So I finished high school about two months ago, and I've been thinking of something to do to make some income. I was going to start teaching, but my dad discouraged me, saying something about not wanting me to answer "sir/ma" to anyone. Not that I have a problem with that...

Anyways, I want to start up something but I'm not really sure how or where to start since I don't have any prior business experience. I was thinking about starting up popcorn making, but I'm not sure how popular and profitable it is here in Jos, since I've not really seen any one do it. But the area I am is very busy, and I stay directly opposite two schools. So i don't know... infact any idea will suffice. Just give me something guys, PLEASE!!!

Bro/sis,they will assume whatever they want to assume,they will call you names over and overr again,you might have to get rejected 100 times before making one sale but trust me when it comes,you will smile because it was worth it and definitely a better financial benefit than selling for ridiculous prices to Nigerian "art lovers"

I confess, when i barged into the thread,i assumed you were referring to music artists...regardless,you make a good point.. making sales to the Nigerian market isnt easy regardless of the form of art you are into..personally,i am a songwriter, i learned soon after venturing into selling and co writing ,that Nigerians dont really value my work,so i started pushing avenues for my work to be sold to foreigners instead,now i have a few songs to my name, all vocalised by foreigners and they paid money for it still ...so my advice to you is to stop trying to sell art in Nigeria to Nigerians..you can make the art in Nigeria and even center the topic of your work on something 9ja related,but place your focus on selling it to people who clearly appreciate it,foreigners .

I'm a 21 year-old undergraduate affected by the ASUU strike and thanks to God I have been able to start making some cool money in tech. I want to ask you all what financial advices or investment tips you would give any one in their early twenties so they don't wreck themselves.

I need suggestions and recommendations on how to save and multiply my cash because I can feel the temptation to start spending for things I wouldn't need on a normal day. Your suggestions can be books, apps or tips that can help me become prudent and financially enlighthened.

This is so not true. I Studied Telecommunications Engineering and earned 50k for just an internship in Lagos for my 6 months SIWES. NYSC earned the same as us.

Fresh graduates in the ISP I did my internship got 202k for a start. There were engineers with just 3 yrs' experience earning 600k.

We knew no one, just four rounds of interviews. That's for networking though. Network Engineers are having jobs That pays well. That's If you have Linux, Networking skill and industry certifications.

Huawei does job fair yearly. Last year was at ATBU and UI. Close to 10 persons from my department got placed then. That's from a class of 50+.

If not for software development, I would have aimed to get a CCIE and earn the millions that comes with. But I love Codes also, and had to work remotely. But I'm still heading to Germany for masters in My Field(Japa Goals)

Access bank posted a CCIE job for 7 months and didn't get a hire. Because companies don't want to lose the ones they have.

There's job for the skilled Network engineers in the IT part of Engineering. Not just software development. Nigerian graduates don't have skills at entry level. Before I went for internship, I had Linux, HCIA and Python programming skill. This was embedded in my curriculum, and extra study I did.

Go into something much more advanced like UI UX design. If you want to remain in basic graphic design then learn digital marketing. Marketers are employed full time at a lot of companies and with your graphic skills you can handle social media for these companies.
