Hi Guys, I just got myself a new 1.2kva and 100ah mercury inverter and battery. With just one ceiling fan, it last for 7hrs. Please is this OK?

A lot of factors would determine how long the inverter would last from details as small as the size of wire used in doing the connection ,the length etc ,even though they are not usually taken into consideration it can have considerable effect on how long your system lasts .

There are also internal losses in the inverter

But let's talk about the obvious ,how many watt is the fan ??

I am guessing its 45 watt (most ceiling fans are in that range max 65 watts) ,I wont go into details of calculations

But it should last longer than that

I have a small inverter system I coupled ,it has a 36ah battery ,I use with my laptop (it consumes 65 watts ,almost like your fan) and it lasts me 6 hours

So that system should be giving you nothing less than 12-15 hours even with losses along the line and inside the inverter

Talk to your wife about it,she is supposed to be your padi(do this camly ,this is not the time to start forming man of the house )
If your padi ,can't get her mom to stop ,talk to your Mother In Law

Her reaction when you say this would make you know whether she is doing it intentionally or innocently

Hmm it might be a hard drive failure ,but lets rule out oter possible issues first
Unplug the charger
Remove your battery
Hold the power button down for at least 60 seconds
Plug the charger (dont put the battery yet oo)
Now boot it ,if the issue persists....

Try repairing with your windows installation disk (make sure u use the right version 7,8,10),you might have corrupt startup files


If all these fail ,then it might be a hard disk problem as suspected

Its a slow excruciating death both for the dying person and the loved ones ,physically ,emotionally and psychologically .
I lost a loved one last year ,he was just 48 ,I still think of him almost everyday, its painful when someone dies as a result of something that can be easily treated or managed If the facilities and funding was available
