I'm just being frustrated, the cut-off mark seem infeasible. I've not seen a single person that met the requirements, most I've seen used human influence. Someone with 53%, and her name came out. I've seen some on nairaland with 290+ last year, they got nothing. The admission process to me is not very transparent, if anything; it only favours the predites. What's the essence of hard work with nothing to show?.

I totally get where you're coming from and I can't fault you for adapting(trying to adapt) to the crooked system we've got. I pray it works out

@bolded... That doesn't sound like you tho. I expected tenacity and zeal to overcome all odds but that just sound like you calling it quit.

First semester....

We were what one if my coursemate called Scalars. Lotta magnitude, zero direction. Finding lecture halls and adjusting to the timetable was hard. Then there was the meeting and knowing over a hundred coursemates. Wasn't such an easy task.

I remember the "Jesus, are we to finish all this?" moment when we got our textbooks. That's how guys started jacking like crazy. Ah swear med students can be too serious. The phy, Chem and bio was much of what we already knew. The zoology and GSTs were the larger burdens, especially zoology. I've never had to memorize so much taxonomy in my life... Super, sub and infra classes, for only the class taxon.

About the routine-cycle stuff. Seriously, school is boring. All you do all day is, wake up, shout "Jesus I'm late!", rush down to school to meet an already filled class. Stand and sweat for two hours. Rush down to another filled hall, sweat some more. Hit the library if you've got the time, head home, find chow, sleep then Repeat.

There were funny moments tho, some lecturers are just comedians with a certificate. Matric day was also a thrill. Last last, I'm just glad its over.

hmm .. uniport has no officialpost ume past question..
the nature of post utme is just like expect any questions from ur 5science subjects.. ur question is gonna be different from the person next to u.. just the way jamb is ..u get..
we find out that uniport has question bank in there system not set by them but filled with jamb past question from all those 1990somthing till date. u understand.
thus the issue of past question ..wen u come to school environment u ll definitely see all those TOUT guys advertising hardcopies upandan.. na lie tryna siphon money from novice all in the name of helping/direct aspirant. they only select some jamb past question and pile it up .. in fact i can decide to select 50 question from diff spaced years and make it look like official one with uniport logo as back cover. na SCAM..
uniport P. UME is jamb past question which i tink u already have.. practice them from 1990 till date..
u only need to add mathematic past question.
the bad side in those days of post ume was that u may score high in jamb than ur fellow and ur fellow with low score may just luckily meet question in biology and chemistry with little physic.. while u with high jamb score may be bombarded with physic math chem and little eng bio.. seriously the guy with the simplest question may do well than u.. worst is uniport dont consider ur high jamb score that time o .. they ll just admit those with high score in P.ume ..
their beliv is if u wana be admitted u should be able to be an all round guru regardless of the question ure faced..
infact i have a guy with 283 in jamb but got 192 in P. ume.. he was just lucky he scored high in basic program which gave him MBBS. while some with just 220 will cram jamb past question from start to end and will see them life and eventually get up to 292 -300.. surely he ll be admitted.. they are like their own exam is the final...
thats for then.. cant say the new method they wana use now. but i think it will still be like the old method sha..
as for basic question .. basic is cool but for thosei that can control themselves and pursue what they want with good focus..(no side distraction) .
cant say of now o but the basic i did.. 28 was admitted and am 99% sure it was strictly on merit.. some student might be so dull in sec school due to locality but they prove there hunger for MBBS since no was only what was taught during d program and they made it ..they come to basic and read like craze man ( i know wat am talking about. some read like beast and got wat they wanted.) since no magomago for basic..

Yes it is. Just learn to solve without a calc, read like crazy and you would turn out just fine.

Post utme isn't quite hard. The English, chemistry and Biology would be a walk over for any serious student. The major bottleneck for me was the physics and math part. The questions are pretty basic, stuffs you would know(if you are good at math and physics).
However, without a calculator, things get a little messy.

my simple advice to anyone writing post utme is, revise your books and focus on learning to solve without a calculator. it's as simple as that.

Nature of post utme in general? Well its CBT, 50 questions, randomly selected from the five subjects you would be writing, 30 minutes to answer all and you get to see your score immediately.

Nice utme score, you'd simply need to compliment it with a good post utme score(270+)

I gotta say that it is a sad turn out of events. i expected to celebrate u as u did me, but never d less, i believe tins happen 4 a reason... i could nt research abt oau transfers due to d above mentiond but its just wat chukwukapromise has said with a little variatn. you should inquire into specifics tho 4rm pharm students who were successful... with utme reg ending in 2wks and d exam in a month, throwin an admisn away is way too risky. i would advise u hold on to chem and still reg 4 utme... i expect u'd hold strong and see this as a platform to a greater height nt a setbck, that u'd smash their exams nd show dem who's boss. i'm really hoping tins work out 4 u pal.

I'm just 20yrs old and I applied ABU Zaria for an admission to study MBBS and the Admission list is out since one month ago but unluckily I was given medical radiography moreover radiography is a new department in Abu Zaria. my aim in life is to become a medical doctor which is a dream since childhood. so I don't really know what to do I.e if I should go for the course or not or prepare for jamb next year. the worst thing is that I've never heard of the course even once in life and I don't know how marketable it is here in Nigeria and abroad. I think you should start by opening a thread asking for Nigerian radiographers to give you first hand experience on the career. With this you can critically examine the pros and cons of the course.

After that, you either like the course or the hate it. The next hurdle would be to decide whether or not you should let the course go. I would usually advice you carry both along so you don't end up losing on both ends in the event that things don't work out but with Dr.ISISs' success story, sometimes taking the risk is the best thing you can do. Take some time and think about it. There are no right choices as we can't foretell what the future holds. Goodluck pal and a Happy New Year to you
