That's true, AIP is like recieving medical request. And in this case, AIP is even way better than receiving medical request because applicants now know for sure that they have passed the eligibility test once they receive AIP.
Yes, it is not guaranteed that Visa would be approved after receiving AIP. However, if you receive AIP, it means, you are eligible for a study permit. So, their is an extremely high and significant chance that your visa would be approved. like 95% chance.
Provided your situation did not change e.g. loosing your admission without providing a new admission letter, you can only be denied a visa after AIP, if you failed admissibility requirements such as criminality, medical grounds, submitting false information or documents, and if your sponsorship changed (e.g, death of a sponsor, if you loose your scholarship and you did not provide alternative source of sponsorship, etc). I believe that if your situation changes or if you failed any of the admissibility requirements, you will not be denied right away, VO usually give applicants the opportunity to clarify things.

The question is how often does Nigerian applicants situation changes or fail admissibility requirements? Probably 1 in 1000 chances.

Of course, it is left for applicants to decide how they feel about receiving AIP but I think their's no cause for Alarm.

You can see the link for a list of reasons your application can be denied after AIP (inadmissibility reasons)
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/inadmissibility/reasons.html

Goodluck everyone!

Frankrobbn1:

Please don't be misled, AIP is NOT a guarantee that VISA will be granted!. I believe you've not seen a case scenario whereby IRCC after requesting for a medical exam from an applicant, they later refuse the application with flimsy reasons? I guess you've not seen such happen before!. Please be properly advised that Nothing guarantees study permit application to Canada. Not even the best attorneys can guarantee success. Ultimately, the outcome of every application is up to an immigration officer to exercise their discretion based on the information present in the application.

Having said that, I would like to congratulate your brother on the success of his application thus far.

It will end in praise.

Wait until you get your visa. Then apply for a visitor's visa for your husband as an accompanying family member. Your husband can change his status once he's in Canada.

Eilenora:
Hi All.
Would you advise that I wait to get a final approval and then hubby uses same to apply for a work permit so we can all go together as a family in december,
or
he should just apply for a visiting visa,we all go together, and then he has same converted to a work permit whilst there without having to return to Nig? If this is a better option, are visiting visas being attended to at the moment? it is pertinent for all of us to go together as a family cos I have 2 kids and won't be able to manage them alongside schooling.
Please advise

Each school have their own policy. As long as the document shows your new start date and that you have admission with the school, I think that document would work.

ericksen:
It was not a new admssion letter per se. It's just a document showing that my admission has been deferred. Should I request for a new admission letter from my school?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 7:02pm On Jul 23, 2020
I think you're good if you already sent them the new admission letter. My brother didn't get a response as well when he sent his new admission letter. But, if you want to confirm that they received it, it won't hurt if you send another email.

ericksen:
Thank you so much for your response. I sent them an email but got no response. Should I send another webform? or does the email that I sent earlier (which they did not respond to) suffice?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by dommakavelli: 6:15pm On Jul 23, 2020
Yes, submit your new admission letter through webform
Ujeinijobog:
Hello, please quick question. I also deferred my admission and I'm in the visa process. As such, is it necessary to inform ircc that I already deferred?
Thank you.

That's fine, no worries. Deferring your admission would not change your eligibility or status of your application. I called IRCC regarding same in the past. The only thing that might change is your study permit approval and expiration date. So, it's good that you let them know.
I'm not sure why you would need to renew your visa from Nigeria They usually give minimum of a year visa depending on the duration of your study. You are expected to complete 50% of your study in Canada, so you have enough time to travel before it expires.
If your passport expires soon, Just make sure to renew your passport and you have minimum of a year before your submit to IRCC.

Good luck

ericksen:
Good day friends, Please I need help.
I deferred my admission till next year September (cos of covid19) then I raised a webform on cic. cic responded that I should contact Nairobi since that is where my application is domiciled in (which I did via this email nairobi@international.gc.ca but they did not respond till date). Just yesterday I got an email to go for my medicals. My question is, should I raise another webform (on Nairobi page this time) or should I just chill and assume that they are aware already?
Another issue is that if peradventure I secure the study permit, how easy is it to renew it in Nigeria if the expiry date is close before I travel?
Thank you

Good question!. You should be aware that if you study without a valid study permit, those periods won't count toward your Postgraduate work permit. Also, the sticker on your passport is a visa, not a study permit. You have to go through the Canadian border to receive a study permit. So, you need to be sure if a study visa would also count as having a study permit.
Maybe you should call IRCC to confirm.

Numer 1. You should check your admission letter for the finance breakdown. They usually put the price range for rent there. Some schools would write a yearly estimate. But If their estimate is per month, multiply it by 12. For other columns, check your admission letter for an estimate of other things like books, transport, etc. and put the total. Anyways, everything is usually around 10-15k. depending on the city.
Also, available funds. You should put the total of 38,800CAD and $43,558CAD okay?

Number 2. I think you should add it to the sponsor document under the proof of source of funds. Your dad's property is not yours, so it can't be a home tie. But if you show that your parents are doing well, VO's might see it as a tie too. No one knows what those mo'fuckers want. But yeah, include all your parent's property under sponsor docs.
Number 3. Yes, say approximately xxxxxx
Number 4. Yes, she can state an estimate of each of her assets in her sponsor letter. Just like number 3.

SKEPTA:
Good morning house
I have a few questions
1.I have paid my fees of $38,800CAD in full and I have $43,558CAD available for my stay in canada, in the imm1295, what do I fill as room and board?, what do I feel under the ‘other’ column? and what do I feel under the funds available for my stay in Canda?

2.My mum is my sponsor but my dad also has properties a,should I mention it in my sop and put the scanned copies of his properties documents under client information to show home ties?

3. Should I mention the estimated value of the properties like for example the house is in lekki,so I could give it an estimated value based on how much houses are in lekki?

4.In the sponsorship letter by mum,Is she meant to state the cost/estimates of her properties?

With due respect Sir, I'm not announcing my achievements neither am I feeling superior to others because I'm in position of somewhat wealth of knowledge about the Canadian visa process.

Please be advised that all the informations I have until this present time on several immigration programs/pathways to Canada were gotten from the experiences I have enjoyed overtime on this platform and my involvement in other reputable windows. I think you might have a wrong perspective towards my tone of responses as I was merely trying to convey my first-hand experiences on some of the applications I have practically involved myself within and outside of this thread. It's not a boastfully display of my abilities or accomplishments. Do you know that if you don't have an enviable past experiences, you can't be able to run and lead others? This is because people are always looking up to individuals that can advise them properly on the right thing to do and better their chances of approval. I'm thy humble servant to command anytime anyday. So don't misunderstand my modus operandi as I'm not promoting myself in anyway.

I think you should include your shares certificate. If you have a fairly good statement of account, include it too. It does not have to show your salary. People can have 3 accounts. You don't have to include a payslip. Get your employer to write you a letter of study leave. In the letter, make sure to include leave period, your position, salary, contact info of the person that would sign the letter, and that your position would be available upon your return. Then link everything to your economic stability to your home country, under the home tie.
In my opinion, people often get rejected for home ties because of the economic motive to remain in Canada. VO would weigh your economic ties such as current and future job prospects and financial stability in Nigeria to assess this. You should include your siblings' birth certificates too for family ties. I've been advocating for Net worth assessment on this thread as well. You might want to consider it.

Good luck

I agree with you 100%. If you're going to study for a year and you have a (5m plus) 20000 CAD plus vehicle sitting at home. That's a tie. Even if it's a 5000 CAD vehicle, it still adds to your asset. A car alone might not be enough to prove home tie just like how having a family alone is not enough. You have to throw in all you've got and be creative with your story.

oma22:

A car is an asset, but what we call a depreciating asset! If you spend 2 or 3 years in Canada the car u left in Nigeria has depreciated in value by a substantial amount, so it’s that enough to bring you home? Absolutely no! Sometimes google can answer the questions you people come here to ignorantly argue about. And the fact you came here to ask people’s opinions, you should not be rude when they give u answers you don’t want to hear. Nobody is paying anyone for information here, we are all giving it freely. So being nice will mot cost you anything.

Of course, landed properties might be considered more than vehicles because they are usually more expensive. That doesn't mean car ownership would not be considered or insignificant as you claimed. A vehicle is a property as long as it is not financed or leased. Your car is part of your wealth as long as it is paid in full. So yes, a vehicle is an economic tie because it can be converted to money. Obviously, the more you have the better but it is wrong to say it would not have an impact. That's totally wrong.
An economic tie means financial tie or asset and that is why it is important to include an evaluation from a registered chartered accountant in your application

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/visitors/eligibility-admissibility-considerations.html

Frankrobbn1:

Visa officers regard immovable assets (landed property, building, established businesses, shares in bank) to Car ownership. Applicant can include car documents in their application however it's not an economic tie as you claim neither doesn't it in anyway exhibit level of establishment to compel the PA return after studies. As a matter of fact car is a liability and not an investment. Immediate family members (spouse and kids) are considered as cogent reasons to return home than any tie you can think of.

It will end in praise.

I kind of disagree with the bolded. Your car is part of your asset and it may have an impact on your application. You just need to let the officer know the monetary value. Some cars worth more than land my brother. I hear people attach landed documents but they don't tell the officer the value. So what's the point? The point of a prooving economic tie is just to show that you're doing well in your home country.

Yes, you may choose to sell your car just as how you can sell your land and houses.

Frankrobbn1:

Car is not a significant tie that can compel your return home after studies. Visa officers are intelligent beings and they know you can easily sell this car once your TRV has been approved grin. You can include it in your visa application but be informed that it doesn't add up or make any impact in the application.

I will prefer if you submit the landed property document that will be leased in your absence to generate income in Nigeria. Include every documents to show evidence of the lease agreements, pictures, and land C of O. By so doing, also elaborate on your social ties and professional ties in Nigeria which you bank upon and must return back to them at the completion of your studies in Canada.

It will end in praise.

Get a chartered accountant to make you a net-worth assessment for your car and properties (land, buildings, business, jewellery, cash at hand, cash in bank etc ). If you have rental income, tell your accountant. They know what to do.

Then you won't need to submit too many documents for cars and properties. But if you have an original Cof O, please include it in your application.
The net worth assessment document might help you prove economic ties. Remember, it must be done by a registered chartered accountant in good standing.

I think the law says you are allowed to defer your study for another semester or 150 days, whichever comes first. For example, if you're supposed to start in September but can't make it, you're allowed to start in January and that would be the latest. Just make sure you have a valid admission letter.
Also, I believe Canada chooses not to issue visa for the spring and summer semesters to protect the integrity of this law.
