My opinion is that, we should stop helping the VO think. How can you know what the VO decided or wud ave preferred? That's a person on his/her own.
Just they pray anytime you apply for visa Bcuz nah God still dey do am. Example, some people on this forum say you shouldn't use a company account that they wudnt agree. In fact an agency even told me the same when I went for enquiries. But today by the grace of God I ave done my medical about 3weeks ago and yes I did use a company account. My friend is in Canada and he use a company account. So lets just try to apply with what's necessary and available and leave the rest to God.

How far, when would this people get back to us after medicals nah. I did my medicals on the 11th. When did u do yours. Am even more worried that when i submitted b4 sef.

Nigeria's Leaders' Shallow Mentality: Even at levels as high as the governor's office, they still subscribe to the stupid mentality of supporting foreign institutions blindly to the detriment of their own. Is the Lagos State government a shareholder in the Manchester United football business or what? How come a British football club, 6,500 kilometres away is being given free advert while the Stationery Stores FC of Lagos State is totally crippled and is not on the world's football radar? I just don’t understand the sense behind these ugly cakes.
What purpose do these symbols of cakey "bitter" cakes (with full insignia of Lagos State imposed side by side that of Man U logo) serve the interests of Lagosians except to continually get investments, recognition, etc., out of the state in favour of Manchester, UK which sadly still, did not solicit for the advert in any way? What about the effect this picture will have on unsuspecting, young, impressionable and naive minds in many years to come? I just can't come to terms with this childish idea at Fashola’s 50th birthday. It just steers logic on its head.
I love Fashola but I'm really disappointed at this anomaly at his 50th birthday. Hear this! Governor Fashola, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Rotimi Amaechi, the management of Manchester United does not even know you guys exit, so please stop deluding yourselves and get on with the business of empowering your people and country. These Nigerian dealers (not leaders) must be jesters fit only for the circus. What a shame!

I think your argument is baseless. This is the problem with Nigerians. Lack of clear purpose and focus. Is it the Manutd cake that he is cutting that would stop him from dishing out his responsibility as a governor. With all due respect Mr poster, get a grip of your anger, channel it to more effective and productive aspect of the society instead of ranting away in an inefficient manner. Mind you, the guy turned down the usual elaborate parties the other leader throw each year for themselves at the expense of we taxpayers, now a responsible governor cuts cake in the state house to mark his 50th (usually a landmark event in Nigeria) birthday and still people like you still come up.

newacca: The medics are not done to detect igbo level for ur body . na to check if you get any disease,ailment or medical condition especially contagious sicknesses and those that may stress on their health facilities.cos as i hear health facility na for free for dat side.
Igbo is given bad name cos it was discovered in Africa. Igbo is an herb on its on it used appropriately.

LOL, it was people that twisted my story oo. My main point was that people really needed to relax because when i went for mine, my BP was high and all, and i was instructed to go for further tests. So if igbo can calm u down, fine good for u, but all medical hopefuls really need to stay relaxed. Go one with your normal life and dont think about it.

lucky Don: I wonder why someone can be denied trv just because he or she is a smoker which is not even a disease...Also bearing in mind that the use of canabis is legalised in Canada for medicinal purpose.Besides most oyibos smoke...I think why med tests are conducted are just for communicable diseases.

True talk, am just saying just to be on the safe side. It could be anything but importantly, stay relaxed and fresh for the test.

Guys, May i suggest something? All medical hopefuls really really have to calm there nerves down, its really important from the medical angle.

When i went for my medicals, i was informed that my BP was a bit higher than normal and i was asked to go for further tests. Although during that period prior to my medicals, i was preparing for my CFA exam, so i haven't done any exercise in awhile, read, eat and sleep all day. However, my worrying of the visa would also have added to it.

So i suggest u really have to relax, don't worry too much, eat well, sleep exercise, stop drinking from from now till ur called, no smoking because u wld do exray, stay away from anyone smoking igbo so they dont see traces in your blood and think its you.

Thats my 2cents.

Lastly, how did you handle accommodation?

Its a one year program, so i just decided to pay for school hostel. I have paid over $30k sha.

@galala123, i am going for MSc Finance. I submitted to CDHC MArch 21st, gone for medicals and submitted my passport back and other requirments on the 11th of June, waiting for final decision.

They asked me to pay one year tuition and boarding which i have done.

Please i wanna know if the embassy asks you to pay one year school fees and accommodation, is it enough if you submit a letter from the school stating you have paid for these fees and attach a copy of the travelex payment slip.

The embassy has instructed me to show evidence of accommodation payment. Can u recommend any housing agent that i can use.

I have been online, i have seen some, but the prices are no less diff from the school arraingment. How can i get a good accommodation plus a room mate so we can split the cost.

How long after medicals does it take to get a final response from the embassy.

I wanted to invest on long time basis then and with the little money I have then I bought UBA(Standard Trust Bank then), Sky Bank, First Bank and Afri Bank shares. I didnt have problem as per the UBA/STB merger. Now Afri bank turning to Streamline Bank am not hearing any thing from them. I went for a broker when the news spread that we are moving to e-trading. I got a broker (LEAD CAPITAL). The coy even made me to loose intrest in stock buying. I had visited their office in VI but they seems to me as a dribbler or maybe I didnt have big shares with them thats why they are not responding to me at all.

One thing i noticed from your portfolio is that, u have a lot of banking shares. This means that ur nt adequately diversified. Almost all the banking stocks move in the same direction ( same as stocks in the same sector). If there is a downward trend in the banking sector, all your shares would go down at the same time. I advise you sell some shares, and buy non banking stocks that the correlation btw the sectors is low. That way, if there is a surge in the banks, you probabely wouldnt feel it that much.

If you notice, if GT bank shares rise, its likely that Zenith would rise as well, and if it falls, they follow each other

fckyourman: You know some portfolio managers are really selfish they really don't care about their clients.

There are always checks and balances, such as the investment policy statement, where you both agree to how u want to be managed. Although they would also still take excessive risk sometimes because of commission, but you could always get a hold of them

fckyourman: yeah, stock are worthwhile in longterm investments but choosing the right stock is crucial,yes i agree young people should try stock to.

And thats the job of portfolio managers, they know when to enter and exit

fckyourman: I dont think it's the right time to invest in stocks right now, all the share prices are crashing or the profit margin is really low.

For a young person with ong term plans for the investment, this is the perfect time to enter the market. One of the rules of the game is, buy low sell high. If u have the opportunity and free cash to invest now, i think you should, thats if u dont intend to use the money to pay for house in a year's time or something like that. The market did over 30% last year, and it is likely to do something similar as well this year. Soimagine u invested N100 last year, by this year it would have been N130 ( less transaction cost).

Please note that am nt a trader, i just love to read about finance.

I want to ask i lil question (sorry for being naive). Although, i haven't gotten my TRV, i want to make accommodation reservation. I would be attending St Mary's University in Halifax in September. I just want some experienced guys to fill me in on how your accommodation was handled before and after arriving in Canada. I was thinking of staying in the school hostel before, but i have changed my mind, so i am searching for accommodation outside the school.

Just got admitted to St. Mary's University (Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation). My admission letter was dispatched to Naija on Monday via courier so I cancelled my Humber PGD admission.

I hope they will not say it is late to apply as program start date is September 4
