Politics / Re: JUNE 12: Buhari Is Like Jesus - MURIC Tells Protesters by Doyin2(m): 3:04pm On Jun 14, 2021 |
obinoral1179: Mr man,June 12 is a date to celebrate MKO Abiola and not protest. Unfortunately this year, hardly did any one remember him, because of misguided miscreants. If we take all our national days as protest days and block roads and instill fears in our people, set tyre burn fire on the roads to destroy the little we have, how do we develop from there? Too much of everything is nothing. |

mekaboy: Liar from the pit of hell! Go and read about the origin of Facebook. No global tech company can ignore Africa and Nigeria ,most especially when developed continents already have alternatives to say Facebook.Instagram and even twitter. Dump people using lies to cover their shame! Facebook had no plan for Africa?Yet the CEO is focusing on Africa and the youths, launching various programs on the continent. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Kuceeh: I feel you. But government does not consider individual benefits but overall national interest ,when taking decisions. I always advice people to consider extreme cases in determining the veracity of a decision: Now just assume it was later found out that twitter was set up to distabilise developing nations in order not to grow, mind you countries are in competition, the more we grow, the less foreign growth.Have you imagined if Facebook, twitter and Instagram were all based in Nigeria? So if Twitter(assumption)was set up to distabilise Nigeria, the govt should still not ban it because some people are making money from it? But I can assure you the current situation temporal. Please reason selflessly, not like many empty brains on Nairaland. 2 Likes 1 Share |

My observation: All these foreign elements would bark at weaker countries, especially African,in the name of human rights. But they dare not do same to super powers like China and South Korea. Is Nigeria the only country restricting the excesses of Twitter? What is wrong in a temporary ban to register displeasure with a foreign information platform? Is Twitter the only means of communication in Nigeria? When Twitter suspend your account due to violations, what happens to UN chatter on human rights? I may be twitting secretly, but I stand firmly with my country's leadership on this.Let those foreign elements mind their business. Can Nigeria dare interfere in any internal policy of these foreign countries? Are they all perfect on human rights? Africans think! |

CilicMarin: Well said. Twitter has not deleted any of Nnamdi Kanu's very incitive tweets, but they were quick to delete that of our president. Ipob is legally a terrorist organization in Nigeria for God's sake! It seems many outer organizations would be happy to see Nigeria destroyed. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Hassanmaye: We have cocoa and palm oil as well.I enjoy the palm oil from ondo and ife more than the chemicalised ones from the east. No Malaysian palm oil is better than that of any Nigerian region. The oil wells in ondo and Lagos can sustain us too.The rubber plantations only need to be revitalised. So many other agricultural cash crops are available in the southwest, ditto other regions. However it is very shallow thinking to assume only natural resources can develop a nation. In this information age, our outstanding human resources and IT prowess are very much adequate and sufficient. Every region can survive on its known, but ask America union why they are called the United States of America. There is definitely strength in unionism. 3 Likes |

Scores of Yoruba nation agitators We the real Yorubas know ourselves. We can never be part of this shenanigans. The real yoruba person is characterized by acceptable level of intelligence. No intelligent person would support any secession,if at all, definitely not now! Igboho is only trying to satisfy his selfish and pecuniary interest, otherwise any fight for self determination should have received the prior blessings of the majority of the affected people, via a referendum, preferably. This is the same predicament with IPOB.No force could have suppressed the agitations of the majority of the Igbo people. You don't just gather people and sympathisers to start polluting the environment with self determination noise. Of course many people would still support you,but are they in the majority? 3 Likes 1 Share |

proxillin: Very shallow thinking faculty. Nigeria's brand of democracy gives every region opportunity to produce the leaders. When GEJ or OBJ was in power,no body talked about Fulani slaves. Buhari will be there for only eight years max. The high level of intolerance for leaders from other regions other than yours is very pathetic to say the least. Very mischievously, all these agitations would reduce when a southerner assume the presidency. Very intolerant set of people! A real yoruba person is characterized by tolerance and tenacity. If you are Yoruba and talking of fulani slavery ,then you are very fake! A real Yoruba is convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that he or she can never be a slave to anybody,he or she is only being tolerant, tenacious and a true democrat. A real Yoruba believes that there is strength in diversity and that any seemingly domination of any region can only be temporal. Only a fake and selfish yoruba person would be pushing for secession now that the country is facing very critical security and economic challenges. The Nigerian security forces are already overstretched and inadequate, only a selfish and stupid yoruba person would support any further stretch. |

Eriokanmi: And which group is that? Does that group constitute or represent the popular stance or opinion of the Yoruba people? Any serious and unselfish movement for self determination should be preceded by a referendum of the affected people. Thereafter the majority have their way whilst minority would have no choice but to abide, even though they could only have their say. Stupidity is when you assume the agitations of a few ,without any reliable referendum,as the general agitations of the people. Is secession the popular resolution of majority of the Yoruba people? |

InaNla: Lori Ofo. All these your rantings upon scores of selfish people? Research has shown that virtually all agitations for secession or sharia in Africa is based on very selfish and pecuniary agenda,by the major promoters, unknown to their gullible and probably innocent followers. This one cannot be an exception. How many seceded or "shariad" nations or states, are more prosperous than their parent countries? I am challenging any knowledgeable person to engage me! D.O.A |
