naijareferee:My respect for GMB grew stronger after reading the constitution. He remained calm because he knew he had complied with the law of the land. According to section 318 of the constitution: "School Certificate or its equivalent" means (a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or (b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or (c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and - (i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and (ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and (iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and (d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission; |
Another religious Hooey! GMB all the way, till GOD unites us back as a nation(when GEJ would have gone with his religious dichotomy),where leadership would not be determined by the nature of your ethnic or religious belief, but by the content of your character and vision. |
munex007:AMEN. Those who are playing politics with life and death should note that your age does not determine your life and death.GOD gives and takes! |
Orikinla:Thank you. Agbaje cannot effectively manage his pharmeutoical company,(JAY KAY),but wants to manage a whole Lagos,by providing free internet service.I beg let him contest first for Apapa LG, to garner experience! ![]() |
This is a useless thread. A slip of tongue that could happen to any body is now a an issue of campaign? |

Cachez:That's governance by deceit.People Deceiving Party! |
It is a monumental deceit to claim that GEJ transformed the economy to be the largest in Africa. What was done was just to rebase the economy(something similar to revaluation of assets) so that the GDP now becomes a bigger figure. It's like conducting population census only to find out that the population has doubled, and then claiming that GEJ's doubled Nigeria's population!!!! Previous governments never bothered about rebasing(revaluing )the GDP because it does not connote economic development,it's just a mere updating of figures! Also the size of the economy is mainly(about 85%) because of oil exports. Now that the oil prices have dropped by more than 50%,our GDP would also have reduced drastically along that path! |

Truth must be told, always: In June 2001, Sheikh Sidi Attahiru Ibrahim launched his book at a Dan Fodio University event. General Muhammadu Buhari was invited to chair the event, where he spoke ex-tempore. Later that month, Buhari granted an interview to Rev, Fr. Matthew Hassan Kukah (present day Catholic Bishop of Sokoto) confirming what he said at the book launch. Here is the relevant portion of Kukah’s report on what Buhari said during their June 23, 2001 conversation (which was published in the Weekly Trust edition of July 6-12, 2001) “During the course of my comments, I drew attention to the fact that the introduction of Sharia had become one of the main issues in this new dispensation. I explained that Sharia, however, has been with us well before the British colonized Nigeria. Now, Sharia has been introduced in many Northern states and Sokoto is one of the states that has already adopted Sharia. It must be pointed out however that Sharia is applicable only to Muslims. Those elements that have taken the law into their hands and use the opportunity to molest other non-Muslims are not helping the cause. What is amore, they are like bad policemen or judges who are making the enforcement of justice so difficult in Nigeria. Their shortcoming does not do the police force or the judiciary any good, but these acts do not detract from the imperative of both institutions. Midway through our democracy, we have time now to assess the situation on ground in terms of making our choice in the next elections. Vote for good men whether they are in Borno, Katsina, Sokoto or wherever. Vote for those who will protect your interest. This, Rev. Father, is the summary of every thing I said and the tapes are there.” (1) Nothing controversial in any portion of that statement, I’d say? The controversy began when Ahmed Oyerinde, a long time Sokoto correspondent for ThisDay and other Newspapers, (who was not at the venue of the book launch when Buhari spoke) made up the false quote and reported this as fact in ThisDay. In the aftermath of his report, the tape of the event was played and no such statement was found there. Oyerinde later confessed to his Editors that he was not at the event and did not hear Buhari say any such thing. I was told that ThisDay later published a retraction of the report. (2) For the record, Oyerinde, sadly now late, had been the subject of a disciplinary investigation by Nigerian Press watchdogs for allegations of taking money to write false and mischievous stories. The allegations were confirmed and he was reprimanded. One of these investigations dates back to 1990. (3) Yet, despite Buhari’s many denials, and the defence of neutral observers like Fr. Kukah & Garba Shehu the peddlers of this lie keep repeating them maliciously. Source:http://factchecki.ng/question/did-buhari-say-muslims-should-only-vote-for-muslim-leaders/ |

Any way,Next month is Febuhari.Nigerians would prove to mischief makers that religion cannot becloud our clarion call for change So many lies just to discredit the people's general: In June 2001, Sheikh Sidi Attahiru Ibrahim launched his book at a Dan Fodio University event. Big lie from the bottom of hell. A pastor helping to spread falsehood. All these personality attacks on Buhari is only making him more popular. So many false statements has been attributed to Buhari, this is another one of them. Let somebody proof that Buhari made the statement. This is Buharis reaction to this satanic allegation: ''Well, that perception remains. I know in 2003 I wrote to many Bishops and I could recall I visited some in 2003 and 2007. As you said, it happened in Sokoto in 2000 before I participated in elections. The person who reported me by tribe is a Yoruba man, by religion a Muslim. He was not in Sokoto and does not understand Hausa, maybe he still doesn’t. How he got the story I don’t know. And the comment I made was that people in Sokoto know their people, that when the ban on politics is lifted they should choose the people that will represent them responsibly. This is common sense: if someone aspires to rule this country, he cannot afford to offend even pagans or even atheists—those who don’t even believe in God. These are the people that will vote. How can I say Muslims should not vote for Christians? Then do I expect Christians to vote me, a Muslim? I wrote to the Bishops. I explained to them, but I think, as you mentioned, perception, people hold on to their perception. Even the church leaders were careful to explain to their flock that there is no way any leader will, at the federal level, antagonize any of the religions. So, I wrote to the Bishops to explain but I am still very surprised that the perception remains. So there is nothing I can do about it, but I will continue to explain my position. And I have backed it by facts that I have served the country’s military for 25 years. I did all the command and staff work, as a platoon commander to General Officer Commanding and the only still surviving officer that commanded three of the four commands in the Nigerian Army. And the Nigerian Army is about 75% Christian and nobody has ever said I took a decision against anybody because of his religion or his tribe. There are other tribes in the whole command. So, if for politically it sticks that I don’t like Christians, well it is very very unfortunate, but my performance in office at all stages has portrayed me as an impartial person, and I have believe that whoever is still bringing that case up, for whatever vote, will definitely fail in a free and fair election. The question of me being a Sharia advocate and a hater of Christians has never happened and it will certainly fail.''-GMB |
One month to Febuhari 2015 ![]() The visit is an ineffective electoral strategy. |
olatade:Ineffective electoral strategy! Anyway Pictures or I would not believe! |
This is a slip from a performing governor Fashola. Please let us forgive him,no man can be perfect with all utterances,no matter how careful. We should regard this as one of those imperfections. Discrimination based on age is undemocratic and cannot define leadership capabilities. However based on experience and leadership capabilities and antecedents,Ambode is miles ahead of Agbaje. Next month is Febuhari! |
Please let us distinguish between IBB from IBB military government. That IBB government seized Buhari's certificates implies that they are with the military institution, not necessarily with IBB as a person! |
ajebuter:Is IBB the same as IBB's government(military)? In civilized world, the citizens respect their army personnel, serving or retired. It's a big shame that someone would describe a retired general as an illiterate.Very sad! I think we should use our senses. |
ichidodo:IBB's govt(Military) is different from IBB. |
Ladies and gentlemen. If a job advert requires a minimum qualification of school certificate education ,it follows that the job was not intended for a PhD holder! Next month is Febuhari! |
Trailblazer1:I pity Ndigbo. GEJ could not have been president without the support of the northerners or rigging. The geographical distribution of voters indicate that unless Ndigbo reconciles with the north, they would never produce a President. This politics of hatred, religion and tribalism might forever hunt Ndigbo. The likes of Okorocha and Chris Ngige are very wise! |
honeric01:Thank you. I also schooled in England. My Dad was a Unilag lecturer and could not afford me going to UK.I insisted and carried my own cross all by my self.I was a working student. So why should my Dad be blamed for my decision to study in UK? Please let us face the real issues! |
bayulll01:If these questions where true, then GEJ should be held responsible for the escalation of Boko Haram devilish acts! They should have been crushed before now, like what GMB did to the terror group, maitaseine. |
GMB is a very disciplined leader. He complied fully with the electoral act 2010. Neither the constitution nor the electoral act requires a presidential candidate to tender certificates. The electoral act is very clear: -(1) Every political party shall not later than 60 days before the date appointed for a general election under the provisions of this Act, submit to the Commission in the prescribed forms the list of the candidates the Party proposes to sponsor at the elections. (2) The list or information submitted by each candidate shall be accompanied by an Affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the High Court of a State, indicating that he has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into that office. (3) The Commission shall, within 7 days of the receipt of the personal particulars of the candidate, publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest the election. (4) Any person may apply to the Commission for a copy of nomination form, affidavit and any other document submitted by a candidate at an election and the Commission shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee, issue such person with a certified copy of document within 14 days‖. (5) Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information given by a candidate in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate is false may file a suit at the High Court of a State or Federal High Court against such person seeking a declaration that the information contained in the affidavit is false. (6) If the Court determines that any of the information contained in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate is false, the Court shall issue an order disqualifying the candidate from contesting the election. |

The constitution requires a minimum education of up to school cert or EQUIVALENT. Buhari has more than School cert education,Diploma from US war college that now Offers MSc! Next month is FeBuhari |
