Try and understand him. What he's saying is, his family and friends keep asking when he entered Nigeria without him informing them beforehand, and it has been persistent to the point that they think he's lying... Probably in Nigeria but hiding from them.

It's not a matter of being a kid. The people you call over here would see you are using a Nigerian number to call but you claim to be abroad and it would seem you are telling a lie and that would cause a lot of damage. Imagine calling a business associate and telling him you are in the UK but it's a glo number that appeared on his screen. You could lose the deal.

That's why i don't have a phone number or SIM card in my phone, i just download a textme app on my phone and get a free phone number

This is 2017 and not 1965, no one trips for foreign phone numbers anymore

Good day house! I want to thank you all for this wonderful thread. Thanks to everyone who contributed one way or the other. I got my study visa today after 4 weeks.
To say that I am happy is an understatement.
I'm going for a Masters program in Cork
I submitted the following
1. Degree certificate
2. Employment letter (photocopy, I couldn't find the original)
3. Letter of admission
4. Present and previous international passports
5. Receipt of school fee payment (fees were paid in full)
6. Accommodation offer letter and proof of payment (I only paid the deposit and half of the accommodation fee)
7. Marriage certificate
8. Affidavit of change of name
9. Newspaper change of name
10. Sponsors bank statement (dorm account), sponsor's company document from cac ( sponsor is self employed)
10. Signed letter of undertaking and application letter
11. Visa refusal( I misplaced my original visa refusal letters so I decided to write a letter to the embassy explaining the reasons for refusal and informing them of the loss of the letters)
12. Private medical insurance ( I bought from the school
13. Evidence for educational gaps ( I submitted professional development course certificates I had acquired after graduation and after my employment contract expired)

Balanced funds don't guarantee capital because of its exposure to equity assets.
but the truth in equity space Always out performs money market instrument(Do your research)
in this case LeeCodeman is investing for the child which is obviously long term, balanced or a mixture of balanced funds is ideal.
investing in a balanced fund mitigates the risk of investing in equity directly while still offering returns close to what equity offers.
Now what am recommending is that he should have part of this child's funds in balanced funds to be able to take advantage of the returns,
the ratio he decides to split it between Money market fund and balanced fund is entirely up to him to decide.

Balanced Fund and Money Market Fund are investment portfolio under Mutual Fund. However, with BF there is the possibility of losing interest accrued and the principal invested is not guaranteed.

@ LeeCodeman, i want to assume that @ ernie4life suggested the balance fund investment because it offers a higher yield, but i strongly advise against it. For a long term investment, a steady cash flow and preservation of capital is key. I would suggest you stick with the money market fund investment for the reasons stated by @ ernie4life
