I'm from Edo North and can authoritatively tell you that the total votes cast in Edo North for the Senate was just 186,000 while the winner (APC Alimikhena) had 83,000 votes. That means Buhari's votes there would be something around 100K, he would also have upto 40 in Edo Central and 70 in Edo South. So we all tried and all should be commended.

@OP, shut up. I guess Amaechi, Tinubu, Oshiomole, Sylva and Oyegun asked Pally Iriase to step down for Gbajagbiamila? When it was obvious that he wouldn't win him, he had to step down for him. BTW, why are you so concerned about Edo? I thought prior to the Election you said PDP would win all the National Assembly seats in Edo! If they had truly won as you said, would Pally Iriase have had the chance to even be a member of the 8th House let alone contesting for Speaker? Abeg shove your caring attitude joor!!

So who is to blame for that?

Get your facts right sir. He was initially with Saraki but when the Party nominated Lawan, he switched his allegiance to Lawan. I'm sure he was even among the Senators who voted Lawan. He was also at the ICC when Saraki was 'imposed' on the Senate as their President. Try to visit his Facebook wall constantly to see where his allegiance lies!

All PDP members voted for the speaker and 30 APC rep which about 21 is from the NE

Almost 43 APC members voted Dogara, not 30. PDP has only 139 members in the house while Dogara secured 182 votes.

If Atiku could represent the Presidency on two occasions in South Africa before and after the AfDB election and the Senate President visited him at first, then something should tell you that the Presidency knows about all these. I hate it when people say the Northerners are more united when it comes to this aspect. If the Northerners wanted to select a concensus candidate for the post of the Senate President, it definitely wouldn't be Saraki. Is Saraki more 'northern' than Lawan?

Ndume was the foool here sorry to say and Dino malaye is nothing but a barefaced liar. My reaction on reading his statement was one of utter disgust. I mean, Ekweremadu polled 54 votes against Ndume's 20 and PDP has just 49 senators, which means the extra 5 votes could only have come from the APC. Coming out to tell this lie is another slap on the party.

APC leadership needs to sit these rebels down and demand an open confession from them on what they bargained with the PDP, cause I see PDP holding more juicy positions in the house.

I just pray the Court should act fast on this. Under Saraki, people like Stealer Oduah would be made the Chairperson Senate Committee on Aviation. Tufiakwa!!!
