Buhari, in the affidavit, said “I am the above-named person and deponent to this affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications documents as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board, as of the time of presenting this affidavit. “The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purpose. The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purposes.” If the military did not have GMB's documents,on what basis was he promoted at different levels and sent to various training, local and overseas? Nigerians, Think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this comment: ''Can u swear with ur balls that the military hasn't misplaced it? Or sabotaging it? The same military that earlier claimed they have all copies of certificates of former leaders less than 3 weeks ago suddenly showed face yesterday to say they don't.'' It is not possible for your employer to promote you at various levels, without having your documents! I suspect PDP and Military conspiracy! GMB's file had been tampered with! The military should be thoroughly probed! Sai Buhari! |
PDP has failed woefully to taint the GMB's integrity. I am pleased that the people's general is being put through various ''integrity tests'',prior to assumption of office as a democratically elected president. Now I trust him even more than before! We are impatiently waiting for the next ''attack'' Febuhari 14 is the D-Day! |
The 1999 constitution does not require a certificate. The principal report and recommendation is enough evidence of education to school certificate level. WAEC is just one of the prove but not d only prove. because WAEC needs evidence of ur education b4 you can write WAEC. Again all one needs to have a waec certificate is just one D8. Read 1999 Constitution below. The 1999 Constitution is explicit in its interpretation of Section 131 of the 1999 Constitution by Section 318. Section 131 states: “A person shall be qualified for election to the office of President if (a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; (b) he has attained the age of forty (40) years; (c )he is a member of a political party; and (d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. “In Section 318, School certificate or equivalent means (a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or (b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or “(c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and (i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) for a minimum of 10 years; and “(ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and “(iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English Language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); and “(d) Any other qualification acceptable by INEC.” |
jidody:This is misinformation. The affidavit refers to the relevant documents, not school cert in particular. |
In civilised countries, people do not call their Generals illiterate, they respect them.In US,a career in the military is as prestigious as any other career in the world, including those requiring PhDs. But in my country, somebody is calling a whole General that put his life on line so that Nigeria could remain one, an illiterate.I am shedding tears! Since some people have chosen to remain daft, here is the constitutional requirements again: Section 318 of the constitution "School Certificate or its equivalent" means (a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or (b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or (c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and - (i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and (ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and (iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and (d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission; Section 31 of the electoral act is also very clear: 31. -(1) Every political party shall not later than 60 days before the date appointed for a general election under the provisions of this Act, submit to the Commission in the prescribed forms the list of the candidates the Party proposes to sponsor at the elections. (2) The list or information submitted by each candidate shall be accompanied by an Affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the High Court of a State, indicating that he has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into that office. (3) The Commission shall, within 7 days of the receipt of the personal particulars of the candidate, publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest the election. (4) Any person may apply to the Commission for a copy of nomination form, affidavit and any other document submitted by a candidate at an election and the Commission shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee, issue such person with a certified copy of document within 14 days‖. (5) Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information INEC has accepted what Buhari has presented.Mischief makers should go to court or commit suicide! ADDENDUM: Up till this moment, entry into the Armed Forces in Nigeria is still based on Quota System/Federal Character. As at 1962 when Muhamadu Buhari enlisted in the Nigerian Military Training College, Kaduna, the pre-requisite qualification was attendance and passing out from a Secondary School. All what were required then were a Testimonial and Recommendation from the School. Buhari attended the Nigerian Military Training College, Kaduna, now renamed Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), now equivalent of a University in Nigeria. From 1962 to 1963, he underwent Officer Cadets training at Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot in England. From Nov. 1963 to Jan.1964, Muhamadu Buhari attended the Platoon Commanders' Course at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. Also in 1964, Buhari attended the Mechanical Transport Officers' Course at the Army Mechanical Transport School in Bordon, United Kingdom. Muhamadu Buhari attended the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, India in 1973. From 1979 to 1980, Colonel Muhamadu Buhari attended the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, U.S.A and graduated as a Fellow in Srategic Studies. With all these academic qualifications obtained by General Muhamadu Buhari, Buhari is not an illiterate. He is highly educated. |

What a hooey! Do we know what perjury is? The same military that confirmed that they have his documents,is now supposedly saying something different? Can't we read between the lines that they've been compromised? Are you also not aware that the same military under IBB ransacked GMB's house and went away with his documents? You need to do more research,Google is your friend?Would that not suggest that apart from copies in his file, that they also have his originals? byrron:I agree with you 100% that the constitution is sacrosanct.I hope you would also agree with me that neither GMB nor INEC has violated the constitution. Perhaps you meant section 318(d) of the constitution: (d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission So has INEC told Nigerians that GMB qualification/affidavit is not acceptable to them? are you still assuming ignorance after what I have being posting: Anyway,GMB has more than school cert.He has complied fully with the laws of the land.I admire his calmness over this nonsensical hooey.A general that has attended the best degree awarding military institutions in the world(local and international),has enough education to lead Nigeria. He has done it before!!!!!!! Are his documents not with the military? In civilized countries, a career in the military is very prestigious, comparable to any career that requires say MSc or even PhD.It is therefore an insult on the military institution,to regard GMB as an illiterate, someone that put his life online for this great nation.I am shedding tears The gentle General has complied with the requirements of the law and we should give him all due respect of a General! 2015 elections will come and go,but the bad precedent of insulting a General and an elder statesman for that matter, might hunt the mischief makers for ever! Just in case anyone is yet to be aware: Section 31 of the Electoral Act and 318 of the constitution are very clear(The law is not interested in any certificate, but just an assurance that you are educated),an affidavit is sufficient ,according to the law: ELECTORAL ACT 31. -(1) Every political party shall not later than 60 days before the date appointed for a general election under the provisions of this Act, submit to the Commission in the prescribed forms the list of the candidates the Party proposes to sponsor at the elections. PointB:Ok.I will tell GMB to address a letter to you, stating what effort he has made to get the certificate from the military and result of such effort. A big Clown! |
eminikansoso:She is a big idiot fool! Is there any election where the incumbent has 100% votes? Her curse will surely go back to her. |
bettercreature:If you want the curse to go back to the sender(Mujahidat, Asari Dokubo's Wife) please click ''like'' Yesterday it was a death wish, now it is a curse. What is democracy turning to? Must everybody vote for the same candidate or be in the same party? Next month is Febuhari. It is well with all of us,whether APC or PDP supporters(AMEN)! |
onatisi:I am on ground in Lagos. Please talk for your self only.Although I do not have the statistics, but it would be very wrong for someone to lie or make conclusions without evidence that APC has fallen in Lagos. If you have the statistics/poll please show the evidence. But what I am sure of is that both parties have their supporters in the south west, just like in any other region of the country. However politics is a game of numbers, only GOD can decide on Febuhari 14,who wins! Enough of deceit or conclusions without verifiable proof. |
otil1:Conspiracy of ignorance? As far as well educated south westerners are concerned, the 1999 constitution has not been amended to require that a presidential candidate must be disqualified for not attaching his certificate to his form.
