@Octopus Hmmm, Well the Hamburg win was good but I stand to be corrected when I say that it is a bit faster than the usual so Federer has more of a chance at the tournament I am no good at athlete physiology but considering Nadal's age I would bet he still has more juice to punish himself for at least a conservative 3 years. And besides that a great component of Federer's game is also his quickness and athleticism, and it hasn't hurt him over the years I don't want you to get the idea that I feel Federer is not a great player. He clearly is. But I see too many errant and aimless shots as well as consistent vulnerabilities to rank him as the greatest. Also on a lighter note I suspect you are professionally involved in tennis a fact that your friend gave away. its been a pleasure bantering |

Regardless of what you think about the Patriots they still put a whooping on the Jets. And I suspect more defeats will soon follow Pennington aint got the arm and Thomas Jones he's alright, but I dont think he can make deep holes. As per the Red Sox, I would rather them than the bloody Yankees Hate the Yankees with a passion. Bloody Spendthrifts ![]() |
@Mamajama There is no honour amongst perfidious beasts. |
It was a packed weekend of Nfl action with some interesting results My dear Eagles managed to lose a game they should have won with some dire Special teams plays The Ravens also threw the game away last night though they absolutely smothered the vaunted Bengals offense especially in the second half Their first three possessions ended in turnovers, it looks like it is the middle towards the end for Air Mcnair But boy can ED REED play football or what. The Patriots look awesome and the capture of Randy Moss might turn out to be quite a scoop. Tony Romo showed in stages that white men can run although one wonders if he would have done that with Micheal Strahan fully involved on the Giants line St Louis offense didn't amount to much as did the NewOrleans one The Chicago defense managed to smother LT but a trick play had him throwing his 7th career touchdown pass. The Bears need a quaterback for real. If they had one a Superbowl ring would be a distinct possibility Well looking forward to Week 2 |
I am jus watching a few clips of Zola now The man was a magician. To think I was rejoicing when they sent him off against us in USA 94 Might have scored and saved us the cruel eventual end |
@Ruudie I wouldn't necessarily chastise the Williams sisters for maximising their advantage in the power stakes over other players. But its the luck of the draw that other players simply ain't as athletic as they are. While we all appreciate the exquisite in tennis, seeing Venus stretch every sinew to get the seeming unreturnable shot or overwhelming power of Serena is quite a feast for the eyes. I reckon its just been Justine's year over the Williams. Their power will tell I predict in future meetings. And I will be sure to enjoy it. |
Muki I know say u fancy Ade ![]() Your infatuation with him is a giveaway |
No doubt Ronaldo is talented but I think Everton will be better served having a go. Ronaldo no fit make a whole team. Even you I am sure last season must have thot the game was up after they went up 2-0, before the keeper gave them a fillip. You are convinced by Vidic but he is not the paciest and in a race between Vidic and AJ I know who I would back. Rio on the other hand might have pace but his balance fails him at times. I guess opposites attract |
Ferdinand would do good to stay away from Yak I rate Ferdinand as a defender, and he is built in the mold of the Brazillian centre backs who are pretty good on the ball. But his balance is not very good especially against tuff low players. I remember the 4-1 win of Boro over United a few seasons back now and Yak who I really dont like victimised Rio. Malouda's goal in the charity shield I think also buttresses my point. |
@debosky I think self deprecation should be a requirement on this sports forums. A bit more cerebral I reckon |
nah ditch prefer lagbaja ![]() Kate Moss |
@McOmo Joe Cole is not the slowest , but he is not the quickest either He is quickwitted with the football but to play from the wings and make an impact you need the pace to really threaten. As an opposing coach I would be worried about Joe Cole but not overwhelmingly worried. There is a chance he might break out at times but not everytime he touched the ball But with the low centre of gravity and pace which SWP possesses it is a worry every time my guy touches the ball as was the case for Robben. |
@McOmo But for his propensity to get injured Malouda in for Robben is a bit of a downgrade Robben is a threat, very direct a Ronaldo without all the piazzas The only person like him now at Chelsea is Shaun Wright Phillips who I think is on some remote control to cross the ball as much as possible I think SWP has been overcoached a bit. He needs to get back to his Man City form where he did not mind taking the ball inside |
Frankly I have not much regard for the coup plotter nor the coup target But the 86 coup was especially notorious because they were a few decent officers amongst them most notably Lt Col Iyorche, with concrete concerns over the state of the military Espirit de Corps was being undermined by the Babangida regime with the promotion of politics amongst the military classes and standards were very low. They perhaps represented the last hope at the time to halt the slide of the military down into the abyss of mediocrity. We should all be regretful that they failed I feel. |
@Seun You must have read a bit of Friedman or Hayek because your argument is strangely academic But we deal with real life conditions in an industry where the companies enjoy the security of unreasonable contracts. This companies have the luxury to make this sort of decisions without incurring any penalties. Of course the belief of the hard nosed economist is that companies cannot afford to keep paying above cost and will be wiped out by more effective competition eventually but it is important to understand a Keynesian refrain: 'In the long run we are all deal' |
I have really given up understanding what drives you people I fail to believe that all this is purely in jest. One can really sense the pure bile in all your words. To make it worse, the abuse sef mostly no get merit and a bit redundant now Faggotry, Sexual perversity, tirades at each other's parents etc. A bit tiresome now I think |
@Jackal I will have you know that pap and plam oil has been used for ages to guarantee a solid torrent of ejaculate. It beats Burutanchi from my own experience ![]() |
@debosky I will admit I kind of appreciate the verbosity of those student union leaders At least they dont take themselves too seriously I remember Tony Fash in his prime at Ife. Saw him speak once. I swear the speech should be etched in stone. ![]() |
