Theflint1: If you believe two truths can exist, why then have you been shouting "Enough" on every post?
Just like Donj, you agree that there have been attacks on Igbo-dominated areas in elections past. While you prefer to see these as attacks on places that didn't vote in line with the wishes of BAT, others might choose to see it as an attack on Igbo's and they are entitled too to that opinion, after all, it's Igbo-dominated areas being attacked.
You can do better than just one hit, I'm sure there should be at least 10 of these.
I don't know why you feel the need to say the above and it's actually funny because your day-long rant has been because you're insisting on people seeing things the way you've chosen to see them.
I don't have any issues with you calling me out for whatever it is you think you're calling me out for, same way I don't expect you to see you crying over my mentions when it seems like I'm calling BAT out for running an ethnically charged election. A politician doesn't have to be a tribalist or religious bigot before they decide to use tribalism/bigotry to win elections. I for one have said I don't see BAT as a tribalist, but to say he won't use tribalism to his advantage if it will help him get votes is silly. Same way Peter Obi is jumping from church to church to get Christian votes is the same way BAT has used Yoruba ethnic nationalism and subtle tribalism to get Yoruba votes, it's what it is, the job of a politician is to win elections. He sees your point but has an axe to grind so at this point he's better ignored. Let's focus ahead on our joint goal to see obi on that chair. |

DissTroy: Don't needlessly turn people on each other.
Do you believe there is a possible impending ethnic cleansing against Igbos in Lagos as Gbadamosi has stated and reechoed by Donjazet? If you believe so, what are the pointers? Can you reference any precedence or antecedence of Igbo-targeted ethnic cleansing?
Even during the (needless) Civil War, at no time did Igbos in Yoruba areas get cleansed. No recount of the Civil War by the Igbos (including by Prof. Chinua Achebe) ever mentioned systematic targeting of Igbos in Yoruba areas.
The presidential candidate we support asides, there are lines we shouldn't cross. Genocide accusations is not something you play with for 'likes'. If we didn't point it out to him and drag the issue, many Igbos on this thread were innocently buying into it. Disstroy I don't know the color of your problem. I am seriously refraining from going hard with you because I know for a fact it will negatively impact our campaign here on national issues and I genuinely don't want that right now. I truly don't, because you've been very resourceful here. Secondly, It's funny that someone famed for receipts is yet to produce one to back his claims. Is it that you can no longer distinguish between NARRATIVES and ACTION. Look at this your post up there, you said people are falsely accusing others of ethnic cleansing and genocide? Have you really become that illiterate that you cannot see that what people are talking about are "narratives" being peddled?? Go back and read gbadamosi's post, he is warning against the XENOPHOBIC NARRATIVES being peddled by pro tinubu supporters. Hearing tinubu himself, one can hear it from the horses mouth. Tinubu himself has said plainly that he accommodates people that ran away from obi's state. We have heard his wife say in plain terms, "igbo we no dey trust una again". These are the NARRATIVES being attacked. No one has said tinubu or his supporters are "cleansing" anyone. We're nipping the NARRATIVES in the bud. Now I'm purposely avoiding you to avoid this being drawn out but your agenda no go gree you rest. I'm overlooking the one's you've already done but you keep fermenting it. Okay oo. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 12:41pm On Feb 04, 2023 |
In as much as my message is being digressed into other nonsenses. Let's never forget why I'm doing what I'm doing. This below is EXACTLY what I'm calling out. In campaign stump speeches in Yoruba in the Southwest, Tinubu has been increasingly recoiling into his ethnic shell. For example, on Thursday in Osogbo, he said to a mammoth crowd: “Omo oko ni wa, a kii se omo ale [We are sons of our fathers; we are not bastards]. Awa la gbe won de be [We put them in power]. Awa l'a maa ro po won [We are the ones that will replace them].” That was clearly a dig at Buhari and his inner circle.
On Friday in Ekiti, he repeated the ethnic nationalist themes that have now become his customary style of campaigning when he speaks in Yoruba to a Yoruba audience. "This election is yours. It is the election you will use to liberate yourselves,” he said. “They want to turn us into servants. We are not servants.” That’s obviously not the language you would expect of the candidate of the ruling party.
The trope of slavery and servitude is an emotionally persuasive dog whistle in Yoruba nationalist politics. It evokes images and sensation of "Fulani domination" without mentioning it, and galvanizes a united ethnic front, particularly because Buhari and his cabal who are against him, and Atiku, his closest challenger, are Fulani people. In other words, Tinubu’s latest campaign style is straight out of “Yoruba Nation '' playbook.
A Yoruba friend who helped me translate Tinubu’s stump speeches said Tinubu “is actually preparing the West for a resistance.” And he may be successful because, at least on the surface, his grievance is valid. He and the Yoruba supported Buhari and his “Fulani” people to ascend to power on condition that their gesture would be reciprocated after eight years. I am very sure every western person here can distinguish between attacking tinubu's talking point and attacking Yorubas. Tinubu does not speak for or represent all Yorubas. Such tribal tones are for his tribalistic followers like dayo to lap up, who then go online and start advocating for people of other tribes who left their "red soiled region" to go back or be put in slave labor camps. |

Interesting excerpt on the front page. To rein in Emefiele, BAT camp got a willing tool in DSS. As a pretext for avoiding arrest, the CBN boss left the country on “annual leave” and returned after clearing the coast. The APC governors outcry is not about the plight of the masses but the waning chances of their party.
One thing is clear in this drama: Emefiele’s election eve naira swap is as politically motivated as DSS’ plan to charge him with terrorism financing. While Emefiele was licking his wounds over botched presidential dream, he got an intel that BAT had moved “logistics” to states.
Emefiele then remembered it was time Nigeria redesigned its currency. He sold the idea to the president, who approved posthaste without consulting the finance minister, economic team, National Assembly, etc. In 2012, people’s voice killed CBN’s plan to coin lower denominations. |

Again with logical inconsistencies. Disstroy my only consistent position is that tinubu and a majority of his supporters are running a tribal campaign. I have provided evidences to support that claim, even this morning. Even you sef have provided evidence to support the fact that some of his supporters are running a tribal campaign. Seeing how inconsistent your arguments are, I can see that you just have another agenda towards my point and I will stop this argument with you because I know what you already have in mind and for best reasons, I intend not to go down that path. DissTroy: Now you've learnt to be civil and focus on the issue.
You began yesterday by insisting there's a genocidal/ethnic cleansing plan against the Igbos. Those in Lagos or who at some point resided in Lagos assuaged your fears (real or feigned) by explaining the man whose tweets you posted as evidence is just playing to the gallery to garner Igbo votes.
You wouldn't have none of it but insist it's real. That's a genocidal narrative. That's deliberate fearmongering which could cause palpable tensions. Ethnic cleansing is no joke except there's real evidence or antecedence but there's never been any such example in Lagos.
You insist on genocidal narratives because it fits your idea of tribalism everywhere and every time.
Relay this narrative and tweets to some least enlightened people in certain parts of the SE and you'd convince them. That puts the Yrouba communities in the SE at risk too and would premeditate ethnic clashes in Lagos and other places.
But, hey, you'd push the genocidal narrative regardless, all logical explanations be damned. |

DissTroy: Nonsense. You ran because you couldn't answer the poser. Simple.
If you believed your own words, you wouldn't go about attacking anyone with the tribalism tag because it's their right to do theirs as you do yours. If this is so, none of us should attack Amoto for this murderous fanaticism. After all, he's practising what his religious sect believes in even though not everyone of his religion believes in being extremist.
You've called out tribalism a so many times since July. I barely get involved. When it's individual cases, I even supply more evidence to buttress your point. My post history is there to prove me right.
But when you go right on to make it always uses tribal references in every debate here and even upped the ante about genocide and insisting on it even against reason of everyone (Igbos and non-Igbos) who have assuaged your complains that no such thing has and woulf happen in Lagos, I'd call you out.
You are deliberately fearmongering needlessly and inciting tribal violence. If we didn't caution you, you'd have made more crazy claims.
Maybe if you take time to go through the CyberCrimes Act 2015, you'd realize what you are doing is punishable by law. Inciting violence or spreading rumours to cause gross civil unrest is a crime. Let me go the legal way now. Maybe you think you're invincible. The amount of sheer nonsense that has been coming out of your mouth is just mind boggling. Inventing false narratives after false narratives. When I ask you to prove it, you run and simply invent another one more egregious than the former. Disstroy can you point out where on I personally "incited violence"? Are you sure everything is okay up there? Who did direct this so-called incited violence against? It's almost as if we're playing a game of throwing dirt out of no where and seeing which one sticks. Disstroy do you know that pedophilia is an offense against the law? Maybe you should stop supporting pedophilia. |

BlueRayDick: Just take a look at ur initial post that start all of these tribalism narratives yesterday below.
Just like disstroy pointed it out to u and I did in the past; I think u are doing a good job with ur efforts at encouraging people to get their PVC , to vote Peter Obi and all that. We’ve even gotten testimony of people here who mentioned u as a major factor responsible for their interest in this election unlike in the past when they’ve actually been uninterested and stayed away from the polls.
Please don’t undo all of those good works with this constant tribal narratives u keep dragging us into anytime the thread is enjoying relative peace. Of a truth this thread is a general chat room where every topic can be discussed , but only u coming here each time to start dropping screenshots , seeing tribalist agenda in every post is tiring honestly . Izzou that stays in Lagos , has business interests in Lagos and deals with the everyday life in Lagos has told u the real picture of things time and time again. What again do U want ? Blueray, I would keep saying this. Pretending that tribalism is not an issue in this election is simply playing the ostrich.. I strongly believe that tinubu is playing a tribal game that is very dangerous to our national affairs, hence me highlighting this issue. And let me ask you this, why do you think me talking about the tribal connotations in this election is very uncomfortable for some? Is this because the issue is something you guys want to avoid because people that possess soft influence here would rather it not be spoken about because of them being terribly guilty of this and you guys being unable to adequately address the hypocrisy? Anyways unto tinubu's tribalism, read this article carefully that exposes the game he's playing in the southwest. Blueray, don't play the ostrich. Tinubu has detected the phenomenal transmutation of his political fortunes in the Muslim North not because Muhammadu Buhari and the Aso Rock cabal (who frankly now have zero political capital) are machinating against him but because of his fatiha debacles. In response, he has chosen to change tack and go full-on Yoruba nationalist.
He and the Yoruba supported Buhari and his “Fulani” people to ascend to power on condition that their gesture would be reciprocated after eight years.
Now it’s payback time, and Buhari and his “Fulani” people are reneging on their pledge and want to hand over power to one of them from a different political party. You may question the merits of this argument, but it seems to be gaining traction in the Southwest even among people who previously despised Tinubu. https://www.nairaland.com/7554040/three-major-shifts-presidential-campaignMeanwhile let me add that that last paragraph is why I think buhari is now openly campaigning against buhari. He has seen that buhari's influence is not as strong in the north anymore and perhaps wants to harvest tribal grievance in the west to solidify his support. |

Izzuo, to buttress my point, there was this interview I was watching recently of a labor party guy in imo state. He was formerly of the PDP and was even a previous contestant for office on the platform.
On the morning programme interview, this guy was giving a full rundown as to how rigging at the ballot box takes place. He was even boldly alluding to his own role of collusion with the security agents to enable voters show who they voted for to facilitate vote buying. Where he really caught my Interest was a part where he was describing about what went down with rochas in inec office. Again this guy is actually in another state oo. How rochas basically threatened his way into office.
Now such former insiders are basically necessary in pointing out the loopholes within the system and counter measures obi could take.
Another is general eneche, a military general under this administration who perhaps was part of the problems in the last few years, but his insights can still help to know where problems can be solved. |

But why ruin them by making most of those points with tribal-infused narratives? Because one cannot escape this!!!! You cannot be proactive in this election season and not observe the ethnocentrism being peddled by bad players. I once gave an example of a significant achievement of mine on this board. Prior to 2015 and 2019 election, dayo went on a rampage on tribalistic bigotry and he was given the free rein to do so. On the sports section, indeed he didn't display that outright bigotry rather he used his usual persuasive " mind bending logic" to support the ticket. I'm sure that if I did not expose those nasty things dayo had said, he would attempt to use that "logic" here to push for the tinubu candidacy. And people who be bereft as to his reasons for doing so. Why would a smart person support this kind of candidate? We wouldn't have known better his inner reasons why. Tinubu is simply not a candidate a neutral person would be attracted to, there has to be underlying factors at play. |

When one lof his supporters was exposed be posting Afonja statements, he brushed it aside with laughing emojis There's a reason you've never seen him spam here with anti-Yoruba screenshots from the same threads he goes to cherry pick his screenshots from...and it's the same reason he referred to Chris Ngige as a Yoruba bastard. Nihilistjnr, them use you swear for me?? You have started the same predictable pattern where you first throw shots and act as if it's the other person's fault.. Now you want make me and you start again. For the umpteenth time. AVOID ME!! YOU DON START AGAIN!! |
