I learnt about you when I was reading through the thread, you are an inspiration.
oh! I see. Well Uniport is a nice school and the strike go reach everybody las las except some states schools and private universities, so its best you learn to embrace it.

There are times you would pray and hope for the strike and it would come save you. Don't worry, you'll understand later

Also, not sure what about me is inspiring but I do hope your application is successful

Programming / Re: How To Add To Cart by Donpre(m): 6:53pm On Jun 17, 2021
You can simply search how to do that on google and get many different implementation from stackoverflow

The basic idea is create an array called cart, and add or remove products from it. You might need to persist the cart, then the implementation for that would depend on which backend you're using, and if its using sessions or RESTAPI.

Either way, since you didn't provide any context, simply google your problem, hopefully you'll find better answers

Programming / What Is The Best Approach To Monetization For The Nigerian Market? by Donpre(m): 8:24pm On Mar 26, 2021
This is an open question to developers and the general public

What do you think is a better monetization model for the Nigerian society considering the economic challenges.

I understand that a lot depends on the demographics and other factors but generally, what would you go for?

1. A low-cost monthly subscription model

2. A one-time payment model

3. Advertisement(Free)

Interesting discuss anticipated. I feel I am underestimate the purchasing power of Nigerians but I might be wrong

I've downloaded the freecodecamp javascript video, tho it's 3hrs long, I'm still in one hour
I put the video at the end but how he ended it didn't seem like he did some projects or is that just one of the videos?
there's no way you'll learn everything from one 3hrs video

take the parts he taught and build projects yourself or just watch another video on a project

For some reason people run away from official documentations which are pretty good especially for recent frameworks and well established ones

This is the best place to start is https://developer.android.com/

Java or Kotlin? I'll leave that to experienced devs

smaller gigs sure, underpaying jobs? Not necessarily. The difference between upwork and fiverr is that on upwork most clients ( if they have the money) wants to pay more for who can do the job best. So you don't really need to low ball yourself.
Thanks

Good morning guys, for landing first gigs, would you advise taking on smaller, underpaying jobs to build a profile and JSS score?

Programming / Re: Which Guarantees Higher Returns Website Or App? by Donpre(m): 8:23pm On Feb 14, 2021
Depends on what your business is.

I would say a website as it can be reached across multiple devices and operating system. You would only have to maintain one code base unlike apps that would need maintenance across multiple platforms.

You could plan ahead and build your website on REST APIs, that way half the work for the app if you ever come back to do that would be done already.

I believe that since they introduced 'paid connect' system, it has been easier to get account approved and yes i uploaded a valid ID, you will be asked to also, this will most likely be after you get your first job ( you will be asked to do video verification too), uploading ID and video verification is for 'verification' of account not 'approval' of account. Your account has already been approved
thanks.... I was quite confused for a while.

qtguru:

Yes they have relaxed the rejection rate. Next week I will drop some proposals and tips, however this is what also works, look for a category that makes sense, do a working example and add to your portfolio. They look at it alot.
would be expecting this and whatever codeoboy95 has to add.

its one thing to be accepted and another to land a gig

since you are able to apply to jobs, your profile has been accepted

Okay, i'm still in disbelief though. It should be harder according to popular opinion.

Did you have to verify anything with a valid ID or something official. I haven't yet, and its fueling my disbelief
