Politics / Re: Senators That Sponsored Three Controversial Bills In Nigeria by doziex: 2:18pm On Mar 13, 2020
Hmmm,, some folks want to end what little productivity or economic activity that exists in certain areas in this country.

This is part of that Islamization and fulanisation agenda. They want to cripple the economy of the south. This is simply a noose around the necks of productive nigerians. Imagine having to get approval from this hateful government to produce power for economic activity ?

Let he/she who has understanding decipher this multiprunged agenda involving state and none state actors.

Fulani terrorists in the guise of herders kill, maim and terrorize Nigerians into submission . Villages are ethnically cleansed into IDP camps daily.
Fulani captured central government orders centrally controlled armed forces and police to aide, abate and turn a blind eye to these activities.
Over paid senators from unproductive states ravaged by Fulani terrorists seek to make laws that muzzle the people and hamper business activity.

If the senator from niger state is interested in a clean environment, he should start with a bill against open defeacation.

Bayelsans need to be smart, someone wants you guys at each other's throat. Just like in imo state, this hijacked and compromised Supreme Court has once again used technicalities or voodoo mathematics to subvert the popular will of the people.

This folks are masters of misdirection

So just when the PDP is calling on the international community to sanction the ruling APC for hijacking our democracy thru compromising the Supreme Court, they rule against themselves to misdirect the international community and muddy the waters as concerning PDP's claims.

Moreover, they sacrifice Lyons, but create strife, confusion and pandemonium in this militant oil rich state.

Hey, Cabal, longtime me a sight ya.

Of course, Nigerians are once again displaying their legendary incapacity to reason properly

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

The Nigerian mainstream media are once again choosing to turn a blind eye to this tragedy in slow motion.

Afterall, who cares about those Ipobians. They don't deserve to have their rights as human beings respected.

I watched the multiple award wining TVC news journalist Babajide Otitoloju in 2017 justifying the army raid on mazi Nnamdi Kanu's residence saying which commander in chief anywhere can tolerate people in uniform parading like an army.

Fast forward to present day, he justified the formation of Amotekun ; essential men in uniform parading like an army. With security vehicles to boot.

In both instances , many Nigerians agreed with him. Today, we are all alive to the threat posed to all of us by this beast of no nation in aso rock.
But yet no outcry by the press and the civil rights community perhaps till after this preventable tragedy is carried out to plan by this blood thirsty regime.

Those who ride the back of a tiger should be carefull lest they end up in it's belly.

I am very disappointed in Femi Falana for engaging in what amounts to character assasination based on fake news. For a man who purports to fight injustice to unjustly crucify professor Kingsley Moghalu is just appalling. He should very publicly withdraw his assertions and apologize to Professor Kingsley Moghalu.

The same happened to ex governor Peter Obi whom governor El Rufai a known demagogue, falsely accused of deporting non indigenes from anambra state when in fact it was Peter Obi that was telling the then gov. Fashola that evicting non indigenes was wrong.

But Nigerians and their media institutions are lazy and morally bankrupt. So, this kind of character assassination would go unreported and be propagated as facts for years to come.

Nigerians, nah wah for all of us.

Why are we given to rumors, superstition and propaganda?

We choose not to emphasize the issue of the server. The server can be interrogated by IT experts, provided by a neutral organization say Microsoft.

If their is evidence that the original figures were deleted and substituted for fraudulent figures, then the courts should rule in favor of atiku.

If the server shows no evidence of tampering, the Buhari retains his new mandate.

Unfortunately, the inflation of northern votes, the absence of card readers in northern poling centers and thug/ military voter intimidation should be addressed with new safeguards for the next election and must be passed into law ASAP.

Well, if we are so smart and know it all, how come the evidence on the battlefield shows otherwise.
It takes humility to properly assess your areas of weakness, then seek assistance from those who have demonstrated strength in those areas.

These guys are mostly likely just combat footage camera men. So there is a high chance of being KIA when they accompany their front line suicidal elements.

Our army should request the help of the U.K. Combat training team to assist us in establishing proper combat engineering units.

Combat engineers need to design and construct these camp bastion type defensive structures using the hesco barriers to erect structures that would withstand anti aircraft artillery fire and also provide elevated watchtower like positions.

Then as has been mentioned before, use land mines, razor wire, machine guns and mortars to shape proper kill zones. These would channel the advancing jihadists to their certain deaths.

Furthermore, me thinks that stand off direct attack weapons such as the TOW missiles, or the Israeli spider atgm would help to neutralize anti aircraft guns before they get within effective range, should be acquired asap.

All these, plus readily available combat air support aircraft such as the weaponized crop duster the AT-802 Air tractor , would save the lives of our brave troops and prevent them from being overrun.

If the brits and Americans didn't set up their defensive structures as such, they would be overrun just like a lot of our bases are being overrun and weapons looted.

I believe the air tractor can be gotten off the shelf or at least a lot sooner than the Tucano.

I'm afraid Cameroon was not involved in that operation in any way. It was Nigeria, T'Chad and Niger. The MRAPs were Nigérian , Artillery was D-30 2A18 122mm Nigerian howitzers, ground troops Nigerian also and the Mi-8 helicopter T'chadian.

Malkanory is in the T'Chad-Niger-Nigeria sector of the lake T'Chad hence the involvement of the national forces. The latest Nigerian-led MNJTF strategy on operation Yancin Tafki against ISWAP focuses heavily on cooperation.

You can clearly see the MRAP with a Niger flag and the helicopter with a T'chadian TT- serial number.

I am not talking about this picture. There are several pictures and reports of Cameroonian forces with their IFVs and mraps patrolling with our troops in Sambisa forest and in other joint patrols.

My point is that our troops have been put in the humiliating position of having to wait for Cameroonian armor to come from 60 miles away in order to conduct their patrols safely.
Ten years or so into this war, why are our neighbors still better equipped than us in this battle space?

Bro, how many military bases and FOB's have been overrun? Is that real, or just a figment of my imagination.

BHTS are openly advertising our captured "equipments " online.

NAF claims to be pounding them, but in reality those are pinpricks. How much pounding can you really accomplish with alpha jet light trainers and F-7s ?
If you wan see pounding, study what the Russian Air Force did in Syria with su-34, 30s, 24s and su-25.

Now, most of these jets are already in the orbat of some African countries, so don't say it's out of our reach.

Nigerian soldiers have been crying to anyone that would listen that they are not getting the equipment and logistics they need to fight this war.

All these point to official lack of seriousness. Instead of oversight and support, Abuja for years couldn't care less about these issues. So who will mind our stead, if the elected watchmen are out to sea.?

That's why now everyone is lamenting about insecurity as if it started today. The dark clouds have been gathering for decades, but most of us chose the ostrich strategy.

So you would rather discuss my mental health than address these issues .

It has been said that small minds discuss people, large minds discuss ideas. Let's maintain the right focus on ideas.

In/dia does not operate militias , Paki/stan does eg mujahid force , Khasadar force , Kurram militia etc . Funny thing they are trying to disband them as was revealed by their PM this year.

Assam rifles is a paramilitary force staffed by army officer under deputation but under the control of home ministry. It is was termed as a paramilitary to overcome laws which forbade military deployment in civilian areas unless under external threat.

They are regular full time military force for operations in jungle terrains of North East In/dia with active duty participation in WW1 , WW2 , sino Ind/ia war , Bangladesh war.

To include the glovers hausas in 19th century Nigeria.

The ghurkas rifles which eventually became a regular unit

I am sure if we look around very well,we will see countries to emulate for every government policy, good or bad. We don't have to do copy and paste for everything, most especially because societies differ.

This same policy of arming militias has torn countries and regions apart, how well has Afghanistan fared after the US armed the mujahideens?, Obama armed Al-Nusra in Syria, what is the outcome today?,even our backyard in Mali, barbar militants are running amok with arms. Pakistan is not exactly the epitome of peace and political stability, and India is not exactly the beacon of good governance(though I particularly haven't heard of them arming local militias).

Victory over BH requires an exclusively military solution. We won't be talking about the CJTF if the government is seriously willing to unleash sufficiently lethal force on this threat.

This is what I am talking about this blog is best if used to raise new and different ideas and strategies. We need to later all the back and forth juvenile name calling.

I actually suggested the formation of a civilian militia circa 2011 on beegeagles blog. I got the idea from Montagnards, Vietnamese tribesmen trained and used by the US green berets . They were very effective against the Vietcong.
The sons of Iraq was a militia used by general petraus effectively against the al Qaeda inspired insurgency .
Even the Nigerian army used the kamajors against the RUF rebels in Sierra Leone.
It is very risky and could backfire, you must be sure your interest align with that of the militia.

For one,I disagree with the notion that the government should further arm the CJTF and other vigilante groups, no serious government goes about arming militias within its territory,it could end up causing future problems. Instead, they should be assimilated into the existing security structure.

India has local militias such as the Assam rifles. They are armed and assist in their counterinsurgency strategy.

Pakistan have their border rangers that is also an armed civilian militia type of outfit

Most of our military brass trained in the military institutions of these 2 countries.

So tell me, do we run a more serious and accomplished government than they ?

We don't need to reinvent the wheel, all we need to do is to study and learn from the experience of others.

However We should be careful about aiding and helping BH.
The NA that you are claiming wont engaged BH was busy yesterday destroyed a BH team in Gwoza.
Everyone is entitled to their views. The reality on the ground is a lot different.
It also does a great disservice to the Men and Women who are fighting.
The CJTF are here to stayThey are armed with the Shotguns that were seized by Customs. They gave proved their worth in blood.
They are not going anywhere nor would or should they be armed with outdated bolt action Rifles when the enemy is using AK47s.
Thank God you are not the one making those decisions.

A bolt action rifle from ww2, is a better combat weapon than a pump action rifle,a double barrel or the local hunters gun.

It's a good sniper rifle. More accurate at stand off ranges than what the CJTF currently use. All you got to do, is clean and oil them.

It has a bayonet for close quarter combat.

It has a magazine that allows for multiple shots before reloading. Not a one or 2 shot deal.

This gives them a chance at survival against bhts automatic assault rifles and keeps them a step under our military just in case they go rouge.

However, I think that things are so bad, that they should be allowed to keep and use all the weapons they capture from bhts.

Sorry partner, a kingdom divided against itself can not stand.

The political class have been totally disinterested in the specifics of what it requires to fight this war.
The generals and commanders are only interested in diverting the already inadequate funding for men and material.
Even the governors that are serious about governance and security, are being strangled by the ridiculous unitary constitution of ours.

Inefficiency abounds through out our operations.

For instance, the CJTF could effectively protect the populous in the north east with some ex police bolt action rifles and embedded special forces/pmcs. This allows the army to stay on the hunt, which is how one should tackle counterinsurgency. Instead , they keep drafting policemen from other states, who know nothing about the terrain or the local folks.

You think getting professional advice on how to win this war is cowardice? When Nigerian troops are afraid to patrol their own territory without the Cameroonian forces and their MRAPs.
When we need Chadian troops to spearhead our assaults and maneuvers.

It's too late to be too proud to beg.

Furthermore, for those in the south that are under the illusion that they are safe, when the Frankenstein creatures of the north reach maturity and overpower our military, the rest of the country unprepared for combat will fold in rapid succession.
Maiduguri, Kano, kaduna (with all it's military facilities . real smart, locating your entire military industrial complex in one state).

Then Abuja that lives in a cocoon, will fall because the soldiers will no longer stand and fight. However, the populus and the political class would not be able to escape. Not by road at least, cause the herdsmen have already cut all routes out and are essentially besieging all Nigerian cities, towns and villages.

Delusional Nigerians that believe in only prayers will be sitting ducks. For slaughtering. Benue, southern kaduna and zamfara are just the preamble to this tragedy that is already upon us.

Nigerians, we WILL LOOSE THIS WAR !!!

The ostrich approach of our citizens, media and political class. Coupled with our corrupt and lying military brass has sealed this nations fate.
Our last chance is to be honest with ourselves, humble ourselves and seek real professional, experienced help.

Call them mercenaries or Professional Military Companies, we MUST as a matter of national survival contract not just one, but several PMCs, to turn this unfolding tragedy around.

Those who usually argue with me or condemn me when I have made these suggestions in the past, PLEASE don't. Instead, help me get the word out.

The only way we can get past a dysfunctional military and government that has issues with meritocracy , with corruption as the order of the day, is to somehow BYPASS them.

My recommendations are as follows

(1) Hire a reputable PMC with a proven record of efficacy and capacity.
(2) Let them just face the north east challenge alone. State governors should set up their security strategy with their own pmcs to deal with local issues and the herdsmen menace.
(3) They should be contracted to train, advise and equip our military.
(4) They should be authorized to select the effective units we have and use them for the task at hand.

Our military brass is simply too entangled in corruption, propaganda and eye service to do what is necessary to win this war. We will still maintain overall control over these pmcs, because the soldiers and the financing is in governments hands.

This is just an adhoc measure. We should then expand our program with the British training team to stand up and re orient our entire military from battalion to brigade to divisional level.
They are currently offering us some training at their own expense. We should prioritize our security needs and pay for the full package they offer.

Finally, rather than wait for 2022 for the Americans to finally deliver our 12 tucano ISR/precision attack platform, we should get available Air tractor AT-802 which is a crop duster converted into a tucano like platform.

It's parts are cheap and available. And cannot be sanctioned by congress as farmers can order all the used crop dusters they want.

We can also contact paramount group as they specialize in refurbishing and upgrading used and affordable equipment.

Lastly, we should organize stakeholder companies and individuals with means, to raise a war fighting and equipment purchase fund.

Let's be innovative, what we have tried for the last ten years has not worked.

God bless Nigeria.

Why can't they concession the airport. As is common practice world over. A privately owned or managed airport will be a lot more successful and economically beneficial to the south east region.
With Fulani herdsmen besieging towns and highways all over the nation. Who wants to have to drive through bad federal roads and treacherous territory to catch an international flight in Lagos or Abuja.

And the federal government ran the Enugu airport down in the ist place. Then, they are turning around to short change the economic development of the south east.
The Igbo owner of air peace airlines wants to make Enugu it's main hub. He is ready to get the concession and upgrade that airport to world standards. But the PMB administration under the guise of the Air Force, wouldn't swap their nonfunctional airbase on the airport premises for land elsewhere in Enugu.
Southeast governors need to wake up and protect the interests of their people as they were elected to do.
Being intimidated or afraid of PMB's dictatorial tendencies disqualifies you from the job. You should resign and let those with the requisite testicular fortitude govern us.

Northern Nigeria is on fire, and yet they are still bent on imposing their destructive way of life on the south.

Just this week, a strip club is demolished in Abuja with extreme prejudice. Women are being harassed by so called government officials all through the city. These moves are designed to sow fear and undermine the tenets of democracy in nigeria.

In ondo state, governor Akeredolu has come up with a great proposal to grow marijuana for medicinal purposes. Canada is already set to import tons of marijuana from Uganda. But our almajiri brothers to the north want to scuttle this job and wealth creating idea.

Nah for EFCC to dey harass Naira Marley upandan.

The youths of the south will soon or are already bypassing their cowardly leaders and would revolt against this hypocritical government.
Middle belt and northern youths stand up and be counted.

Don't take your frustrations out on defenseless Nigerians, but channel it to the correct source of your frustrations.

May God save Nigeria.

Igbos, yorubas and other minority tribes in Nigeria it is TIME to wise up to the impending doom that surrounds every town, village or hamlet in nigeria.
Fulani herdsmen has been positioned like a noose around our collective necks by their ancient livelihood. They have reared cattle to the outskirts of every meat market for generations. Hence, they know the forests and farmlands surrounding our towns, while the town indigenes have no clue.
They have now realized the stranglehold they have on life, logistics and farming across Nigeria.

Believe me they could turn any part of nigeria Abuja included into zamfara state in a matter of weeks .

You have seen them wreak havoc in jos, agatu, benue, southern kaduna , edo state, kaduna-Abuja highway and they are most definitely in or coming to a village near you.

Solution:
(1) All local governments or towns should form or reinforce vigilante battalions, try to recruit ex military and police from your villages
Just like the civilian JTF in borno.

2) the state and local governments should pay them a salary and hire experts to train them as gendarmes. If you depend on the federal police, They WILL FAIL YOU.

3) university cult boys, if you are looking for a mission in life, here is one. The defence of your own people from extermination.
4) aerial surveillance, tracking , trapping and termination of these cells should be the military strategy or modus operandi.

5) drones are needed, turbo prop crop duster planes can be weaponized ala the AT- 802 air tractor.
States can afford helicopters and arms with their security votes. Instead of embezzling the funds.

Since buhari is being a lawless gangster president, governors should flout our bogus constitutional restraints and protect their people.

I don't know why the entirety of Nigerian society is so clueless about defense and security matters.
With the killings in zamfara state, kaduna and all across the country, all you hear in the media is, "mr president do something " or fire the service chiefs.
There is a complete inability even with the so called security expert pundits to discern, why the armed forces are so ineffective.
PMB could send troops to zamfara till he is blue in the face, it will do nothing. This is because our military lacks the capability and the capacity to wage this sort or any other sort of war.

As ecomog1990 and others have pointed out on this forum, the Mod and military brass receive an allocation of our defense expenditure, but no new or functional equipment comes out from it to empower our forces to defeat both the enemies and the terrain.

What has become of the 1 billion usd fund allocated for emergency defense spending?
Did it become some body's campaign war chest ? the exact crime former NSA is being held for.

Troops need helicopters to maneuver about the battle space. That is, cut these bandits off from escaping.

As the 3 Fs in counterinsurgency doctrine dictates. Find(through reconnaissance), Fix ( by maneuvering to cut off escape routes) and then Finish (with extreme prejudice)

Our troops also require a massive infusion of A vehicles. APCS, IFVs, Mraps and the like.

Our defense budget as is can afford these purchases. But it is simply not happening.

So, Nigerians should demand, what is happening to our military budget? What has become of allocated funds ?

Hilux trucks or innoson trucks aka B vehicles ain't gonna cut it.

Also Oga presido, while you are in Jordan , can you inquire about the weapons the king offered to donate to Nigeria.
You know, if we choose to go the begging route, we must act like we need it.

Guys, ecomog1990 point about NA's thieving generals is something he should be applauded for bringing up. Instead folks here are trying to censor the point.

Gentlemen, their is no thread or discussion point that has been posted on this blog since it's inception that can be de linked from the sadistic treachery that is NA brass since the ecomog wars of Liberia and Sierra Leone.

If you care about Nigeria as a nation and NA as an institution, you have to be losing sleep over the long standing thievery in the NA brass and the MoD.

And PMB can only be willfully ignorant. Same with past leaders.

What price is too much for this folks to exact on nigeria? Tens of thousands of soldiers have been killed in battle due to willful , official negligence.

About 8 su-25s and 3 mig-29s. They were flown by Belarusian mercs I believe. Lack of activity could be due to pilot finance issues or the sand storm damage from last year.

This is more evidence of Obiano's bad governance. He is clearly a partisan governor that only cares for his rural origin in the state.

Kudos to him he has built access roads and bridges to the rural farm belt. Transformed the practice of agriculture in the state. Amongst other achievements.
However, the IGR generating towns of Nnewi and in some cases onitsha are left to their own devices. So you see things like rapid industrialization, with no standardization of fire fighting culture and emergency services.

As for this case, laws should be made and enforced, that only allows dangerous services provided by fuel tankers and dangerously heavy dangote cement trucks, to only ply their trade from midnight to 5 am. When the roads and parks are less congested with people.

Their drivers have to take and pass a course in dangerous driving as they are akin to driving explosives or an armored tank respectively in a civilian environment.
