they owe to you? etc.

Adwoa816:
In total, the whole scholarship package is $25,737 . The tuition and other fee such as insurance etc amounts to$8,487 annually. Thus remaining $17,250 to cater for my living expenses.
Moreover, I am a salaried worker with about 200K a month. My challenge now is I made a lump sum deposit of 1 million Niara some few days ago. Will this not give the V.O the impression that I am using that lump deposit as a bait for the Visa? If it does, how do I capture it in my SOP.

Everyone here is trying to help and the worst we could do is fill this place with misinformation. That would defeat the purpose of the thread and It would be unfair to thousands of users that came here to learn. I stand to be corrected and I will not make further comments on this.

I remember you but for some reason, I just can't bring myself to ignore a miss leading information. This is clearly inaccurate.

Wunaarroon69:
No it’s not.
Most times the GCMS is generic and has nothing to offer than the refusal letter. Only for certain cases such as refusal based on immigration status. Else you’re just going to spend money and waste time for nothing. My two cents.

One rejection in Canada on Date.

To sign a legitimate affidavit, the signee must sign in front of a notary public or legally designated person. Yes, you can type and send it to him but he has to take it to a notary public to sign and stamp wherever he resides.

Crystalheart:
Good day house

So I have been filing my application and I need clarification on these:

1. Is it normal not to have column to upload medical? because I can't find it on my portal

2. Also, since the schedule 1 form is a page, how do I fill my spouse information?

3. My sponsor is not in Nigeria, can I do the affidavit of support here and have it scanned to him to append his signature?

I look forward to your replies... Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 2:35pm On May 12, 2020
That could be a ground for refusal. More so, how is your SOP? People get dinged for Vague SOP too. Again, we can only speculate. It's the GCMS note that would give you an answer. I highly recommend you get one before you reapply.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 2:20pm On May 12, 2020
I think you should order a GCMS note first to know the actual concern of the officer. However, if I were to guess, I would say the main reason for denial is because of your employment status. An internship is not a full-time permanent job. It's becoming common for VOs to reject people based on financial and economic ties. If you don't earn enough income that puts you in the Nigerian middle class, they might deny you. Meaning, if you don't have a job that earns you enough income, the VO could assume you will not leave Canada because of the better economic opportunities Canada has to offer.
Essentially, it means you need to prove that you will not be interested in a Postgraduate work permit, PR or any other form of status, even though it is not illegal to have dual intent. It's just ridiculous.

Subbyshal:
Please Frank, Justmellow, everybody, please advise me and I can send my SOP to you

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 10:04pm On May 11, 2020
Those rejection reasons are generic. My advice to you is to request GCMS notes for your previous applications. You need to know the officers' concerns before you reapply. You would then focus your next application on addressing the VO's concerns. Also, you will definitely need a strong SOP to make your case.

I'm not sure how to request a GCMS note from Nigeria but I'm sure people here would have answers for you regarding that.

Rollyxxmv:
Hello Mr Frankrobbn1 and other gurus in the house.Forgive me if you're not mentioned.
I'm currently going gaga.

I applied first in Jan and got denied in Feb. Refusal Details being: "current employment situation and family ties in home country and in Canada"

Here's my profile:
I'm 23(24 by October) No tertiary education yet, i have an 8 year gap from end of secondary schl up till 2020.
I've been working since 2016 as an ict staff at an energy company, learning software dev. And volunteering at a local book club
SOA= 11,200usd + 13M =about 62KCaD or so, sponsor is mum, 2yr fees + living expenses= about 40KCAD and is way less than the total of what i presented so money shouldn't be an issue.
I gained adms at NBCC for a 2yr diploma in network administration for Fall 2020,
I had my sponsor write a letter too including my SOP , waec, family properties including a land Doc in my name, mum's last designation and salary increase.

I reapplied on 4th of march with all info above and added
Proof of family ties which include: Dad and mum's employment proof, my birth certificate and that of entire family, each member of family's local govt of origin cert
I also added proof of employment which include : Employment letter, confirmation letter, ID, Leave approval for duration of study from my employer and also indicated that i hv been denied bfr above.

Today i got denied for the second time and I'm sad and demoralised.

Reasons being:
travel history
Family ties in canada and home country
Current employment situation
Personal assests and status
Purpose of visit

Man y'all help me please
And also how do i get the gcsms notes

No one is trying to argue with you or insult you. It is okay for people to disagree. I don't know you from Adam, so why would I attack you?
I might have disagreed with you on the thread in the past, but I don't even remember you. Anyways, sorry if disagreeing with you made you feel attacked.

Wunaarroon69:
Please I don’t like unnecessary argument, it doesn’t add anything to my pocket. You in particular like to counter my posts so not going to start which is right or not argument. I’m not a guru and only said based on my little knowledge. Usually one should have substantial work experience or self employment or something to show why exactly you need a masters.
Mr Frank has advised her to pay $4,000CAD for immigration lawyer & continue from there.

End of story pls.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 9:38pm On May 11, 2020
I agree. There is nothing wrong with going for Msc and submitting SOA. The money could be gifts from parents. It could be some of the money your parents put into your account, towards your study.

mcobex:
Sorry about the rejection. First, I will ask you to speak with your brother about the reasons given by CIC. Ask him if he did anything that might have jeopardize your chances, if he hasn't done anything wrong then I will advise you appeal your case(that's if you have the time and resources to go through it).
These vos are human and sometimes times make mistakes. First speak with your brother and hear what he has to say about it. Good luck
NB: There's nothing wrong in you going for MSc or submitting your own SOA as well(as long as you showed enough funds to cover your tuition and living expenses and your sponsor showed her source of income)
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 9:30pm On May 11, 2020
Faith, I'm sorry this happened to you. The first reason is very strange to me considering that you have never been to Canada before. Is this your first application? Could you have been banned if this wasn't your first application? How did your brother receive is PR, was he a student. I think it would be absurd if they confuse you for your brother. The rejection reasons are generic and maybe the VO chooses the first reason by mistake.
We can only speculate here and you probably won't have your answers on the forum. I think your best bet is to request a GCMS note ASAP.

Faith243:
So sad i just received my rejection mail, reason for rejection
1 based on history of having contravened the conditions of admission on a previous stay in canada
2 family ties in Canada and in your country

4 based on personal asset and financial status

Please the first reason can someone explain better

That’s what I’m saying.

Your reason for apply for Msc is not clear because usually msc is for people that have work experience and want to learn more per say. Also not having a job shows you lack home ties which all boils down to “purpose of visit”. I wish I can see your sop because that’s where you made mistake. If you have explained your reasons well, they would have given you. The only one i don’t understand is this contravened the conditions of admission on a previous stay in canada. You can go anywhere you want as long as your visa is valid for multiple entries. Just don't go to war zones lol. They will probably ask you questions if you go to Syria, but that still doesn't mean they won't let you in unless there is a security reason.
I remember when I was still using visa and I went to Nigeria. The CBSA officer told me, "Welcome home"... He sweet my belle die.

Really, so for instance, if one is schooling in Canada, and intends to travel to U.S. or Probably Nigeria during Xmas or any other holiday while ur study permit is still active, is it allowed ?

Thanks...

I think this is true. When people get approved for a study permit. The sticker on your passport is a TRV just so you can enter Canada. It is not a study permit. You will use your letter to receive the study permit at the point of entry. So yes, you don't need another sticker cos you already have one.

Hello Juddytee. I understand you had a valid Canadian visa before your study permit was approved? My questions are:

1.) Was your valid Canadian Visa issued to the expiration of your passport?

2.) When your study permit was approved, were your issued with a new temporal resident Visa (trv) with coding S-1?

3.) My study permit was approved and they did not request for my passport. When I emailed them they told me I do not need another Visa on my passport since I already had a visitor visa.

Please help me clarify I want to be sure I am fine to travel by September. Thank you. @juddytee

How much is your tuition? then add the cost of living to it. Does your scholarship cover the total? More so, I've been hearing people talking about balance on their account. VO is not as interested in your balance as much as the cash flow and source of income.
The questions you should be asking are:
What is the total cash flow for debit and credit?
What is the source of income? How much does the person make monthly?
!.2m is just about 4000 CAD, which might be a little small but I think you should focus on the above first.
