Bimffo:
DonJazet2, about equity and Justice, I have asked why Obi didn't do anything to the SARS killings when he was Governor? Where is the Justice?
Bimffo, I will first note that you have not still answered my questions on your opinion about those pictures I posted. Why are you running? cheesy

Then to answer your question on candidate quality.

There is this post I saw on Nigerian Reddit that made so much sense.

It said to look at an average Nigerian voter as a female looking for a husband.

If you ask the woman, the qualities she seeks in a husband, that's her perfect ideal husband, she tells she seeks a man that is tall, rich, handsome, well shaped and from her place.

Again see the 5 metrics or qualities she listed in her perfect husband. Rich, Tall, From her place, Handsome and well shaped.

Now she sees 2 men who love her and court her hand in marriage and she's to choose one of them. Now the first man has 4 of the 5 qualities, rich tall handsome well shaped etc but the only thing is that he's not from her place. Now the second man is from her place and also rich but lacks the other qualities, he's ugly, short and sickly or lanky in shape.

Now for many people, the choice is obvious, the guy with the most qualities should obviously win but the thing now for her is that according to her priority of those qualities, being from her place and being rich were her top 2 concerns followed by other qualities.

So in as much as the other candidate has all other qualities, she's actually ready to forego him because the other candidate is feom her place and rich.

Now swap those words, Rich, Tall, handsome, from her place and well built with the words,

experience, health status, (equity and fairness), competence and tribal affiliation and you get your answer on voter dynamics.

But is that not an image portraying man's evolution from ape to homo sapiens? Of all pictures it had to be this?
It's very simple, the picture portrays evolution. PROGRESSING and MOVING FORWARD.
It shows that Buhari took us backwards, while Tinubu will take us more backwards. It's a simple thing.

Oasis posting it here shows his very dubious mindset.

Here comes dayo's old fashioned tactics, keep repeating and hammering a lie till it's looked upon as the truth.

Again, the answer as to why Obi is more popular in the west than Tinubu is in the south lies in the middle belt and SS..
Why are Benin people choosing Obi over Tinubu?
.why are idoma people choosing Obi over Tinubu?

Why are Ibibio people choosing Obi over Tinubu?
Why are ijaw people choosing Obi ober Tinubu?

When you are able to answer that question, you get your answer as to why Obi is more popular in the south west than Tinubu.

It's simple logic. This issue of equity and justice is a major factor for a lot of people, even outside the east, the average neutral political observer would lean towards Obi just on the basis that he agrees that the Easterners deserve to produce a president and now they have actually produced a fine candidate,it's just Soo easy to align themselves with the ticket, most especially when compared with the alternatives.

If we had Obi running against osinbajo, Obi would be in for a tough ride, the choice becomes more difficult for the neutrals.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 3:14pm On Jan 08, 2023
Shebi you see the "twisted logic" I was telling you people about from dayo. grin

More yorubas support Obi more than igbos support Tinubu because Obi is more acceptable to the general populace.
Obi ticks all the right boxes. Favorable Underdog, better health, better physical shape, younger in age, equity and justice (turn of Easterners seeing as yorubas have already had a president and easterners have had no national leader in like half a century. His religion, based on religion of the outgoing. Note; the last 2 points mean nothing to me but I'm sure means a lot to millions others.

Many of the yorubas that have come out to proudly support Obi state boldly that they believe in equity fairness and justice as one of their key basis for support.

So trying to twist logic by asking cunning questions that imply that there is any otger reason why Obi has more support amongst Yorubas is just dead on arrival.

Again I summarise;
Better candidate overall, Obi.
Health, youth, intelligence, candidate platform, equity and justice. Obi's candidacy is simply more appealing to ALL neutrals.

I am not aware of any kanu's hateful speech against Yorubas but whatsoever it is, I condemn it totally.

I honestly do not take whatever opinion people online hold about me too serious. Online anybody can be anything.

One major issue I have with u is that u feel u can goad others to share the disdain u have for certain people with u. Things don't work that way in the real world. I don't need to join u on a crusade of spamming the thread with screenshots calling Raumdeuter a tribalist every now and then.

In case u've not noticed, that act in itself is counterproductive. It distorts the flow of meaningful conversations on the thread. You make the thread a battlefield and those undecided voters u calik to be trying to shape their decisions/opinions will get put off by Ur constant engaging in vituperations here and there. I was having a meaningful conversation with someone else before he jumped on my mention demanding an apology for an article that turned out to be a clickbait.

Do better in 2023 DonJ.
Classic strawman argument laced with ad hominems.
If you are saying you don't want to condemn dayo because you think I have a "disdain" for him, do I also have a "disdain" for the brymo that you are trying to defend now?

Brymo is being his worst self right now on twitter, every level headed person is strongly condemning his narratives but you are here trying to rationalise his actions. Trying to pin in on mental health issues and not as a matter of the individuals personal resolve.

Just like you saying dayo is saying these evil things because "others are also saying them".

At what point do you assign the individual his responsibility for his actions out of hia own will and condemn it for what it is?

What has my actions got to do with you trying to excuse brymo?

It's honestly not a good read on you that once someone is exposed for saying or doing something very very hateful and evil especially stemming from tribal rhetorics, it honestly doesn't bode well for you and I say this because you are a poster I actually like here very well.

@DonJ - you need to mellow abit, and I expect you to be abit more circumspect based on your 2015 gung-ho on Buhari. We all want a better Nigeria, and there is no guarantee that Atiku, Obi or Tinubu will deliver.
I really need to address this 2015 ish.
You see, I've always said that a presidency or a candidacy is beyond one individual. One of my core reasons for supporting buhari in 2015 was the implication of what that would mean for Nigeria's democracy.

And time has proven me correct on that one particular point. As of 2015, PDP was a supreme party deep in the clutches of unknown forces and cabal behind the scenes, PDP had like 27\36 governorships, 75\105 senate seats etc and for the first time, we had a genuine option to PDP who could seize power from them and do better. Well yes, they have failed woefully in almost areas of governance but one legacy of that victory is that we now had 2 big parties that decided to checkmate themselves at the polls.

They both signed a stronger electoral law because neither of the parties want the other to rig their opponents in the stronghold of the other. APC did not want PDP to rig them out in PDP states while PDP did not want APC to rig them at the states they control so they got to mutually disarm themselves at least to a great extent, that's if tye last 3 state gubernatorial elections are anything to go by.

Infact this strengthening of our democracy that has allowed Nigeria to dream of a scenario where a Labor party can win is enough reason for me to go back and vote APC again in 2015 because a defeated APC wouldn't survive post 2015 and we would be back to the supremacy of one party.

It's the same narrative I keep trying to let people see with an Obi Victory. I know for a fact that a Labor party victory at the presidency will completely, like completely be earth shattering. This is a campaign that wasn't even born a year ago, a campaign vastly outspent, vastly handicapped in comparison with the others but has been powered by the connectivity of the wide internet penetration and acceptability by the general populace.

An Obi presidency will be one that he himself knows was the epitome of a PEOPLE'S MANDATE. It would have ramifications beyond Nigeria's border's. Our fellow Africans would witness the modern miracle that has just happened and follow suit and realise the power they have. A bloodless coup on the wicked elite.

I don't think it's depression, there's many ways to express his depression if that's it, why did he choose this one?

Brymo has been trying hard to center himself in the Tinubu conversation online and he's finally succeed. The funny thing about everything was that the people he was responding to that kick-started his whole tribal dance were in fact those responding to him politely, probably his fans even.

This thing Brymo is doing is how own version of Ola-Iya Igwe's naked prayer stunt. They're falling over themselves to show loyalty to the man's campaign, believing that since the man's campaign has been made a Yoruba project, they'd be first in line for whatever goodies come of it, given how much they sacrificed, and in Brymo's case him sacrificing his career.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Donjazet2: 10:26am On Jan 08, 2023
My entire point sef with that long post I made late last night was me simply saying that, if I did not expose dayo's deadly history here, you would have seen this individual try to cunningly sell Tinubu to us not with tribal sentiment but "logic" and people would have fallen for it not knowing his deepest intentions or motivations.

I handicapped dayo's ability to sell Tinubu to anyone here in any capability because they saw right through his intentions instantly and that is a big W here because this obi's candidacy that I've supported and pushes for, I have done so despite the attempts of the "abroadians" to frustrate that effort. My only motivation is to see more of us get involved in the democratic process and make the best decision of the 3 and I'm truly glad to see I've largely succeeded in that effort.

The funniest thing I keep reading is that I seek validation from others. grin grin

That is sooo Soo funny because anyone who has followed my history on this platform would see how I always always hold positions almost always contrary to popular views. Does that sound like someone who seeks to be validated?

So let me see, in my 11 years on this forum, I have spoken on behalf of gays, I have spoken in defence of abortion, I have spoken against Christianity, I have spoken against Islamic fundamentalism, I have spoken against the existence of juju.

I mean, most of my liberal principles are in sharp contrast to the popularly held beliefs. When I advocate for anything liberal, my audience is most likely a conservative audience,so tell me again, how does one "seeking to be loved" get to always go against the popular beliefs? Why doesn't he blend into the crowd? cheesy

And I notice you always like to say we have had problems for 7 years. No dayo, we never had any long running issue, whatever problem we ever had was fleeting, if not explain how both of us got to debate coordially over several issues along that time, from American election issues, to ideology to several other topics we agreed upon. Saying me and you have had beef for a long time prior to this is just a lie and you know it. God knows I would have raised this hell much earlier if I had discovered how thoroughly evil you were.

I so much try to avoid people that play the tribalism card all over the place, and they are lowkey coded tribalist.
Any small thing, tribalism. Any small movement to have a meaniful argument, tribalism.
And their comments anywhere you see them in any political talk is lowkey laced with tribalism.

If a Yoruba man supports Tinubu, he is a tribalist, but if an Igbo man supports Obi, it is because he wants the best for Nigeria.
ABEG! You all are Hypocrites. Hypocrisy all over the thread!

And any small thing, you all are already shouting Tribalism. Can I go a day without reading it on this thread?
COME ON!
Yes, I pride myself in calling out people whose core decisions about our politics is made from the lens of tribal affiliation and most importantly sensitize others to this.

Allow me to illustrate to you a glaring effect of what I've done here.

About 5 months ago, when I started talking about Obi on the Chelsea thread and hyping his candidacy, initially I appeared quite foolish to everyone for even talking about the man when "serious candidates" were talking, candidates like wike, tinubu, osinbajo atiku, amaechi etc.
They thought I was just making noise because they believed that his campaign was going nowhere, but as time went on, as people began to witness his campaign garner pace and steam and defy the odds, as people saw that this wasn't just a faze by the youths, that this man seemed to be unto something here, many observers and neutrals naturally began to lean into the campaign. I mean from the outside, what was not to like about this growing phenomenon?

A new underdog taking on the failed establishment. A seemingly credible third choice rising up to give people better choices than what the establishment had just given them, a candidate himself seeming to tick all the right boxes, Young, Healthy, Experienced in governance, Cerebral and intelligent, from a region who many naturally felt was their own time to produce a candidate (Equity and Justice box) or a Christian after a Moslem president etc etc.
You know just looking at this new candidate and looking at the other candidates from the 2 parties, you instinctively leaned towards this new underdog.
Again, The guy from the outside just seemed to tick all the right boxes and neutrals naturally leaned towards him.

Now here my point really begins;
There was a certain respected person who slowly but consistently began bashing the candidate, you know, even with frivolities, saying he had woman's voice, that he squeals and so on. I became curious as to why this person who was in America wouldn't instinctively lean towards this growing political revolution of sorts, mind you he hadn't yet declared his candidate to us but from the onset was already denigrating this candidate and bashing his image, when the camel's back broke for me was when he finally stated that he would prefer tinubu, if not tinubu then ATIku. This was totally irrational, I mean it's one thing if one said I choose tinubu first for whatever reason, if not then maybe Obi, but to choose the 2 in that order and totally disregard Obi at that point was just beyond logic.

And mind you, this period, obi was all the rave, the PVC sensitization, the organization of rallies by youths, the talk of defeating the failed party etc etc, like you would be hard-pressed to see any single person still leaning into APC then. So when he declared his candidate in that order, it forced me to go back to his previous posts to see what could be the cause of this and lo and behold, my eyes saw blood! I was hit with shock because the person who I had been regarding as pretty knowledgeable individual was the opposite of everything I ever thought he could be. Consistently demonizing another tribe, claiming a superiority of his tribe over others, spreading deep animosity and vulgarity between two tribes but painfully was the realization that this individual was soo far away from all the trouble he has been brewing and nuturing here. I was shocked by all these and worse so realized that there will be many like me who were in the dark as to these guy's dark shenanigans and I began revealing them consistently.

Now the main point of all these;

If I did not actually reveal these things, there would be a likelihood that this individual would have consistently used his good mastery of logic to try and push and convince people here that somehow this tinubu we're seeing was the best option for Nigeria. He would hide his actual intention for supporting this candidate well which is of course his tribal jingoism\ superiority mentality and package tinubu's candidacy in a wrap of diplomatic logic that will be easy to sell.
By my exposure of his evil past, at least I opened every body's eyes to his true Intentions so there was no room for deceit on his part. Whatever he said henceforth about tinubu, people knew exactly where the sentiment was coming from.
I believe I've sufficiently addressed my reasons for doing what I did.

BlueRayDick:
I think the problem here is u want to so much be able to say “I told u so!” . That’s probably why u didn’t see the mischief of the writer of that news piece for people’s Gazette .

The author quoted Tinubu’s speech and nowhere did he mention “Igbo’s overcrowding Lagos “ or any of the xenophobic tribal narratives u are arrogating to Tinubu . What Tinubu said is basically normal political talks aspirants say to demarket other aspirants ; in fact most of what he said at the event should not be new to u cos it has been repeated over and over on this thread.

Tinubu threw a dog at Obi that Anambran’s have overcrowded Lagos because Peter Obi their former governor didn’t do much to develop the state ; instead he only saved money while Anambrans are hungry . Nowhere did Tinubu single out the Igbo tribe like the author of the article alluded .

Saying Peter Obi didn’t do well in Anambra resulted in Anambrans trooping to Lagos is not the same thing as denigrating a whole tribe ( like u always say ) . Except u and the author are saying the moment Tinubu threw a dig at Peter Obi over his time as Anambra governor ; that Tinubu has already insulted all igbos .

I think what u are doing here is no different from what BATists have been doing trying to make at least one corruption allegation stick on Obi despite him not having a records of him being charged officially for any corruption case . I am not the greatest fan of Tinubu , but I don’t like to just form scenarios in my head just to paint him bad .
Blueray, for a moment take a little time to just read this excerpt, if you can't see the tribal undertones that lace this rant, I don't know what to say to you. Most especially compared to what his established tribalistic followers do say everytime.

That igbos leave their bad land and come to Lagos to constitute nuisance.

In this post below, take note of where he warns; "TAKE NOTE OF THOSE THAT SELL FAKE MERCHANDISE".
Blueray which tribe is usually steroetyped as sellers of fake goods in market??

If you want to pretend that you don't see the deeply tribal and divisive undertones and Rhetorics this man's words here carry and how they serve as enabler to the types of dayo or other tribalists here, I don't know what to say to you other than you are playing the ostrich..

I mean for God's sake just read the tone of the entire thing and tell me this kind of narrative is good anyway. That such narratives don't heat up the polity. Just calma and read it.
