Before lalasticlala and other elders come to your rescue, let me share my bit because it happened to me too so I relate perfectly to how you feel.
My son will always creep up beside his mother just when I am about marking our attendance register.

This kept on for a while so we deviced a trick...we'd go into the bathroom and do it there while the little fella cried away at the locked door banging on it with all his might.
