Nigerians should not let themselves be decieved by the pro-tinubu comments they see here or the suspicious likes on some of his posts. Know that unlike you and i, average users of this site that come to read news once in a while, the APC has employed the use of troll farms, bots and "digital media team" whose job during the campaign is to try and shape and manipulate public opinions. Just see the faces of attendees. And someone will come here and post useless smiley emoji and boast of crowd. Smh

[quote author=Tataffo post=118697748]Inorganic crowds forced to the rally by a soon to be Dictator-in -chief is really painful to watch. In a democracy, you are forcing people to close the source of their livelihoods because a politician is campaigning? How on earth is this legal? Walahi, Nigerians have really suffered. And you have otellectuals coming here to support this repressive system. If this is happening during campaigns, ask yourselves what happens when this man gets there. |
Word for the wise.

BlueRayDick:Bro, my post is not a slight but a call to action. All of us are victims of a terrible system in the country put in place by bad leaders but what we've got so used to is fela's proverbial addendum, suffering and smiling. Most of this thread's pages is littered with our wailings and anguish of a broken society and it befuddles how the victims of that said society are not also passionate about seeing a change and are still passive towards politics which is the only vehicle for change. Last election, only 10 percent of population voted. This election you have educated people still saying they don't know if they will vote. So tell me how one wouldn't be enraged seeing the recurring pattern of complaints without actions. |
izzou:These are examples of top of the line tickets, they are many others below them. House of reps, governorship in some states, state house of assembly. The party needs funds to help those bottom line tickets. The candidates you mentioned are actually bankrolling themselves or clinging onto Obis coattails but many other unknown candidates need help. |
PrinceOfLagos:God bless you brother, you've just motivated a whole lot of people to do the same. To put their money where their mouths are. May your resources be replenished. May God grant us our heart desires. |
OasisX:There are 2 different accounts, one for the Obi presidential campaign and one for the labour party account. Labor party has different candidates across different strategic states that needs funds. With Labor party's strength right now, there are some governorships and senatorial seats that can be targeted and got especially in the SE and SS. Incase you don't know Labor party already has a senator from imo state. He decamped few months ago. Just like buhari pulled across several governors and senators along in his ticket. Many politicians in these regions are going to ride the coattails of Obi to win various seats. Victor umeh of Anambra is running for re-election now under Labor party for senatorship, Alex Otto is definitely unseating PDP. The frontrunners in Enugu senatorial seats are the Labor party aspirants. But they do need party support logistically, hence the appeal for donations. But why are you concerned? Aren't you supposed to worry about Lagos citizens whose public treasury is being syphoned?

Notice something? The people who are complaining about our terrible health care system are still the same people not bothered about doing something about this. We all have been victims of the mess of this country, my own blood relatives died due to the inexistence of any emergency system and the lack of proper health care system, it fuelled my passion to see a Nigeria that works. I didn't fold my hands and say well, that's Nigeria for you. It's very disheartening that does who share the same anguish as I did decided to cave into the hopelessness and for lack of better words become cowards to the situation. They are still forming fencesitters. They've been fence sitters for 10 years and decide to continue be fence sitters and complainers. You can't eat your cake and have it. Do your own part. We have an opportunity once in 4 years to effect change of our leadership structure at all levels, we better grab it by the scruff of the neck, if not we lose our rights to complain. |

Ibime:And pulisic seems to be a leaning Maga right? |
OasisX:Shebi you see why my receipts dey dey absolutely necessary? This is one point where your colleagues are rationalising corruption and how APC was funded. Do you disagree with them?
|
OasisX:Sorry what kind of structure are you talking about? The question is, how is the APC funding it's campaign? Or do us one better, how did APC fund it's campaign in 2015? |
samz77:Seun, this is part of the Tinubu troll farm, you promised to rid us of all these paid propagandists. They are ruining your site. Nlfpmod, afam4eva,seun
|
OasisX:Simple question I'm sure shame no go allow you answer. Where is APC getting the money it's using to fund it's campaign? |
Emaprince:Bro, you will simply be cutting your nose to spite your face. In life you're faced with realities and the reality is that Obi does not have the money to fund a national campaign. Labor party does not have the resources to campaign nationwide. Obi does not have any state treasury that others loot from. Both of us support Obi despite his underdog status because we dare to dream. We dare to dream that a small party will usurp the establishment. The parties that have billions of stolen funds used to fund campaigns. How else do you think the magic will happen? Ive said it before, the veey best way to look at this is with a gambling mind. I'm sure you've played bet before. You staked an amount that you could afford to lose on the hope and premise of getting more benefits than your initial investment. Here we are being asked to invest in our future with a little disposable income. We already know what the money should be used for but we are a bit apprehensive whether it will be used appropriately, well we can never know that answer for sure but what we do know is that we have a shared interest with the organisers which is; a desire to win. We simply have to take that leap of faith. We have to take that chance and hope for the best. You knew that there was a chance your money could sink but you still played anyways, and sometimes you must have won, other times you must have lost. This is the exact same scenario. There is absolutely no way Obi wins if there are no funds to run a campaign. The onus lies on us to trust the candidate we support that he will use the money judiciously. I mean if we can't trust our own candidate to spend our money well for his own campaign then why the hell are we voting for the candidate in the first place? By voting for him, are we not trusting him to use the nation's wealth judiciously as he's done previously. Is one of Obi's selling point not the fact that there is no complaint or record of corruption?? That compared to the others he's practically a saint? So why the restraint in walking the talk and putting our money where our mouths are? |
hopefulLandlord:I'm well aware of this. Have I said anyone is perfect? |
A reminder of why we made our choice. Donjazet2: |
A word for the wise
|
iamoyindamola:Is there really a part of your mind that thinks that I haven't contributed mine?? And then I will be visiting different thread's soliciting for others to do the same? Bro, I walk my talk. I'm very much described as a goal getter. I don't just make noise, I back up with action. Know that I dropped far more than the 1k but I don't need to prove it to anyone here unless you assure me your would match my donation. |
Let it be noted that my questions still go unanswered. If you wish for a better Nigeria, how do wish for campaigns to be funded?? From supporters or from looted state funds? How much do you think a national campaign costs?? Is the labour party wrong for soliciting funds from its growing supporters? |
PDPGuy:There is no healthy democracy on this earth where the funding of any campaign is not from the citizens themselves, we've just been absolutely browbeating by these old politicians that we can't bring ourselves to stand up and try again. The failure of the system have destroyed many's mentality that they can't even separate logical from illogical anymore. They wish to see a rebranded system but they can't bring themselves to be part of those that ignite that new system. Any Obi supporter that allows his mind to be bullied by the opinions from detractors here certainly lacks conviction and discernment. |
Please do well to contribute your quota to the actualization of our dreams for a better Nigeria. Let's help build the platform that will transform the Nigerian political space. Nothing is too small.
|
Please remember to pick up your PVC and vote.
|
Meanwhile don't forget to contribute your quota. Together we will rebuild a Nigeria of our dreams.
|
Our idolo setting the pace. Even the drug baron was in attendance, to tap from the well of overflowing wisdom.
|
They laugh at you for following a "small party", then they laugh at you for trying to build the "small party". what Chicago heroine cannot do does not exist. |
Another useless propaganda piece. Tinubu will lose Lagos. That's for sure. Non indigenes outnumber the indigenes and APC has been winning by less than 100k margins the past few years. Tinubu is a bad product that doesn't inspire hope in the masses especially the youths who are now disillusioned with bad governance and are very energized to vote against the misrule of the APC. Tinubu will be shocked by how big his loss in lagos will be. |
Every Obi supporter should hear me well. Don't let yourself be misled. You know in your heart of hearts that we are the underdogs. We are United in our passion and desire to see a new Nigeria. That starts with us. The journey undertaken does require some sacrifice. We know very well that the vehicle we have chosen to attain that desired dream is severely handicapped. We are the underdogs. Is it not funny to you that the same people who laugh at you for supporting a small party are the same ones undermining your efforts to build the party up? Shine your eyes oo! Where do you think oasis desire to undermine this fundraising effort comes from? Politics is ultimately about numbers, and to get those numbers, money will definitely need to be spent, money which the labour party does not have, money which no matter how small to us will go a long way to increasing the odds of our success. If you really lean towards voting Obi, please take this message to heart. Don't let naysayers decieve you oo. The other campaign outspends us 5 to 1, but they can't buy tye support our candidate already has. Our advantage is that we have a candidate Soo easy to sell. But funds are really ultimately needed. Just do the best you can.
|
Ebukacute:Let's look at it from an angle of betting. You know what is called a calculated risk, right? Let's say the it's a 50-50 chance, that's a 50 percent chance that your small money is aggregated with other people's money and then used to pay for big sign boards at strategic locations, radio advertisement slot to create further awareness, payments to canverssers at rural areas, renting of vehicles for campaign rallies etc etc or on the other hand, the money is misappropriated. Are you not willing to stake 1k with such odds?? That you became a Peter Obi supporter was because of the awareness created by others. There is only Soo much that awareness can reach online. Boots on the grounds are needed. Is 1k not good enough an amount to take that calculated risk? Is it not worth gambling for when it's for your own future and the fate of your country? Again, ONE THOUSAND NAIRA!

Again.
