Sleep Ko. . . paralysis ni.

There are some who experienced such and never woke up.
Then doctors will call it cardiac arrest.
Continue to allow satan and his demons harass you.

When the body is not put under subjection to the Word of God, it can be oppressed by satan or devils.
That is when  your flesh has the dominion over your spirit.
The Word of God is in your spirit and it should grow and build your spirit man until your spirit has the dominion whereby your flesh is put under subjection.
As such, you do not let your body say, do, eat or go wherever it likes. . . you take control from your spirit through God's Word.

When a man is asleep, his body is tired and goes to sleep but his spirit never sleeps.
The spirit stays awake and is alert. . . capable of perceiving any approaching evil.
However, if your body has not been put in subjection to your spirit, you will not be able to get your body to pray or even call the name J E S U S.

The solution:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Train your spirit in God's Word- Col 3:16.
Pray always in the spirit- speaking in other tongues will help in building up your spirit (Eph 6:18; Jude 1:20)
Food › Re: Calabar Food Is Overhyped! by donnie(m): 10:12pm On Aug 01, 2011
Cuddlemii:
@op

Are you sure you didn't write this post of yours when you were drunk.

Calabar/Akwa-Ibom has the highest number of soups. The women there are exceptionally good in cooking. They are brought up to cater for a man needs. That's why most mistresses are Calabars because most women from other tribes don't know how to cook. Its just instilled in the women from Calabar.

When I was in school, when I am frying just mere onions, all those Yoruba chicks would bring paper and biro to learn what I am cooking. I was even nicknamed Calabar kitchen and I was just experimenting with Electric Kettle, Stainless plate & Pressing iron so you can imagine if it was home cooking, the babes would jump down a 3 storey building.

I even think Calabar food is under-rated, do you know how many tribes cook our meals? How many restaurants abroad sell our meals? How many married men in Nigeria that go to Calabar kitchens outside their homes to eat irrespective of the price tag of the Calabar food? Why do most housemaids come from there, thats why lazy housewives from other tribes can leave the home cooking to those maids.

Calabar women hardly loose their husbands and If they do, they re-marry asap because Calabar women are blessed & down to earth. Some of our mouth watering delicacies are Afia Efere (white soup), Atama (Palm Kernel soup), Ottong (A sophisticated Ogbono soup), Afang, Edi kia kong, The Ekpan u mentioned is made from Cocoa yam, we have Efere Etigi (Our own okro soup and not that watery stuff other tribes serve) and a lot of others. I purposely did not add them Egusi, Ewedu, stew, yam porridge etc, Those are common foods that all tribes claim as theirs. I gave you a list ours, made discovered and created by Calabar people.

Give a Calabar babe or guy dry pepper, salt, water, tomato puree & Garri. As ridiculous & impossible as it may sound, you would be amazed by how he or she would cleverly manage those items and make it a blockbuster meal that your neighbors would suddenly become friendly.

Don't mess with us oh. Even a Calabar babe's walking step is enough food. They hardly get dumped except they are tired of the men, men eat from their palms. They have the secret recipes. Other tribes do jazz & rituals, we use good food & romance to keep our men. Even their eyes can kill, they are not lazy people but hardworking cooks.

I can go on & on but people already know more than enough about Calabar food and their people.

So op whenever u are less busy, I can take you to Calabar because its obvious u were dropped at Aba or Onitsha, people sleep off in all those Young shall grow buses especially attachments where u have to sit on a stool in the middle of the buses, u must have missed the sign board of the name of the state. We would go by air so that you would be awake & fit through out your visit to Calabar

4. The “hundredfold return” is not a biblical concept. Hagin did the math and figured out that if this bizarre notion were true, “we would have Christians walking around with not billions or trillions of dollars, but quadrillions of dollars!”
I see you are comfortable quoting a prosperity preacher verbatim as long as it suits suits your purpose. Well, as much as I respect Rev Hagin and acknowledge the hand of God that was upon him mightily, making him a great servant and apostle of Jesus Christ to this generation, I will stick with what the word says, irrespective people's experiences.

Mark 4:20
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Mark 10:29-30
And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, [30] But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Whose report will you believe. . . Jesus Christ or Kenneth Hagin?

The word persecutions (in bold above) should tell you that I am ready to face the venom of those who are without truth. . . It will amount to nothing. . . No b today, Oya. . .

I used to love reading your posts. All those your fantastic illustrations of biblical truths such as, personal salvation, the Lordship of Jesus, christian living, End times and so on.

These days I dont know what to think anymore. It is like you are becoming bored with being an inspiration and a positive influence.

You now crave to belong in the class of Kunleosob, nuclearboy etc who are neither here nor there.
If you investigate, you'll find that they are not grounded in the truth. They do not belong to any church. . . neither are they submitted to any pastor or spiritual authority. They do not know the Lord.

Do not be carried away by their error. Remember your first love, Continue the good work that you are doing and shun carnality.

Christianity Etc › Re: When Did The Apostles Become Born Again? by donnie(op): 3:25pm On May 08, 2011
OLAADEGBU:
I believe that I have stated that the new birth experience is different from the sanctification experience that Jesus prayed for unless you don't take cognisance of what other posters have said.
The Word of God was and still is a cleansing agent, necessary for the instantaneous (at new birth- 1Pet 1:23, Eph 5:25-26, Titus 3:5) and continuous (by the Holy Spirit 1Thes 5:23, 2Cor 3:18) sanctification of the church in preparation for His appearing.

OLAADEGBU:
It is an heretical teaching that Jesus had to be born again.  Why should He be born again, is it because He was a sinner?
It is heretical to teach otherwise.
Nobody said he was a sinner. He was born without sin and never sinned.
However, He was made sin for us. There is a whole world of difference between being a sinner and being made sin.

2 Cor. 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Col. 1:18
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Question:1.  When did He die? 2. When was he born?

Psalm 2:7
I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Acts 13:33
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Jesus was the first to be born from among the dead, and we came right after Him.
All the saints of old waited for this same  Jesus- the perfecter of their salvation. And when He arose, they arose with Him, glory!

Hebrews 11:39-40
And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: [40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Hebrews 12:23
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

I pray the Lord open your eyes.

OLAADEGBU:
Jesus put off His Omniscience before He stepped into time and had to learn by experience as a man.  It did not mean that He sinned or was not perfect spiritually.  Physically He was weak as all men.
Jesus is king of kings and Lord of Lords. He is the mighty man  in battle; The Lord of Glory. He is cool and doesn't need your help. You cant take away His glory from Him even if your try.  cool.

OLAADEGBU:
Now that you have confirmed why you don't take the Words of Jesus Christ in His earthly ministry to mean anything, why should I waste my time and effort trying to convince you?  I leave you with this article and hope you will learn a thing or two from it.

John 16:12-14
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. [13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

During Jesus' earthly ministry, as much as His words were heavenly you must understand that those with whom he spoke and related with were sense-ruled men. They were not born again because it wasn't possible to be born again. His blood had not been shed, Jesus was not yet glorified and the Spirit had not been sent.

The Spirit of truth has now come and some of those who first received Him (Peter James, John, Paul) have written and we believe those great Words and you are offended. . . Why? Are you trying to get us to believe that the scriptures contradict itself? Its by the same Spirit my brother. Rather than quarrel, get understanding.

2 Tim. 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

He had a great influence on Pst Chris- The apostolic grace/mantle. . . its evident.

Did Pst Kumuyi tell you how he got  that accent (during his days as a lecturer)?

He certainly wasn't born with it. I mean, the way he prays (In Jeeesus naaame we praaaaay!!). . . Is that how a typical Yoruba man will pray?

I heard pastor Chris was known to walk around with earphones in his ears during his school years. He listened to messages of TL Osborne, Kenneth Haggin, RW Shamback, Oral Roberts and few others for several years. Having known this, why would I be surprised about his accent?

The same reason why most Deeper life pastors sound like Pst Kumuyi, HOTR pastors like Pst. Adefarasin etc.

I feel for Joagbaje,

I know its because of the possibility of threads like these to mislead and destroy the faith of some that he is responding to these people.
He is obviously not on their level: judging from knowledge of scriptures or the spiritual understanding he exhibits.

I personally haven't  brought anyone to this religion section since 2005. It hardly is edifying to me.
Some on this forum think it is a contest of opinions or an opinion poll. I laugh.

We can overrun this religion section if we choose to. Only one PCF in church can do the job. But we are led of the Spirit and the love of Christ constrains us.
