bennie1980:Now what shud d govt do? Bury his widow and family with d dead man. . .give them state-live-burial? mallorca:Sam Loko was sick for more than 10 years and was earning money tru acting b4 and during his sick period! If he cud not treat himself, did he or his family ask for help? D man is dead and people want to blame another for not taking care of him. Pukkah: Pukkah:And u must second every silly opinion and even compound it by asking why govt did not "come to his aid when he was sick". Leave your father to the mercy of govt. . .don't take care of him so when he dies u'll bar govt from "extracting political capital out of" his state burial. Nonsense! RIP dear Sam Loko and God bless Chime for this noble idea. May Sam be immortalised in Enugu pls. |
If u are a student, u are meant to study and be among d best in your class. . .it shows u are serious! Some companies offer scholarship and job opportunities to best graduating students of some courses. . .that is one use of CGPA! If u wish to go abroad for your masters degree, most schools will ask for 2nd class upper (even from 4.00) and above or u'll be recommended for a remedial programme. Finally, CGPA is very important if are in school. What is wort doing at all is worth doing very well. If after giving your best u still end up with a low CGPA, u are not as intelligent as d guy dat made a 1st class. . .he has a brighter chance to success but that does not mean u'll be less successful in real life. U can always remedy ur poor performance through trainings and stuff. |
This now sounds like when people were shoutin "Zik of Africa is Dead!", making it sound authoritative. this is bad . . .like they are afraid of him. What has d life or death of Ojukwu to do with d good /bad governance in Nigeria today? This man is suffering and people are bent on making him read his own obituaries on a daily basis. Below is what I got from http://dailytimes.com.ng/article/confusion-over-ojukwu Confusion over Ojukwu |
taiwolad:Sorry for d late response. In any case ur boss or u (with his express authorisation) MUST go to d bank branch of his choice. Let ur boss go to d branch of his bank closest to him with a written instruction to transfer his ATM and PIN from whichever branch it to the one close to him. This instruction will be processed and d card & PIN mailed to such branch as requested . . .ur boss or u (if he authorises u) will then go and pick it up. U can only collect d card but NOT d PIN. Ur boss will have to pick up d PIn him/herself. Ur boss shud also be ready to bear d cost of mailing it/them. As for home delivery, never done that one but I guess it is possible only in d case of the card not PIN and the account holder MUST cover d bank in d case of any loss of money thru d ATM card or loss of card in transit. This indemnity is taken care of by a well-written, correctly-signed and self-delivered ATM transfer request form or letter. |
^^^ yes but the person must go to bank to get d PIN. U can't use d card without it's PIN, so I suggest u go get both d card and PIN to avoid losing ur card in transit. |
Our leaders lack ideas! Selling kero in a stadium. So Rochas and co are telling me that if petrol (gasoline) is hoarded out of the market, they will assemble cars in a stadium and sell directly from trucks? Then how many people are manhandled in the struggle to get kero from d tanker? This is stupidity. . . hope they will have enuff fire fighting equipment by d time it gets to gasoline. |
^^^and that was what Awo did in d SW of the 60's and 70's. . .I think it worked wonders for them. Our problem is lack of will to continue with past good policies. . .policy reversal. Education subsidy is needed but it must go along with improvement in d quality of delivery, which shud be geared towards entrepreneurship. . . practical rather than theory. |
The opinion held by @ekt bear seems shallow to me. Saying that cos someone may end up not hitting top-class jobs after graduation as an engineer, d person shud not train to become an engineer, which has always been his dream is shallow. Telling us that tax-payers' money shud not be used to train such a person (d person shud be trained by his family) is akin to asserting that his family members are not tax payers. . .that they are mutually exclusive. Or shud we now use his family members' taxes to train others that we are already sure wud work for Shell and BP? What happens to adding more value to our education so as to make d engineers and other graduands able to practice on their own as consultants and manufacturers. . .thereby becoming employers of labour? Do u mean to tell me that subsidy is the only work d govt needs to do? Our universities can be helped to attain global standards and also increase their capacity except we feel that d country is overpopulated. In the latter case, we shud adopt Chinese one-child-per family policy. |
no jupiter on earth is stopping me on monday from withdrawing my money from the bank, thank God by monday, I will be on night shift from next week. This is what I was saying! Now multiply this statement by say, 30,000 middle class customers of PHB and then by 3 banks. . .not to talk of the major customers who will develop heart attack with d news. No Jupiter will stop them from fighting for their money on monday. I wish I cud go to some branches with a camera all thru next week. . .u'll be amazed by d response. |
For those clapping for Sanusi, CBN and NDIC's ingenuity at announcing this on Friday night. . .saying it will help d NSE come Monday (when Nigerians must av read and heard d true story), I dare say u are mistaken. August 14, 2009 was d Friday dat d first 5 MD/CEOs were sacked. Sanusi came on TV, in d papers and on d net to allay depositors', employees', investors (shareholders') and national fears of d ultimate failure of these banks. Then on another Friday, he sacked 3 more CEOs, gave out his usual Commando explanations. . .but waht happened to those banks later? 1. Mass panic withdrawal of funds 2. Movement of excess money for PR 3. Mass sack. . .done on separate Fridays as d Banks cud no longer maintain their very large workforce with dwindling patronage. 4. Inability to secure d interest of new investors even with CBN's London, J'Bourg and WDC roadshows 5. Stock market crash in 2009 and 2010. . .even with SLS grammar! 6. More mass sack of workers who knew nothing about d stolen funds. 7 Media trials of d thieving CEOs and plea-bargain for convicted CEOS. . .who spend jail terms in posh hospitals. My point: If they like let dem do it during a one month holiday, d effect will be d same as if it was done on Monday. . .mass movt of funds to FBN and UBA! I think CBN shud av waited till September 30. . .given that they are willing to give Oceanic and others up to Dec 31. |
^^^ my exact concern. . .jobs, crime. |
Yes! U read right. . .Central Bank has revoked the licenses of Afribank Nigeria Plc, Spring Bank Plc, Bank PHB. Just saw it on 234Next Facebook page. More details out soon. http://www.facebook.com/pages/234NEXTcom/114689570833 But my question is; Is it September 30 yet? |
My name is Lovely Okojie, legal wife of Prince Odianosen Okojie, the man Mercy Johnson is set to wed in a few weeks. I was refered to you to help me share my story after all else had failed to stop another woman from breaking my home. I used to have a sweet home but now Mercy Johnson is trying to destroy it. I've not been able to stop crying or sleep well for the past few months. I'm appealing to the world and whoever knows her to please tell her to leave my husband alone. I'm married to this man and there has never been any divorced paper signed. We are still legally married, he's the love of my life and the father of my two lovely kids.source: http://talkofnaija.com/News/newsdetailsone.aspx?NewsId=4198591C-6F22-4CCD-BF2D-8A8F70584A39 |
I have always said that there is no link between who d killer of MKO/Abacha is/was and the trial of Al-Mustapha for d death of Kudirat and the attempt on Ibru. As stated in d topic: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-727537.0.html he is playing on our collective intelligence by deliberately delaying his own trial in order to stay too long in detention without conviction. His long stay will attract condemnations from human rights groups (local and international), the govt will be under pressure to either jail or release him. he may just walk out. |
Why wud anybody want to make his own bribery deals that traceable. . . leaving such audit trail? How can a sane person pay bribe with an MC raised from a state govt account? Childish propaganda if u allow me. |
Convicted or not. . .that one is for the judges. He should face his trial and see if he can regain freedom truthfully. |
Oh yes! we need a science hub in here. Kai! U guys want to create a bedroom for me on NL . It will take me away from d lie lie politics section. Good one Babe! |
Major Hamza al-Mustapha has been standing trial for alleged complicity in the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola and and attempted murder of Alex Ibru. He has been incarcerated for the 12 years his trials have lasted. Many people especially the civil society and human rights groups are advocating his immediate release from prison. To them and most of Northerners (Kano People), he was acting out orders under a military regime, he has stayed far too long in detention and his “persecution for d sins of his masters” is unacceptable in today’s justice system. Al- Mustapha has no doubt become more popular in detention than he was as a free man and he is definitely enjoying it. He was even touted for the Kano government house if he was released prior to the 2011 general elections. Just recently, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha claimed to have video evidences of the murder of Chief MKO Abiola and Gen Sani Abacha in 1998 and how money was taken from our treasury to settle some Yoruba leaders/elders (either for allowing the necessary murder of their kinsman or to make them quash all struggles for d June 12 mandate). As usual, our pressmen have gone to town sensationally with the story and their readership is already asking for the evidence . . . to know the names of those traitors (who killed Abiola, and Abacha and those that took bribe to allow d murder of MKO and forfeit his fight). The court has granted his plea but I have my reservations on the matter. 1. Major Hamza is not standing trial for the murder of MKO Abiola and/or Abacha. He should produce video, audio or written evidence to prove his innocence in d death/murder of Kudirat Abiola and d attempt on Ibru’s life. He should use his evidence to free himself of or implicate others in d case at hand. 2. With the kind of attention his trial enjoys, HAM seems to want his perceived persecution to linger for as long as possible. He seems to be using every opportunity he gets to delay justice and frustrate prosecution while the govt is pressured from all corners to release him from incarceration (for staying too long). This man is a very intelligent army officer and he uses his intelligence well. 3. As soon as HAM regains freedom, his trial will die a natural death as he will use his presence to and connections to intimidate witnesses and frustrate evidence. 4. Even if this man’s evidence indicts people of killing Abacha, MKO and collecting bribes to support their murders or suspend a good struggle, will that serve the purpose of his trial? To make matters worse, he started by naming long dead men (who cannot deny his allegations) on his bribery hypothesis. Talk about throwing d wrong foot 4ward. I truly think he is grasping at every available straw on his way as he drowns. . .maybe he wants to use Abiola & Abacha evidence to buy his freedom from Kudirat’s case (another form of plea-bargaining). He wants immunity from his own “crime” by exposing “fellow criminals”. These are just my thoughts; please feel free to add urs. If u don’t like my points, pls kill d message and let d messenger go. God bless Nigeria! |
apoti:Yeah Okija! D shrine where Gbenga Daniel, Hon Members of Ogun HASS and commissioners swore oaths and used children for rituals. It has to be Okija!!! fearsome place. And I 4got d "Igboroba" Oba who bathed his wife with charm got from Okija shrine (and Oh! d woman later died of AIDS got from drinking from Okija River) plus another oba who derives pleasure in Desecrating corps members (he must av learnt it from Okija!!) |
True, so true! Goodnight Ume-Ezeoke. . .India, USA, Saudi and Europe CAN give medications but NOT life. . .may our leaders learn this and equip our health sector. We can have world class hospitals to keep our world class doctors back home and treat our world class citizens. A man of 76 years shud not av been exposed on the long journey to India for medical treatment if only they (including Ume-ezeoke) did what they ought to have been done. |
No multiple voting ooo (for those with 10 IDs). . .it was called rigging in 2011 general elections |
hey I'm interested! need some 10 kg and need to look robust too ![]() |
This is nonsense!! We donot have bike lanes here in Nigeria and using the pedestrian lane on a busy day is suicidal for even the man on foot let alone d one on bike. This is overzealousness period. In developed countries, they have dedicated bike lanes and even places u are not allowed to enter with ur car. . .only bicycles. |
greyBERRY:An attempt at correcting u. d FOI law is not meant to punish but to seek and obtain info. The punishment for offenses like embezzlement/diversion of public funds has been there all dis while. If u mean that FERMA is at liberty to say "no, d info u want is on what happened before d passage and signage of d law", u are still wrong by my own judgment. |
okay alhaji. . .just wanted to know but even a blind man can see that there are signed and unsigned death warrants hanging above dis man's head. Alot of politicians want him dead and it's only God that can make him complete dis tenure and I believe that for God to continue protecting him, he must start tackling our problems head-on. Chief among our problems are insecurity, lack of power and unemployment. NOT single tenure! |
alj harem:Alhaji, do u mean what is wrong with the President dat may be in danger, d prophet dat "had a vision", d reporters he spoke to (who published it), d ADC that "may kill his boss", Boko haram that "infiltrated" Aso Rock or d poster who saw d report and wanted u to know of it? ![]() |
Hey! I'm not a prophet of doom. . .just saw this and felt like we shud know of it. The infiltration angle is VERY possible. Apostle Babatunde Joel Oyidi – the seer who warned MKO Abiola not to vie for presidency, and predicted former President Umaru Yar’Adua’s death six days after swearing-in, has said thatPresident Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will be killed in office by his aide-de-camp (ADC) if urgent measures are not taken now to forestall it.source: http://talkofnaija.com/News/newsdetailsone.aspx?NewsId=91ED5F30-937E-493E-AA1A-278F81BE20DE |
