...and please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please. I have a life, I don't live on nairaland, I'm also human. But, I don't fraternize unnecessarily, I don't accept gifts on the job just because I'm a moderator, when I deal with people, I don't tell them I'm dragnet. I've had business dealings with most of you, one on one, face to face but you can't and wouldn't know. Even companies that come to nairaland to offer free products for testing & endorsement I don't respond to them because it could easily lead to request for unnecessary favours. So please if you want to accuse me, do so with evidences. |
and please note that I've also been in the system at whatever category you want to speak from, purchase, sales, shipping, as a client, a customer, defrauded, lost items, complainant and even still handling cases in court and whatever category you wan name. So I have an idea of a bit of everything. |
and please nobody should bring up the issue of who is responsible bla bla bla, because that's a very long and unpleasant route which wouldn't easily favour any of the parties. . Mikky should please press the agents and their guys to still investigate the whereabouts and the mishandling of the items right down from the courier to wherever it may be. it's possible that the items turn up somewhere unexpected and this whole episode ends. |
Now to the issue at hand, . . I'll plead with both parties to return back to the point where the item was declared missing. I will advice that they both disregard and forget whatever has transpired and happened between then and now. ikecinho, please give room for consideration and don't be hell bent on maintaining a rigid position. Mikky, please stop playing "god" anymore and go back to the state where you were trying to find a solution or plan on how to refund ikecinho. ikecinho, I'm not saying you should relinquish your quest for refund but try stand in mikky's shoes and assume you're him. running a business where the income isn't up to a tangible fraction of the item's worth and some items get missing not directly due to your handling but through a third party, and currently you're still paying back refunds to some others whose items were also lost in transit possibly due to the sticky fingers of some custom officials or the likes. How comfortable does that shoe feel? So I believe you may have an idea of why you got the initial reaction from mikky, it's not because he is insensitive, it's just a "normal" reaction. . mikky, I'll also like you to consider ikecinho's position, imagine one of those cars you ship to Nigeria was suddenly just nowhere to be found, upon all the papers you processed and all, you've been in this business long enough so I don't think I need to explain too much, and you know how the economy is at home, so you should understand how ikecinho feels too and why he has been reacting the way he has. But I'll sincerely say that you made a very good step by offering a compensation, even though it may not have been accepted by ikecinho, even though it may have been too small when weighed but the truth is you took a step and even a law court would consider that as a step in the right direction even though it would be revisited. . . So I'll like to say at this point that, ikecinho and mikky should go back and privately try to reach a compromise. Mikky has taken a step further by offering items for sale in order to recoup cash but Mikky can you please help him sell them? because people would buy faster from you, (you sef know say saybeven if you sell chewing gum people go prefer buy from you...Lol ). so please reconsider that stand. ikecinho, I don't know how you arrived at 300k but I believe you know the value of what you bought, you can show mikky the invoices and try to work things out. I know how you feel but please, please and please, you have to mix patience, compromise and consideration in solving this matter. Both of you should get off your high horses, you're both men, so it should be easier. I want everyone to remember that there's an adage that says "once the string of a bead is severed, it's a bit impossible to accurately gather back the scattered beads." |
Once again I'll like to advice the detractors to hold their peace and stop aggravating the situation unnecessarily, or would any of you volunteer to refund the loss? Of course most of you wouldn't, yet you'll ruin the whole atmosphere of reconciliation by running your fingers on some cheap device while making the hatred for either of the parties your motivation. . Nobody is asking anybody for what has already happened, it's quite clear. what we need is a way forward while upholding the interests and saving the business of both parties and keep them coexisting. |
unfortunately this story is true. |
tim26will:it's like I have no option but to say a thing or two because it's like mediation isn't coming in from the expected quarters. |
Akerekoroabijawara:na una dey cause d sleeplessness |
tim26will:there's a moderator whose job this is, and has been briefed. |
Coldplay007:I don't live on nairaland, and extensively on this thread. |
Bookiemart01:Madam, how many times will I tell you that there's jurisdiction on nairaland? I'm not in charge of everywhere. I just try to help out sometimes when such spills over. and why should I ban you? except you've broken a rule. |

I sent you a mail. Nobody is trying to hide anything and all what you've said isn't rocket science. the case is under arbitration so temperaments need to be under check. |
Please stop mentioning the admin and moderators, I believe a user manual came with your device, if it didn't you should be able to contact the manufacturer in order to get one, if all efforts to get it doesn't yield & you still can't operate the device, you may return it, give it out as a gift or swap it with a device you're familiar with. |
Most people commenting are merely aggravating the situation by unnecessarily heating up the atmosphere with unfounded remarks out of spite and this wouldn't favour any of the warring parties. Majority of them know next to nothing about conflict resolution, instead of helping both parties to find a compromising resolution to the issue they're just drifting them apart by every word spoken. NB: I decided to pull back because in conflict resolution, once one of the parties doesn't feel comfortable with the mediator, then there has to be a change. Henceforth, any post which goes against the rules or isn't helping the situation will be deleted and the poster may be prosecuted. |
Anyone who is making comments about the case should please do so constructively & in a civil manner. I don't want to start deleting posts and the likes which would make people run their mouths as usual. .. .. Mikky reported the case to me even before the person affected made a post here. I made a move & contacted the person involved, even mikky didn't know his username. I got the username myself and sent him a message. But I've decided to back pedal because it seems he has his mind made up even though we have never interacted before. Because I can already see him throwing allegations here and there. I may not totally ignore the case though, I'll just forward it. cc: dominique |
tumababa:Lol... same nooni |
no more exchange rate monitoring? looks like it's all about PayPal adverts now. |
at least, the egg is from a chicken ![]() |
Bookiemart01:next time please use the report button, it makes the job easier because the moderators aren't "omnipresent" and they do have their life outside here, so help make their job easier and nairaland a better place. I hope you do understand this. Thanks |
I don't know why information on payment methods would cause such attitudes, most of you deal in different categories & have distinct niche, so why the beef? |
and if I remember vividly, it's due to a thread like this that made it possible for people to know that different banks have different exchange rates & also the "Almighty cheap stanbic" was given publicity here due to revelations by forum members of which some people got their whole families registered just to maximize such benefit. |
