The smallest screen I've ever considered post-2010 was an iPad. Why suffer yourself? With screens, the bigger the better. For sound, the more sound room the better. Although I'd prefer to watch every movie I'm looking forward to in cinemas, my adult body can't cope with uncomfortable cinema seats and over-loud noises. Spider-Man No Way Home's screening felt like torture after forty minutes from the loud bangs and shrill sounds of clanging metal.

It is a silly and conceited thought to associate viewing movies on phones with poverty. People have different reasons for choosing their medium of consumption. It may appear to you that you have arrived if you choose to go to the cinema or use a big screen TV. Your perception of arrival does not determine the state of being of others. Some people cannot be bothered by other people's spec.

The Matrix Resurrections is the latest installment in the story of Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) from director and writer Lana Wachowski. The box office total for the film, which officially opened in theaters on December 22nd, has reached $69.8m globally since its release in 76 markets. While it is still an unprecedented time in the midst of a global pandemic as well as HBO Max releasing the movie to streaming at the same time, it is still an impressive opening weekend total with everything seemingly working against it.

Keanu has never really been a good actor IMO.
He has a stilted way that acting that can work for movies like John Wick but not for a movie that needs to show acting range. In this movie, he look incredibly bored and his acting ranged from mediocre to bad.

The bolded summaries your problem in its entirety. Your perception is skewed which makes everything you typed to be hogwash.

You chose a "my way or the highway" approach to critic a movie because your sensibilities were offended. It is no wonder we have wicked academic supervisors in this country such that a number of the lecturers themselves prefer to school abroad.

Maybe you should resign yourself to watching Nollywood movies. That may help.

Whatever the scientific explanation behind Trinity's flight might be, The Matrix Resurrections' thematic reasoning is far more important (and, mercifully, easier to explain). Had Neo woken up in full possession of his One mojo, The Matrix Resurrections would've been a very short film, so weakening him is a matter of practicality - and also makes sense since Keanu Reeves' character is rediscovering himself after so long asleep. The decision to then have Trinity evolve into The One (or is it "The Two" now?) rectifies her terrible death from The Matrix Revolutions.

It was a difficult balancing act but they managed to pull it off. We have to understand the Matrix 1 was so original a concept that it was unlike any other. Once the idea sank in it was a battle between satisfying those who never liked it and those who wanted it to maintain the same momentum.

The reviews for The Matrix Resurrections are mixed. It depends on the state of mind and expectations of individual viewer. It is expected that viewers may want a fresh concept out of the sequel while others are not totally into the franchise.

The image attached for instance shows that the reviewer never liked the franchise, even the iconic Matrix 1.

Another reviewer felt that it was a missed opportunity to do something even more crazier within the Matrix cannon and even within our society state of affairs.

Yet another person is of the opinion that the 4th Matrix is not a reboot of the franchise but a nod to the original that gives fans a sense of closure that the ending lacked. A witty retread and great B grade Sci-Fi suspense thriller.

My thoughts on the reviews both from those that have watched it and for my Nairalanders is that the movie may or may not match your expectations. It just depends on whether the movie meets your particular needs now.

Your argument is both a Yes and No. There are so many actors who have been denied Oscars for their strong performances. Particularly, African Americans. Denzel's case is also similar to that of DiCaprio. He has also been denied many Oscars for many strong performances. Yet you cannot deny the fact that he is head and above in his acting career. The Oscar is the cherry to the cake. Both actors have paid their dues. Most of the preferences given by people about who the better actor is influenced by personal preferences.
