ositadiima1:Very interesting... Mean reversion is a real thing indeed. Not sure if 1 month is a long enough time frame for the reversion to occur though... It would be interesting to see the outcome of this strategy! I'll advice you think about publishing your results in any Nigerian investment journal (if there's any)... Kudos... |
If you made money on the stock market this year and you feel like you now have the "know how" of how to make money on the NSE, read the following and be humble... http://mastersinvest.com/stockgeniusquotes Selah... |

nosa2:What's your time horizon estimate? |
chibjohn:Excellent Sir (I'm assuming you are a sir)... Please make my day by telling me you made this chart yourself...... |
onegentleguy:Thanks @OGG... Your opinion is highly appreciated and duly noted sir... |

nna777:Taken right out of my mouth... |
ojesymsym:I'm glad to hear it was thought provoking... It had the same effect on me too... I take no credit for the revelation though. It was birthed after a discussion with like-minds who had done all the hard work of getting the data... I am a long-termist who now believes in taking profit once initial valuations are unjustifiably exceeded... |
I recommend the book "Rule 1" by Phil Town... It covers in details the subjects of what to buy, when to buy, when to sell etc... Thank me later...

emmanuelewumi:Apologies for replying late... In this model, we assume one buys 1million units of Zenith bank during their IPO in 2004 at N10.90. All dividends are reinvested on 01/04 to buy zenith bank shares. I however could not get historic prices between 2005 - 2008. Hence we assume that it is bought at N20/share for those years (which is quite generous)...
|
talk2me2:Could as well have been worth much more than that but for the depressed share price in 2020... |
If you bought Zenith bank on 01/01/2010 using N100,000 and reinvested all dividends received to buy more zenith bank shares on 01/04 each year, how much would your investment be worth as at 01/04/2020?

Danniee:My point was just that no one can tell if 347.4 is the bottom. It can suddenly rebound or dig further... Seeing their Q2 result before deciding might be prudent.... |
Danniee:Well, it depends on you eventually... Seplat has been on full offer at -10% for a while now. When supply exceeds demand, price drops... So its almost certain that if this full offer continues, Seplat will drop to 347.4... Its only a matter of when someone is willing to cough up the 35million naira approximately that is needed for the price drop to happen. Will the full offer stop after this price drops? Will someone be willing to cough up another 31 million to make it drop another 10%? At what price will bids appear for this stock Those are questions Mr Market will answer with time....So, I am asking you your question back, is seplat a good buy at 347.4 ![]() |
Mcy56:Things like this make me want to buy shares in Cscs on the NASD platform... I must chop part of all these JIJO fees... |
RabbiDoracle:I think they are doing that already as we speak... |
kastgeraldino:Please do build your financial models and share with us... It will help us all grow and make better investment decisions... Believe me, I had to go check the difference between FCFF & FCFE.. Shows that we are all still learning... Its FCFF that I generate... Thanks for teaching me something new.... |
kastgeraldino:Gotten from my own analysis... |
DrAwo:Annualised PE of 4.2 Gross ratio 51% Net ratio 43% Debt ratio 92% Debt/equity ratio 1112% (yes! You read that correctly) Annualised ROA 1.74% Annualised ROE 21% P/B ratio 0.89 |
ojesymsym:I can see you are heavy here... Lol... I'm not an analyst but their q1 was flat, q2 was locked down, Q3 will see phased reopening and q4 is the light at the end of the tunnel... Besides renewed competition with Bua will take its toll as well... Not sure about "great" but they will certainly take a hit. I'm sure they'll bounce back once we are out of recession... |
ojesymsym:Good question... They got some tax write-back from previous taxes paid in 2017 based on pioneer status exemptions obtained for their Ibese production lines 3 & 4 and Obajana production line 4. This boosted their Profit after tax disproportionate to other years. |

RabbiDoracle:I agree... Its 5 year average dividend yield from 2014 till 2019... Its just a reflection of consistently high paying dividend stocks... |
Alaska90:Stocks with the highest dividend yield over a 5 year period...
|
ositadima1:Excellent bro... One way to improve in the art of investing is to read voraciously... Thumbs up... I still prefer physical books though... |
