That's true, AIP is like recieving medical request. And in this case, AIP is even way better than receiving medical request because applicants now know for sure that they have passed the eligibility test once they receive AIP. Yes, it is not guaranteed that Visa would be approved after receiving AIP. However, if you receive AIP, it means, you are eligible for a study permit. So, their is an extremely high and significant chance that your visa would be approved. like 95% chance. Provided your situation did not change e.g. loosing your admission without providing a new admission letter, you can only be denied a visa after AIP, if you failed admissibility requirements such as criminality, medical grounds, submitting false information or documents, and if your sponsorship changed (e.g, death of a sponsor, if you loose your scholarship and you did not provide alternative source of sponsorship, etc). I believe that if your situation changes or if you failed any of the admissibility requirements, you will not be denied right away, VO usually give applicants the opportunity to clarify things. The question is how often does Nigerian applicants situation changes or fail admissibility requirements? Probably 1 in 1000 chances. Of course, it is left for applicants to decide how they feel about receiving AIP but I think their's no cause for Alarm. You can see the link for a list of reasons your application can be denied after AIP (inadmissibility reasons) https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/reasons.html Goodluck everyone! Wait until you get your visa. Then apply for a visitor's visa for your husband as an accompanying family member. Your husband can change his status once he's in Canada. Eilenora: |

IRCC will get your medical exam. If their is no issue with your medical, your application would change to medical passed but no one knows how long it would take IRCC to updated your profile. SKEPTA: |

Each school have their own policy. As long as the document shows your new start date and that you have admission with the school, I think that document would work. ericksen: |

I think you're good if you already sent them the new admission letter. My brother didn't get a response as well when he sent his new admission letter. But, if you want to confirm that they received it, it won't hurt if you send another email. ericksen: |

That's fine, no worries. Deferring your admission would not change your eligibility or status of your application. I called IRCC regarding same in the past. The only thing that might change is your study permit approval and expiration date. So, it's good that you let them know. I'm not sure why you would need to renew your visa from Nigeria They usually give minimum of a year visa depending on the duration of your study. You are expected to complete 50% of your study in Canada, so you have enough time to travel before it expires. If your passport expires soon, Just make sure to renew your passport and you have minimum of a year before your submit to IRCC. Good luck ericksen: |

Good question!. You should be aware that if you study without a valid study permit, those periods won't count toward your Postgraduate work permit. Also, the sticker on your passport is a visa, not a study permit. You have to go through the Canadian border to receive a study permit. So, you need to be sure if a study visa would also count as having a study permit. Maybe you should call IRCC to confirm. Jetline: 1 Like |

Numer 1. You should check your admission letter for the finance breakdown. They usually put the price range for rent there. Some schools would write a yearly estimate. But If their estimate is per month, multiply it by 12. For other columns, check your admission letter for an estimate of other things like books, transport, etc. and put the total. Anyways, everything is usually around 10-15k. depending on the city. Also, available funds. You should put the total of 38,800CAD and $43,558CAD okay? Number 2. I think you should add it to the sponsor document under the proof of source of funds. Your dad's property is not yours, so it can't be a home tie. But if you show that your parents are doing well, VO's might see it as a tie too. No one knows what those mo'fuckers want. But yeah, include all your parent's property under sponsor docs. Number 3. Yes, say approximately xxxxxx Number 4. Yes, she can state an estimate of each of her assets in her sponsor letter. Just like number 3. SKEPTA: |

That's very good. You should include it in your application. Make sure to refer to it in your SOP. Let the officer know that you are financially stable and your financial statement is attached to your application. SKEPTA: |

I think you should include your shares certificate. If you have a fairly good statement of account, include it too. It does not have to show your salary. People can have 3 accounts. You don't have to include a payslip. Get your employer to write you a letter of study leave. In the letter, make sure to include leave period, your position, salary, contact info of the person that would sign the letter, and that your position would be available upon your return. Then link everything to your economic stability to your home country, under the home tie. In my opinion, people often get rejected for home ties because of the economic motive to remain in Canada. VO would weigh your economic ties such as current and future job prospects and financial stability in Nigeria to assess this. You should include your siblings' birth certificates too for family ties. I've been advocating for Net worth assessment on this thread as well. You might want to consider it. Good luck SKEPTA: 2 Likes |

I agree with you 100%. If you're going to study for a year and you have a (5m plus) 20000 CAD plus vehicle sitting at home. That's a tie. Even if it's a 5000 CAD vehicle, it still adds to your asset. A car alone might not be enough to prove home tie just like how having a family alone is not enough. You have to throw in all you've got and be creative with your story. oma22: 1 Like |

Of course, landed properties might be considered more than vehicles because they are usually more expensive. That doesn't mean car ownership would not be considered or insignificant as you claimed. A vehicle is a property as long as it is not financed or leased. Your car is part of your wealth as long as it is paid in full. So yes, a vehicle is an economic tie because it can be converted to money. Obviously, the more you have the better but it is wrong to say it would not have an impact. That's totally wrong. An economic tie means financial tie or asset and that is why it is important to include an evaluation from a registered chartered accountant in your application https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/eligibility-admissibility-considerations.html Frankrobbn1: 2 Likes

I kind of disagree with the bolded. Your car is part of your asset and it may have an impact on your application. You just need to let the officer know the monetary value. Some cars worth more than land my brother. I hear people attach landed documents but they don't tell the officer the value. So what's the point? The point of a prooving economic tie is just to show that you're doing well in your home country. Yes, you may choose to sell your car just as how you can sell your land and houses. Get a chartered accountant to make you a net-worth assessment for your car and properties (land, buildings, business, jewellery, cash at hand, cash in bank etc ). If you have rental income, tell your accountant. They know what to do. Then you won't need to submit too many documents for cars and properties. But if you have an original Cof O, please include it in your application. The net worth assessment document might help you prove economic ties. Remember, it must be done by a registered chartered accountant in good standing. Pee2Jay9: 1 Like |

I think the law says you are allowed to defer your study for another semester or 150 days, whichever comes first. For example, if you're supposed to start in September but can't make it, you're allowed to start in January and that would be the latest. Just make sure you have a valid admission letter. Also, I believe Canada chooses not to issue visa for the spring and summer semesters to protect the integrity of this law. Uriel12: 1 Like |

Could you have answered any of the eligibility questions wrongly? There is a section where they ask if you are a US green card holder, what did you choose? We can only speculate tbh, so I'll recommend you request a GCMS note. Chikaima18: |
