DrOptimistic: If you don't mind, why will you go for UI and not Unilag? Because I used to hear about UI Post Utme and if perhaps one doesn't meet his course cut off mark, they won't give him any other course. Are you in UI? Don't mind my too much questions. I already said it in my first reply Both schools are equally good and equally competitive...... I'd pick UI, just for the name it has when medicine is mentioned in Nigeria you shouldn't apply for medicine with the thought that you might not meet the cutoff and would be given another course. That's a bad start. If you can't get into UI then you stand no chance against Unilag. You need the same level of brilliance to get into both schools. I'm in Uniport by the way |

DrOptimistic: I'm from Ogun State which I believe should be among the catchment areas of Unilag and I don't think UI use catchment area of a thing in giving admission. Considering the admission process rigorousity, easy to get admission and other factors of both schools, which will you go for? UI |

DrOptimistic: Pls medics in the house. I need your opinions and advice on this matter. I am planning on choosing medicine and surgery in jamb next year but I don't know which medical school to choose between UI and Unilag. Though both are good but I need your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance. Both school are equally good and equally competitive. Your choice should be influenced by whichever has your state as catchment. if neither does, then I'd pick UI, just for the name it has when medicine is mentioned in Nigeria. Good luck in your exams |

Consider choosing a less competitive school.... with an average of 280 you would easily merit Uniuyo, Unical, most northern federal universities, all state universities |

dkstvv: Just putting the records straight. Asides theory, many are lacking practically. Not a fault of the students, but fault of the system. When no machines to work with, you improvise and endager patients lives. Many consultants would tell u not to take them to a teaching hospital if they fall sick. I have to agree with you that the system is flawed and grossly mismanaged, but calling them 'death traps' is way too extreme a description. Makes it seems like no one come out of there alive. But then, my actual reason for replying your post was the "especially UPTH" could you explain that? |

Neybrasilan1: Bro, u're just like my biggest inspiration, i had to spend a whole night going tru every of your comments here on NL(sorry about that), ur consistency and doggedness really moved me to try medicine just one more time after two previously failed attempts.. I learnt u moved from NDU to uniport to uniport again before u got what you wanted...i really wanted to score exactly what you scored last year 320 and 280 jamb and post ume respectively.. I was really sad when i couldn't meet your jamb score, but Thank God i successfully leap frog ur post utme score with just a couple of marks(lol, but nah u still get am for aggregate)..
I don comot my mind from merit list, i just hope 2nd or 3rd list favour me. I feel honoured to have inspired you. Well since the boss is impressed by your scores, lemme officially welcome you to uniport medical school. Find me when you get to college hall. |

Neybrasilan1: Good evening mr otokx, and fellow medical personality that has passed through this group, donpre, Blm, sarsay and the rest of u guys.
Pls am a Lil bit nervous, i heard medicine cut off mark is always above 300+ aggregate, for uniport, though i don't know how valid this information is, that why i'll like to ask pls with the following results
Jamb:288
Post jamb:288
Aggregate :288
Medicine and surgery from anambra, pls is it likely dat i'll mk merit list or probably subsequent list?
Am sorry am asking such a Lil bit too early, pls forgive me abeg, i just want to know my next step, if i should go ahead and take my 2nd choice post utme form.. Pls any answers will be appreciated. It depends on the general performance of the candidates that wrote this year. 288 is a good enough score, just chill and pray. |

Good day comrade otokx, is the bolded a recent addition to the putme system? Didn't see any when I wrote last year. |
