Crime / Re: Man Dragged By Police Van In Edo: Police Issues Statement (Photos) by donigspain(m): 9:25am On May 18, 2017
READ THIS BULLSH!T!!!

Both arrested suspects were then taken into the patrol vehicle and secured accordingly to prevent escape during transportation to the Police station. At a point along Sopkonba Road, Benin-City, a crowd tried to prevent the free passage of the patrol vehicle transporting the suspects. In the process, one of the suspects (one seen in the video) tried to escape by jumping off the back of the open pick-up patrol van but was restrained by the handcuff attaching him to the vehicle. A reinforcement was called and the suspects were eventually taken to the station.

Nonsense!

Why would a suspect knowing he is handcuffed to a van want to jump from same moving van, presumably with law enforcement officers at the back of the vehicle with him?

If this was not recorded on video the police would've denied the occurrence of this brutality.

So where did the "something in dollars" came out from?

Most of us have that one account that we keep "change" in. That's usually the one we carry the ATM about for day to day transactions while the other richer account(s) is often hidden or kept away from reach.

Unfortunately this isn't something anyone should aspire to.The implications on your sisters health and wellbeing will be multifold.Chances of kids with genetic issues are higher in older mothers.
Seven is not a joke, each time a risk to her life and worst part is that it is people who are closest to her who put her under a lot of pressure to keep going.

I'm not even thinking of the financial implications and sheer stress of starting from scratch to care for babies as an older mum.

Congratulations to her but I cannot with clear conscience encourage this route to anyone.
Worry not. Money ain't a problem. wink
Older? Na, she's just 36. Married at the age of 19. Eats healthy, hits the gymn regularly. It's all about choices.

Afam4eva, the argument is not worth it. He doesn't understand the difference between search results and Google's mechanics for site indexing and ranking.

Nigeria is more seo friendly and often used in queries as keywords.

Final note, it depends on the industry you are targeting. Naija keywords are important in entertainment.

MrsMurphy:
It was with joy that I was expecting my 4th child till the moment I gave birth and found out that I have given birth to yet another daughter. Immediately they showed me my daughter instead of being happy, I started crying. I asked God why has he forsaken me? But looking at my daughter's beautiful face I told her that even though I prayed for a son and got a daughter that I will love her with all my heart.
My husband has changed since then, in the sense that he is emotionally abusing me. He shouts at me even all the time that my daughter has to tell him to stop shouting at me, he no longer tells me anything I just hear it from outsiders, he always travels a lot and whenever he travels he doesn't call and when I do he won't pick mine.
This has made me to sometimes look at my little bundle of joy and ask her why she didn't come as a son. I've prayed, questioned God. And now it's like I'm developing low self esteem because I'm not longer proud to tell people that I have given birth to yet another daughter because of the pity you will see in their eyes.
I don't know what to do anymore.
I am quoting you because I want you to read this true life story of mine.

My immediate elder sister, who is also a Nairalander, got married in the early months of year 2000.

For the next 16 years [2000 - 2016] she had six pregnancies in the following order:

- Girl
- Girl
- Girl [still birth]
- Girl
- Girl
- Girl

All through these years, the husband and his family [my inlaws] never for once showed any sign of frustration neither did they mount unnecessary pressures on my sister. In fact, he loved her the more.

We [my family] were actually the ones creating unwarranted pressures for ourselves. I remember discussing with my sister about several conception techniques that improves the chances of male conception. My sister always believed she will birth a male child at the right time.

Last year, my sister took in. We were all praying for a miracle. God should bless us this time with a boy. On April 1st 2017, I got a call very early in the morning that my sister put to bed a set of twin boys. At first, I thought it was April Fool prank not until I confirmed from my dad and our family pastor. Today my sister is blessed with 5 beautiful girls and 2 handsome sons.

So my dear OP, be calm. Don't panic! Your joy will be complete.

At your request I can give you my sister's number. She's learned and a great counsellor. Her experience will help you pull through.

PS:
- This is in no way suggesting that any gender is superior or more valuable than the other. Male or female; a child is a child.
- My family [including my sister] understands that the male sperm determines the gender of the child but we all know the prevailing rate of ignorance in the society and how people will always blame the woman. You might also want to share this thread with your husband.

Travel / Re: Accident At Ogborhill Waterside In Aba, Abia Leaves Many Dead. Graphic Pics by donigspain(m): 10:12pm On Apr 23, 2017
I was in Aba when this accident happened. it was caused by the state approved "task force" which is nothing but a committee of agberos. They stopped a driver with a lorry load of gravel running down the hill. They jumped onto the lorry and took over the steering in their usual reckless manner.

Unfortunately, the idiot couldn't control the down-hill rolling lorry and he crashed into parked keke and mini-bus on the bridge. Seeing the carnage, they (task force) fled from the scene.

The lorry is still parked there as at today.

Properties / Re: Sublet/squatting Tenants Is Refusing To Move. by donigspain(m): 8:42am On Mar 27, 2017
Daboomb:
Tenants have right, so do House owners.
If you are not a bonafide tenant, you cant enjoy the "rights" of a tenant, under the law.

So, the crux of the matter is for you to establish that he is NOT a Tenant in that premises but rather he is Trespassing on your property.

*get the original tenancy agreement of the tenant he is squatting with, from the Lawyer (I dont trust that your Lawyer one bit!).
*get the real tenant to "communicate with you" in writing that the has vacated the residence. You can send him a chat message asking if he is still interested in the house but you must phrase it in a way that will make him to say NO.
For example, tell him their are some charges that he needs to pay (Security charge, Maintenance charges, e.t.c that amounts to #100K), and you want to know if he should be billed, on the assumption that he is still holding unto the place!
grin grin

I am sure he will quickly tell you that he is no longer responsible for the place!
undecided grin

Armed with that "exchange of communication", you can just reply him that since he has vacated the place, you will no longer demand such money from him nor establish further communication with him and just wish him well in his new abode.

Now, go back to the "Squatter" and let him know that he is TRESPASSING on your property.
Dont even say he is squatting at all.

Give him two days to disappear (ofc, he wont).
Report a case of "Trespassing on private property" to the Police and charge him to court.
In the meantime, you have the right to recover your property as the law does not protect anyone committing an offence.
Double Lock the place and let him go and bring Police (The same Police that you have reported him to, for Trespassing!)

As for the Mediation Center, simply tell them you dont know him and that you have reported him to the Police for trespassing on your property.
Since he is the one that would be claiming he is your Tenant, the onus is on him to provide evidence of a tenancy contract between YOu and HIM
.

Now, (if you want to be nice...l am not) he can be advised to leave the place, with a "written undertaking" in place, in a week or two weeks time (Its not your business if he sleeps under the bridge, he is obviously a trouble maker and such people dont deserve any pity).
Dont agree to more than two weeks, be firm on this because after that length of time, you are going to "dash him" some "Squatter Rights" which you dont want to.

On the contrary, he might prove stubborn:
Charge his Trespass case to court .. while he will charge you to court for violating his "tenancy rights", as a Landlord!
Your Lawyer will insist, at the Mediation Centre, that there is an ongoing "Criminal case" on the matter and as such, it super-ceeds a "Civil case" of Tenancy.
A Criminal case must finish before the civil part/matter can be heard! grin grin

So, he gets docked for trespassing..... and You win that case because you did not rent the place to him nor did you have any rent Contract with him.

His defence will be that "he sublet the place" from the previous Tenant.
You will debunk that by saying the previous tenant has vacated the place and you dont know who he is andneither are you a party to subletting, which is unlawful and illegal.
(That "written communication" you established with the bonafide tenant, is your proof)

Apart from the fact that subletting is illegal, you actually dont know him. Finito.
He could be fined or jailed for Trespassing. I dont give a f*ck!

The Civil case will die a natural death, using the same arguments above (ofc, he wont even show face again.)

You see why l said l dont trust that your Lawyer?
he should have laid all these down on the table for you.

Now, can l have my "pay" for this brief, please? l wrote it at 3am! grin grin
Great work.

The central point in this case has nothing to do with the act.

It becomes a blackmail when it involved the phrase/threat: "Pay or ..." with intent to extort.
Hope you read this part in her legal press release >>"... give me 500 million naira (in damages) OR I release damning evidence of your immoralities." If she can't prove he promised her marriage then it automatically becomes a blackmail. I know you know better.

There are people who make a living from slander and blackmail. They don't necessarily need to have damning info about you. All they need is a Media prosecution to tarnish your brand and have you lose followers and respect. These two, you know, translates to money and other favours.

The onus now rests on her to prove her allegations. She better start bringing out the evidence she has stockpiled before going bleating like someone suffering mouth diarrhea. cool

You can't just wake up and accuse a man of Suleiman man's status of such immoral fantasies without proof. I never expected Suleiman to oblige her with as much as the annoying 'k' or 'kk' reply until she tenders her evidence in the law court.

The court is there for a reason not all these media trial. Nonsense Oloriburuku fellow.

One of her ilk in trade is cooling off in Port Harcourt prison. Her brain would have been duly partitioned, formatted and a new and updated OS installed with strong antivirus by the time she finally regains her freedom.

Religion / Re: Seven Reasons Your Church Members Aren’t Using Your Church Website by donigspain(m): 8:49am On Mar 19, 2017
Having managed the digital front of a mega church in Lagos, I must say that what the OP wrote is true.

We kept the website's New and Return Visits growing with contents (snackable and shareable). There was also a synergy between offline and online. We made sure that certain contents be put up only online and encouraged the members to access them.

Daily devotional, payment solutions, registrations, live service feed/podcasts and a vibrant blog were a few tactics employed.

We also encouraged user generated contents in form of testimonies, prayer requests, help and advice etc.
