Russia getting a small taste of its own medicine. ![]() Kudos Ukraine. make sure you destroy the entire bridge next time. Cut that supply route off. |
Emaprince:Emma, you really are surprising me. You're a poster here I actually admire greatly. Quite sad to see some of these things you're saying. |
Unlimited22:What exactly makes you say this?? Reading this your post, one might think I may not sympathetic to those who have been accused falsely. Have I ever made such point?? Didn't I say I even wish to see the Mendy accusers face their comeuppance? So from whence is this sentiment of yours coming from? Before I made my post yesterday, I saw many commenters who because of this issue were essentially painting the entire female gender as opportunists and golddiggers and I had to set the record straight that because this has happened to Mendy, doesn't mean that indeed women themselves are not at greater risk in the society to men by virtue of stats and facts. So where is this post of yours coming from, please? |
US Treasury: Helping Ukraine is the best thing you can do for the global economy “Ending this war is first and foremost a moral imperative,” Yellen told reporters in Gandhinagar. But it is also the best we can do for the global economy,” she added. According to Yellen, "doubling our support for Ukraine" in its defense against the Russian Federation is a "key priority."

Victory for Ukraine as they recapture the village of staromaiorske. Gradually gradually we are getting there. Everyday the Ukrainians inch closer to their goal of freedom!! Slava ukraina.

Time would tell. The nato alliance are now producing weapons at a faster pace than Russia can. Only time would tell. Let's see what summer has in store for us. |
Bombblacks:Your posts were very self explanatory. Anybody who read it will immediately understand what you meant. There are different nonverbal forms of coercion. Some people may have sex without any physical violence but the decision to have that sex didn't come from common ground between the 2. This place is an overwhelmingly predominantly male dominated space so the toxic masculinity on display is expected with everyone trying to outdo themselves in hyper-masculinity. Except of course when it comes to addressing the ills of a fellow member. |
Emaprince:I'm surprised by some of the things you're saying. |
Senator Lindsey graham calls for more support for the Ukrainian war.

Mille:And here I was thinking I would "exchange views without hate speech". You guys are something else. And maybe you should check the meaning of autocracy. Putin has basically made himself president for life. A country where opposition is murdered, imprisoned and persecuted is certainly not a democracy. Cameroon has had a single president for 40 years, just like guinea. Yet the citizens go to the polls. Polls that are already rigged or results are already known due to state manipulation. That is autocracy. One where there is no viable opposition. Russia is one. No one should be president for almost 25 years like Putin has been. |
Kingsnairaland:Fine, you have my curiosity. Please as briefly as you can, tell me why on earth are you supporting Russia, an autocratic regime, ruthlessly invading another sovereign country. I, for example apply the standards to others that I apply for myself. I sure as hell wouldn't like any other country to invade me claiming that I must join them by force when a vast majority of my countrymen don't want to join them. I enjoy the perks of democracy. I like the fact that no matter as buhari or Jonathan or any of my state governor, no matter how they Bleep up reach, they must surely come down from there when their time is up. So I can't see myself supporting an autocratic country against a democratic country. What about you? WHY DO YOU SUPPORT RUSSIA? |
Masterviolence:Well for all intent and purposes, YES!! The US are directly responsible for the post-war economic prosperity of south Korea, and Japan and many European nations via the martial plan of which countries like Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, West Germany and France and lesser extent (Taiwan) were the biggest beneficiaries seeing as these were the major theaters of war. Without the infusion of liquid cash from the US, influencing of economic agenda setting and subsequent multi-decade "military payments" running into several billions, these countries wouldn't have the capital to have kick-started their economies and not to forget, protection from communist Soviet and what their economy has grown to what it is today. So again, YES! The US is directly responsible for the speedy recovery of some of these countries and outright growth of the others. |
WrriterNig:This question is a very stupid question. Because in this context, "defeating Russia" is not necessarily invading them and overpowering them completely. The west is seeking to inflict a "strategic defeat", which means simply removing Russia out of Ukraine. Pushing Russia out of Ukraine and recovering Crimea. If that happens, that will be a humiliating loss for Russia on the international stage but it wouldn't be a complete defeat and subjugation like Nazi Germany or Japan which the conquering nations now occupied fully. So to answer this question, if the west achieves it's aim which is to essentially send Russia back, the aim of Ukraine entering NATO will now be against any FUTURE threat from any non-nato allied force. |
Itsrm:Nobody is saying it's a crime. He made an analogy towards something else and people are pointing out that even if it's not a crime, that doesn't mean it's alright. There is still "wrongness" there. |
Emaprince:Actually it's still the same. It's just that a lot of people like you seek to highlight voices of "extremists" as if they define the whole movement and use those extremists as a means to denigrate the entire idea. You guys fail to ever highlight the nuances. A plain example, once any entitled girl talks about how she expects a man to spend untop of her head. Even though this is antithetical to the core ideology of feminism, you guys will say that that is what feminism is. The privilege of men spending while female holds power. The persistent attempt to do damage to that word "feminism". There are rational feminists and there are irrational feminists, what doesn't change is the ideology itself which seeks equal rights for women across board. |
raumdeuter:Actually, there is a power play there which makes it wrong. Just like a boss in a work place and a junior staffer. There is a power dynamic there which makes it difficult for the lower person to fully express their minds whether they truly want it or not for fear of ostracization and the knowledge of negative consequences if they turn down the approach. |
I agree with you that it is very hypocritical for a man to have said that. Kholiwe:There are many men who feel that there are entitled to fvck many men but the women should not have any such entitlement. If a man fvcks around, it's him being a "player". If a woman fvcks around, it's her being a "hoe". Nothing shows a woman's disadvantage in society more than this. |
seankafor:Reading this and have to say, not saying these in a negative way but you might legit have sociopathic issues brought upon by mummy issues. Please don't take this wrongly. |
Please educate yourselves, I beg you.
|
larride:Your last statement is indeed true but like I said earlier, the prevalence of both issues are very wide in disparity. One offense does not cancel out the other. The percentage of women who "falsely accuse" men of rape is farrr less than the percentage of men who actually do rape and then physically assault women.. And furthermore, this issue of "false rape accusation" is a bye product of laws that were made to indeed protect women who were factually being disadvantaged in the society. I would then point out that these laws are not even a thing in the vast majority of countries. So women are still heavily disadvantaged. They're still on the short end of the stick. What we should do is call for stronger rules that both protects women and then punish the few who misuse that privilege. |
So it's fair to say that you all wrongly classify feminists as "bitter" people. It's fair to say many of you don't even understand the meaning of that word, just like many don't understand the meaning of the word "woke" but throw these words around casually and in a denigrating manner. Ignorance should not be celebrated. Learn more on concepts of issues before applying their usage. Feminism is inherently a good thing. Being "woke" is inherently a good thing. These are both social justice issues aimed at addressing systemic injustices against disadvantaged groups. If you don't understand these concepts but you are denigrating them, then you need to check yourself. If you do understand these concepts and you are against them, you also need to check yourself and your ideals. You are part of a problem in the society. |
Emaprince:Sorry I didn't see that. Could you emphasize this for me please. Can you give me your definition of feminism even "in today's context" as you put it? |
Slovakia, Lithuania and Estonia, a block of the Baltic states, jointly approve a military package worth 300 million euros. They comprise of rocket propellers, missiles and armaments. Also contribute 30 million euros to humanitarian aid. |
Emaprince:I appreciate the answer but you still didn't address the main question. You've used the word, feminist a lot. I'm asking, what exactly do you understand that word to be, because you seem to always use it in a negative sense. So I'm asking, what do you believe the word "feminism" means? |
Emaprince:One question Emmanuel, what do see as feminism? What do you understand by feminism and lastly, do you see all feminists as bitter people? Edit; you just said, "men are expected to bottle up". Now the question is, "by who". Is it not the same men too who have made it very difficult for other men to show emotions? And wouldn't you want that situation to change? What you just described has a term, called "toxic masculinity". One where it is societally expected of men to not show any kind of emotion. For example, if a man publicly shows love towards his woman, it's now called "simping". He is belittled for showing an emotional side and we all take part in that. That's just an example. |
Unlimited22:No whoever has such binary outlook on things can't be objective enough to fairly judge these situations. Although there is still a caveat here; the occurrence of this issue that happened to Mendy is far less likely than the danger women actually face all over the world. A woman is more likely to believed when she says a man raped her because of the wide and outstanding prevalence of the issue. The sheer number of women that are raped on a daily basis around the world is not hidden. Men are more physically stronger than women and as such at a greater tendency to subjugate them as evidenced by facts and stats. I just gave you an example, every single one of us know someone in our lives who were beaten by a man. I know 2, my grandmother and a close neighbor. Homes where the man consistently beat the woman to stupor. So it happens. |
iamoyindamola:You see this your constant trolling? Trolling me once I make any comment, I never get your time, but know that I give as much as I get. That's all I'll say. |
Amoto94:Change as in? |
iamoyindamola:True to form, you would rather we start name calling and insulting each other rather than speak civily amongst ourselves. And as usual afraid of quoting directly but attacking from the sides. Cowardice as usual. |
Unlimited22:That is essentially the body of my post. The message I'm passing. I recognize fully that what happened to Mendy is absolutely terrible and the girls are called out and made to face penalities as a deterrence to others. But I am seeing some comments here which basically attacks the entire female gender of this and no mention of the fact that indeed women do prevalently suffer at the hands of men. I'm indeed stating the mutual exclusivity of the two. |
What happened to Benjamin Mendy is very unfortunate. I hope that the false accusers are made to face very heavy penalties to serve as a deterrence to others. The law has to respond heavily to women who make such malicious and criminal slanders towards men and especially men in wealth and power. HOWEVER, having said that, I hope we don't use this as an opportunity to actually minimize the fact that women are still as a matter fact a more endangered gender especially when it comes to domestic abuse, violence and sexual assault. Women all over the world face a higher risk of violence from men, I mean we live in a world where some women are killed just for rejecting male advances. Women's rights are only but a dream in a lot of countries, more than 3 billion women around the world are still seen as inferior in rights to their fellow men. In many countries, a man's words holds more sway in court than a womans'. There still places where women are barred from going to that are only open for men, from stadiums to schools, to social clubs, to even stepping foot outside their homes without permissions of the male. So yes, while what we've seen in this Benjamin's case is deplorable, it pales in absolute comparison to what the vast majority of women around the world actually faces and live through. So please do not use this as a cover to diminish the fact that indeed, women are actually passing through hell in the hands of men. Every single one of us in our lifetime must have personally known a woman in our life who has been severely beaten by a man or men. My grandmother was one of many wives of my grandfather who saw hell in the man's hands and it was culturally acceptable. For some of you, it could be a sister, a friends sister, your mother, your female cousin, your niece etc. But you all know a woman who has told you of how her babe or her husband or even her father has beaten her severely as an adult. So please once again, I beg you guys not use this as an opportunity to diminish the fact that indeed, women's existence are basically in danger in the hands of men all over the world. They are indeed denied rights and seen as inferior.

Again, for peace to reign again, it's very simple, Russia must stop this invasion nonsense and senseless killings and GO BACK to their country. You guys can't claim to be mad at the west for previous invasions which you claim were senseless and yet support this one which is the ultimate meaning of senseless. Stop being hypocritical Russian shills. Stop compromising your moral compass for a clowning tyrant. |
