DonJ7: Retake jamb... I hear stories of switching from BDS to MBBS but that's all they are, stories. In my school especially, it has never happened to the best of my knowledge. if you really don't like dentistry, enroll for jamb next year and slug it out for medicine. Good luck! 5 Likes |

Personal opinion: Try redesigning the UI to be more attractive. To your question... How exactly are you selling it to potential customers? Does it help them check which product is in stock and out of stock or does it have an anti-theft mechanism or does it integrate with a payment gateway to aid seamless payment in the absence of cash? What exactly does your product do and how would it help their business.... these are questions you should ask yourself and when you have a good explanation, approach clients with these answers and explain how it will help them "save cost or get more profit" If they still turn you down, ask them to at least give you a reason they don't like/need the app or what they would have hoped the app would be like, remodel your app base on their reasons and sell again till you get it. #My2cents Hope it helps 4 Likes |

Taofeekdboy: You work remotely? as a Django or front-end developer? that aside, You know that redirect thing nairaland does when you log in, like it'll show a success page and then waits a while before redirecting to the home page. How can it be done with Django? I've done my due diligence, but can seem to know how to use reverse_lazy, or reverse() to achieve that feature Thanks! |

Toppytek: It's nothing complex, just ordering of url patterns, I already got some insight as to how to do it tho. the editor is Acode, while I use pydroid3 terminal to run command-line comands... I don't use iOS, but I'm sure a Google search would produce results |

Taofeekdboy: It's a typo, my url is correctly written courses:add_synopsis also I can't remove the str cause the url actually take a course parameter just like the one below it that takes 2 parameters. it's from a reverse() in a get_absolute_url method of the model funny thing is the code works fine provided the add_synopsis path is above the <str:course>, I just don't know why. maybe I'll ask advanced Django groups Thanks for the time |
Programming / Re: For Django Developer by Donpre(m): 11:39pm On Jul 17, 2020 |
Taofeekdboy:I got the last part but the first part didn't explain why Django didn't just skip the first three paths, considering I used {% url "course:add_synopsis" %} in my HTML. I would expect it would just call the view straight up but instead it's matching the second path. |
Programming / Re: For Django Developer by Donpre(m): 11:14pm On Jul 17, 2020 |
@django developers I need some explanation as to how url matching works. I've read the documentation but it didn't help. When I placed my 'add_synopsis' path below the rest (as shown) I get an error (also shown) Although I fixed it by moving the url path to the second position as recommend by a stack overflow post. I just want to understand how the url matching works and why my code got that error in the first place, in case of future codes and larger projects Thanks

Toppytek: Can't help you with the JavaScript because I haven't learnt any too, but it's as @taofeekdboy said. There's no more I can add. For flutter, I'm actually a flutter developer and it's for mobile apps, (desktop and web) but the last two are still terrible to use. All of them(React, Vue and Flutter) can consume REST API from DRF |

Depends on which part of programming you're going for For Android(App) development and data science, 8gb RAM and a fast core i5(the more recent gen, the better). Android studio and Data visualization apps consumes a lot of RAM For web development, anything would be fine 1 Like |

Akiliogidi:comes with 3MB cache https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/95443/intel-core-i5-7200u-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-10-ghz.html To support the comment before this, AMD processors come with good integrated graphics. So if you plan to use the system for any graphics work or gaming, you're better off with the AMD. 1 Like |

Programming / Re: Application Development Using Csharp (C#) by Donpre(m): 7:55pm On Jul 14, 2020 |
Akiliogidi: Okay, here why. AMD processor weren't as good as Intel's back in the day(A-series), not that they don't work but compared to similar Intel, they were below par and some people say they overheat. This changed when AMD came with their ryzen processors. The Ryzen 3000 and 4000 series (just came out) are better than Intel processors and are cheaper and comes with better integrated GPU, basically a flawless victory. So unless you're buying a Ryzen(3xxx or 4xxx), getting a 6th gen+ Intel core i5 is a better choice. Regarding cache, I doubt you're getting the cache value correctly. Post the exact name of the CPU, lemme check out the cache size myself. A core i5 7th gen shouldn't be any problem at all, even the least one. As a side note, getting an SSD hard drive, even if it's 256gb is better than a 1TB HDD drive. it'll speed up development and running applications. So get an SDD option instead of a HDD #My2cents |

Taofeekdboy:It's funny how you painted React in such bright only to recommend Vue at the end Another question tho, I know I'm getting ahead of myself here but is Vue/React integrated into the django template or you build API with DRF and make calls to that instead? |
