One Tunmise Abraham has been sentenced to death for sexually assaulting and killing his landlady, one Bukola Olanrewaju in Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti.
The suspect was sentenced to death by hanging by the Ado-Ekiti High Court on Wednesday, March 23.
The incident accounted by an eyewitness called by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mr Julius Ajibare revealed that the deceased who was killed in 2019 was a mother of three and was home alone when the incident happened.
The suspect was said to have broke into the house of the deceased and threaten her with a cutlass before he raped her.
Justice Monisola Abodunde found the suspect guilty of raping and killing his landlady. The suspect was consequently sentenced to death by hanging.
A pastor of an Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Yohana Joshua has been kidnapped alongside the two sons of Danladi Bulus, former secretary of the Local Education Authority (LEA) in Kuje Area Council of Abuja.
The Pastor and two siblings identified as Felix Bulus and Victor Bulus were kidnapped on Tuesday March 22, at Godoji community of the council.
Confirming the incident, Bulus said that the kidnappers broke his fence and gained access into his house to abduct the victims when he was away.
The kidnappers then moved to the pastor's house and abducted him.
“No contact has been established with the kidnappers.” former secretary, Bulus added.
Six Youths, One Soldier Killed In Rival Group Clash In Edo Community (Graphic video)
At least six youths and one soldier have reportedly died in a rival groups clash between youths contesting for leadership in Obayantor community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The incident was said to have happened on Saturday night, March 12.
HGS Media Plus learnt that a youth leadership brought soldiers into the community to search for firearms after report that their rival were in possession of firearms.
This consequently sparked the heat between the youths resulting to conflict between them and the soldiers
There were report that a reprisal attack was laid by the soldiers over their colleague who was reportedly killed.
However, the Nigerian Army, 4 Brigade, Benin denied that the operation was a reprisal.
Spokesperson of the brigade, Capt. Yemi Sokoya said they went there after a report from the Department of State Services that some hoodlums were disturbing the community and stockpiling weapons.
He added that the communal crisis was not part of why they went there.
He also said that hoodlums engaged the troop in a gun duel on getting to the community which prompted the attacked.
Two AK-47 rifles, three pump-action guns, one double-barrelled gun, 32 cartridges, five mobile phones and an ID card belonging to the state vigilance group, were recovered from the scene.
Meanwhile, spokesperson of the State Police Command, Bello Kontongs, said it was a military operation and that he had no information on it.
A Kenyan man has been arrested by the Busia County for sitting for an English exam in his father's stead in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The suspect, George Barasa Makokha was caught by the exam centre manager who immediately reported him to the police.
The suspect's father, Josephat Basoga Makokha had registered at "Our Lady of Mercy Secondary School" as a private candidate.
The suspect however confessed upon interrogation that his father sent him.
The suspect has been placed in custody at Busia police and will be charged for with the offence of intent to impersonate and not being the registered candidate in contravention of section 30(c) of the KNEC Act.
Five men have reportedly died while excavating sand in Kano.
HGS Media Plus reports that the incident happened on Saturday morning in Yanlami village, Bichi local government area of the State.
The men were said to have gotten trapped while working in a puddle trench in bid to get sand to their friends who were about to marry build a house but unfortunately the sand collapsed on them, killing instantly.
The victims are Alasan Abdulhamid, 22, Jafaru Abdulwahabu, 30, Jibrin Musa, 30, Masaudu Nasiru, 25 and Muhammad Sulaiman, 35.
Confirming the incident, Public Relations Officer of the fire service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, said they ''received a distress call from Bichi Fire Station that puddle trench has covered five people.
He added that ''the victims were trapped while working in a puddle trench to get sand with the intention to help their friend who was about to marry build a house but were covered by the sand after it collapse.''
One Idowu Shittu,aged 35 has been arrested by the Ogun State police command for defiling an 11-year-old girl.
According to report, the victim is a cousin to the wife of the suspect. The suspect is said to have been having canal knowledge with the victim for the past three years.
According to the victim, Idowu threatened to send her packing if she does not give in to his advances. Apparently she got fade up and reported him to her aunt.
Idowu was arrested after his wife lodge a report against him at the Ifo divisional headquaters following the report from the victim.

A pastor of one ''Life and Power Bible Church'' in Ogijo has been arrested by the Ogun State police command for allegedly raping a 19-year-old member during a deliverance.

The suspect identified as Mathew Oladapo was said to have lure the victim by telling her that she has a spiritual husband which she needs to be delivered of.
It was said that the pastor asked her to undergo a three days fasting and prayer in the church for deliverance and that she should come along with the sum of one thousand naira and an anointing oil.
It was gathered that on the first night of the supposed fasting and prayer, the pastor asked the victim to take off her clothes and lay down on a floor where he used anointing oil on her body and then inserted his finger into her private part. The girl immediately protested and consequently, the pastor forcefully had his way with her claiming it was the way to break the bond between her and the spirit.
However, upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and claimed that he was overwhelmed by the spirit.

A Ghanaian man has failed in his attempt to take his own life after he shot his wife, one Doris Amoah, aged 21 for denying him sex.
The incident happened in Adansi Nyakumase in the Ashanti Region where the suspect resides.
According to reports, the suspect identified as Charles Soglo, aged 31 shot his wife after she refused him from having sex with her.
It was gathered that after the suspect shot his wife, he shot his hand and lost two finger while trying to take his life.
However, the wife survived and was rushed to one New Edubiase Government Hospital while the suspect has been admitted at the Saint Benito Mini Hospital at Adansi Dompoase receiving treatment and under strict surveillance.
Confirming the incident, District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yaw Ohene, said Charles Soglo shot his hands and lost two of his fingers and shot his chest. He added that his wife has been transported to the hospital while officers transported the suspect to another hospital.

A mentally-challenged man jumped to his death after he was reportedly set ablaze by angry mob in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The incident happened on Tuesday, February 15 at Molete area of Ibadan.
HGS Media Plus reports that the man who was said to be seen collecting an envelop from an undefined persons in a private vehicle was suspected to be a kidnapper.
It was gathered that a cheque of N7 million, an iPhone and cutlass was found in possession of the suspect which prompted the attack on him by the mob and consequently, the vehicle immediately fled the scene.
The suspect was beaten and set ablaze before he jumped off the flyover in bid to escape from the angry mob.
A female beggar, one Hadiza Ibrahim has been detained by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, (FCTA) for possession of five hundred thousand naira, N500,000 and one hundred dollars, $100 in Abuja.
Shaka Sunday, the spokesman of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Social and Development Secretariat said the suspect is yet to explain how she came about the money found on her. he added that the suspect is in their custody still undergoing profiling.

The yet to be identified suspect was said to have stabbed the victim to death after robbers invaded his hotel.
It was gathered that the suspect questioned the security guard about his whereabout when robbers invaded the hotel, but when he was unable to give a genuine reason, the suspect attacked him and as a result, broke a bottle and stabbed him.

Five soldiers have reportedly died in a fatal accident that happened on Tuesday, February 8 in Anambra State.
The deceased officers from the 302 Artillery Regiment, General Support, Onitsha, were in an MRAP (mine-resistant, ambush protected vehicle) when it crashed occurred.
The officers were said to be on their way to Ihiala to join with their colleagues at a military checkpoint after receiving information that operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) were planning to attack the checkpoint.
A Senegalese teenage boy was on Friday, February 4 caught allegedly trying to slit the throat of a 3-year-old girl in an abandoned building in the city of Touba, Senegal.
According to report, the 15-year-old suspect said to be an apprentice driver was spotted by the manager of an auto garage walking with the little girl at about 5pm into an abandoned building located few meters from the said garage.
The manager who became suspicious alerted two of his apprentices and began to monitor the movement of the suspect.
Upon being followed, the apprentices found the suspect holding a knife over the little girl in bid to slit her throat.

What have you given back to this same society that made you who you are. How much have you donated to charity organisations,NGOs etc. We have many Billionaires and countless millionaires yet a whole lot do nothing to help the needy. We are very selfish and greedy such that the rich even collect what is meant for the poor and add to his own. We need to change our orientation and mindset and start to care about each other. This is where the white man is different from us. He can will his entire wealth to charity. He donates certain portion of his wealth back to the society but ours is the reverse. The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested one Ojo Matthew, aged 32 for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Osun State.
HGS Media Plus reports that the suspect, who hails from Ede South Local Government Area of the state was caught by some residents stealing a motorcycle and then handed over to the corps.
The suspect was said to have confess upon interrogation that his plan was to drain the fuel from the motorcycle for personal use and not to steal it.
Confirming the arrested, the corps Commandant, Emmanuel Ocheja said that the command is prepared and committed to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens of Osun State, adding that a thorough investigation of the case will be made.

Twenty three suspected terrorists has been killed and thirty seven others arrested by operatives of the Sokoto State police command.
The operation was carried out by the police special squad, Operation Sahara Storm in Illela, Goronyo and Rabba local government areas of the state. 32 AK-47 riffles, two rocket launchers, over 1,000 rounds of life ammunition and sophisticated weapons were recovered from the suspects.
In addition, 150 cows, 40 cartoons of hard drugs, assorted charms, solar battery chargers with other dangerous equipment were also recovered from the suspects.
The suspects were said to have made life difficult for the resident of the affected communities.
Upon interrogation, one of the suspects, Musa Kamarawa revealed that he has been working with bandits in the last four years. He added that he collected the sum of N28 million to purchase a gun truck from neighbouring Benin Republic.
Confirming the operation, Deputy Inspector General, Ahmed Zaki said the operation was ordered by the Inspector General of Police to fight the rising criminal activities in the North-West geopolitical region.
