Oasis003:Every propaganda you post, you put smiley emoji thinking people are not seeing the deception for what it is. How foolish does one have to be to impersonate a former governor and highly placed individual?? What kind of a candidate is tinubu? How many peoples identity has this man stolen? Has tinubu killed all the people who knew him growing up?? I mean the fact that nobody has come forward to say who he really is is very troubling. Has he threatened them all? Just who is this man? Who is bola Ahmed tinubu? Who is amoda ogunlere?

Oasis003:Oasis, my dear brother can you explain these? https://www.nairaland.com/7446723/picture-used-young-tinubu-documentaries#118615234

chrisooblog:Oga stop dey shalaye. All your post's on this thread are channeled against one candidate! People are calling out your hypocrisy. Once you hear obi name, your prick go stand, you begin look for holes to pick, tinubu go drop bomb, your prick go soft, you go into hiding, only to be seen again when anything against Obi comes up, who is deceiving who?? If you support the yellow teeth-stained drug baron, come out with your full chest, own that shit up, no dey hide for corner.

A001:I'm appealing for your post's to be precise and concise. You usually end up going off a tangent when addressing a particular subject. One minute I'm asking the importance of my tribal identity, the next minute I'm being termed a slave, how we got to that point, I know not. A001, in our country alone, we have more than 700 different ethnic groups. Nigeria is a place where for every 20 kilometers you walk, you see a different ethnic group with different culture. Over the years, many cultures have died off as there is more acculturation that takes place. In our quest to be united as a society, we have to sacrifice our separate identities to meld as one. Why do you think one has to fightbto maintain his cultural identity? What if i wanted to see myself more as yoruba man than an Igbo man? Will it be wrong? |
Nezzjnr:Which of my points do you object to? |
StarchAndBanga:Please what do you understand by the term "fundamental human right" because the contradiction in your post clearly indicates you have no idea what the term means. You just said you have no issue with people being gay but they don't deserve fundamental human rights, can you reconcile the statement? |
liveLongNprospa:Do you recognize that this was the exact same argument that pro apartheid groups in south Africa used? When the western countries railed against apartheid in south Africa, some people would say the west should mind it's business after all blacks in America were not treated much different, that it was hypocritical of America to talk against apartheid and racism in South Africa while america was experiencing same. Well, 2 wrongs don't make a right, you don't use a negative to justify another negative. So because the west isn't perfect mean they shouldn't campaign against other imperfections?? Why can't we address both issues separately? We can campaign against the 2 negative issues separately. |
StarchAndBanga:It shouldn't be in your place to determine what people choose to do with themselves.. they should have the freedom to do what they want and then live up to the consequence but they certainly don't deserve to lose their lives over it. And mind you, anal sex which you described can be done by anyone, whether between males or male and female. Do you think that a guy and a girl who have anal sex should be killed? |
izzou:I know that some abroadians still cling to parts of their culture but I'm saying that for most, it's just farcical at best. It's very practical to adapt to your new surrounding than clinging unto your old identity. A001 did not address my question adequately. I'm asking him what is really the importance of one's cultural identity and he's yet to be downright specific. |
A40:I mean I do agree with you that there are some extreme elements on the liberal side of this, but it's never wise to use extremism to define a position. It's just iike you advocating for religious tolerance and I start listing the extreme points of religious zealots and painting all religious people as extremists that want to bomb everyone that doesn't agree with their religion. That's exactly what you're doing. I mean, just look at this plainly, in Qatar, if a gay person is caught, that person is a 100 percent guaranteed to die!! That's extremism by definition. That you have a culture that kills people purely on the basis of sexual orientation in the 21st century is alarming. This wasn't an issue in other world cups because none of them share such an extreme position. Yes, there are varying degrees of tolerance about the issue but none of them have this extreme plurality in their society. One where gay people are guaranteed death and have to live in fear all their lives. At this point, I ask you directly, DO YOU THINK LGBT PEOPLE SHOULD BE KILLED FOR EXPRESSING THEMSELVES?? That question above is very important because it defines your ideological stand and position on this argument. |
A001:Okay, very good that you've started being a bit specific, now you mentioned language being a key part of culture. Now remember that my first question was; as an Igbo man, why is my Igbo identity important? You've replied that culture is as important as breathing, it's something we can't do without, that If I'm not igbo, then I'm definitely adopting another person's language. To which I will now ask you, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?? I mean, I imagine that Nigerians having a common language like English, even though it's not any of our indigenous language, has been much better for all of us, I mean here we are, both communicating, speaking and writing in English and being better for it, our cultural identity (language) playing zero roll whatsoever. I mean, many cultures have been lost to time and we (the human race) are still waxing strong. Is anything wrong with all of humanity losing the very different aspects of culture and adopting a unifying culture or identity?? I imagine that many normal abroadians here have entirely adopted their new culture and have shed most of their old cultural identity and are thriving because of this. They speak the language of their host country, they eat the meals that are indigenous to their host country, they dress in the attire of their host country, I mean for the most part, they've shed all shreds of their African identity and I ask you, is anything wrong with that? |
Emmynator:Very good. I support this. |
A40:Nobody wants to "indoctrinate anyone" into any lifestyle. They are just asking for fundamental basic human rights of queer people, is that really such a terrible thing?? Do you really believe that gay people should be killed for their choices, in this 21st century? Think of it this way, if we had very rich country host a world cup but had a historical culture of killing people on basis of their skin color, ie killing black people, wouldn't you chime in advocating for the global platform to be used as a means of sensitizing others to the danger of the issue?? LGBT rights have not been an issue in the last few world cups because gays are not killed in the countries that have hosted them and the host countries have had no issue with LGBT fans. From Russia18, to Brazil14 to south Africa10 and Germany 06, all these countries are quite receptive to LGBT people. But you have this in a country where gay people are publicly hanged to death. the country is hostile to gay people which means that fans who used to go to the world cup with their partners would be unable to do that. Common man, that's not right. |
A001:This is too broad and theoretical. I'm asking you to be more specific about the advantages of me upholding Igbo culture. What is the advantage of me having an Igbo identity? Please note that I'm very specific about my tribe here? You could also answer using your own tribe as the example if it suits your answer better. |
A001:Can you point out specific advantages of the "local cultures"? |
A001:Please answer me this in few words. What are the advantages of upholding traditional cultures? As for me, I'm a liberal, which means I advocate for constant change, progress and upheaval to the status quo. I always think we should strive for better change, but I digress. Back to my question, can you tell me tge advantages of me being an Igbo man? What do you think being Igbo means to Igbo people? What are the benefits of being Igbo? Why should I maintain my identity as an Igbo man? |
Spy360:Finally!!!! Someone that gets me! Why I've been been sooo persistent on this is because I think people still do not understand the motive behind the points he makes here especially pertaining to politics. I want it to be extremely clear to the blind that dayo's motives for political support does not come from a place of primarily wanting to see Nigeria work but just purely on the basis of tribalism. Nigeria working is just a secondary benefit to the first. You see me lamenting about abroadians as pertaining to this election because people here don't yet seem to grasp that these individuals virtually have no stake in these elections. We are just numbers for their viewing pleasure and satiety. They are very far detached from the consequences and realities of a bad decision taken during elections. Look at dayo who consistently and staunchly campaigned for buhari across the board here, rather than hide his face in shame after seeing the disaster than buhari turned out to be, he is doubling down now and still misleading people and people can't still understand that this person is a tribal warrior. I want to make sure that that point is solidly driven home before the elections are here

reccy:I want you to do just one thing. Click on this posts below and tell me who or what provoked these extreme talking points? When you're done you will recognize how inane it is to try and justify this amount of hate. Just check out these posts below and be baffled. https://www.nairaland.com/2170484/fashola-got-tongue-lashed-saying#31140690 https://www.nairaland.com/1018933/ojukwu-killed-lt-col-banjo/9#11864997 https://www.nairaland.com/2001202/oba-ikotuns-mother-died-what#28097212 |
raumdeuter:Dayo can you define rape and how this post of mine depicts rape?? And last I checked, you were the one defending actual rapist's on this forum. Once you hear any girl has been raped, was your first course of action not to blame the victim and defend the perpetrator?? |
raumdeuter:You see dayo, you see how you have to invent narratives against me, while I'm literally using YOUR OWN WORDS. I don't need to twist words or manufacture false narratives or evidence, I'm literally using YOUR OWN WORDS. Dayo when I say you are formenting hate across the internet, your words below prove me right, when I call you a black Hitler, your own words below prove me right. Hitler hated an entire group of people, people with a "certain blood". Then he sent them to labor and concentration camps where they died. Hitler deported Jews that had lived in the land for more than 100 years, here you are, advocating the same. Man, I'm not the one painting you black, your own words are doing the work for me.
|
raumdeuter:It's not unrelated man, we're talking about the perils of tribalism and you are it's poster child. You are all that is wrong with people clinging on to meaningless tribal identities. Fostering tribal wars while being secure from it's consequences.
|
raumdeuter:Unfortunately man, you set yourself up to be the epitome of all that is wrong with our society. Your post's which depict a begrudging hate towards an entire group of people will continue to be used as an example of what people shouldn't be. A good and successful person would never ever ever say these things.

Ibime:Wait, against who was freeman accused? |
reccy:As to your first point, I don't have a problem with anyone. I was making a point about tribalism and I gave you an example of one of it's downsides or negatives. I was highlighting how tribalism breeds unnecessary division and disharmony. Further more, let's even suppose that I have a problem with the individual, does it still take away from the message passed? Does the messenger have anything to do with the substance of the message? Let's say you have an enemy who you hate Soo much, if that enemy of yours brought a message of warning that perhaps someone poisoned your food which you were about eating, will your hatred of the messenger make you not take his warning and act accordingly?? In short, does my "supposed problem" with dayo have anything to do with the fact that he engaged in extreme hateful rhetorics and warmongering while being 10000 kilometers away from the problem? As to your second point, seems we both agree with each other, tribalism should be eliminated as soon as possible. Tribal identities are completely useless and even inimical to our modern society. I know of an old Igbo class mate of mine in uni who had a long standing relationship with his babe who was a gbagi girl. Gbagi is a minority tribe around abuja and niger state, because of their religious and tribal differences, the parents forbade and rejected the marriage. Tribalism is terrible. |
reccy:That was actually a very brilliant take from Jude. Few days ago here, someone was saying that there is nothing like being detribalized and I could only laugh at such an inane take. Myself and I'm sure many others here have spent most of our lives in cities which are by nature diverse. Throughout our lives in this modern era, we've been exposed to different cultures, different habits, different foods, people of diverse backgrounds etc etc. Many of us here had teachers from very diverse backgrounds and denominations, we had friends from different tribes, such that our tribal identities have been shed to a very large extent. For me as an individual, my name may be the only tribal identity I possess. I barely dress in Igbo traditional attire, my meals are a blend of different traditions, I barely speak my language because I'm in a city. I mean I want to think that I'm as detribalized as can be. I'm not defined by my tribal identity and I don't carry my tribe for head. Afterall, my great great grand parents were killing twins for fun. They were sacrificing their fellow human beings to invisible deities, they were segregating amongst themselves (osu). Should I be proud of such a culture?? What is the benefit of belonging to a particular tribe? What is the natural advantage an Igbo person has that a Yoruba person doesn't and vice versa? Tribe is a human construct that needs to he cast away as soon as possible. Tribalism is simply a tool of division amongst the human race. How do you explain a person who claims he's successful in life harboring an opinion such as this?

A001, I asked earlier. Does Islam as a religion forbid alcohol? And if it does, what is the punishment? |
