Everybody should calm down abeg.

There's no point to this ruckus, afterall when the pandemic hit, neither doctors, nurses, MLS, radiograhers etc in this country could do shit.

Maybe instead of arguing and ending up not making sense, we all should put our ego into getting better as healthcare practitioners.
Its disappointing seeing people who still won't be able to do sh!t when the next pandemic hit argue about which course is and isn't supreme.

I'd expect the discussion here right now to be about how the mRNA vaccine works and possible side effects but this is Nigeria, only stupid discussions/arguments can be found even amongst scholars

hello medics in the house. I'm rigorously preparing for 2021 UTME which might kickstart anytime soon. I need advice from you all. method of preparation, relevant books to prepare with. thanks. I'm aiming to get atleast 330 this year. your advice here will go a long way to help me through. thanks in advance.
Someone asked this same question a couple days ago, going back one or 2 pages should give you a lot of answers.

Good luck bro!

Medicine has and would never be an option for me. I see it as stressing oneself.
The advice I gave might not be for you, but someone would key into it. I know what I'm saying.

I've said my own. You will understand years to come.
Medicine isn't the only course. Especially those of you with low self esteem thinking medicine will help you overcome it.
The depression medical students go into, the regrets some medical doctors have etc.
I'm saying think carefully, be real and think so you don't see you have been chasing shadows all along.
Lol... I have spare time so I'll reply this too

Although you're entitled to give advice to whomever you want to, however it becomes misplaced and a nuisance when nobody asked for it.

Also, any medical student in recent times who isn't aware of the travails of med school with all the enlightenment around, has him or herself to blame. It's been resounded over and over that med school is hard and draining. I'm sure everyone of us knows it by now

Finally, regrets?.... LMAO. Is there any choice that doesn't come with a possibility of regrets? Is there any course where students are all fulfilled after studying it?
You make it seem like regrets as a doctor are the only kind in the world.
People regret studying other courses more often than doctors do for studying medicine. So that statement makes no sense.
Also, can you guarantee I won't regret not studying medicine?

I'm gonna add that I don't get why you're so bothered about other people's depression, regrets, low self-esteem.... Makes me think you're either depressed, having regrets or your self-esteem is low.

Here's my advice to you, as appreciation for the numerous advices you've been dropping; Stop. Stop spending your time obsessing about medical students and doctors, they aren't worth shit. They don't have their life set. Their dreams won't be fulfilled just because they're doctors. You can do better at whatever you're doing. And if what you're doing isn't fulfilling enough, Stop!. Stop whatever you're doing and pick a UTME form, read like hell and get into medicine.
You gain absolutely nothing trolling the students here, they don't care, I don't, I find it amusing and could have ignored it easily. I'm here wondering why you care so much about our problems, you can't be that benevolent with your time.
It's sad seeing you make up assumptions just to discourage future aspirants. Seriously, get your act together, you're better than this.

Many of you are wasting your time and life running after medicine. There's more to life than medicine. Are you really called to be one? Are you really passionate? Or u just want the prestige or glamour that comes with being called a Dr. Better get real and find something doing
Is anyone really called to be anything?
What's passion, seriously, what's passion?
When has wanting prestige and glamour become a crime?
How is it wasting one's life? people study course they don't like and can't use in the real world, what would you call that?

Finally, don't you think you're wasting your life and time worrying about other people's decision? undecided..... Take your own advice, "get real and find something doing"

Frontend or backend?

Anyway, unless those companies have products that run in these themes and plugins, I doubt they'd consider such developer

A startup wouldn't consider this, neither would a banking firm, or even a ecommerce company

Which company would actually employ a developer for knowing how to build themes and plugins?

Thank you so much for the guideline I really appreciate your comment, with a sincere mind I don't know how to start to where to start the only things I know is HTML and a bit of CSS. I will really appreciate it if you can elaborate a easy journey or guideline for me to achieve my goal with ur experience in the field

One of the first things a developer must learn to how to use search engines and I don't mean any harm by this but trust me you'll be alone with your bug more often than not. You have to learn to navigate on your own

#Theres no easy journey here.

*Learn JavaScript (it's easier as you won't need to setup IDEs and environments)
You can use MDN and W3schools

When you've learnt most of it, you can then Google what native and hybrid apps are and chose which you're going with.

Learning another language is easy or you can just continue with what you've learnt and use React native.

I understand you're asking for strict directions but you must learn to gather information and make informed decisions yourself, it's part of the process.

Goodluck

You would have just barely understood programming at the end of that 8 weeks and whichever path of app development you choose(Native or Hybrid), it'll still take you months to get functioning apps out.

where to start? Basics of programming... you don't need web development

Choose either Java, JavaScript or Dart. When you've learnt any of them, you can easily switch to the other and pick the development path of your choice

There's no way you'll be able to be an app development in 10 weeks unless you're a genius

It begs the question that someone will score 90% in JAMB and will be unable to score at least 60% in o level that has 2 sittings.
Both are very different exams. I have only 2As in my O'level result, one could infer from that that I am not a good student but my CGPA would say otherwise.

The O'levels have never been a standardized exam, it's a terrible choice to base admission on its grades.
The performance of the u2016 class even further supports this.

If I understood correctly, you need pointers on integrating a CRUD for an ecommerce app?

Why not watch a tutorial on youtube on how to use ecommerce rest apis, REST calls such as these are easy, one hour on youtube and you'd have gotten all you need.

seriously this is something you can do easily on your own.

Great medics in the house I greet you all, happy new year.. please I need your advice, am 25 years old, I will be enrolling for jamb this year, aspirant of mbbs though..I need guidelines on how to score very high in utme/ post utme pls help me out, am willing and ready to pay the price no matter how Herculean the task maybe.. I have even devise my personal time table for intense studying, 18hrs per day.. All I need is guidelines from experienced persons to put me through, your encouragement is also needed because I have had terrible discouragements from my peers.. Family issues made me waste years at home, my father was suffering from stroke it affected my education so bad, plus other factors that I wouldn't like to disclose, help a brother, God bless you all...
Its a herculean task you've decided to embark on and trust me you'll need to define "why" you're doing it and make sure its good enough so when obstacles both financial and academic arise, you'll always have something to keep you going

Guidelines:
I don't think there's a defined way to getting into medicine but definitely study time as high as 18 hours just ain't enough,
I don't know what the recent flavour of textbooks is now as its been 4 years since I studied for UTME but you'll need standard textbooks which the current 100L should know about.
I used: Modern Biology, Senior secondary physics, Ababio chem and (Dictionary + stress rules) for english(it was my lowest score)

Past questions are very important, too important even. Don't cram them, use them to test your knowledge and how questions can be twisted. Since you are devoting 18hrs, try to solve every single one of them more than once. I had this rule where after reading a topic I find PQs from the last 10 years on that topic and answer them, if I score below 80%, I read the topic again. Just my rule.

Exam skills:
- Time management,
- Shortcuts for solving calculations
- Speed
- Accuracy

In summary, read your textbooks from start till finish at least 3 times, solve as much past questions till you're hitting 80% in every year in every subject and prepare for the exam with the mindset that each question failed automatically increases your chances of coming back next year

#N.B: Hope your O'Levels are good(As and Bs).... My schools just used screening instead of post utme. You don't want to be caught unawares.

Encouragement?
I find it weird you'll be asking for encouragement and not sincere opinions. Seems you've already decided, your reason for deciding should be enough encouragement

but I'll chip by saying....

There's harm in trying. The 6 years + x years spent doing this can be spent mastering a trade, building a company, getting another degree+service+1 year work experience. So yes it is a huge risk especially with your age

The question is, will you regret not having taken this step some years from now?
The answer is left for the person regretting or not regretting to decide but my sincere opinion? Medicine will always be a great choice... but that's me

Good luck!

We've given a group of thinking adults 10 whole months and they keep going back and forth the same issue.

Lately, the last meeting was in November, 2 future meetings were cancelled without any explanation. Like our education is a joke to them.

Hello guys,

my PC refuses to charge past 79%, I've left it charging for hours and it refuses to bulge.

Did some googling and according to HP forums and their diagnostics software, I need to calibrate it. The steps for calibration requires that I charge to 99-100, completely discharge and recharge till 99-100

The problem now is that how can I calibrate it when it refuses to fully charge?

Hello guys. Do u guys think it's too late at 22 to go for mbbs. I intend on getting in via direct entry, so instead of the 6 years it would b 5years. I am a graduate with good grades from a life sciences department. But the situation of the country is also making me afraid(ASUU and co). Do u guys think it's worth it. My parents are willing to fund me Gods willing. I have always dreamt of getting an mbbs degree.
I don't know which courses are under life sciences, but I know most universities prefer those from basic health sciences, hence I would advise the UTME route if you don't want to end up wasting a year at home chasing D.E... Not sure if there are rules against D.E and UTME simultaneously but if there aren't, do take on both to be safe

As regards the age, I would say you're even too young to be asking this question. I know coursemates who stayed at home writing jamb till they were 20-23, and they started in year 1, that's aside the coursemates who are above 25 and some in their 30s. Trust you'll always meet those way older than you are in med school and also those who got it just after their 16th birthday. I'm saying, forget age here especially if you're as young as you are.

You should be less bothered about the strikes, for all we know, this could the last one for a long time or one of many, its impossible to plan around this things. The only choice is going to a private or foreign university, if you can't afford that then you just have to live with the strikes

Like someone once said, whether or not you take action now, you'll grow older anyway, its better you do that chasing your dream.

Good luck in your journey

Nice insights

but I don't think developing for those niches would be easy for a new developer who can't navigate documentations written for experienced developers

Most of the newbies rely on videos and books and apps like sololearn that basically spoon-feeds them programming. Throw them into python's documentation alone and see them abandon programming.

Also a newbie developer without a job/gigs to pay bills, spending months or even years developing for a specify niche whose payout isn't sure is terrible advice in my opinion. The whole niche-ing down is something only an experienced developer can do

Programming / Re: Should One Learn Programming For The Sole Aim Of Making Money? by Donpre(m): 12:36pm On Dec 09, 2020
Do it for whatever reason you want to do. It doesn't matter

For money?

For passion?

its all the same to many-faced god

However it isn't a get-rich-quick scheme. Its hard work, lots of hard work, studying, tutorials, documentation, experimenting... some times your code just don't work and you don't know why, very frustrating.
Its not an easy road and before you start getting paid, it'll take months, if not up to a year as competition is steadily rising.
In fact if you're not good enough to impress people with your work, you won't ever get paid.

Aside all the pessimism above, it is very rewarding.
