All these naysayers shud just shut up and be productive! GEJ has done no wrong in renaming a fading Unilag. This wud even help d school chart a fresh course and stop living in past glory. No one is talking about d proposed center for Democratic Studies at MAU. D man wants our school to be known for something and u guys are running mouths here. Very soon, we will be hosting world leaders at MAU on democratic discourse cos Abiola died for democracy. Look in that direction and stop bn selfishly proud and egocentric. |
OYINBOGOJU: You get it wronghahahaha now I'm finally dead with laughter. This is my best Democracy Day ever, no doubt. |
Those foolish students shud move back to their dorms immediately. I finished from NAU and instead of crying over d ugly name, we creatively coined UNIZIK to make it sexy. Today, even JAMB and NUC calls it UNIZIK. Let dem go into brainstorming sessions and stop being lazy. |
AbuHanifa: That is ikemba odumegu ojukwu university namumu, wait until Tony Anineh dies and c if uniben won't be baptized to TAU. |
Moshood Abiola University MAU...the "MAU" sounds Kenyan to me....reminds me of Ngugi's Weep not Child. But Abiola sure deserves immortalisation and a varsity of UNILAG standing isn't too much. Infact, he doesn't deserve any less, so y are those foools protesting? They want a sexy name like Birmingham University, coventry or Robert Gordon? Tomorrow, someone will cry..."immortalise MKO". And I ask, with what, if not one of d best schools in d land? |
GEJ laboured thru this address written in d simplest of English! Cud it b d frustration of underachievement due to glaring sabotage or due to his low education? Are we really sure our president is a graduate? He has not achieved much in a year even tho some may argue that he was just laying d foundation for sporadic development of d nation in d next 3 years. |
Exponental: if she feels she is a first class product and knows she can defend come rain, sun shine, she should pay d money and bag her first class.....else, let her hide under d 2.1 if she is not too good. as for new horizon, shiiiits happen. 4.3 isn't a first class bros. What's ur level of education? U sure aren't in a university. As for d topic, i think d school is asking for too much. The certification has no bearing on d CGPA and thus on graduation. The students can always register to write d exams at any time. Who is New Horizon? More like Afrihub, NIIT, and other computer training and software companies. They are even less than d above two! They only signed an MoU with d school to make parents pay more money for extramural training. |
If this info is still useful....check VFS Global's website. Google it. U will have all d info u need from dem. Last yr was around 48k both visa fee and commissions. List of reqrd doc is there also. Gudluck |
We are d world and whatever we make of it. I won't buy any conspiracy on this at all. The truth is that Nigeria is very unstable and very far also for competitive importation, refining and sales. If u doubt it, check Canada. So every biz man will surely want to minimise cost and maximize profit...not to talk of constancy of supply, and this is where stability comes in. Shell keeps declaring force majure on some fields every month yle oil thieves in d delta are busy bunkering one-fifth of our productions...is that how to ensure constant supply? China and India too can never cough out what d US pays for light crude...given d distance again. So i will have no hard feelings if US says no more Nigerian crude. I will rather be thinking about d next BIG BAN.G: Tourism and Hospitality? Agriculture? Real estate? Banking? Education? This will help make politics unattractive and "Politician" will seize to be someone's Occupation. |
iykak47: I dont know much about sen. Chris Anyanwu performances but if what i heared about Hon Emeka Ihedioha our future governorUr future governor is dat green-capped rogue? Dude, can't u find another? U still have time till 2019 to make a better choice.....after Rochas, u know? |
Delafruita: Its not the job of a legislator to provide infrastructure or engage in welfarist agenda.their primary duty is to make laws and its in that regard you can assess them.moreover the creation of committees was intended to make oversight more effective and that seems to be the major activity that goes on in the assembly.if you want to assess your lawmaker, find out his committee and how effective he is in the committee.also find out what bills he has sponsored or been a part of its enactmentHave u said anything different from d ones we have been saying? Mention two of ur lawmakers and tell us what and what bills they have sponsored and motions moved. Then tell us their committees and how gud they have bn in there. Hembe was very active in d SEC probe committee, wasn't he? |
Engineer96: Do you know that I sent a message to my senator yesterday, as if I know that this thread will come up, and the senator ignored my message.Bros, u are not alone here. I have had course to dispatch mails...by express courier to Ekweremadu on two occasions. He never acknowledged my letters. Then online? They don't use their fb and public mails themselves. I wonder how they rep us....no feedback mechanisms at all, with dia constituents. |
lukecent: I am proud of Sen Ike Ekweremadu, he done much to ma constituency, Enugu west, & is stil doin more.Pls answer @anonimi's question and do dat with proof. I am from Enugu West....just came back 3weeks ago and will travel again dis week. He may not b d worst senator but what has Ekweremadu really done for us? |
I think loquacious Pat was carried away in d euphoria of d moment that he started singing like a parrot. A man duped u? And u so know him? How? Was it a case of doublecrossing? Or was it an advanced fee fraud? If ur hands were clean...u never took part in any illegality...y didn't u get even? According to Donald Trump, "if someone hits/dupes/doublecrosses u, fight back, kick ass and get even". Prof Utomi has just given me another reason he will not sit at Aso Rock as a president....he is either a greedy fraudster or a freakin coward. |
@redhot, I so agree with u on Odion Ugbesia....I mean dat man literally comes into d senate house with his vitafoam mattress. He sleeps awaaay..... And seems to wake up when there is a loud "aye" sound, he then contributes "nay" without knowing d subject he is voting against....then he goes back to sleep and wakes up to say "my regards to ur wife" then home goes. He is so covered by Anineh that he boasted dat even if ACNE wins d whole of Edo State, u wud return to d senate in 2011 and he did. One honourable Offor Chukwuegbo who reps Enugu south Fed const, is unarguably d dullest rep in both d last and the present legislative year....u wud just find him smile, nothing more....I never caught that guy speaking though I understand he has a very poor English but dats not an excuse. We should all know our reps pls....i don't want to be d one mentioning these guys. Use the link provided by @Funkymallam as a guide to their names....we should let people know that we are watching them even if they think we can't do them any harm. Hey we are talking about 109 senators and 360 reps....a total of 469 men and women getting paid fat sums of money monthly for just living in Abuja and coming to sit down and throw banter. This does not include a retinue of aides who get paid for carrying ID cards. I mean, it breaks my hearth that people can say they don't know and also don't care to know who reps them and how he/she does that. I refuse to call that attitude "apparthy"....cos its not! |
Yes i agree it smacks of complacency to see the above claims as enough but I only raised them as little examples of what each lawmaker may have done outside their legislative duties. Unfortunately, I write this with a small phone and as such can't copy news reports and links...one can easily google the keywords and one will find reports from credible Nigerian newspapers. Again, I must say that my mention of any of d two persons or pet projects does not in any way imply an endorsement of either them or their projects. But if anyone follows proceedings on d NASS, the person will surely see that both men are not benchwarmers in their respective chambers....so their core function may have been covered. Believe me, there are many sleeping senators and reps...in the chambers. Kobo, u or anybody can help search them....news abound but i can't copy them right now. |
muyoto: who be my senator sef?Well, this a good opportunity for u to know who reps u....who either helps develop ur area by way of well-articulated bills or hampers ur development by simply sitting down and marking time in d NASS. I follow d NASS keenly and i know senators and reps who just come in to warm d seats, sleep and bid people farewell when they are woken up from their slumber at d close of biz. They never stood up to make a contribution, let alone moving a motion or sponsoring a bill. I still want their constituents to point them out themselves. That's y I raised this topic, hopefully, people will be drawn to it for qualitative assessment. Bring it on people! |
Kobojunkie: That is an achievement for a Senator who gets millions of dollars in paycheck & allowances each year?I can't call Femi's job/recruitment fair a commensurate achievement to his paycheck but in d land of d blind, a one-eyed man seems to always be king. Surulere people should be able to tell if they benefited from it or not and tell us how many more projects d man has. As for Ndoma-Egba, it was reported that d scheme which started some 4 years ago had produced 270 graduates. It is possible over a four year period. Again, Nigeria is d land of 99% blind. At least they did something! I have always felt I can do better than most of the people occupying both the Green and the Red Chambers of our National Assembly and that has not changed one bit....I may not just b able to compete with them now. |
Anniversaries help us to reflect on and re-assess our lives, businesses, relationships, leadership and stewardship. In Nigeria, we mark and celebrate a lot of anniversaries...from personal celebrations: birthdays, wedding, burial, etc to religious and national days: Christmas, Sallah, independence, democracy...d list seems endless. On the 29th of this month, Nigeria will mark d 13th Democracy Day celebration and one full official year of d Goodluck Jonathan Administration. This is not about Jonathan's presidency as whole lot have been written and said about the govt. This is about the legislature, the National Assembly. How have they fared? How well have they represented us over the past year? Still, this isn't about the Senate or the House of Reps....I wish to beam d searchlight of d individual senators and reps. The quality and impact of their bills, their contributions to motions and the value and effect of their constituency projects to their constituents....these are what I wish we could look into, and possibly score them. Just last week, my senator, the DSP, Ike Ekweremadu celebrated his 50th birthday...another moment of reflection. He will think about his work as legislator, father, husband and as a human and rate himself based on his actions and inaction. I began to check for what he has as a pet project....scholarships, health campaigns, mass literacy, sports sponsorship and talent hunt, etc but could not find any. Hon. Femi Gbajiagbiamila organised d first job fair in Surulere, Lagos while Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba Scholarship Scheme has graduated 270 professionals...as reported. So, I come before you, my people. Let us pick our senator, our rep and rate their projects and dept of contribution to d discourse on their respective chambers. How has ur representative represented u? Let us rub minds as we mark yet another anniversary in our national life. |
They are recruiting based on what's on d ground....people are working already tho they havent started operations yet so ur ideal job may not av bn mentioned. If u're Abuja, go there and drop ur cv with d security man and hope they use it. |
saintchyco: Boss whats your beef about this now , i feel what ever they do is there own cup of tea so why are you drinking parnadol on another mans HeadacheThat's exactly my beef bro! We take panadol on another man's headache.....atleast thats what my brothers did last sunday, which i hate. Londoners did not do that! Ok firstly, they own d club. 2ndly, they brought christianinty and western education to us. Buh they are still conservative abt their celebrations. We are d servants who know more than d master....now u got my beef, right? |
Ok let me tell u how true it is. It has always happened. Fans go to churches for team prayers and thanksgiving. Some churches even go as far as staging a financial offering competition among d main club fans during major ceremonies like Easter, Christmas and harvests. Mancity did not give d churches much money cos their fanbase is low here. U will see fans sponsoring goodwill messages in harvest brochures...I mean, it has been there and is fast turning into a serious religious norm. Troubles me though
|
We have seen various extortions by pastors and priests in various churches but d use of foreign football clubs to grind out more money from happy or expectant fans is so novel and creative one. Today my church was almost blue in colour and when d thanksgiving was announced, Chelsea fans that took over d whole place. They happily and freely gave thanks to God for helping a team based in far away London to win d UCL. The Men of God were grinning from molar to premolar as d donations came. I'm not even talking about reckless celebration that is still going on...leading to loss of lives Do u have a similar experience in ur own church? |
Y not? After raising $16b in a single day for facebook, that guy shud start making children jare |
Greetings are generally wishes not thanksgiving. In dat light "gud mornin" wishes u a gud morning just as "happy new year" prays for u to be happy all thru d new year. So to me...a non-yoruba..."E ku Ijoko" means "Enjoy ur sitting". On a lighter note, Yoruba greetings are just too many. E ku ojo...when d rain d drenches u, e ku oja when found in d market and e ku ja when u are caught fighting. Lots of greetings jare |
espn: Anytime ders a thread dats connected to yorubas or hausas..one fin dats certain is dat igbos here on nairaland wld say sumfin negative abt it..whether its gud or bad..buh if its a thread abt igbos..al dey do is to praise der people..buh u wld neva see any yoruba or hausa to say sumfin bad..u guyz v a big prob..even wen it cums to religious issue..u wld hardly see a yoruba guy or ga who is a xtainl say sumfin abt d opposite religion..buh u can be sure of gettin negative comments frm igbos(xtain)..I guess dis is mere infiriority complex..nonsense!...chei! @espn u can lie oh! May God 4give ur lies abt Yorubas not throwin banters...no bullets...at Igbo and Hausa eff ups. Atleast u can ask @ bluetooth, @ekt-bear, @rhino...even @dayokanu....to mention but a few. I refuse to call it a complex....guess its a naija thing....and sumtimes it brings some humour to d sad minds and smile to d wrinkled faces we carry daily. @topic....I watched Odegbami yesterday. He may b right buh d ex-footballers....including Segun who is now almost a UN/World Bank ambassador 4 just having played football with some education....did not do anything 4 a suffering colleague, a depressed, dieing hero! Now Rashidi is a friend in death....Pathetic! |
1025: @dalover,....and all diz hapnd cos they were all born in PDP....and have PDP blood flowing in dem? As 4 Ndume, recall he was a rep member in ANPP platform up till 2011 election fever...so when did he join BH as u sure know he is a member....b4 or after 2011? Bros I dey respect u b4 o |
U09ce: Chai,d PDP has infiltrated d judiciary.d man waz suspended to forestall a credible judgement at Buhari-GEJ election trials.are u alive or dead? Ur comment implies u must av posted from d underworld where Buhari cud av defeated GEJ in a free contest. Bit if ur still alive, den I make bold to infer n conclude that u slept for one n half yrs...and just woke up to type on NL |
Aigirl: Pls anytin on uniabuja masters? When ar dey selling forms? Or pls help wit d website. Tx alot.which uniabuja? D one in Gwags or another? Pls look 4 a good school that will make ur certificate worth more than d paper it is printed on. D school still has accreditation issues in 4 main faculties for undergraduate courses and u want to buy a form for post-grad....to study what? Dats my opinion tho. As for d website...pls learn to use google.com. It helps a lot. |
.... |
Thanks Yemmy...me self don tire...frm one failed promise to another. It's not easy to market diz things to certain people...no mata how close. They seldom understand what it is. |
Can you tell me what they demanded from you financially?

Can you tell me what they demanded from you financially?
If I were sure to sponsor myself, then I would have to send a mail to a lady who does the financial calculation, opens an account in my name and sends me d deatils for a transfer. As soon as they have the stated amt in 'my account', the school will issue an letter to d embassy on my behalf stating that i have a secured means of livelihood in Belgium and that a type D visa shud b issued. In d event of another person footing d bill, the said sponsor goes to d Belgian embassy in Abuja or d sponsor's country of residence to fillout a Financial Guarantor Form (normally in Dutch). A friend's rough calculation says the guarantor (depending on his/her family size) will have to prove that he/she can spare atleast 700 euros monthly for the student. So invariably, a married man with 2 kids wud have to earn 150 monthly 4 each of his wife and children, 1250 4himself and abt 300 euros 4d stdt. So we are modestly lookin at btw 2k and 3k monthly earning...after tax...4 someone to qualify as a sponsor. Docs needed as proof: one yr bank statement, six months pay slip, one yr tax clearance, cert of inc and memat(4 bizmen), id card |
is true, it means he is not doing badly for our people.
