manmacho: this is your personal opinion.God is now d "representative" of d pastor (man)? I don't want to believe that ur church kills logic dis fast! |
bebechuks: Still, that does not give anybody any right to call a pastor a 419ner, let God be the judge. And your level of faith also determines your miracle. If you are faith is like a mustard seed sure you can take hold of your answers. Pls oh we all should be careful.Yeah...let God be d judge of pastors while pastors keep judging their fellow men...disregarding d injunction u just raised. Oyedepo can comfortably slap out evil spirits from a suspected witch and allow Sunday school children disappear from his church without any investigation while Helen Ukpabio will majestically kill/cremate perceived child-witches but cos we must not judge, we keep mum...waiting for God to come and judge! One day, they will dupe or kill ur loved ones, let us join u in praising God for d upcoming judgments. Sleep on! |
buchibabe: Abeg who's feeding us wit all dis gists sefI saw Enebeli on AIT yesterday. Gbenga, d producer of Focus Nigeria was bitterly lamenting d fraud. According to him he had visited d ace actor two times btw Monday and Wednesday this week in an Abuja hospital and d man personally told d story of his encounter with fireman. D terrible thing is dat d pastor posted d fraud on YouTube in order to woo more afflicted people to his church. |
Who doesn't know? Our "MOGs" are mostly fake and our Christians are senselessly gullible. |
But why shud my president become an energy-saving bulb ambassador? We have bn using diz bulbs for some years now. I hate this!! |
Even if govt backpedals and retains UNILAG, it will go for a bigger and more painful jugularr. It will rename Lagos to Abiolaland thus making changing UNILAG d lesser evil...so pls wake up! |
And who was deluding himself or herself, believing that d decision wud b reversed? Raise ur hands! |
For the third day running, Nigerians both young and old have been debating the presidential address on Democracy Day. This is democracy and freedom of speech reigns supreme. The only thing that bothers me is d painful fact that our youths and even our role models have devoted 80% of their useful time in debating just one item out of over 70 other debatable ones...an item I sincerely consider insignificant and inconsequential given the enormity of d challenges we face in this country, which GEJ himself raised all over his speech. We have said nothing about d fact that we use a billion Naira daily to import and rebag expiring rice and now president GEJ wants all of us to eat cassava bread, biscuits and sausage. The price of whole wheat bread will increase by atleast 50% due to new high tariff on wheat flour. Again, tomorrow, we will have a new PHCN price regime. Are we guaranteed of improved supply of electricity by d increase in bills? Education? What has d government done? How sustainable is d Almajiri Education hype? Other infrastructures....roads, railways, water, healthcare, etc? We have not really thought in any other direction ever since 29th May, 2012. We have only concentrated on the change of UNILAG to MAU as if it is the most important to or most impacting on d Nigerian people's livelihood. I now make bold to suggest to govt to rescind its decision and announcement to baptise UNILAG to MAULAG. Pls reverse d change of name cos UNILAG is not even up to Abiola's pedigree and sacrifice. Immortalise Abiola with a larger monument. I (after careful considerations and wide consultations) feel that nothing befits the memory of the man, Abiola other than a very large coastal city where he lived in, laboured, worked, built businesses, became super rich and squandered money. His wife, Kudi was even shot and killed by d same FG on this same land (and waters). So i humbly suggest that we rename Lagos. Yes Lagos! U read right....rename Lagos after Abiola cos he lived, breathed and died a Lagosian. We can't continue talking tongue-in-cheek about this matter anymore. Call it Abiolaland, Abiola City, Abiola Mega City....anything that bears d Abiola name!. When this is done, those protesting the rechristening of UNILAG to MAULAG will by themselves call it UNIABIOLA...automatically!. I think this is simpler and a victory to democraticy |
People keep sayin that Abiola was more of a sportsperson, was he a footballer, a boxer a wrestler or an athlete? He only donated to sports just like he gave scholarships.a. He also held a first class academic degree and worked for LUTH: he was more into d academia to me. |
PapaBrowne: What U've written is called double speak. You said Lagos is such a great brand name. Fine. You said MKO deserves a big time honour. Fine. Now, isn't it cool to associate such a hero as MKO with such a great brand like Lagos. You didn't make any noise when that polytechnic in Ogun was named after MKO. In your opinion that was OK. But here you think UNILAG is too big for him.Kai! Dis guy u r very mischievous. Hahahaha. I came too late to d party. Was busy arguing in Kobo's thread instead of coming here to get a real dose of laughter. U're good bro...#VeryGoodBadGuy |
Who is Brendan? No oh! Martin wud av bn a better choice. |
Foolishness seems personified in dis OGbeni Aragbesola o.k. Chei! Wonders!!! |
Eziachi: So what you are saying is that, from your heart of hearts, you were given admission to study at both UNIZIK Awka and University of Lagos, that you will choose UNIZIK against UNILAG?And UNILAG is now in d league of Oxford and Cambridge? The climes are wide apart...politically and infrastructurally, even in curriculum. So no! I will choose an Oxford over a UNIZIK. Den to UNILAG vs UNIZIK, are my points baseless lies? If not, given @lastpage's premises as per d import of a brand-name, is UNILAG an "apple" yle UNIZIK is an Orange? They have d same infrastructural challenges, share d same curriculum and have similar quality of professors and condition of learning! Lasu is best compared to Esutech and Imsu. While UNilag is compared to Unn, Ilorin, OAU, UI, ABU, UNIzik, and a few others. All these egoism won't pay us here. I don't like Abiola but d reasons bn hyped here aren't germain at all. |
lastpage: ^^^^^Stop displaying "ignorance so openly"!U made a lot of valid points about brands and branding....attachment...very good points yet fraught with with exaggerations. UNILAG cutting btw 300 and 400 UME marks for admission (y not 500-700 out of a possible 400?), then making UNIZIK vs UNILAG an orange vs apple scenario are only few of them. Pls bro, demand for admission exceeds available space in every Nigerian (public) university ...not just UNILAG. This is due to carrying capacity, nothing more! UNIZIK only comes a close 2nd to UNILAG in terms of candidate preferences not in d quality of teaching or graduates. If UNILAG has any edge over UNIZIK, its in d length of existence....50 yrs vs 20 yrs. Y does UNILAG have more people applying to study there? Lagos! Lagos is d most populated state and d only city-state in Nigeria....so residents and neighbours of lagos will study in lag cos of proximity and d presence of job opportunities in d state. Pls tell d truth always and don't colour it as u just did. |
Eziachi: No he was saying that more than 50 years history/brand name UNILAG doesn't deserved to be taken away and given to some one else. Assuming that Abiola is an Alumni of UNILAG, and your where ask where he graduated by a foreigner? What will say?It only sounds repetitive dats all! Furthermore, it goes to portray Abiola d alumnus as a great man who did so great as to have his almamata named afta him....org may be his lineage as a great one that his dad or grandpa cud attract such honour. U seem to b just interested in d sound of d name in a sentence and not on whether d man Abiola merits any memorial honour from d same Nigeria many think he helped plunder...and that's what d lady, Kobo wanted to find out from naysayers like u. As for those trying so hard to prove dat d man had no link with unilag, pls note that he was in account dept of luth. |
semid4lyfe: MKO was from Abeokuta in Ogun State and I believe there's a Federal University there.let me attempt helping u. MKO did all or most of his biz in lagos, he had properties in lag, he lived in lag, his children were raised in lag, his wife was shot and killed in lag cos of June 12 democratic struggle...above all, lag was the PRONACO HQ and operating base. So everything MKO died for is epitomised by lag. Some yoruba politicians are saying y not Abuja or another city, to give MKO a national face? And u r here saying y not take it to his village and make him a village head? Na wah! |
Jasiel: First and foremost, we're not daft...GEJ decided to look for trouble for himself when there was none. Are there no other serious issues for him to focus onAnd 3rd mainland is place for stranded people? Does it look like people's residence? Meanwhile, u r protecting on NL...better than 3MB. Again, u guys are truly daft! People will now reasons to make a pass and tell their parents they lost focus cos unilag changed to maulag. |
Mumu unserious students shud know that schl belongs to d FG and not their parents. If they can't condescend as low as accepting MKO's name on their cents, they shud drop out and enroll in AUN Yola. Atleast that one has a gud name....and gud money too. |
Funny sentence for an old man...except it runs concurrently and takes into consideration d length of time he spent on trial. Even at that, he will need his grandchildren to help complete d jail term when he is long gone to dust. #powercorrupts. African leaders shuddering take note! |
zaboy: so Abiola is getting all these because he allegedly won the election on June 12? well, since we all know Buhari won the election in 2003, why shouldnt an institution be named after him as well?Let him go and die in jail while fighting to reclaim 2003 mandate first....then after 14 years, we can consider naming UNIJOS after him. |
FBS: With this kind of president..I fear the country is lost. Misplaced priority.Do u know how much d country loses on public holidays? How many public holidays do u want in Nigeria? |
nyabingi: gej has finaly suceeded in keeping us bussy for atleast the next one month and i bet you the communication companies will benefit from this more, there are other things we should consign ourselves with eg nepa!!Don't mind small-minded foools. Of all d things GEJ read out, people, even top lawyers and politicians cud only pick out UNILAG vs MAU issue. 2moro, someone will say GEJ isn't intelligent. I bet u he is! He has bn using our youths d other way round. |
are you alright?
thought u were alright...guess i now know better. Lastly if u do hate today's pronouncement just go take poison. Of all d things in dat long address, its on unilag that's tending. When will u guys understand hoodwinking? |
yd849ja: Harvard was an original name. It has always been called Harvard IDIOTIC CRETIN you are!Imbecillle! It has always bn called Harvard in honour of someone. So y wud someone else change dat as u rushed to compare that with d name change of an FGN school by d same FGN dat owns it? |
GboyegaD: Are you that stupid that you do not know Harvard is a private school? The face remains that you do not change the name of a school the way GEJ did since it was established by law. You and GEJ do not understand the tenets of democracy you claim you are trying to uphold.I c u can only read and write without thinking to get d premise of an argument b4 including an ediotic input. Check what made me send d guy back to Google den come back and apologise for calling ya fada names. Was Harvard university named after someone? Who was that?....private or not! Den d fact that d school is private makes d guy i quoted even more stoopid for putting it on d same argumentative pedestal as unilag, which belongs to d FGN. |
and what part of PRIVATE university is skipping your cognitive faculty [if you have any]?
i c u just jumped into my post without checking where it came from. Ok, it is a private uni....so what's d argument about unilag? Is it private? So d guy dat mentioned Harvard, was he putting it on d same pedestal as unilag? Can obama just change d name of some other person's investment by fiat? |
yd849ja: I can see google has finally come to your aide. You are not quite of age for a conversatory audience with me. Thank you anyway.have u checked what i asked u to check? U sound sillyy |
yd849ja: I can see google has finally come to your aide. You are not quite of age for a conversatory audience with me. Thank you anyway. |
enough of the senseless chit chat. harvard is a PRIVATE university, you num@&&&ulls, and in spite of that, has had the same name since 1632. abeg make una go siddon for corner!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvard_University
Did u read d article or are u just ranting like a self-acclaimed intelligent lad who ends up failing all exams cos he's too smart to listen in class? Who was d school named after? When it was named or established doesn't matter here. |
yd849ja: I won't condescending into abusing you but rather educate you. Naming Universty of Lagos after MKO to me belittles the status of the man Abiola. Immortalising Abiola to me is long overdue but not in this way and manner. UNILAG is an icon on its own why give us another icon and then take the already established one. NO! This his action I see as a political gift to appease the SW and an insult to our collective intelligence as Yorubas. Why name a University in the SW after Abiola why not something more of national awareness in Abuja or somewhere else in other parts of the country. Why not a monumental statue like Lincoln memorial in DC erected in Abuja. Having him on our currency like you said. Come on this man is only trying to score a cheap point in the SW with us and we are no fools! If this insults ur collective intelligence, then u guys are not really as intelligent as u are deceived to believe. Did u say he shuddering erect a status ifo Abiola's memorial? That wud b a waste of money and u know it. U will even b d first to come here and shout that we have no light, no water, poor roads and GEJ is wasting money to remember Abiola. |
yd849ja: This only goes to show how unintelligent the likes of Rueben Abati, Pius and co. really are. These are supposedly his advicers. It's a shame this nation has finally gone to the dogs. How unearth would they have allowed him to make this blunder. Institutions of higher learning are not political toys that you switch their names as you so desire. They are status of heritage and they are historically positioned to tell us how far we have come development wise. No idiot there toys around with Oxford, Cambridge, Havard, etc. More so GEJ you are not a military president that you can unilaterally make such decision. You require nation wide consultation for such move. I therefore call on the National assembly to reverse this silly mistake. Can someone tell Jonathan Goodluck that University of Lagos was established by an act of Parliament in 1962 and the name can only be change through an amendment to that act. I think this president is being chased by the shadow of military mentality. Let us challenge this act of illegality in the court of law.fool! I give u 2 minutes to research and tell me if Harvard was not a man's name and if Harvard University wasn't named in honour of John Harvard. Now run and check up b4 killing ur virtual image cos it can haunt u in real life |
Everyone is just commenting on dis like they knew any beta |
Try n be concrete na.I tot a previous post just said Dr abi Pastor Fire just healed d poor man? E heal abi e no heal?
