This debate is capable of distracting any govt more like the US deficit debate is distracting d US govt. This is not just a bill. . .there are loads of interest and everyone wants his/her concerns taken care of b4 supporting d bill. GEJ wil use d time he shud av utilised in delivering d goods to fine tune his points for d single term debate.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Denies Initiating Single-term Plan by Donmeca(m): 2:44pm On Jul 29, 2011
I truly think the time is not right for this administration to start deliberating on d issue of tenure. He has not even started working on his campaign promises and as such has not given us a chance to assess his govt. This debate can easily be presented after his first 2 years as hearing will not last more than a year. This issue is a double-edged sword. . .but GEJ is truly transforming the wrong animal as shown below:

@ Donmeca ^^^^^^^^^^^

Your proposal will see something like this:

OBJ to Iyabo > 8 years > Iyabo  to OBJ > 8 Years> OBJ to Iyabo - ad infinitum
I don't think so broda. . .more like Obj to Iyabo 4 yrs, Iyabo to Tinubu 4yrs, Tinubu to Obj 4 yrs, Obj to Iyabo 4 yrs, iyabo to Tinubu 4 yrs, Tinubu to Atiku/Ekwueme>>>

. . .and pls, it's not ad infinitum. . .there is a max of two tenure.
PoliticsRe: Gej Sends Tenure Elongation Bill: "i Had No Shoes : " by Donmeca(m): 11:58am On Jul 27, 2011
I will support this proposal if it will be passed as a continuation of the current tenure. That is the president and all first term governors should stay on and leave in 2017 while all second term governors will vacate office in 2015. INEC will only conduct elections in these second term states in 2015 and we carry on like that. staggered elections have helped make the system more transparent. I will not support people saying it will take effect in 2015 as it will give undue advantage to some  politicians and may create a constitutional logjam.

Or better still, why can't we learn from the Russians? They run a system that allows a president to come back (and complete his/her tenure) after atleast 4 years of leaving his first official tenure. We can modify ours by allowing them to come back after 8 years (by then Nigerians must av seen the work of two other different presidents/governors), we can then decide to bring the person back or not. U will see people trying to out-perform others in order to have something to campaign with 4 2nd term.
PoliticsRe: Amadioha Banking by Donmeca(m): 7:04pm On Jul 26, 2011
This is funny but i think it's time we got some real feeling of security, no matter how fake. With Amadioha in our subconscious, no biz man will borrow money and refuse to pay as at when due  grin grin. If Norway believed that Amadioha wud avenge d death of his children, Breivik wud not av dared to buy a gun let alone fertilizer. We need to found our morals on some kind of wicked and vengeful god like Amadioha and u'll see GEJ performing for fear of seeing his manhood sweeping Aso Villa one monday morning.

Nigeria is d US of Africa. . .everybody comes in and lives without qualms but even US of America deports illegally migrating Mexicans. I still feel for d Ghanaians as I have a couple of very refined Gh friends here in naija. They may not be d top drivers of naija economy but they have a right to live legally here without fear of molestation.

What I was considering is the extent of recognition a degree from Belgium will afford u after graduation. . .we are not interested in mortgaging 2years of our lives in another man's land without something very good to show for it, do we?

Are u due for Belgium soon?

At least Nigeria can deport. . .but kai not Ghanaians! I expected to hear that we deported Lebanese and Chinese slave employers and tax-evaders not our Ecowas brothers. I'll also be glad to see us depord Nigerien and Chadian terrorists.
PoliticsRe: 5 Reasons Why America Is Worse Than Nigeria by Donmeca(m): 4:44pm On Jul 23, 2011
4. Prices: Things have become very expensive for Americans. Things ranging from household items to entire homes, and combined with the constant devalue of the Naira, the US can be a financial nightmare for Nigerians. An ordinary 4-bedroom, single family house in the US will cost atleast $500,000 which is N83,000,000, More than enough to errect a 10 bedroom mansion with a boys-quarters and a gate in Nigeria. A brand new jeep in the US can easily cost $40,000 which is N6.6 million, more than enough to buy TWO jeeps in Nigeria.
I was compelled to post cos of the above quote. Things are costly everywhere diz days. . .u mentioned devaluation of d naira and it is true! When naira goes down, d prices of all imported products go up cos u import with dollar and euro. When u said the cost housing is cheaper in Nigeria, I believe u meant village states like Ebonyi, Ekikti, Zamfara, Borno, etc (outside the capitals). . .not places like Lagos, Rivers and Abuja. For ur info, a plot of land in Asokro, Maitama, Wuse2 (Abuja) goes for as high as N60 milla. How much is a bag of cement here (so we can calculate what ur balance of 23 milla can do in building d 10 BR mansion)? as for cars, u and I know that naija does not manufacture (nor even assemble) cars. . .don't call PAN and ANAMMCO  cheesy. How did u come about cars being cheaper in naija than yankee? we only buy d ones u guys reject, and the WEALTHY boiz who can afford tear rubber cars (as u said brand new jeep) only order from d same yankee or elsewhere. . .and pay for shipping.

In ur analysis, u did not recall that Nigerians DONOT know their rights, that we lack a working legal system, that we prefer to die in silence than to make trouble with our bosses/employers when they, for no reason sack us from jobs (without adequate settlement). When someone is rushed to d emergency ward of a hospital in Yankee, what wud the doctors first do. . .(a) refuse treatment, (b) ask for 1000 dollars deposit b4 treatment or (c) try to stabilize patient b4 looking for health insurance or cash from d family?

For every reason u gave, I can give u 10 reasons why America is 100 times better than Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Sect Splits by Donmeca(m): 1:15pm On Jul 21, 2011
I said it! d JTF (no mata how) is winning. They shud not be pulled out. As they have broken BH into begging for ceasefire, they shud finish them up and give jitters to some other groups waiting for their turn to grab amnesty. If u allow these peops breathing space, they will make peace among themselves, regroup, get more arms and funds from whomever wherever, plan and execute the deadliest attacks naija is yet to see. GEJ will win this war
PoliticsRe: Abia: We Can’t Pay New Wage by Donmeca(m): 1:04pm On Jul 21, 2011
He can't pay? and he was busy sharing money to his security details that led to this week's shootout in d govt house? He's got to be kidding! Aba alone can pay workers salary for him. . .either he still wants to steal and share the his state money or he simply lacks d initiative to generate revenue.

While Aregbesola is running a one-man show, Rochas is running an "all-inclusive" govt. . .sharing d money among every Imo family (work or no work). Both are bad! Sole administration in Osun and Chop-I-Chop admin in Imo. . .appalling even though both of them seem to be performing. I guess they just know how to be in d news. cool

A word for Owelle, orga, u can NEVER please everybody, no mata how u try!!! Quit dis compensation game. . .u still hav 2nd tenure to go 4 ooo

PoliticsRe: The Role Of Churches In Nigerian Politics by Donmeca(m): 5:32pm On Jul 14, 2011
D Nigerian society is fraught with indecisive leadership. . .religious, political, academic and so on. They are all d same. . .indecisive! when pastor/priest criticizes a govt, he is linked with d opposition and accused of "dragging d Body of Christ into the murky waters of politics". D politicians go as far as seeking his transfer or outright dismissal (if the superiors are interested in more govt favors). The war btw Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka of Cath Diocese of Enugu and then gov Chimaraoke Nnamani is an example. The Bishop then was giving the outspoken priest tough time cos no one wanted the Church to be at war with the govt. The recent rant of Yinka Odumakin against the person of Pastor Oritsajiefor is another quick reminder. They dare no talk, if they do, they are corrupting the Church! I guess that was y Bakare came out to become VP. . .he was tired of being reminded of his shepherd status.
CrimeRe: Woman With 7 Babies born in 12 months Charged with Child Trafficking by Donmeca(m): 4:57pm On Jul 14, 2011
Seven children in about four deliveries within one year is fraud! D Igbo society shud stop stigmatizing single parentage in women. Most of these babies must be products of unwanted pregnancies by young girls. These girls, due to d fear of stigma wud flee home as soon as they miss their periods. They end up in some sort of quack prayer houses where they are "taken care of  and done a great favour of keeping their babies".  Rural parents shud teach their teen daughters about sexuality and pregnancy and be by them in all circumstances even if it means being "sacked" from the holy almighty churches.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Targets Aso Rock And Wants JTF Withdrawn by Donmeca(m): 4:38pm On Jul 14, 2011
The military seem to have scored some point against BH. They want to use the removal of the JTF to regroup, plot and execute more attacks. The govt shud to give in to their demands even if they promise permanent ceasefire and ultimate surrender of arms. These guys are already afraid of the JTF, they have been badly bruised and need some kind of breathing space to regenerate. This is the time to crush them! A wounded snake bites with double venom. . .
PropertiesRe: Has The Flood From Sunday's Rain Changed Your Mind About Where To Live In Lagos? by Donmeca(m): 6:13pm On Jul 12, 2011
Lagos flood. . .it comes yearly, destroys property, kills humans. . . .d govt consoles d victims, laments poor drainage system and promises better one soon. . .after d flood, everyone goes back home (govt house) to wait for the next round of flooding, destruction of property, loss of lives, lamentations and promises, That's what I call d African Cycle!

When they fail, they tell us they are going back to d drawing board. . .dat board no dey full? I guess there shud be no space left to draw on d board.

PoliticsRe: Okonjo-iweala Gets Threat Calls by Donmeca(m): 1:34pm On Jul 08, 2011
If every other person GEJ's cabinet (including GEJ) is corrupt and Ngozi seems to be d only exception, i dare say she cannot do anything to move Nigeria forward. . . A tree can never make a forest. But if she can still find some like-minds, then she shud vome and help build this nation. Nigeria is now or Never!

I don't agree totally with Alex but I won't blame him so much. there is sense in every nonesense!

Good appointment if it pulls tru. I'm afraid though that some people may see this as an opportunity to dimnish her larger-than-life image. they may want to show her that this is Africa where a woman's education and achievement ends in d kitchen. I doubt if OBJ ever 4gives or 4gets but God will protect her and guide on the side of the masses.
