[b] "I don't think I need to send you a memo to remind you about how I set my examination questions because you all should be conversant with it by now, if you study as you are supposed to and you know everything you are supposed to know then you will definitely have no problem writing my exam. For those who think they can't study enough or are not brilliant enough to write the exams, you know how we do it, come and see me in my office so we can talk about it" said Mallam Jibril and as soon as he was done addressing the class, he packed his textbooks and left. Mallam Jibril is one of the lecturers taking the economics students, he is well known for his corrupt ways, if not the most corrupt then he should be among the most corrupt lecturers in the whole of the school. He is a man that wouldn't be less than 50 years old in age but he still enjoys flirting around female students who are young enough to be his daughter. All the students are aware that you cannot only read and think you will pass his exam, you must sort his course before you can pass. 'Sort' is the slang students use in referring to bribing a lecturer to pass his/her course but in Mallam Jibril's case, the girls can either sort him by cash or by having an affair with him while the boys can only sort him strictly by money. "Guy make we go chop for cafeteria before the next lecture start" Ben said to Isaac who was behind him sitting beside Ejiro. "Olboi I no get money oo, na you go pay" Isaac asked. "You dey craze, I tell you say na you wan pay before" he replied and stood up to leave. "Ejiro I want to go and eat, I will see you when I get back" Isaac said to Ejiro and left the class. "Olboi you no even greet Ejiro at all" Isaac asked Ben as they were walking down to the cafeteria. "I don greet her when we been jam for gate this morning" Ben replied like he didn't want to speak further on it and Isaac perfectly understood and hence he didn't probe further. They haven't gone far from the class when they heard a feminine voice calling there names, they turned towards the direction where the voice was coming from and they realised it was Beatrice. They tarried for her to catch up with them. "Where are you guys going to" she asked as she hugged the both of them. "We are going to the cafeteria" Isaac replied. "Ohh but can I talk to you for a minute" she said to Isaac. "I will just be under that tree" Ben said to them and excused himself. He walked down to the tree and sat down on a small piece of wood facing their lecture room. Coincidentally Ejiro also walked outside the lecture room and looked straight to where Ben was and immediately looked away. Ben kept looking towards her side and at that moment he realised how deeply he must have hurt her, he remembered all the moments they spent together, he felt guilty for all the pains he must have made her go through. He decided to walk towards her and see if they could talk things out. As he was about to cross to meet her, he was obstructed by a car that suddenly pulled up infront of him. It's Anne's car. "Where are you going to in such a hurry" Anne asked with a straightface. "Errmm Errmm We are going to the Cafeteria" he stammered. "And why are you heading towards that direction" she asked suspiciously pointing towards where Ejiro was standing. "What directio...." Ben raised his head to where she pointed to and wanted to reply but he couldn't finish the sentence. He ran across the road without looking for oncoming cars, he ran towards where Ejiro was standing, she was lying down on the ground now. Isaac who saw Ben running like a mad man ran after him without even knowing why Ben was running. "What happened to her" Isaac shouted when he saw Ejiro lying on the floor. "She fainted again" Ben shouted back to reply. They both lifted her and rushed towards where Anne's car was. Anne who had also realised what happened ran out of the car to open the back door and then rushed back to ignite the car. Ben and Isaac laid her in the back seat, Ben sat beside her and Isaac ran to sit in the front. It all happened so fast that Beatrice couldn't even move or ask what was happening, before she could realise what was happening, Anne has already drove out of the school compound. Anne drove so fast that even the best racer in the movie fast and furious will have to give his best to beat her in a race at that very moment. In a twinkle of an eye, they were already in the University of Abuja teaching hospital. The nurses rushed her in with a stretcher and instructed them to wait at the waiting room. After they waited for a long time, the doctor came out from the room they carried her to. "Doctor what's the situation right now, is she alright" Ben asked as they all rushed to where the doctor was. "It's like she hit her head on a very hard substance when she fainted which has made her fall into coma" said the doctor. "Coma" they all screamed "The coma is not what you guys should be worried about right now" doctor "What then should we be worried about then" Isaac inquired "About what has been causing her to faint" he replied "And what is that" Ben. "She is suffering from Cardiac arrhythmia" Doctor said "What's that" Anne asked after what seemed like a long silence. "It is a group of conditions in which the heartbeat is irregular, too fast, or too slow" the doctor said and when he saw they didn't seem to understand what he's saying, he continued "Many types of arrhythmia have no symptoms. When symptoms are present these may include palpitations or feeling a pause between heartbeats. More seriously there may be lightheadedness, passing out, shortness of breath, or chest pain. While most types of arrhythmia are not serious, some predispose a person to complications such as stroke or heart failure, Others may result in cardiac arrest" "Isn't she too young for all this terminologies and sicknesses you are calling" Anne asked. "Yeah it happens mostly to people from age 60 and above but on a rare case like this, it happens amongst young ones" the doctor replied smiling. "Okay what is the way forward now" Ben "She needs a surgery as soon as possible" he replied "Please proceed with the surgery immediately, I will foot all the bills" Anne said. "The issue now is not about the money alone, it's about the kind of surgery she needs" "What do you mean by that" Ben asked angrily. "She needs a heart transplant" the doctor replied with a serious look this time. "Heart transplant" they all chorused. [/b] |

[b]Isaac's yet to understand how a girl could be so beautiful, ever since he spoke with Beatrice in the morning, he hasn't been able to think straight. Immediately he got back to the room, he had began arranging his room, when he was done arranging, he cleaned up and got one of his best shirts on. After making sure he is looking as nice as he could, he decided to engage in watching a movie while he waits for Beatrice to come and call him as she promised. It was a cool Saturday, a perfect weather and day to stroll round the school with a very beautiful girl, he thought. "If there are gods, why is the world so full of pain and injustice? It's because of men like you ". "There are no men like me, Only me". That's Isaac favourite quote in the HBO series Game of thrones, he intentionally decided to watch that particular episode just to hear that quote by Jamie Lannister also known as the King slayer. He was about to rewind that part when he heard a knock on the door. He stood up immediately to open without asking who was knocking because he was expecting Beatrice already. "Wooow, you look beautiful" he said to Beatrice who was standing at the door. He had been rehearsing that line over and over since morning. He actually thought it would awkward saying it if she was still putting on the same clothes she had on in the morning but fortunately for him, she had changed clothes. She's now putting on a jean and a strip top. "Thanks, you don't look bad yourself" she replied He ushered her in and offered her a seat which she took. "Okay so where do we start your sightseeing, should we start on campus and then go to fun places or you will start with the fun places and end it on campus" said Isaac "Awwn that will be nice but am really exhausted, let me rest a little and then we might go later, is that okay with you " she asked, more like pleading. "Anything the queen wants" Isaac replied and took a bow to indicate the royalty. They both smiled and he sat down beside her. "So tell me about yourself" she asked excitedly. "There's nothing much about me hey, my name is Isaac, am an only child, my dad is a clergyman and my mum is a civil servant, studying economics in this school, I am single and searching l, I have a bestfriend who is also my roommate" "You have a roommate" Beatrice cuts in "Yeah I do" he replied. Where is he then" she asked again Just as Isaac was thinking about how to explain that he's now staying with his girlfriend, there was a click at the door, Ben barged in closely followed by Anne. "Olboi your father no teach you how to knock before you enter person house" Isaac shouted "Na your father pay my own part of the rent abi, you dey craze. I know say you don miss me well well" Ben replied laughing "Miss you fire, when I no be gay" he replied, started laughing too and stood up to greet him. As hard as it is for the jolly friends to admit to it, they had missed each other for real. Their friendship has gone beyond ordinary one, they see each other as blood related brothers. He went ahead to hug Anne and offered her a seat, that was when he remembered he had company before the two of them barged in. "Please pardon my manners, Beatrice meet my best friend and roommate we were just talking about and that is his girlfriend" he introduced. "So you guys were gossiping about me shey, everything he told you about me is not true oo" Ben said as he shook hands with Beatrice. Beatrice has been smiling ever since Ben and Anne came into the room. She was so entertained by their discussion. "Guys this is Beatrice, she is our new neighbour" Isaac "You mean am just your neighbour right" she asked teasingly after shaking hands with Anne. "Ohh okay she is my friend too" Isaac replied and the all laughed. They all sat and gisted for a while, they got to know each other very well. "I think this place is boring, why don't we all go out and have fun" Anne suggested and they all concurred. They drove around in Anne's car to different places and had lots of fun, It was really a very exciting first day for Beatrice. "Thanks guys, I really do appreciate everything and it's nice meeting all of you" Beatrice said as she dropped off from Anne's car. "You are welcome" Ben and Anne replied "Guy you no wan drop abi you wan make we carry you enter your room ni" Ben asked Isaac who was already dozing off in the car. Clearly he had taken too much alcohol. "You dey mad, I think say una wan enter inside compound na" Isaac tried to cover up for himself so they won't know he was intoxicated. He dropped down also and staggered inside without even replying Ben and Anne that was saying goodbye. "Your friend is so drunk you know" Anne "Yeah he took too much of that wine and it's very unsual for Isaac to get himself drunk" Ben replied as he reversed the car and drove away. Isaac went straight to bed with all his clothes and shoes on, he didn't even lock the door behind. He slept off as soon as he laid on the bed. Beatrice sat down reminiscing on all the events of the day, from when he saw Isaac in the morning and felt her heart skip to when they were alone and thought about kissing him, to all the fun they had acting like lovers alongside Ben and Anne at the movies they went to and the restaurant and also at the executive bar they went to drink. She kept on thinking about how sweet it will be if Isaac could ask her out the next day, she thought about playing hard to get or just giving in to him straight up. Suddenly the curtains started blowing like there was whirlwind , she checked through the window to see if it was about to rain but to her surprise the weather outside was nothing like how it was inside her room, it was a normal weather condition outside. She started feeling cold immediately and began to shiver, the little lamp she had on beside her bed began to fluctuate and eventually went off, fear gripped her. She decided to run to Isaac's room but as she stood up to run, she fell back to the bed and passed out. [/b] |

[b] "I am Babatunji" the voice replied. "Babatunji? , who is Babatunji, what does Babatunji want from me" he inquired and waited for the voice to reply but all he got was an indefinite silence. He waited and waited until he slept off. He hadn't heard the voice again since then until the voice called out his name again just now. "Babatunji is that you" he asked in order to ascertain if it was truly him. "Yes it's me, I've come to warn you" the voice said "Warn me about what" "You will see everything in the morning, just be very careful and watchful" said the voice. "I don't understand, please explain it to me" he tried to probe further but the voice had gone mute again. He tarried a little longer than usual before finally sleeping off hoping the voice would speak again but nothing happened. Dawn came as fast as it could, the sun came out early and shone brightly through the window into Isaac's eyes, he was still struggling to sleep since it was Saturday and he didn't have any special reason to wake up early. Just when he was starting to enjoy the sleep again, he started hearing noises from the compound. He tried to not get distracted hence he won't be able to sleep again but the noise kept on pounding. "Who tha F is making such noises so early in the morning" he cussed and stood up to check what was going on outside. Just as he opened the door, he saw a very beautiful girl standing with some guys who were unpacking loads from a truck, if he hadn't learnt a lot about coloureds and half-cast, he would have concluded that the girl was an oyinbo (a white). "Hello there, i'm gon be your new neighbour henceforth, sorry I had to disturb you guys this morning by packing in this early but I had to move in because the diploma course I registered for has already commenced and I don't want to miss too much" she said with a very sweet and smooth British accent. Isaac could barely hear any of the thing she said due to her accent and also due to him being lust in her beauty, he kept on staring at her keenly and when he realised the girl was expecting him to say something he tried to do so but he was just speechless. "Auch sorry people say I talk too much and am really trying to work on that" she said as she approached him with an outstretched hand. Isaac reciprocated and they shook hands, her hand felt so cold and soft so much that he didn't realise he was still holding unto the hand. "My name is Beatrice, am a mixed race from a british mother and a nigerian father which practically makes me a Nigerian" she paused and smiled. Isaac smiled back so as to show her that he's following what she is saying. "So won't you introduce yourself to me" she asked "Ohh pardon my manners, my name is Isaac" he managed to say and tried to shake hands with her again, that was when he realised he was still clinging unto her hands. "Oopz sorry about that" he said shyly and let go of her hand. They both smiled. "Okay Isaac nice to meet you but I have to go and supervise the unpacking of my loads, as soon as am done arranging my room. I will come meet you so you can show me around" "It will be my pleasure " Isaac replied and then she left for her room. ***Unknown time*** Babatunji's returning home from the market where he'd gone to sell his farm produce. He really harvested a lot and was very happy that the gods were smiling on him and his sister, he just passed by the chief priest's shrine, he thought about going to pay his homage to the priest and then he turned back, heading to the shrine. The chief priest was so happy to see him, the little boy that he helped to deliver has grown into a man and he was so excited about it. The priest has grown very very old which makes some villagers wonder if he will ever die again. Some even concluded that he has done the ritual of immortality for himself. "Babatunji Omo Ajadi Igo, quite a long time, how are you and your sister, hope you guys are coping after your father and mother's death" he asked "Baba we are coping, the gods are really smiling on us" he replied excitedly "My son am really happy about the kind of man you have grown into but their is something about you that I don't seem to understand " the old man said with a very concerned tone "Baba what is that, am I not doing something right, are the gods angry with me" he asked "I really can't explain, it's like there's a strange Aura around you, come and speak with ifa" the man replied him pointing to the white piece of cloth laid infront of him. Babatunji who seemed to be conversant with the way it is done quickly brought some cowries out, said some words to it and dropped them on the white piece of clothes. The old priest performed some incantations, it took him a lot of time because he wasn't as fast and agile as he used to be due to his old age. "Why is death looming around you" the old priest asked him after he was done with his incantations. "Death? " he exclaimed "Yes my son, something is not right. Run home and come back to tell me what's happening" the priest instructed. Just as he was about to exit the shrine the priest called him back "Babatunji, no matter what you see at home, run back here immediately without any hesitation" he said Babatunji who has now gotten used to running anytime something bad is about to befall him ran like a mad man, he ran like his whole destiny depended on it. When he entered his house, he found both Ashake and Abeni lying on the ground lifelessly, he wanted to feel their pulse and check if they're still alive but he remembered the chief priest's instructions. He immediately rushed back to the shrine. "Baba my sister and my intended bride is lying on the ground lifelessly" he said as he was panting. "Calm down my son" the man replied him and started reciting the incantations again. "My son, they are at the point of death" the priest spoke softly "Baba they can't die, please help me, what can we do" he pleaded "There's nothing we can do, one of them have to die, all you can do is to save one and allow one to die" he replied "Baba I love the both of them, I can't save one and let another die" he started crying. "Would you rather watch the two of them die" "Noo baba please, they can't die" "My son, we have limited time else the both of them will die if you don't reach a decision right now" priest Babatunji closed his eyes and thought about it, he loved his sister Ashake so much, they have been together their whole lives, she would have sacrificed her life for him without a second thought. Abeni on the other hand has been a pillar of support for him all through his life, he loves her and she loves him too, she would gladly give her life for him also but he could only save one of them. "Which one of them have you decided to save" the chief priest asked. [/b] |

[b] Few weeks after returning from the trip to the village for the burial, everything has returned back to how it used to be. They have all moved on with their lives pretending like nothing out of the ordinary happened in the village, Except for Ejiro who was still baffled and finding it hard to move on without someone that she regarded has a friend, someone more than a friend to her. She hadn't spoken to Ben ever since their return, since she was now certain that he's dumped her for Anne. On the contrary she has been getting closer to Isaac ever since their journey back from the trip, their friendship has been getting stronger than it was before. Most times they talk on phone, sometimes he visits. Ben on the other hand has been preoccupied with his love for Anne, they were gradually taking their relationship to the next level. Ever since Anne returned from the village, he has been staying at her place and they were literally living as couple. Everything's going on cool with them except for the visions they see anytime they kiss. The most remarkable one that occurred was the one that occurred last night, Anne just came out of the shower and had a very short white towel wrapped around her. Ben who was busy with his phone couldn't concentrate on what he was busy with anymore, his eyes were fixed on the fresh laps revealed by the short towel wrapped around her. He was still picturing her without the towel when she actually untied the towel and let it slip away, he'd always fantasised about seeing her naked but he didn't think her body will be this hot and Sexy, it was like he was staring right into the body of a goddess. His brain thought about it, his little soldier responded and his feet reacted, he gradually walked towards her and placed his hands on her breasts, he fumbled it and then stuffed it in his mouth, he kissed her on the neck and was gradually moving to the lips but he thought about the visions and flashes. He returned his mouth back to her breast and kept on suckling it, she began to moan softly, she was beginning to enjoy it, she felt his cold tongue on her breast and it felt so great. She put her hands round his face and raised his head to kiss him, he didn't want to kiss her but he didn't know how to go about it without sounding rude or offending her. Their lips intertwined, he was cautious at first, scared of seeing those horrifying visions but after a while that they have been kissing and the visions didn't pop in, he gave the kiss his all, in no time he was kissing her passionately while his hand was locating it's way into her womanliness, he finally navigated his hand there and felt the wetness, Just as he was about to insert his hands inside of her, the vision popped in and before a twinkle of an eye, he blacked out. "What actually happened last night baby" Ben asked Anne who's busy watching one of her favourite telenovelas on telemundo. He very well knew she doesn't like being distracted or disturbed anytime she was watching but he didn't have much of a choice than to ask her. "Babe can we talk about that later please" she replied with eyes still focused on the TV "Okay if you think this telemundo thing is more important than me then it's alright" he said with a very serious tone. "Okay Okay" she picked up the remote and switched of the TV. "What's your question again" she asked "What happened last night while we were making out" he replied "I should be the one asking you, one minute we were kissing and the next minute you passed out, I was actually very scared and thought about the worst, then you started speaking gibberish but you were still unconscious" "Gibberish, what was I really saying" "You were calling some funny names, some local names like that, I really can't remember the names" said Anne "You can't remember any of the names I was calling" he questioned her and starred at her like she was lying to him or hiding something "There was this one you kept on repeating and repeating, I think it is errmmmm" she raised her head like she was trying to revive her memory and remember the name. After thinking about it for a long time, the name popped into her head. "Omolabake" they both chorused . It was past midnight when Isaac started hearing the voice again, voice popping out of his head, he wassn't as bothered as he was the very first day the voice spoke. It was just a few days after they returned from the village, Ben had practically moved to Anne's apartment, he only comes here once in a while. He was trying to read for the exams that's coming up in a matter of months, it wasn't really easy reading alone because he's used to reading together with Ben so he tried to make it easier by inserting his handsfree in his ears and grounded his favourite song 'Ojumo by Asa. He was beginning to get into the vibe and the book he was studying when he heard a voice call his name, he removed the handsfree from his ears to ascertain if someone just called him or not, after few seconds when he didn't hear nothing, he inserted the handsfree back into his ear and then the voice called his name again. He removed the earpiece again and waited for few minutes but nothing happened, the compound was as silent as a graveyard. He plugged the earpiece back and then he heard the voice again, he pretended like he didn't hear it and then the voice spoke once more. "Isaac can you hear me" the voice said He didn't know what to do, is he supposed to reply the voice or just run away he thought. "I am sure you can hear me" the voice said again "Yes I can hear you, who are you "he replied barely audibly "Am glad you can hear me after all these years, you used to hear me when you were a kid but all of a sudden, a barricade was placed between us" "I don't understand what you are saying, I can't remember hearing any strange voice when I was little, what are you talking about " Isaac inquired "I know you can't remember but someday soon, you will recall everything vividly" "Please who are you" Isaac asked with a frightened voice "I am Babatunji" the voice replied. [b] When they all realised that Ben didn't run and seem to know the strange man, they started coming out of their hidden places one after another. Most of the girls still remained in the bus, except for Clarieta, she wasn't in the bus and she was yet to come out of the bush. "Wise one please help us, he is dying "Ben said pointing towards where Isaac's lying "Where is that girl" Chief priest "Which girl are you referring to" Ben asked "The girl that was with him when he fainted" He replied The boys went to check for her in the bus but she wasn't there, they checked the bushes around screaming her name but got no response. "She is gone, her mission is accomplished already" the chief priest spoke to no one in particular. "What do you mean by that wise one" Ben inquired "Like I told you and your friend the other day, in due time, you will understand everything. Step aside" he said to Ben Ben obeyed immediately, and then the chief priest brought out some charms from his bag, he started chanting some incantations. Bringing out different charms and touching isaac's forehead with it. They were all looking at him with so much attention, it was just like what they see in the movies but this time it was happening right before their eyes and it's very real. When the chief priest realised that there were still some negative powers holding back Isaac from resuscitating, he instructed two boys to lift his body and carry him farther away from where they were. Ben and Seyyid lifted him and did has the chief priest has instructed. "There is no need to fret, he will be alright, you people should continue fixing whatever is wrong with your bus, you must leave this place as soon as he wakes up" the chief priest said and proceeded to where they took his body to. He continued with the incantations, he put some liquid stuffs in his mouth and something that looks like Kola on his forehead and in his two hands. The process continued for a long time, the people at the bus were done with fixing the tyres and are waiting for the chief priest to be done. Some already gave up hope that Isaac was going to die, some including Ejiro were already crying. Clarieta was still no where to be found. The priest still continued incantating and then stood up suddenly from where he was squatting, he was yet to be on his feet when Isaac sneezed. 'What happened to me' Isaac asked. 'We should be the ones asking that question, you passed out when you went in to the bush with Clarieta' The memories began pumping in, he remembered how he followed her unwillingly, he remembered the sex and that was when he blacked out. 'What did you see when you passed out' the chief priest asked. 'It was like I was taken back to decades ago, in a very primitive village, I saw a girl talking to me, she called me a name I really can't remember the name again, she told me to be strong' he paused abruptly like something just popped into his head. "S'ara giri omo ekun, iwo lo ma bori, (Remain brave strongman, you will conquer) those were her words exactly" he explained. Ben and Seyyid kept staring at him like he was insane but the chief priest understood what was going on. "It has been written already, all these are just the manifestation of the prophecy" the chief priest said "What prophecy" they all chorused together. "In due time you will understand, rise up my son. It's time for you people to leave" he replied them The others that were by the car were now worried about what was going on with Isaac in the bush were they him, one of the lecturers was about to go and check up on what was happening when he saw them coming out from the bush. They all jumped for joy to see Isaac on his feet, the girls rushed to hug him and the boys just shook hands with him. 'You people should start leaving immediately' Chief priest 'Leaving, But we haven't seen Clarieta yet, how can we leave without her' Ejiro 'You have to leave without her' chief priest replied her with a stern look 'I can never leave without my best friend' Ejiro insisted 'Best friend you say' the priest asked almost shouting. 'Yes' she snapped back 'What do you know about her, have you ever seen her family, have you ever been to her father's house, have you even ever seen her talk to any of her family members before' the priest shouted again, he was wearing a very furious look. Ejiro thought about all the question, she has never seen her speak of or to any of her family, she practically had no friend apart from Ejiro herself. Many a times, she had asked her about her family but she just shoved the questions away. "You really don't know her and you call her your best friend, that girl is not who you think she is" the chief priest said with a soft tone. "She has fooled you all but you are not to be blamed because this was how it was supposed to happen, the only thing altered in the prophecy now is that you are supposed to be dead due to what happened to you in the bush" he pointed to Isaac. "You are not dead now because the gods are behind you, you have to be on the look out now because she will come back to finish what she has started, farewell to you all" he left immediately he finished talking in order not to be asked another question. As soon as the chief priest left, they all ran into the bus out of fear of what may happen to them if they remained there all by themselves. All that happened in the space of when their bus had flat tyres till now seemed like a dream to them all, they just had a first class witness of things that will be tagged as superstitions in a movie. Isaac almost died and the priest said it was Clarieta that wanted to kill him, Clarieta herself is no where to be found. Isaac's wondering why Clarieta would even want to kill him, he wondered if they have ever met in the past before meeting in the university. Ben's wondering what all that just happened has to do with him, is there a connection to him in the prophecy. Ejiro's thinking about how she has been fooled by Clarieta, she was so blinded by her love for her that she couldn't see the obvious. Most times she had caught Clarieta talking to herself, sometimes she was absent minded. How could she not have made anything out of all those scenarios. The journey back to Abuja was a very silent one unlike when they were coming to the village full of excitement and anticipation of the adventures that they will experience. It was indeed a very interesting one, one they will never forget in their lives. [/b] |

They didn't know if he was referring to Ben or Isaac but certainly he was addressing one of them because he still kept his eyes on both of them. "Greetings to you sir" Isaac managed to say after recovering from the shock. "I think you are making a mistake sir, we are just strangers here and we have never been here before" he continued. "The gods make no mistakes, in due time you will understand all that seem to be puzzled to you" the priest cuts in and immediately walked away. Few minutes after he had left, they were all still in shock, there was silence all over until Ben stood up. "Guys let's leave this place right now" he said and beckoned on the palmwine seller to come get her money. They all got into the car and drove to where Miss Anne prepared for them to stay. The ceremony had come and gone, it was indeed a very great one. Great politicians were there, top class musicians also graced the occasion. Different types of magazines came to cover the event, the students and lecturers were baffled about who Anne's father really was but when they realised he was the renowned Chief Ola Daniels, they didn't probe further. His name alone speaks a million words, he was the former Chief Judge of the federation, he was a very indeed a very influential man. The highlight of the event was the part whereby some strange strange looking appeared in a very strange way and dressed in a very strange attire. They came to take the body of the deceased claiming he was one of them when he was alive and that his soul belongs to them. Everyone including the deceased family ran into hiding when the strange looking men arrived at the event. Just some few close friends of the deceased came out and engaged in a little argument with the strange looking people, the argument took a very long time but at the end it seemed they reached an agreement. The men performed some spiritual rites on corpse and then returned in the strange way in which they arrived. Everything had to be hastened up, the body was lowered and the event was over. The fear of what happened during the burial ceremony motivated the students and staff to decide on embarking on the journey back to school immediately after the event, they decided to take a night journey back to Abuja. Ben decided to follow them back to school because Anne had to partake in some family meeting and rites. She tried convincing him to wait so they could return together but Ben couldn't wait to leave that village with all the strange things that happened. Ranging from the strange man who came to meet them at the palmwine's shop to the strange men that came to the burial ceremony. It's really weird to Ben and Isaac that throughout their stay in the village, Ejiro and Clarieta avoided them completely, they were both around the guys that came together with them from school all through. Ejiro was always flirting around Seyyid, one would actually believe they're dating but Ben was sure she was just doing that to get back at him and make him jealous. It was barely an hour that they started the journey before the driver noticed something wasn't right with the bus, he parked to check and found out that the rare tyres were both flat. If it was only one tyre they would have managed it to an open place that is much safer but two tyres is really not manageable so they had to change the tyres right in the middle of the thick forest. It was pretty much risky but it's even more riskier to travel with two flat tyres. The boys dropped down to assist the driver while the girls were standingby, gisting about what happened during the ceremony. They were still struggling with removing the first tyre when Clarieta dropped excused herself from the girls and approached where the guys were fixing the tyres. "Isaac can you please walk me down a bit, I want to ease myself but am scared" she said He was surprised and baffled, how come she is asking him to follow her, why him, she has ignored him all through their stay, why didn't she ask those guys she was mingling with all through. "Alright" Isaac said and followed her. He really didn't know what was happening, he wanted to turn down her request but he couldn't, he didn't even know why he was following her, he wanted to turn back but he couldn't. They kept on walking until the bus was out of sight, Clarieta pulled down her trousers and her panties respectively therefore revealing all there is to see, she moved closer to Isaac and then took his hand to her womanhood, he tried all his possible best to resist her but he couldn't. The next minute they were kissing already, his hand in her puna, his trousers and boxers were down already. Just like magic, he was inside of her already, the deed has been done. Clarieta's mission has been accomplished already. As soon as they were done, Isaac fainted. Clarieta was expecting that to happen already, she dressed up and then shouted for help. They heard her voice from where the bus was parked and immediately they all rushed to where the voice was coming from. "I was right there urinating when I heard him screaming, I don't know what happened to him" she was shouting behind the guys that carried Isaac and rushed out to where the bus was parked. They laid him down just beside the bus, the guys scanned through his body to see if he was bitten by a snake or another animal. They couldn't find anything, Ben checked his pulse and realised it was really weak. They didn't know what to do, the screaming girls didn't help them think straight, Clarieta was crying out so loudly, Ejiro was holding her back, there was so much noise around. It was already past midnight, the forest around them was so thick, if they wanted to run back to Anne's house, it would take forever and if they were to finish up with changing the tyres, he might be dead by then. Ben knelt down beside him thinking of what and how he could save his best friend's life. Suddenly the screaming increased, some of them ran into the bus, some ran into the bush. Ben turned around to see what was scaring them away, he was afraid when he saw someone in an all white attire, in the middle of a thick bush at this time of the night. He wanted to run but then he remembered he had seen the person before. "It's the same man that came to meet us at the palmwine's shop, the one that the palmwine seller addressed as the chief priest" he said barely audibly. [/b] |
