The ballot is stronger than the bullet. -Abraham Lincoln. |
Please a very important message for us all.
|
Very crucial message for us all.
|
Please do not for any reason stay at home on election Day.. you are doing yourself a serious disservice. VOTING IS IMPORTANT!. IT'S OUR LIFE. IT DETERMINES THE SHAPE OF OUR SOCIETY.
|
Just observing. ![]() Oasis'would come here and post nonsensical propaganda with an aim to decieve. The so-called "fencist" will hide in corner. Let a Pro Obi person speak positively on Obi now and watch the "fencist" come out in full force. just dey play.Una luck be say work just dey choke me these days. |
Obi is the best candidate for nigeria in the forthcoming elections. Vote wisely. Meanwhile note that in asmuch as this is good improvement. Lagos is still underperforming it's full potentials. Lagos is supposed to be better than Cairo and Johannesburg. The conditions have been ripe for it but cumulative bad leadership has slowed that potential. It's growing but at a slow pace. |
Nostradamus1:Nostradam, who is your candidate? Or rather, what do you advise Nigerians to do to get this country working again? What do you feel is the practical solution for us the ordinary Nigerians to do? |
GloriousGbola:It is my belief that every single person in Nigeria has to pick up tech skills. The prospect of even earning from the comfort of your home in Nigeria is just too good an opportunity for anyone. You earn in foreign currency which is not taxed and you convert it to something so worthwhile. And the good thing is, with tech skills your opportunities are not limited to any particular country. You could be earning from any and every single continent. |
Please do not forget to get your PVCs.. Please ensure that you are participating in this democratic process to enact change in the country. Your PVCs are in your polling units right now. Go there and collect them sharp sharp. Abeg. |
Unlimited22:Like which? The only country that has a well defined pathway for students is Netherlands but you have to consider language barrier. |
iamoyindamola:Tell me a single soul wey Buhari hand never touch. I remember when I used to leave gen on from night till morning. 6.30 to 7 the next morning. About 900 naira fuel will carry you through. Now them no born me well to leave am past 1 or 2. Although I've been subsiding with my inverter. My new year promise to myself was to go full solar by year's end. Make I know say light issues don end. |
Unlimited22:It is, but that's only if you would want to return back. If you intend to stay there, then work visa is the most assured. But even with that, COVID has fundamentally altered people's working patterns abroad. Developed countries are now outsourcing Labor to foreign countries for cheaper Labor. My friend who studied law is actually earning from a totally different field, during COVID 19, he picked up some online skills, drop shipping, programming and project management. He actually learnt this things just to kill time. Today he works for a construction and consulting firm based in Florida while in Nigeria here. The company which isn't that big persay handles property documentation and minor reconstruction works. That is, if you seek necessary licenses, building permits, approved regulatory documents etc for your business in Florida, the firm helps you for fast tracked processing and proper guidance. Normally or historically, this kind of consulting firm would have workers in an office in front of monitor screens doing their work but now the company used Upwork to outsource the job and my friend earns 5 dollars an hour for a 5 hour job. If it were American employees, the pay would be about 20 dollars an hour based on skill level. So this my friend earns 20-25k every single day depending on exchange rate while working from home, meanwhile his earnings are totally untaxed. I swore to resign my job and pick up tech skills immediately. ![]() IT is the future. |
izzou:Education and sensitization bro.. If you make those people realise the weight of their votes and the implications of selling it for a day's meal, their humanity will shine through. Only a pessimistic person will think that poor people cannot make any sort of informed decisions. At the end of the day, if the vast majority of people realise that it is an absolutely terrible decision to sell your vote for a day's meal. It becomes inconsequential and the practice stops. That's what makes me an idealist and you a pessimist. |
raumdeuter:Is that projection I sight there? ![]() Sege, blueray, treblechamp can you please help me explain to this fella that your reasons for voting Obi is not because, "he's from our place" but because he is clearly the best of the 3? This one thinks that everyone makes decisions based on nonsense rhetorics like, "he's our son". No sir, you shallow minded guys are in the minority. People want the best hands to awaken the beating heart of nigeria not just "who is our son". |
izzou:I do believe that it was the best thing to do and the fact that i can look towards an LP Obi presidency because of the growth of our democracy means that that decision was partly justified. Unlike you, who thinks we should fold out hands and do nothing while coming to complain everyday about how things are getting worse. You believe the country is being badly run but you want to make yourself believe you are powerless to do anything. That is the dictionary meaning of the word cowardice. |
izzou:This sentence invalidates the rest of your post. You say "we cannot blame a thief for trying to steal", in this case you mean PDAPC but what you're leaving out is that people are actually hailing those theives and supporting those thieves which in this case calls for the absolute condemnation of the Thieves and their actions. We have to constantly shame the Thieves for trying to steal. Telling people to accept that reality that thieves will always be thieves is not a good message. We should always emphasize that stealing is wrong, in this case, vote buying by politicians.. |
izzou:You've always been a pessimist but we've always been proving you wrong. This mindset is an absolutely toxic one because I don't know what can be made of this mindset. Is it that you want people to lose hope or what? To resign themselves to faith or what? I'm actually curious about this. Meanwhile this was you at the onset of the Obi campaign, when we went for a rally even before he defected. izzou: |
I said these 5 months ago and it still rings true! Beware of narrative spinners. Never fall victim to them. Don't let yourself be gaslighted. donjazet: |
Ihebu4chelsea:Again I have no doubt Obi is the most popular candidate in this election. But there is a reason these APC people keep hoping on the northern politicians, TO HELP THEM RIG. Yes we do hope that INEC will sufficiently address those issues and I for one am optimistic about that, but one will be incredibly naive not to have it at the back of their minds that nigerian politicians will not go down without a fight and will employ various means to cling to power, what I'm strongly believing is that our will power collectively as a people will be strong enough to overpower these people, that we will turnout in great numbers and remain till the end to make surw our numbers reflect on INEC servers. If these go according to plan, Obi is sworn in no distant time and Nigeria's institution begins to be revolutionized by the likes of prof Pat Utomi, barr dele farotimi, David hundeyin as efcc boss, Amina Yusuf as minister of education or youth affairs, Kenneth okonkwo as minister of information. Ngozi ideal coming back as minister of the economy. And Soo many other new and determined faces with a genuine desire to see nigeria work. Meanwhile we are waiting for this evil government at the polling unit. |
izzou:This argument reminds me of what pro-slavery ideologues argue. That we really don't have to blame the British because it was the Africans themselves who sold their own people for bicycles and mirrors. The argument tries to extricate the morally repugnant colonialists who went around and preyed on these smaller nations and used brute force many times yet gave them the mirage of a choice. Why do we not see this blatant weaponization of poverty in Europe or America despite them also having poor people. Why can't one point out where a politician is paying people to vote for them in Europe? |
reccy:I really want to but someone here said something last time which truly made a lot of sense. So I have one question, INEC's official figures for last election was 26 million plus, do you think that those numbers are accurate? Do you think that that election was absolutely free and fair and there weren't any number manipulations? Question 2. Hope uzodimna is the governor of imo state today, do you believe that APC won the imo state election? Do you believe that more people voted for APC than they did for PDP in the last election in imo state? So if by precedence the masses do indeed vote for Obi overwhelmingly but figures are manipulated nko? Because i have absolutely no doubt that Obi will get win more votes than Tinubu, the question is what happens when the people's mandate is denied and figures are manipulated? |
Nostradamus1:The sentiment behind this post doesn't sound right. Especially that very first sentence, it reeks of wickedness and utter stupidity to the maximum. We already know that our votes count the same, that doesn't mean we don't villify those that encourage this practice. And no, this isn't Politics, there is no sensible country that plays politics this way. This isn't done anywhere else, there is no country in Europe or America where people vote because of the peanuts given to them, NO!! Or because they are hungry. Not that they don't have poor people there too, but you don't see their politicians weaponizing poverty. This practice of paying for votes is WEAPONIZATION OF POVERTY. They vote for who they believe will improve their standard of living. So when you indirectly say we shouldn't villify the practice of politicians weaponizing poverty and using the destitute in the society as Political pawns, I call bullshite. We should not just sit back and accept that that is the "Normal practice". NO! We should continue to point it out and speak against it so that the information throttles down to the poorest so that they won't be used as pawns. |
So this one is the PDP troll farm. So just like urchins, atiku also runs a troll farm in nairaland. Make una just dey play. Modified: And this nonsense found it's way to front page, meaning that it is a sponsored post.. So it turns out nairaland allows Political parties to sponsor information that will make front page, no matter how frivolous it is. Na wa oo. |
Thr worst crime Obi commited was to run for presidency. Prior to this, all "influencers" were singing his praises to high heavens and glorifying his qualities, then he decided to run and people listened to these so called influencers, only for them to change tune in an instant. From calling him the very best of the rest to hating on him for no good reason. NIGERIA FOR YOU.
|
DissTroy:At least you can see why I have to constantly post his history here for people to always remember where this is coming from. |
IjeBos:Regulation is good. Over-regulation is bad. There are some Democrat counties where before you are granted license to build your structure, you have to commit to some tree planting endeavours. Of course that's an additional expense added. In some California suburbs, some "carbon neutral" premises are included which include additional costs for the developer. All these are what adds up to homes being soo expensive or out of reach. If you watched that video, Bill Maher is pointing out the efficiency of China in getting these done and the extreme difficulty for the US in getting things done. Look at California. Tge richest state in the US, unable to construct high speed rail because of several bearucratic bottlenecks. |
We will keep winning souls. More will keep seeing the light. ![]() He wrote, |
OasisX:Nairaland font and emoji man, if you listen clearly, you would see he's not even "campaigning". He barely mentioned Obi nor did the name Tinubu even enter his mouth. He is addressing the issue of voting for igbos. He clearly stated, this is a message for igbos. He believes that some igbos are scared of voting in their present state of residences and some have decided to travel to the east to vote or not vote at all. But he is advising them on the need to stay out where they are. It is common knowledge that igbos are the most emigrant tribe in Nigeria. It is often said that the second largest group of any place after the host tribes are the igbos. And he's banking on that to advise that they do away with fear and vote. His submission is entirely logical but of course I understand the tight rope we have to work in talking about tribal issues this campaign. Because somehow the Tinubu campaign has twisted the narrative that nigerians hatred for Tinubu is simply "the igbos, hating Yorubas" where as the Tinubu supporters are the ones running around calling people "children of hate". Agenda away my font and emoji friend. |
Spy360:Well said. For Americans, it was just, any but Trump!. Biden's biggest obstacle right now is his age. Democrats really do wish they could get a sellable younger candidate to replace Biden. |
raumdeuter:Peter Obi;. DO NOT VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE I AM AN IGBO MAN OR BECAUSE OF MY RELIGION, VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE I AM THE MOST CAPABLE CANDIDATE TO GT NIGERIA WORKING. Tinubu; I MADE BUHARI PRESIDENT, E MI LOKAN, YORUBA LO KAN. It is my turn. Random Tinubu supporter;. After north rules for 8 years, it comes back to the South West for another 8 years, then it goes back to the north east, then it comes to the south south, if "they" make noise, they will meet the full force of the nigerian military. |
OasisX:Nairaland Font and emoji man, I know not which permutation you speak about. If it's not grounded in data and research, then it is absolutely useless guesswork. Like all ours here. I deal in polls. What I know involved real human beings. Not "feelings" and guesswork. Social media engagements which have dominated this campaign cycle as evidenced by the Obidient movement emergence shows that Obi is heading for a landslide victory and shows that Tinubu is absolutely hated by the masses. A drug dealer, a corruption entrenched entity, a Parkinson's patient just cannot rule Nigeria. It just doesn't work. |
When even your own enemies praise you, you know you're doing something right. Who could have seen this new wave coming?.who could have thought that in 2023, we would actually get to see a new third force arrive on the scene with certainty of winning even 10 states. With being alluded to as the front runner. This entire movement has been nothing short of miraculous. I know there are Nigerians who love their chains but I'm absolutely sure they are in the minority. We will defeat and vanquish these forces that have sworn not to see nigeria set itself free. People who want to set us back. People who joined us in the past 8 years to always lament how things were very bad but suddenly forgot all that in a twinkle of an eye and want us to continue on that path of destruction. I hope eventually their conscience leads them right again. We are almost there People. Hold the line.
